Physical activity is one of the most important element of a healthy lifestyle and determinant of the physical and mental health. According to the WHO, limited physical activity is the fourth most common premature deaths risk factor in the world. Regular sport and active recreation is very important for our health. Physical exercise is the most effective method used by physiotherapists to prevent and slow down the aging process of the body, and consequently, diseases of elderly, such as: osteoporosis, injuries caused by falls, diabetes or hypertension. Physical activity has a positive effect on the quality of life and cognitive functions of elderly. People over 65 years constitute about 40-50% of people who require specialist medical care in the world. Therefore, health and medical professionals dealing with preventive healthcare and treatment of elderly people should have basic knowledge in geriatric rehabilitation, as well as to be able to plan suitable physiotherapy program adequate to the needs of older people. To assess the functional status of the patient, as well as the effectiveness of the training, various types of functional tests are used, specially designed for the elderly. These tests are based on the Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (COG) considering the state of health, physical and mental fitness as well as socio-environmental conditions. The physiotherapeutic program should be based on functional training involving the entire human body, i.e. nervous, muscular, skeletal, sensory and balance systems.

A year ago, the world heard about an outbreak of a new severe coronavirus infection in China, which later, after its rapid spread across the globe, WHO defined as a pandemic. Pediatricians, of course, expected the worst-case scenario and mass illness of the most vulnerable patients – children and people of older age groups with a new infectious disease. From the immunological point of view, everything is obvious – the new pathogen is most dangerous for those who have not yet formed a defense against it, or for those with weakened defense. But it quickly became clear that, unlike, for example, a flu pandemic, there is an unexpected situation when adults, including elderly and senile patients, become seriously ill and die, and children remain practically outside the spread of the infectious process. During a year of living «in a new reality», not only physicians, but all of humanity learned to respond to a new infectious challenge, empirically looking for possible therapeutic or diagnostic interventions and at the same time trying to plan and implement scientific research that would help shed light on the questions posed. For the first time, the international medical community united to perform serious clinical trials of drugs that were proposed for the treatment or prevention of COVID-19. As a result of actions of scientists and clinicians around the world, answers to some questions were obtained, however, most of the information on the impact of the new coronavirus on the human body, including children, is still unavailable to medical practitioners. The review presents latest data on the causative agent of the new coronavirus infection, its effect on the body of children and adults, describes peculiarities of immune response to the new virus, and outlines basic principles of managing such patients in real clinical practice.

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) is the body concerned for the medical and dental education in Pakistan.1 The council was dissolved by an order of the President of Pakistan in October 2019, 2 but the order was revoked by the decision of the High Court of Pakistan.3 According to the PM&DC return/detention policy, a medical student has two chances of exam for his promotion in the next academic class and if one of the students could not pass the two chances provided in at least one of his subjects, the student must pass the exam in 3rd attempt with loss of his / her academic year and must pursue medical studies with the junior class. If one of these students could not pass this or these subjects by exceeding the 3rd chance, the conceded institution offers the 4th and last opportunity to the student.1 If the student still cannot pass the subject in 4th and last opportunity, he is expelled from the establishment with the cancellation of his admission, and the dreams of such a student to become a doctor are fulfilled until he will only be readmitted upon reappearing in the PM&DC competitive entrance test. But due to the sudden and unexpected outbreak of Covid-19, the medical community was the most affected. In some countries, more death rates have been reported among physicians who performed Covid-19 patient care tasks.4 Due to the lockdown policy of Govt. of Pakistan across the country, academic medical institutions were closed as a result of academic months of medical and dental students have also been wasted like other academic fields. The lockdown has been continued and we expect further academic waste from these students. The Pakistan Higher Education Commission has asked for conducting online courses for these students, but the clinical subjects of medical students cannot be taught online as they require direct clinical exposure to patients for the transmission of learning. required. Therefore, as a result of Covid-19, there is expected to be a waste of courses from almost all students across the country. However, in such circumstances, detained / term-back students will suffer a greater and irreparable waste of time as there may be many other technical difficulties regarding the continuation of medical education and the examinations of these students due to the Covid-19 disaster. Therefore, it may be good to revise the Term-Back / Detain policy for these medical, dental, and related students. The authors made the following suggestions for the PM&DC and the institutions to consider this review.         1) To Revise once the Term-Back / detention policy for the period 2019-2020 by allowing students to continue academic promotion during the next academic year with a unique relaxation in the policy.   2) Students who have not passed four chances and who are expelled from the establishment can be relaxed to have an additional chance to continue their medical studies, applicable for the year 2019-2020.   3) Relaxations are similar to those mentioned in the serial number. 1 and 2 for other courses such as Pharm-D, Bachelor of Nursing, etc.   Health workers are the main force in the fight against Covid-19 in the exercise of their functions to manage the patients of Covid-19. Mortality rates among healthcare providers have also been reported due to high viral load. There may be a shortage of health care providers around the world. Therefore, facilitation attempts are necessary to help the bona fide medical profession maintain their numbers and needs in the health sectors and to meet the future needs of the world for these health workers. Consequently, in implementing the suggestions of the authors, hundreds to thousands of health professionals and paramedical services will be able to save and secure their future in the service of the sacred mission of saving and serving the sick community.

Physical exercise is an integral part of a healthy lifestyle. In order to live a healthy lifestyle one must emphasize on not just eating a balanced diet, but also on physical exercise. Physical exercise of any sort, from cardiovascular exerciseto running, jogging, swimming, lifting weights or even dancing may help improve the quality of one's life. Not only it has physical and mental health benefits, research shows that physical exercise might actually be able to reverse the process of aging itself. Physical activity is referred to such an activity which involves movement of muscles. It uses body's own energy to burn calories that produce heat and sweat. Physical exercise in turn increases blood flow of the body. It also produces potent vasodilators, including nitric oxide that further expands blood vessels. Oxygen rich blood is then carried easily to various parts of the body where it was hard to reach before. Cardiovascular exercise is now clinically proven to make the heart strong and for its longevity doctors prescribe a minimum of forty minute session per day. Physical exercise decreases the risk of heart attack, lowers blood pressure and eliminates bad cholesterol from the body. Due to the physical stress and movement, muscles and bones of the body are strengthened. Repeated wear and tear of muscles and bones hence provide an opportunity for them to grow. With proper nutrition and care physical exercise also helps in bodybuilding, along with the loss of excessive fat from the body. Physical exercise has also shown increase in glucose uptake by muscles, thus improving insulin sensitivity and greatly reducing the risk of diabetes. One of the most benecial side effects of physical exercise is weight loss, whereas inactivity or lack of exercise leads towards weight gain and obesity. Being overweight and obese is detrimental towards one's life and forms the basis of various underlying medical conditions. Not only does it make one look good, physical exercise makes one feel good too. It is clinically proven that daily exercise, produces dopamine and endorphins that elevates ones mood. The feel good factor that follows a good exercise session is contributed by changes in levels of hormones produced in the body. The changes in levels of serotonin, melatonin and cortisol all play an important role in wellbeing of one's mental state. One feels relaxed and it remarkably improves the quality of sleep as well. Physical exercise helps one gain focus and block negative thoughts and worries. It helps in fighting against anxiety and chronic depression. It also helps in personality development by boosting one's own self confidence and self-esteem. In order to achieve a healthy lifestyle one must incorporate physical exercise on a daily basis. Moreover one cannot ignore the healthy benefits that accompany physical exercise. In conclusion an hour of physical exercise daily can add years to one's life.

Human being all over the world is suffering due to the recent outbreaks of COVID-19 and prevention of viral infections emerges as a critical issue in safeguarding public health. According to Ayurveda, COVID-19 is considered as an Agantuja Jwar in which Agantu (outside) agent attacking the body. It is Sansargajanya (Aupasargika Roga) causing epidemic or pandemic infection. As no treatment is found effective, diet plays an important role to improve immunity towards viral diseases. Relevant references were searched related to  diet described in Ayurveda treaties. Scientific research papers related to clinical studies on dietetic drugs were also searched. The concept of balanced diet for healthy living has been explained by various Acharyas of Ayurveda, Acharya Kashyapa mentioned that the stability of an individual health is dependent on Ahara and there is nothing best except diet for sustaining the life of human beings. He has also equated Ahara as Bheshaja (medicine) and nothing else is considered as Mahabheshaja (Superior Medicine). Here treatment is suggested as per symptoms available through patients and as per Ayurveda, dietary habits followed during COVID-19 and boosting immunity to fights against pandemic diseases through yoga and Rasayana Chikitsa.
