Background: The one virus stumbled the whole universe is the novel corona virus and impacted physical, emotional and social health status of almost every individual in the world irrespectively. Since the existence of Covid-19 till now it is been noticed that student nurses also affected by this fatal viral infection during their clinical practice. Objectives: The study focused on evaluating the effectiveness of webinar on knowledge regarding the strategies to prevent Covid -19 among student nurses of SIIHS, Honavar, Uttara Kannada. The study aimed at enhancing the knowledge level and influences others through effective health teaching at clinical areas and even in community settings. Methodology: An evaluative approach with pre- experimental, non-randomized, one group pre and post-test research design was adapted. The sample size was 294, purposive sampling technique was adapted. Data collected through testmoz web page and webinar was conducted by google meet app for one week. Data analysed by descriptive and statistical methods (chi-square and z-test) and interpreted by graphs. Results: The findings show that in pre-test 10(3.41%) had poor, 127(43.19%) had average, 157(53.40%) Good and 00% excellent knowledge level whereas in post-test 00% had Poor, 59(20.06%) Average, 176(59.86%) Good and 59 (20.06%) had excellent knowledge level. The pre-test mean score was 23.1 (46.2 %.) and of post-test was 35.6 (71.2%). The computed z’-test value showing significant difference in the pre (x?1=23.1) and post-test (x?2=35.6) knowledge score (p=1.18357, < z= -5.1679, critical z score=-1.6449 ? =0.05 level of significance). Hence the p value is greater than the z value (p(x?Z) = 1.18357e-7), it indicates the webinar was effective and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. Conclusion: The study was concluded as the webinar was highly effective and influenced the participant to gain sufficient information on prevention and the spread of Covid 19. Hopefully this enables them to apply

Febrile seizure rate on toddler was quite high and tended to increase every year. This was because as toddler experiencing febrile seizures they were not properly handled by the parents. Febrile seizure in toddler if not treated quickly can affect the increasing in seizure frequency and can cause death. The capability of mother in handling febrile seizure must be based on the right knowledge of febrile seizure. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of knowledge of the mother before and after health education based on 10 steps in handling febrile seizure on toddler in Bandar Lampung Adventist Hospital. Experimental research method with one group pretest-posttest designed with random sampling technique approach involving 80 mothers with 0 to 5 year old who had fever being hospitalized. The researchers prepared 10 images of steps in handling febrile seizures randomly and asked the respondents to arrange the pictures according to their knowledge. The results were observed to determine their knowledge rearranging as pretest data. Afterward, health education was given about 10 correct steps. Thereafter, reobserved was made and the knowledge in arranging 10 images was obtained as post test data. The knowledge score before health education was 20.75% and after was 83.75%. While the analytical test used paired t test. The results showed a significant relationship between knowledge before and after health education. p value = 0.00 < 0.05. The results showed that the value of tcount (14.26) > t table (2.26). Increased knowledge in mothers reduced the risk of recurrence of febrile seizures in toddler and the nurse who had not tought these steps needed to run regularly to the mothers whose child was being hospitalized.

ABSTRACTBackground: Cardiac arrest is a health problem that is increasing to be the leading cause of death in the world. The main action to save cardiac arrest aims to maintain optimal myocardial and cerebral oxygenation so that death does not occur. Providing Basic Life Support (BLS) is an effort to save and restore this function. Knowledge about cardiac arrest among health students is still a neglected problem due to a lack of awareness in seeking basic knowledge.Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of basic life support-based simulation training on knowledge of nursing students in the city of Bengkulu.Methods: This study used a pre-experimental design with a pre-test post-test approach. The population in this study were all 61 students of the fourth semester of STIKES Tri Mandiri Sakti Bengkulu nursing students. Samples were taken using total sampling technique. Data were collected using a knowledge questionnaire containing 10 question items which were adopted from the questionnaire Yunanto et al., (2017). Data were analyzed using paired sample t-test.Result: Based on the results of the study, it was found that there was a significant effect of BLS training based on manikin simulation on nursing student knowledge with a value of t test = -15.169, p = value = 0.000 <α = 0.05.Conclusion: Nursing students need to provide knowledge about BLS from the start so that they are more confident and able to apply it in case of cardiac arrest outside the hospital. Higher education institutions should provide health education about BLS from the beginning of the academic year, so that in the following semester students are better able to improve the quality of the skills they have formed.Keywords: Basic Life Support, Knowledge, Simulation.

Introduction: Leucorrhoea is an abnormal excessive vaginal discharge often associated with irritation1. This is the most common gynaecological problem that brings the women to gynec out patient. The symptom may be associated with cancer phobia2. It can be symptom of underlying pelvic pathology3. It accounts for more than an estimated of 1/4th genaec patients visits to gynaecologis4. It is one of the common problems that women’s has to face in their lifetime. Sometimes this symptom is so severe that, it over shadows actual disease and women seek the treatment of only this symptom3. Material And Methods: Pre-experimental, one group pre-test post-test research design was adopted. A total of 60 samples were selected using non-probability purposive sampling technique. The tool used for the study comprises of two sections. Section A-Socio-demographic variables such as Age, Religion, Educational status, Type of family, Residential area, Period of work exposure in clinical area, Previous knowledge related to the topic and main source of information. Section B- comprises of online self- structured knowledge questionnaire to assess the knowledge regarding leucorrhoea and its prevention among B.sc nursing 3rd year students which includes 30 questions. Result: The study findings reveled that pre- test score of the majority of students 18 (30%) had average knowledge score whereas 21 (35%) need for improvement in their knowledge level, post-test majority 60 (100%) had good knowledge. Pre-test mean score were 15.5 and SD was 5.7 whereas the post-test mean was 25.83 and SD 1.65. The t-value 3.04, (df.59) which is highly significant and greater than table value 2.0010 at 0.05 level of significance which proves the effectiveness of the planned teaching programme. Chi-square analysis shows significant association between period of work in clinical area and source of information of subjects. Conclusion: The results suggest that supporting, reassuring and educating B.Sc. nursing students and giving information on leucorrhoea and its prevention was effective to increase knowledge and helps them to changes their strategy in self care and are recommended to promote positive attitudes towards personal hygiene.

Background: Schizophrenia is one of the commonly occurring disorders, often causing a high degree of disability to the patients, as well as being stressful to the caregivers. Many people are still unaware that there are effective treatments for schizophrenia. A combination of regular medication, family education and support reduce the relapse rate from 50% to 60%. Psychoeducation interventions provide information to patients and their families as well as provide the tools necessary to cope with the disorder. Aim: The study aimed to find the efficacy of psycho-education on knowledge regarding schizophrenia among care givers of patients by conducting pretest before intervention and posttest after intervention. Methods: Pre-experimental one group pre-test and posttest design was used for this study. The sample of 50 care givers were selected using purposive sampling technique consists of care givers of schizophrenia patients admitted in psychiatric ward. The study was conducted at the selected state govt. hospital IMHANS Srinagar J&K India. Data was collected using structured knowledge questionnaire. The researcher first explained the aim of the evaluation and invited family members to take part. After consenting to participate in the study, family members were assessed in group of twenty five. Result: mean knowledge score at pre-test was 8.94+5.101 and 27.66+1.814 at post test. There was significant difference in knowledge scores of pre-test and post-test p<0.001).There was no significant association between knowledge score and demographic variables. Conclusion: There was significant gain in knowledge score of care givers. The study concluded that psycho education was effective in increasing the knowledge of care givers of schizophrenia patients. Psycho education of the family members is the key to understand about the illness and provide better care to the patient.

Background: Adolescent reproductive health is one of the component of the reproductive health. It is most important issue in the world. Reproductive capability is taking place at an earlier age and adolescents are indulging in risk taking behaviors day by day. The objective of this study is to assess knowledge regarding sexual and reproductive health among adolescents. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in Kathmandu valley to assess the knowledge regarding sexual and reproductive health among adolescents. Total of 200 respondents were selected through non-probability purposive sampling technique. Self-administered written questionnaire was used for data collection. The collected data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and inferential statistics such as Chi-square test. Results: The findings revealed that most of the respondents had knowledge regarding transmission and protection of HIV/AIDS and STIs but still some respondents had misconception regarding it. The statistical analysis revealed that the total mean knowledge score with standard deviation was 45.02±8.674. Nearly half of the respondents (49.5%) had moderate level of knowledge, followed by inadequate level of knowledge 29.5% and adequate level of knowledge 21.0% regarding sexual and reproductive health. There was statistically significant association of level of knowledge with area of residence (p-value 0.002). Conclusion: Nearly half of the respondents possess some knowledge about sexual and reproductive health but still effective educational intervention is required to increase their knowledge.

Background: Choking deserves attention because it often happens to children. The inappropriate handling of choking becomes a vigilance. Caution and handling of choking become crucial even to cadres of Posyandu (the centre for pre- and post-natal health care and information for women and for children under five) in Karangsari Village. Thus, providing them with health education is necessary.Objective: To identify the influence of health education about handling choking on children through booklet media on the knowledge level of Posyandu cadres in Karangsari Village.Research Methods: This is a quantitative research using pre-experimental design with one group pre-test and post-test design approach. The research sample was taken through a total sampling technique. There were 30 cadres fulfilling the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The research instrument consists of pre and post-test questionnaire, which was modified and had been tested for its validity and reliability.Research Result: The research result indicates that the knowledge average value obtained by the 30 respondents before being given health education is 61.50 and after being given health education is 88.00. The result of bivariate analysis using t-test sample paired test shows the p-value of 0.0001.Conclusion: There is an influence of health education about handling choking on children through booklet media on the knowledge level of Posyandu cadres in Karangsari Village.

ABSTRAK Pendahuluan: Sikap caring adalah salah satu identitas profesi keperawatan yang berusaha ditanamkan oleh institusi pendidikan keperawatan melalui proses sosialisasi profesi. Namun, pada kenyataannya ditemukan sikap mahasiswa yang tidak menunjukkan sikap caring. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mencari tahu ada atau tidaknya hubungan antara sosialisasi profesi dengan sikap caring mahasiswa. Landasan teori yang dipakai adalah model sosialisasi profesi Hinshaw dan Theory of Caring Swanson. Metode: Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif, menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional. Populasi penelitian ini adalah 45 mahasiswa angkatan 2011 Fakultas Ilmu Keperawatan Universitas x. Sample diambil menggunakan teknik total sampling. Data diolah dan dianalisis menggunakan chi-square. Hasil: Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian menunjukan nilai signifikansi hubungan sosialisasi profesi dengan sikap caring sebesar 0,019. Uji korelasi sosialisasi profesi dengan setiap kategori caring Swanson menunjukkan hubungan dua sub variabel caring yaitu “knowing” (p value = 0,001) dan “being with” (p value = 0,04) sebagai dua komponen yang sangat dipengaruhi oleh proses sosialisasi profesi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara sosialisasi profesi dengan sikap caring mahasiswa. Diskusi: Penelitian ini merekomendasikan agar penelitian selanjutnya dapat mengobservasi perilaku caring mahasiswa sehingga hasil yang didapatkan lebih akurat. The process begin since the students entering the faculty and improving as the time goes by. However, in reality, there are students who do not show caring attitude. The aim of this study was to find out if there is a correlation between professional socialization and caring attitude. Theoretical basis used is a model professional socialization Hinshaw and Swanson’s Caring theory. Method: The study used quantitative method with cross-sectional design. The population was 45 batch 2011 nursing students of Faculty of Nursing, University of x, using total sampling technique. The data analyzed using chi-square. Result: The significancy result of the correlation test between professional socialization and caring attitude is 0,019. The study also found that two sub variables of caring that are correlated with professional socialization are “knowing” (p value= 0,001) and “being with” (p value = 0,04). The results of this study indicate that there is significant relationship between professional socialization and sudent’s caring attitude. Discussion: This research recommends that further research can observe nursing student’s caring behavior in order to obtain more accurate results. Nursing education system in Indonesia based on the competency-based curriculum is learning experiences that require nursing students to study both in campus and in health services areas. It can cause anxiety to the students. If a student experiences an ongoing increase in anxiety, it can cause negative effects so that students' learning motivation becomes decreased. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of mandala pattern coloring activity on the level of anxiety among nursing students in Dirgahayu Nursing Academy, Samarinda. This study was pre-experiment research with one group pre-test and post-test design. The population of this study was students in Dirgahayu Nursing Academy, Samarinda and the sample was students in 4th semester. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling. Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety (HARS) was applied to measure anxiety level. Data were analyzed by using paired-samples t-test. The results of data analysis using Microsoft Excel 2010 with t-test formula showed p value: 0.004, indicating a significant difference in anxiety level before and after the mandala pattern coloring activity. Mandala pattern coloring activities can be used as an appropriate activity to reduce anxiety..

Efforts to improve caregiver’s knowledge on hallucination is by providing an education the caregivers. Enhancing such knowledge can be carried out by different methods, include lecture and watching video methods. The purpose of the present research was to compare the effectiveness of lecture  and watching video method in enhancing caregiver’s knowledge on hallucination.          The research used a quasi-experiment method with a pretest and posttest group design, with the research sample was 60. The sampling technique used was a total sampling. The scores of caregiver’s knowledge were determined by a questionnaire of knowledge on hallucination that was self-developed by validity test (0.707) and reliability test (0.968). The data obtained was then tested by using Independent Sample T-test, Mann-Whitney test, and Wilcoxon test.          The result of pretest of caregiver’s knowledge before the intervention showed that there was no difference between intervention and control group (p-value=0.624), while result of posttest of caregiver’s knowledge after the intervention showed that there was a significant difference between lecture group and video group (p-value=0.000). The research findings revealed that there was a significant increase in the scores of knowledge for both methods (p-value=0.000), but the increase of video group’s knowledge score was higher (4.23) than that of lecture group (2.57).          The conclusion of the research was that wathing video method was more effective than lecture method in enhancing caregiver’s knowledge so that video can be used as an alternative method for mental health education.

Context: All over the world, the increased awareness of the importance of early diagnosis of genetic diseases has given them priority in primary health care. However, more recent surveys indicate that genetics content is still lacking in nursing curricula. Aim: Evaluate the effect of educational empowerment on student nurses' knowledge, practice, and attitude toward genomic counseling. Methods: Quasi-experimental (pre/posttest) design was utilized to collect the data of this study. The study was conducted at the Faculty of Nursing affiliated to Ain Shams University. The subjects were all available adolescent nursing students who enrolled in the pediatric and obstetric course in the third year. The study sample was composed of 340 nursing students. Researchers used a self-administered questionnaire that includes characteristics of subjects and the assessment of knowledge, attitude, and practice of students. Results: 47.65% of the studied students had poor knowledge at the pre-educational program phase. In comparison, 55.88% had good knowledge at the post educational program, with a highly significant difference at p-value <0.01. There was a highly significant difference between studied students' attitudes toward genetic disease, health history benefits, genetic examination benefits, genomic counseling, follow-up, and decision-making process domains at pre and post-educational program at p-value <0.001. Also, the results reveal that 79.41% of studied students had unsatisfactory practice at the pre-educational program, while 70.59% of them had satisfactory practice at post educational program. There was a highly positive correlation between knowledge, practice, and attitude of studied students about genomic counseling at the pre-educational program. Conclusion: Educational empowerment positively affected adolescent nursing students' knowledge, attitude, and practice regarding genomic counseling. The study recommended continuous training for adolescent nursing students about genetic counseling to prepare them for their future roles. Future studies are needed to examine the relationship between knowledge, attitude, and practice of adolescent nursing students regarding genomic counseling.
