The study investigates the relationship between subject swapping, availability, and pupil participation in the physical education lesson. A quantitative survey was undertaken, and amongst 512 survey respondents, a random selection of 140 pupils was chosen. Pearson correlation was performed after descriptive statistics was used to analyze the relative frequency on the proportion of time a value occurred. The findings indicate a strong, positive relationship amongst the three variables. The response of the pupils for all parameters suggested that the school switched physical education frequently. Pupils should be given opportunity and access to physical activity on a regular basis in order to develop physically and mentally.

Article visualizations:

The knowledge, skills, and attitudes manifested in health and physical education school curricula are an arbitrary selection of that which is known and valued at a particular place and time. Bernstein’s (2000) theories of the social construction of knowledge offer a way to better understand the relationship between the production, selection, and reproduction of curricular knowledge. This article overviews contemporary knowledge in the primary field (production) upon which curriculum writers in the recontextualizing field may draw. It highlights tensions in the knowledge generated within the primary field and, using a case of the USA’s National Standards for Physical Education (NASPE), demonstrates how particular discourses become privileged when translated into curriculum documents in the recontextualizing field.

The aim of the study is to explore the relationship between a net profit of Nepalese commercial banks with staff expenses and staff bonus. This study is based on panel data which is collected from five sampled banks through the review of the annual report during the study period of fiscal year 2012/13 to 2016/17. These collected data are analyzed by using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficient, and log-log multiple regression models. The Mini-Tab software is used for the analysis of data. The results indicate that the predictor variable staff expenses do not significantly impact on net profits of the bank even though they are positively correlated. On the other hand, the response variable (net profit) is significantly affected by the predictor variable staff bonus. Researcher: A Research Journal of Culture and SocietyVol. 3, No. 3, January 2018, Page: 63-71

The outsourcing, or external provision, of Health and Physical Education (HPE) has only relatively recently become the focus of research. This critical scoping review of empirical work on outsourcing in HPE seeks to examine the extent, nature, and range of research that has been undertaken and provide a context for future scholarly inquiry. Literature was sourced from two educational databases, a manual search of five HPE journals, and searches of citations and references. A content analysis of the 31 empirical articles retrieved was undertaken to identify country of origin, study focus, participants recruited, subject and school level researched, study length, data sources, nature of analysis, and theoretical framework. This was followed by a critical analysis of the findings of each empirical study to identify knowledge gaps regarding the outsourcing of HPE. This process revealed that outsourcing varied from being an explicit research focus to becoming of interest as a result of the findings of the study. Nonetheless, there was consistency across all publications in the selection of primary schools as data collection contexts and the recruitment of either school staff or external agency employees as research participants. Thematic analysis of the findings of the articles resulted in three dominant themes: ‘curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment’, ‘expertise’, and ‘partnerships’. Overall, this critical scoping review highlighted that it is crucial that outsourcing continues to be a focus of inquiry for the field and that both balance and depth is sought in the research design of studies that are undertaken.
