Esta investigación, realizada en el curso 2013-2014, analiza la percepción del alumnado de secundaria sobre los factores implícitos en el autoconcepto físico tras haber recibido una Unidad Didáctica (UD) de condición física bajo la metodología del estilo actitudinal. Los datos son analizados (pretest-postest) en función del género con un grupo 231 estudiantes, 102 chicos y 129 chicas. El método es mixto, utilizando  un análisis de descriptivo e inferencial, y una entrevista a la profesora al finalizar la experiencia. En el pretest los chicos obtuvieron valores más elevados en los factores de competencia percibida y fuerza física. En el postest no existió significatividad en la diferencia entre grupos, aumentando significativamente la competencia percibida de las chicas. Los chicos que realizan más actividad física extraescolar presentan mayor aprendizaje hacia la UD recibida, y en las chicas las diferencias se encuentran en función del expediente académico. La profesora destaca la importancia de la metodología utilizada para generar percepción de logro en los estudiantes. Se concluye que el enfoque metodológico utilizado en el aula tiene una incidencia directa en el autoconcepto del alumno.Abstract. This research, conducted in the 2013-2014 academic year, analyzes the perceptions of secondary students on the factors implicit in the physical self, after receiving a fitness teaching unit (TU) using the attitudinal style methodology. Data are analyzed (pretest-posttest) by gender in a group of 231 students (102 boys and 129 girls). The method is mixed, using a descriptive and inferential analysis and an interview with the teacher at the end of the experience. In the pretest, the boys scored higher in the factors of perceived competence and physical strength. In the posttest the difference between groups was not significant, while there was a great increase in the perceived competence of the girls. The boys who engage in more extracurricular physical activity show higher learning about the TU received, while in girls differences are dependent on academic performance. The teacher emphasizes the importance of the methodology used to generate perceptions of achievement in students. It is concluded that the methodological approach used in the classroom has a direct impact on student self-concept.

The aim of this research is to identify the effect of chemistry teaching in the light of the SCAMPER program on achievement and to develop the higher thinking skills of secondary secondary students. The experiment was carried out on a random sample of secondary secondary students in a school in the city of Abha in Asir region, numbering 58 students, which was divided into two groups. One of them, the 28 pilot group, studied the hydrocarbons unit in the light of the Scamper program, and the other 30 students studied the unit in the usual way. The first semester of the academic year 1434-1435 H. At the end of the experiment, the same research tools were applied to both groups The results of the study indicated that there were statistically significant differences at (α = 0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups in the post- The experimental group obtained an average of (43.89) against the average (26.53), as well as in the higher thinking skills test. The pilot obtained an average of 99.32 versus 13.53 for the control. The difference in achievement tests and higher thinking skills is evident in favor of the experimental group. In the light of these findings, some recommendations and proposals were made.

Community Service Learning (CSL) is an experiential learning approach that integrates community service into student projects and provides diverse learning opportunities to reduce interdisciplinary barriers. A semester-long chemistry curriculum with an integrated CSL intervention was implemented in a Canadian university to analyze the potential for engagement and positive attitudes toward chemistry as a meaningful undertaking for 14 post-secondary students in the laboratory as well as for their 400 K-12 student partners in the community. Traditionally, introductory science experiments typically involve repeating a cookbook recipe from a lab book, but this CSL project allowed the post-secondary and K-12 students to work collaboratively to determine the physical and chemical properties and total dissolved solids in the water fountains from the K-12 students' schools. Post-instructional surveys were completed by all learners and were analyzed using a mixed methodological approach with both quantitative and qualitative methods. The expected audience that may be interested in this study are those involved in teaching chemistry in higher education and at the K-12 level as well as those interested in service learning, community and civic engagement, experiential learning, and development of transferable skills in chemistry. The results demonstrate that both groups of students report favorable engagement and attitudes towards learning chemistry and higher self-confidence levels on performing lab skills after the activity. Furthermore, both groups of students expressed interest in exploring future projects, which is indicative of the positive impact of CSL and the mutual benefits of the partnership.

Energy needs of female team-sport athletes are poorly understood with no evidence highlighting differences present between scheduled activities. The purpose of this study was to examine the difference in energy expenditure between NCAA Division II female basketball (BBALL) and lacrosse (LAX) athletes during different scheduled team activities. Female BBALL (n = 13; 19.8 ± 1.3 yrs; 173.9 ± 13.6 cm; 74.6 ± 9.1kg; 27.1 ± 3.2%fat) and LAX (n = 20; 20.4 ± 1.8yrs; 168.4 ± 6.6cm; 68.8 ± 8.9kg; 27.9 ± 3.1%fat) athletes were outfitted with heart rate and activity monitors during four consecutive days on five different occasions (20 days total) across an entire academic year to assess differences in total daily activity energy expenditure (TDEE), activity energy expenditure (AEE), and physical activity level (PAL). Data were categorized by type of scheduled daily activities: Practice, Game, Conditioning, or Off. Independent of day type, TDEE, AEE, and PAL levels were greater (p < 0.05) in BBALL athletes. For each sport, TDEE, AEE, and PAL were significantly different (p < 0.05) between classified activity days. BBALL and LAX athletes experienced higher values on game days for TDEE, AEE, and PAL, with the lowest values experienced on off days. In conclusion, calculated levels of TDEE, AEE, and PAL in female collegiate BBALL and LAX athletes were determined to be different, irrespective of the scheduled activity.

This study explores interactive e-book cues and Information Processing Levels (IPL)’s effectiveness on Learning Retention (LR) and External Cognitive Load (ECL). 117 middle school pupils (MSP) were divided into six experimental groups based on their IPL and cues during the second term of the academic year 2019–2020. Visual Cues (VC)/Audiovisual Cues (VAC) and Auditory Cues (AC)/Audiovisual Cues (VAC) statistically varied in the Ie-book in LR test and ECL scale, same for the average scores when testing the LR in Science for MSP due to the difference between IPL for the DL. There is a statistically significant effect of cue types' interaction in Ie-book with IPL in ECL scale for MSP, at its highest peak in the case of the AVC with DL, followed by the interaction resulting from the VC with DL then AC with SL. Also, cues interaction in Ie-book with IPL immensely affect the LR test for MEP, which is at its highest peak in the case of the AVC with DL. The interactions between (DL–SL) and (AC–VC) seem to equally influence the ELC.

The aim of this study is to clarify the relationship between self-concept and patterns of family climate among students at the University of Islamic Sciences, and also aimed to investigate the effect of gender and age on this relationship.The sample of the study consisted of a group of students were selected randomly, totaling (139) students; (58) male and (81) female students.Two questionnaires were distributed on 139 students. The first questionnaire was on the impact of patterns of family climate on self-concept and the second one about self-concept. Then the researcher analyzed the results of each item in the questionnaire using appropriated statistical methods, calculated the correlation between self-concept and patterns of family climate using the Pearson correlation coefficient, and G-test to find the difference between correlation coefficients.The results showed a positive statistical significance relationship between family climate patterns on one hand and between self-concept in all its dimensions on the other hand.

The purpose of this research is to use an adapted SERVQUAL method to measure service quality in Ghanaian Private Universities. The study use graphical technique for data presentation.The methodological approach follows the traditional SERVQUAL method of service quality perception and expectation as well as the difference scores determination. This approach is intended to improve SERVQUAL method analysis to achieve quality decision making based on graphical view of different relationships among the concepts used in the method. The study is on 321 students’ perception and expectations of five different Private Universities in Ghana.The study finds that students’ perception on Private Universities’ performance predict their loyalty better than the expectations. Managerial action can be better taken on service quality variables when the difference scores are used as percentage on perception. However, different service quality measurement methods such as SERVPERF and HEdPERF should be used and compared the results with this modified SERVQUAL method in Ghanaian Private Universities.This research finding has the strength to equip marketing professionals and researchers to increase SERVQUAL method adoption among different academic institutions.The value in this study is found in highlighting the importance of difference scores and the graphical demonstration of relationships among service quality perception and expectation as well as loyalty constructs in Ghanaian Private Universities.

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of the number of students from non-intact families lacking self-confidence, thus causing him to be less able to see himself positively. The purpose of this study is to see the difference in self-concept of students from intact families and families not intact. This research is a quantitative type of research with a comparative descriptive method. The population in this study were all students of SMP 25 Padang in the 2018/2019 academic year, totaling 744 students. The total sample of 260 students (150 students from intact families and 110 students from non-intact families) was selected using the Stratified Random Sampling technique. The research instrument used was a Likert scale questionnaire. Data were analyzed by percentage formula technique and formula t test with the help of SPSS for Windows 16. 0. The results revealed that (1) self-concept of students from intact families were in the high category (2) self-concept of students from non-intact families in the category quite high, and (3) there is a significant difference between the self-concept of students from intact families and non-intact families with a significant level of 0,000. Based on the results of the study it was suggested to counselors to be able to provide guidance and counseling services, information services, individual counseling services, group guidance services and group counseling services to students from non-intact families, in order to help students realize positive self-concepts.

National Examination is one of the learning results assessment set by the Government, and is ruled at Minister of Education and Culture regulation Number 4 year 2018. The problem discussed in this study is the low percentage of students achieving Graduare Competence Standard/SKL 55 in the nationale examination tryout for mathematics. One of the alternatives to solve this problem is the Peer Tutoring learning method using Whatsapp Messenger application asisstance, in which the subject is grade 12 AP students of SMK Negeri 1 Tanjungpandan academic year of 2018/2019. The research method implemented is the classroom action research. The peer tutoring learning method using Whatsapp Messenger application asisstance was carried out both inside and outside the classroom by providing a smaller member whatsapp group and a  classroom whatsapp group. Each small group consists of 6 people in which there were 1-2 peer tutors. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, there was an increase at the results of the tryout of mathematics national exam tryout for grade 12 AP students after peer tutoring learning method using whatsapp messenger application asisstance was applied, with the total increase up to 50%. This fact can be inferred from the difference of the test results percentage for the first tryout and the third tryout which is from 10% to 60%, while the average score is increased from 34.96 to 60.22 by 25.26 points.

<p>This research was conducted with the purpose of knowing the self concept and anxiety influence students towards an understanding of mathematical concepts. The methods used in this research is a survey method. Affordable population are students of Class XI Science social sciences academic year 2014/2015 in Depok. Large sample as much as 90 students, with a sampling technique used was a combination of proportional and random, taken from three private schools. Research instrument used, namely the now self concept as much as 37 statement, now as many as 36 students anxiety statements, test understanding math concepts shaped 24 multiple choice question, which has been in test validitasnya. Data analysis using path analysis. The results of hypothesis testing indicate that: 1) there is a significant direct influence on the concept itself against the understanding of mathematical concepts. 2) there is a significant direct influence on anxiety of students towards an understanding of mathematical concepts. 3) there is a significant direct influence on the concept of yourself against anxiety students. 4) there is an indirect influence on the concept of understanding the mathematical concepts themselves against through the anxiety of students.</p><p><br /> <strong>Keywords</strong>: self concept, to the dismay of the students, understanding of math concepts.</p>

The systematic analysis of the world experience of civilian use of knives not as cold weapons showed that at present the knife did not become the main attribute of equipping tourists, fish men and even hunters. In particular, today there are very few types of hunting, during which the knife is used to finish off the beast or to protect against it. At the same time, as the practice of hunting management proves, during hunting there are many uses for the knife, even without considering it as a means for cooking. This, in particular, sharpening various stakes (for a tent, a hut, a campfire), skinning a game, preparing chips for a fire, scraping ice from skis or marsh mud from shoes. To do this, in accordance with current state technical standards, any folding knife must have a lock, and the blades of all knives must be of sufficient thickness so as not to break from the load. Handles of hunting knives should be comfortable to hold so that your hand will not get tired during long-term work. For all knives, according to the technical requirements, the length and thickness of the blade must be consistent, as well as the angle of inclination of the tip relative to the axis of the blade. With regard to the above, an interesting example is the collection of knives by the Swedish company Eriksson, consisting of four models, made in the configuration of the Swedish finca. The knives have a handle and a blade of a classic Finnish knife, but with a one-sided stopper. Their blades, depending on the color of the handle, are made of different types of steel. Knives with blue plastic handles have stainless steel blades, and knives with red handles are made of carbon steel. It is believed that in Sweden almost every construction worker walks with such a knife in his pocket. It should be noted that according to the current method of forensic investigation of cold weapons and structurally similar products in it, these knives can be attributed to cold weapons by the size of the blade. It is also interesting an urban-type knife, which is not a cold weapon of the Worden Tactical Medium Company. Renowned wizard Kelly Warden, an instructor for American Rangers, designs this knife. Since 2001, Kelly Warden has been the main consultant on impact and blade weapons of Detachment 1 of the US Special Forces. He trains Special Forces hand-to-hand combat with the use of a knife, machete, baton, sticks, as well as the method of forceful detention. The blade length of the knife described is 74 mm, thickness – 3.8 mm; the handle has a sub-finger protrusion to prevent the arm from slipping on the blade. The knife does not have a standard stopper, which, in addition to protecting it from slipping the hand on the blade, must prevent the hand from sinking into the victim’s body. By all measures, this knife is not a cold weapon in accordance with the requirements of the criminal law of Ukraine. Kelly Warden believes that the knife as a means of self-defense levels the difference in weight, height and physical strength, but its main drawback is its damaging ability. The proposed article is devoted to this circumstance, the definition of the role of the restrictor in classifying a knife as a cold weapon.
