Kelahiran kitab Sirajuththalibin dilatarbelakangi oleh munculnya malaise dalam tradisi intelektual Jawa, yang belakangan telah dirasuki oleh segala bentuk anasir Barat, sehingga apa yang dikatakan sebagai khazanah ilmu Jawa atau kejawen, dianggap bertolak belakang dengan ajaran Islam. Sirajuththalibin merupakan suatu kitab yang mengandung ajaran tasawuf. Ini merupakan kitab penjelasan dari kitab Minhajul Abidin karya Imam Ghazali. Penulis akan berupaya mengupas latar belakang penulisan kitab ini, yang diangkat dari kecenderungan intelektual Kyai Ihsan Jampes. Artikel ini akan mengupas kandungan Sirajuththalibin dan latar kelahiran teks ini. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan adalah dengan pembacaan secara kritis dari kitab Sirajuththalibin. Penulis tidak hanya menjelaskan sekelumit kandungan kitab ini, melainkan juga mempertalikannya dengan konteks sosial masyarakat setempat, sehingga terlihat nuansa sosial yang kuat dari penjelasan-penjelasan sufistik yang dibangun oleh Kyai Ihsan. The birth of the Sirajuththalibin book was motivated by the emergence of malaise in the Javanese intellectual tradition, which had recently been penetrated by all forms of Western elements, so that what was said to be a treasure trove of Javanese knowledge or kejawen, was considered to be contrary to Islamic teachings. Sirajuththalibin is a book that contains Sufism teachings. This is the book of explanation from Imam Ghazali's Minhajul Abidin. The author will try to explore the background of the writing of this book, which is lifted from the intellectual inclination of Kyai Ihsan Jampes. This article will discuss the content of Sirajuththalibin and the background for the birth of this text. The research method used is by reading critically from the Sirajuththalibin book. The author not only explains a little about the contents of this book, but also links it to the social context of the local community, so that a strong social nuance is seen from the Sufi explanations constructed by Kyai Ihsan.

Using Grime as a case study, I employ the analytical framework I created, that is, Musicological Discourse Analysis (MDA) as a holistic mode of analysis to contextualize Grime sociologically and musicologically. This method retheorizes genre, providing a more specific, useful, and detailed musical classification system; the sonic footprint timestamp (SFT). The MDA framework provides a generic mode of musical analysis for research projects in sociology, cultural studies, and the social sciences fields. This article evaluates key musical influences in the evolution of Grime as both (i) a musical form and (ii) an analysis of influences in relation to its social context. It evaluates the global, local, historical, technological, political, lyrical themes, and sonic properties (sounds) found in Grime. Significantly, this framework is very much concerned with the voices in the Grime scene, and therefore respondent experiences are central to this analytical method—incorporating in-depth interviews, observation (physical and online), and immersive listening.

In this article, the authors unveil the social context surrounding a publicly funded project to improve the extremely poor housing conditions of a Roma community in Poland. The focus was on one Carpathian mountain village in which a Bergitka Roma settlement has existed for more than 80 years. A brand-new apartment house for the local Roma minority partly replaced the earlier settlement in a village populated by Górale, a highlander group that is the local majority. At present about 70 Roma live in the new building. The ethnographic material was obtained during fieldwork carried out in 1994-2017. Herein the authors reconstruct the most significant moments in this investment from different points of view: the Roma and non-Roma neighbors. Each side interprets the fact in its own, rather paradoxical manner; each side has learned different new things in the process. The ambitious housing policy undoubtedly led to improvement of the Roma standard of living; it did not, however, increase the extent of their integration. The natural geology as well as manmade elements (e.g. a fence and a bridge) create and maintain boundaries. Nevertheless, analysis of the broader social context is decidedly more crucial than an analysis of facts. Ultimately, the sense of such publicly funded housing projects needs to be scrutinized from the diverse perspectives within the local community.

This paper aims to find out the discourse of tolerance among religious people featured in the film “?” (Tanda Tanya) and Ayat-Ayat Cinta 2. Both are viewed from the level of the text, the level of social cognition, and the level of social context. The research method used is qualitative analysis with Teun van Dijk's theoretical approach, namely data analysis at the level of text, social cognition and social context. The results showed that; First, the discourse of tolerance at the text level in the film “?” (Tanda Tanya) is related to various themes, both about harmony among religious communities, cultural diversity and about tolerance. Likewise the film Ayat-Ayat Cinta 2 also tells the story of religious life in European countries. Second, the discourse of tolerance between religious communities is seen from the level of social cognition. In the film “?” (Tanda Tanya), both the screenwriter and director want to explain the reality of the diversity of religions, cultures and customs that exist in Indonesia. He wants to explain the relationship between religious people in a vulgar way. In contrast to the more refined Ayat-Ayat Cinta 2 movie. Third, the discourse of tolerance between religious communities in terms of the level of social context. The film “?” (Tanda Tanya) is motivated by the number of bombings that occurred at the house of worship three or four years before. At the level of the social context of this film as a sequel to the previous Ayat-Ayat Cinta movie. The background of making this film is because it wants to illustrate that Islam can be used as a way of life wherever we live, including life in the West though.   Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui wacana toleransi antar umat beragama yang ditampilkan dalam film “?” (Tanda Tanya) dan Ayat-Ayat Cinta 2. Keduanya ditinjau dari level teks, level kognisi sosial, dan level konteks sosial. Metode riset yang digunakan adalah analisis kualitatif dengan pendekatan teori Teun van Dijk, yaitu analisis data pada level teks, kognisi sosial dan konteks sosial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa; pertama, wacana toleransi pada level teks dalam film “?” (Tanda Tanya) berkaitan dengan tema yang beragam, baik itu tentang kerukunan antar umat beragama, keragaman budaya maupun tentang toleransi. Demikian halnya film Ayat-Ayat Cinta 2 juga mengkisahkan tentang kehidupan umat beragama di negara Eropa. Kedua, wacana toleransi antar umat beragama ditinjau dari level kognisi sosial. Dalam film “?” (Tanda Tanya) sang penulis skenario maupun sutradara ingin memaparkan realitas tentang keragaman agama, budaya, adat istiadat yang ada di Indonesia. Ia ingin memaparkan hubungan antar umat beragama secara vulgar. Berbeda dengan film Ayat-Ayat Cinta 2 yang lebih halus. Ketiga, wacana toleransi antar umat beragama ditinjau dari level konteks sosial. Film “?” (Tanda Tanya) dilatarbelakangi banyaknya kejadian bom yang melanda rumah ibadah pada tiga atau empat tahun sebelumnya. Pada level konteks sosial film ini sebagai sekuel film Ayat-Ayat Cinta sebelumnya. Latar belakang pembuatan film ini karena ingin menggambarkan bahwa Islam dapat dijadikan pedoman hidup dimanapun kita tinggal, termasuk hidup di negeri Barat sekalipun.

This research aims to examine the use of the language of the visual aids in the performance of Ludruk Karya Budaya. This research method is descriptive qualitative with a sociolinguistic approach. Collecting data with study analysis techniques and interview techniques. Sociolinguistic analysis carried out paying attention to the social context in the form of speech acts. The ludruk performance uses Javanese but Indonesian and foreign languages appear as alternative languages. In staging ludruk it is not uncommon to use Indonesian as the language of instruction. ¬Kidung Jula-juli as the opening act performed Javanese parikan study or pantun accompanied by Javanese gamelan.

 Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses peralihan PGAN ke MAN Palopo, perkembangan MAN Palopo dalam kurun waktu tahun 1990-2007, serta peran MAN Palopo dalam bidang pendidikan dan keagamaan dan bidang sosial. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa peralihan dari PGAN menjadi MAN melalui beberapa tahap yaitu mulai dari PGAN 4 tahun kemudian masa belajarnya ditambah 2 tahun menjadi PGAN 6 tahun kemudian menjadi MTs dan akhirnya menjadi MAN. Seiring berjalannya waktu setelah mengalami peralihan MAN Palopo ini juga mengalami perkembangan dari segala aspek, baik dari sisi akademik maupun non akademik serta dari segi perkembangan fisik maupun non fisik madrasah. MAN Palopo ini memiliki peran yang sangat penting bagi masyarakat setempat, misalnya dalam bidang pendidikan dan keagamaan yaitu penanaman akhlakul karimah, media sosialisasi keislaman dan benteng moralitas peserta didik dan juga dalam bidang sosial yaitu sebagai wadah untuk beradaptasi dengan masyarakat setempat. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa MAN Palopo yang didirikan pada tahun 1990 mengalami perkembangan yang cukup pesat yang dibuktikan dengan adanya perbaikan dan penambahan fasilitas di sekolah serta prestasi akademik maupun non akademik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian sejarah yang terdiri atas empat tahapan yaitu : heuristik (pengumpulan data atau sumber), kritik sumber yang terdiri dari kritik intern dan ekstern, interpretasi atau penafsiran sumber dan historiografi yaitu penulisan sejarahKata Kunci : Madrasah Aliyah, Palopo                    AbstractThis study aims to determine the process of transition from PGAN to MAN Palopo, the development of MAN Palopo in the period 1990-2007, and the role of MAN Palopo in the fields of education and religion and the social field. The results of this study indicate that the transition from PGAN to MAN through several stages, starting from PGAN 4 years later, the study period was added 2 years to PGAN 6 years later to become MTs and finally became MAN. Over time after undergoing the transition MAN Palopo is also experiencing growth in all aspects, both in terms of academic and non-academic as well as in terms of physical and non-physical development of madrasas. This Palopo MAN has a very important role for the local community, for example in the field of education and religion, namely the cultivation of morality, the Islamic media and the morality of students' morality and also in the social field as a forum to adapt to the local community. This study concludes that MAN Palopo, which was established in 1990, has experienced quite rapid development as evidenced by the improvement and addition of facilities in schools as well as academic and non-academic achievements. Sidoarjo delta fishing becomes one of family destination that has consequences and impact on socio-economics of local tourism area. The purpose of this research is to identify the impacts or effects of fishing activities on the socio-economic life of local communities. This research method uses descriptive research type through qualitative approach. The results showed that the social impact of tourism activities on the local community, among others, the type of community work has more variation, development and improvement in the education level of local communities, as well as increasing the role and awareness of the community in maintaining the fishing tourist area of delta fishing Sidoarjo. Meanwhile, the economic impact of tourism activities include changes in the level of community income is quite significant on job opportunities and entrepreneurial communities.

This study examines the reform of the law of inheritance in Turkey and Tunisia. Both countries reinterpret the law of inheritance based on the current social context where the changes of social structure particularly related to gender issues encourage changes in its implementation. Applying the library research method, this study aims at comparing the law of inheritance in Turkey and Tunisia and illustrating that the Sharia law associated with social issues is adapted to and reinterpreted according to the needs of the people. As the result, the study draws some conclusion that Turkey grants equal inheritance rights to men and women, whereas Tunisia integrates the inheritance legal system described in the Quran with the social context. This happens due to the fact that Turkey has been subject to total secularisation and has caused a conflict with the opposition since the beginning of its formation. In the meantime, Tunisia has attempted to avoid a conflict with the traditionalists. To that end, in Tunisia the opinions of the Mālikī and Ḥanafī scholars followed by the majority of the people are adopted and used as a source to formulate the first draft of the civil law.

The clergy have long used the method of hermeneutics in the 17th century to interpret classical texts in a meaning. Because of this, in the study of scientific knowledge, Islam tries to use hermeneutical interpretations to find a meaning that can be understood easily by humans. So the need to do a research on the above issues to find formulations and hermeneutic methods in Islamic scholarship that not only consists of the holy book of the Qur'an and al-Hadith as authentic texts but also thoughts, culture, fiqh, theology and fields of science others in Islam. This research method is a study with a type of literature study (literature study) with a philosophical-historical approach .Data collection techniques with documentation techniques. The results of the study show that Muslim scholars such as Amin Abdullah try to use the hermeneutic method in Islamic studies to produce scientific assumptions in Islamic studies, namely , first, the nature of knowledge summarized in various studies is not fixed and static, but dynamic; secondly, the thinking carried out by the scholars' is the result of the interaction between the text (al-Qur`an and Sunnah) and the social context that surrounds it; third, full emphasis on the empirical-critical paradigm for conducting religious reviews, including thoughts about the sacredness of the text itself, and the results of that thought are not fixed, but always changing.

Ngembah Belo Selambar is one of the rituals of marriage of girls according to Karo custom. The purpose is to get the willingness of girl, parents, sembuyak, Anak Beru, Kalimbubu Singalo Bere-bere and kalimbubu Singalo perkempun on the proposal. Initially the event Ngembah Belo Selambar is done at night after finished eating. However, nowadays events are sometimes held at noon or afternoon, which begins or ends by eating together. Studying it through the social semiotics of the implementation of Ngembah Belo Selambar has a semiotic meaning of custom equipment used from Amak Mentar Kehamaten (Honest White mat), Khamas Kehamaten, Luah (gifts) as cimpa unung unung bulung singkut (lepat pulut wrapped wear palm leaves), side dishes of chicken, Uis pudun pensih can be tried with money, Ose (clothes), all this equipment has a very wide meaning as a symbol in the Karo Langkat tribe. This article looks for meaning not according to the researchers themselves, but the meaning in accordance with what is expressed by the speakers. Researchers look for the quality of the semiotic meaning of verbal and nonverbal symbols based on the quality of the content, the usage of the symbolic meaning that most appear in the marriage of lexical or grammatical meaning, meaning based on social context. The research method used is descriptive analysis method, where will be made a systematic and accurate description of the data under study. Descriptive method was chosen because of research done to see clearly about the object under study naturally. Form Symbol/semiotic sign lays on the discourse Ngembah Belo Selambar and Semiotik Meaning on Equipment discourse Ngembah Belo Selambar.

This paper discussed about the social solidarity that exists between local people and Bugis-Makassar trader in Oeteta, Futuleu District, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. This paper is to answer the question of how the solidarity between them intertwined, and how does the Bugis-Makassar trader agree in Oeteta ?, and what are the forms of social solidarity between them? To answer that, the research method used is qualitative. The research location is in Oeteta Village, Futuleu District, Kupang Regency. In general, this paper discusses the social solidarity in the village of Oeteta due to community awareness of changes and improvements in life. Therefore between the locals and the Bugis-Makassar merchants, they worked hand in hand to join forces. Likewise, Bugis-Makassar traders are good at adjusting or regulating with local residents so that a sense of solidarity arises between them. As forms of social solidarity between local residents and Bugis-Makassar traders can be seen in the social, economic and religious fields.
