Kosovo needs some improvements about its education system and requires some essential and rapid changes in teachers' attitudes towards their profession and in teacher training. Attitude and anxiety are important components that affect the success in profession life and teaching of them. Because of that, the aim of this research is to examine the attitude towards teaching profession and the anxiety towards mathematics teaching, and to explore the differences between the attitude and the anxiety levels of Kosovan and Turkish teachers. The attitude towards teaching profession and the anxiety towards mathematics teaching scales were applied to a total of 64 teachers with this aim. A total of 29 of these teachers were from Turkey while a total of 35 of them were from Kosovo. These teachers were determined randomly from the teachers working in Turkey and Kosovo. At the data analysis stage, firstly total points were divided into the items for each scale and then average points were calculated separately for each one. After that, descriptive statistics and variance analysis were applied to the average points. After the analysis of the data, it was understood that there was not a significant difference between the anxiety towards mathematics teaching of Kosovan and Turkish teachers while there was a significant difference between their attitudes about teaching profession. Besides, it was indicated that Kosovan teachers had a higher level of attitude towards teaching profession than Turkish teachers. Additionally, there were significant relationships between the attitude towards teaching profession and the anxiety towards mathematics teaching not only for Turkish teachers but also Kosovan teachers.

AbstractThis study aims to assess the awareness and opinions of employees and children living in foster care homes about the Romanian Clean Air Legislation. The assessment was performed six months after the implementation of the antitobacco legislation (Romanian Law no.15/2016), in three Romanian counties (Alba, Mures, and Covasna) including 178 employees and 368 children from 59 foster care homes. Data were collected using an anonymous paper and pencil questionnaire. Descriptive statistics and chi-square test were used for data analysis (significant difference if p < 0.05). Almost one third of the employees and children were smokers from the forest care homes. Nearly, all the employees and most of the children were aware of the legislation, most of them have also noticed some kind of measures taken by foster care homes against smoking. As claimed by smokers, almost two-thirds of them smoked like they used to do before the legislation, more than a quarter stated that they decreased the number of daily smoked cigarettes and nearly a quarter intended to quit smoking in the future. A half year after the implementation of the legislation most of the employees and children living in foster care homes admitted that they knew about the change and it affected their smoking habits. Most of them have also observed some kind of measures taken against smoking. Despite these measures there were still smokers in the foster care homes, so there would be a need for more campaigns against smoking in the future.

The aim of this paper, which unifies two, usually separately studied areas of research, fertility and migration, is to determine trends in reproduction behaviour of women out-migrants. In the last decades, there has been an increasing amount of research on women and migration, which has begun to fill the gap created by the earlier focus on the stereotypical male labour migrant. The focus of this research is to observe and analyze the difference in fertility trends between women in different generations and according to women non migrants and out-migrants. The emphasis is on the question: whether the indicators of fertility are closely linked with the act of migration itself. For this purpose we used survey with the questions focused on fertility as well as on socio-demographic characteristics of women out-migrants. Survey data analysis was performed by descriptive statistics and analytical statistical methods. We try to identify how migration process affects the level of fertility of women out-migrants and if there is a significant difference between the level of fertility of the respondents and their mothers and grandmothers who didn’t participate in migration process.

Given that reflectivity could help keep the teaching profession vibrant and responsive, reflective teaching practice has become an essential component of teacher education. In recent years, some efforts have been underway to implement it in our educational system, in general and in language teaching, in particular. The present study aimed to investigate the extent to which Iranian English language teachers are reflective, if at all. To this end, a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire including 26 items, originally developed by Akbari et al. (2010) and validated for the purposes of the current study, was used. The participants of the study comprised 217 practicing EFL teachers selected through random sampling. Data analysis, conducted through descriptive statistics, revealed that Iranian English language teachers are reflective in all dimensions of reflection, though degree of reflectivity varies across these dimensions. This finding is promising and suggests that reflectivity is gaining a foothold in our language education.

This study explored 270 student-teachers' attitudes towards teaching profession in two public sector universities in Pakistan. A self-developed questionnaire was used to collect data. The questionnaire included 5-point Likert scaled items. The results of an initial descriptive analysis showed that 'teaching as a source of lifelong learning received the highest positive response. While 'I chose a teaching career because I had no other choice' was the lowest. Exploratory factor analysis revealed that there were three major motivational factors in choosing teaching career: (1) Relatively easy availability (2) being more respected job, and (3) teaching being a relaxing job. Comparisons on demographics showed no significant difference between universities, as t (268) = 3.476, p<.05. Gender wise difference was statistically significant, as t (268) = -2.589, p<.05. The respondents' academic background had no significant effect on their motivation towards a teaching career.
