A descriptive survey method is used for this study. The data of 100 pre-service teachers in which 40 female and 60 male pre-service teachers, were collected by random cluster sampling technique from two B.Ed. colleges of Ghaziabad affiliated to C.C.S. University Meerut in Ghaziabad district. Moreover, t-test is used as a statistical technique to compare the life skills between male and female pre-service teachers. This study aims to determine whether there is influence between the knowledge of the members of the cooperative and the quality of service to the participation of members of the all-round cooperative effort (KSU) Warga Sejahtera, village Cipinang, East Jakarta. This research was carried out for two months, starting from May 2010 to June 2011. The study population was the whole business cooperatives (KSU) Warga Sejahtera East Jakarta 355 members. The samples used were 84 members using systematic random sampling technique (systematic random sampling technique). The method used is survey method with the correlational approach, while the acquired data to the variables X1, X2 and Y derived from primary data with test instruments for variable X1 and instruments like questionnaire with Likert scale for X2 and Y which has been in testing the validity and reliability. Processing data using SPSS 17.0. Partially, the influence of knowledge about the cooperative members with the participation of members is 0.803. This means that the influence of the knowledge of the members of the cooperative with the participation of members is strong and positive values. A positive value means that if members of the cooperative knowledge increases, the participation of members will be increased, and vice versa. While the influence of the quality of services with the participation of members is equal to 0.271. This means that the influence of the quality of services with the participation of members is weak and positive values. A positive value means that if the quality of service increases, the participation of members will be increased, and vice versa. F-test knowledge of the influence of members of cooperatives and the quality of services to the participation of members obtained F count equal to 137.423 while the critical value of F or F table is at 3.11, the F count> F table, meaning that there are significant knowledge of the members of the cooperative and the quality of service to participation of members together. R² value obtained is equal to 0.772. This means that the variable knowledge of the members of the cooperative and the quality of service could explain the variability of 77.2% of the variable participation of members, while the rest influenced by other variables not examined. The multiple regression equation obtained was Y = 28.725 + 1,742X1 + 0,209X2. From the above analysis it can be said that simultaneously a significant difference between the knowledge of members of cooperatives and the quality of service to the citizens of member participation in KSU Sejahtera, Cipinang, East Jakarta.

Structure of the family is one of the factors that builds the independence of adolescents. Nowadays, it is uncommon to find families that are not united due to divorcement. The condition where families are no longer united (single parent) will affect the independence of adolescents. Independence of adolescence is the ability to organize behavior and decision without being dependent on parents (Steinberg, 2002). The purpose of this research is to see the difference of independence between senior high school adolescents with single mother and adolescents with single father due to divorcement.   A total of 64 senior high school adolescents in Bali in aged 15-18 years who have single parents due to divorcement were included as subjects in this quantitative research, with comparison approach. The sampling technique that was used in this research was cluster sampling. Measuring instrument used in this research was Independence Scale (34 item, rxx=0.889). The statistical technique used to process the data of this study is a parametric test of independent t-test.   Based on the outcome of this research, it appears that there is no significant difference between the independence of senior high school adolescents with a single father nor single mother due to divorcement (t=1.212) with p equal to 0,230 (p>0,05).   Keyword: Autonomy of Adolescence, single father, single mother.

The main aim of this study was to examine factors determining women’s preference for places to give birth in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. A quantitative and cross-sectional community based study design was employed. Data was collected using structured questionnaire administered to 901 women aged 15–49 years through a stratified two-stage cluster sampling technique. Multinomial logistic regression model was employed to identify predictors of delivery care. More than three-fourth of slum women gave birth at public healthcare facilities compared to slightly more than half of the nonslum residents. Education, wealth quintile, the age of respondent, number of children, pregnancy intention, and cohabitation showed net effect on women’s preference for places to give birth. Despite the high number of ANC attendances, still many pregnant women especially among slum residents chose to deliver at home. Most respondents delivered in public healthcare institutions despite the general doubts about the quality of services in these institutions. Future studies should examine motivating factors for continued deliveries at home and whether there is real significant difference between the quality of maternal care service offered at public and private health facilities.

PurposeThe aim of the study reported in this article was to establish whether the quality of clothes of a given brand is perceived and assessed by consumers at the same level. An additional purpose was to identify the features that characterize the quality of popular, among Polish young female consumers, clothing brands and to classify them according to their quality level (perceived and assessed).Design/methodology/approachThe article presents two approaches to consumer assessment of the quality of clothes: the survey method, in which the product quality was determined by 320 Polish female young respondents (19–25) based on their own previous experiences and impressions related to a particular clothing brand, and a direct assessment of shirts of selected brands using a sensory quality assessment method, a five-point hedonic scale with the verbal anchor (115 evaluators).FindingsThe research has revealed a significant difference between the perception of selected quality features of brands and the consumer assessment of the products. The perception maps developed based on the PROFIT analysis (PROperty FITting) as well as on cluster analysis provided interesting information about the situation of selected brands and their features in comparison with others and allowed to identify strong and weak features characterizing a given category.Research limitations/implicationsThis study has several limitations. First and foremost, the research results cannot be generalized to all consumers because they encompass the results from one national context and one population of respondents (young females). It should also be noted that the conducted research comprises only the most popular clothing brands available on the Polish market, in particular, the fast fashion segment brands. Furthermore, it would be advisable to carry out a sensory assessment of the quality of other clothing items offered under the brand names investigated.Practical implicationsThis research could be a valuable source of information for clothing company managers, thanks to which they could better manage their brand and its position on the market. When undertaking marketing activities consisting of building positive perceptions about the product, it is important to make sure that the product offers an attractive sensory experience. When real quality deviates from consumer perceptions about the quality, managers should take corrective actions to restore and even improve the brand image in the eyes of the consumer, as well as to ensure the brand and the products offered under it a stable position on the market.Originality/valueBy comparing two approaches to consumer quality assessment, discrepancies between declared and real (sensory) quality of clothes have been identified and the distinctive features that differentiate selected brands regarding their quality level have been indicated.

The aim of this research paper was to examine the voice quality of sports coaches using the objective (acoustic) method. A total of 28 sports coaches (mean age 28.58, SD=5.08), from the City of Zagreb participated in this research. Recordings of the phonation of the vowel /a/ before and after one training session were obtained and analyzed using the PRAAT Program. Mean, minimal and maximal values of fundamental frequency, shimmer, jitter and harmonics-to-noise ratio were observed. The statistical analyses showed no statistically significant difference in acoustic voice quality of male and female coaches before and after the training session, or between male and female coaches. However, intra-individual differences among participants were observed, which may be significant in terms of their potential to affect the quality of their voices in the future.

The gap analysis finding is based on responses of 216 bank customers. A questionnaire survey conducted consisting the SERVQUAL instrument with 22 items used for the survey originated by Parasuraman et al. (1988). The result of gap analysis showed that there remarkable service quality gaps in all five dimensions of SERVQUAL. Empathy and assurance have more gaps relative to other dimensions. Independent sample test showed that there is no significant difference between male and female respondent’s perceived gaps in service quality of these banks.
