The paper assesses the influence of science–business cooperation on the activity of firms, analyzes the factors of interaction of Russian companies with academic organizations and universities in the research sphere, identifies barriers to the development of cooperation between business and science. It has been established that companies whose source of innovation was external R&D were more likely to grow over the past 5 years and to create new products. However, a significant effect of the impact of cooperation with domestic research organizations was found only for the dynamics of exports. It is shown that cooperation with domestic science is more typical for high-tech industries and large Russian businesses. The factor inducing firms to outsource research is a significant level of competition. The high cost of external research services and their insufficient quality hinder the development of scientific and production cooperation. One can point to such a barrier as low interest of research organizations in the volume of orders that firms can offer. This is caused by weak institutional change in the Russian science, preservation of its orientation at the state and major players, which significantly limits the opportunities for institutional interaction of small innovative firms with science. It has been shown that the state quite effectively “pushes” companies to interact with research organizations and universities, but the results of such interaction are often unsatisfactory for firms.

The study subject of the paper is the directions of development of leasing in Russia in various forms of its manifestation. There is no generally accepted classification of types of leasing today — the system of statistical indicators characterizing the state and development of the financial leasing market is in a state of formation; the factors (external and internal) and cause-and-effect relationships that bring such an uneven development of the leasing services market in a way of changing the legal environment, new challenges of the time (economic, financial, social) have been little studied. Thereby, the study of leasing as a unique tool for investing in assets (including labor force) in various spheres of human activity is a relevant scientific and the applied problem. Within the framework of this paper, being used statistical methods for analyzing the structure and dynamics of the phenomena of public life, the features and trends that are emerging in thebRussian market of leasing services are investigated, a forecast for 2020 is being constructed. and expert agencies and summarizes the results of the comprehensive statistical analysis of one of the segments of the financial intermediation services market. The proposed methodology for analyzing a segment of the financial intermediation services market using the example of leasing can be widely used in the analytical activities of expert agencies, financial analysts, be useful in scientific and applied research conducted by research organizations and universities, as well as in the training of scientific and pedagogical personnel in financial and economic profile universities.

The article analyses the development trends of professional education in the context of global shifts taking place in the modern economy due to its technological development. The transfer of business processes to the digital environment leads to a radical reformatting of the entire sphere of labor, a change in its quality, as well as forms of interaction between people in the production of goods and services. The author identifies the main factors that have a decisive influence on the evolution of the professional activity of the person, radically changing the requirements for the professional education system, both in terms of its content, and methods of getting it. The main factors of the ongoing transformations, according to the author, include the rapid spread of digital platforms, replacing the traditional sectors of the economy, and the automation of cognitive activity based on the algorithmic repetition of a certain set of actions. Analyzing the effect of these factors, the author notes their contradictory effect on the sphere of professional employment and vocational education, comes to the conclusion that it is necessary to radically change the very paradigm of the development of vocational education, implement non-trivial organizational decisions in the process of transforming its institutional infrastructure. The article emphasizes that professional education in modern conditions is becoming not just a connecting link between the labor market and a person, but it is the beginning to fulfill a wide range of social functions. This is especially important in the context of a reduction in the scope of labor in the high-tech digital economy.

SMEs are seen as the one of the main factors, impacting the growth of the national economy, contributing to the new jobs and social stability. The tendencies of political, economic and technological changes, competition in the local market, and demand of customers have encouraged the managers and entrepreneurs to be more proactive and to take greater risks in developing appropriate international strategies. The paper aims to disclose the main motives and barriers, impacting international expansion of SMEs. The research investigated the extensive number of prevailing factors and considered traditional and high-tech industries. The article discusses the results of a study on the participation of research organizations, universities, small and medium-sized enterprises in Ukraine and the CIS countries in the framework programs of the EU to integrate into the European scientific space. Based on the research and development information system (CORDIS), data were collected, processed and analyzed on the participation of scientists, specialists and business representatives of Ukraine and the CIS countries in EU international projects. A comparative analysis of the participation of the CIS countries in the framework of programs has been made. Particular attention is paid to the participation of Ukraine in the program “Horizon 2020”. Examples of participation of Ukrainian organizations in it are given. In the course of the research, it was revealed that almost a third of the projects that Ukrainian participants are performing involved several organizations from Ukraine. Compared to previous programs, the peculiarity of the Horizon 2020 program in comparison with previous programs is the active participation of business, public organizations and associations, as well as other non-governmental institutions. These organizations make up 45% of the total number of Ukrainian organizations that received grants in the “Horizon 2020”. The study showed that Ukraine is also one of the active participants in the international projects of the Horizon 2020 program as a participant. Participation in the program allows you to attract high-tech industries of Ukraine for projects and receive orders for the creation of innovative products

Purpose – the purpose of article should assess the main factors affecting the development of trade in high-tech products of Ukraine in the context of association with the EU and the spread of a new industrial revolution. Research methodology – the scheme of research of trade of high-tech products of Ukraine from the EU on the basis of qualitative and quantitative economic-statistical analysis, analysis of comparative advantages and correlation-regression analysis. Findings – the results of the analysis show that the main factors determining the low presence of Ukraine in the world market of high-tech products are the outdated structure of production, a low level of R&D costs, and a decrease in the innovative activity of Ukrainian enterprises. The article presents the author’s recommendations on improving the effectiveness of foreign trade in high-tech products of Ukraine in the EU market. Research limitations – the absence of a state development strategy for the production of hightech products does not make it possible to accurately determine indicators of scientific research of the potential of Ukraine. Practical implications – correlation-regression analysis results can be used in the private and state sectors of the economy of Ukraine. Originality/Value – the original combination of schemes and methods allowed us to identify new critical places for export development in the context of the association of Ukraine with the EU.

The aim of the study is to analyze the existing problems in R&D procurement for the federal and municipal needs. The authors carried out a comparative analysis of the conducted surveys of the government customers and contractors representing research organizations and universities as well as of bidding documents and evaluation criteria for choosing the best offers in government procurement of social science research. The results of the study show that the currently applied approaches to the effectiveness evaluation of research organizations do not allow the selection of a duly qualified executor of a government order. A customer has to take decisions in conditions of high uncertainty both for the assessment of scientific capacity of a contractor and for the estimation of necessary resources to achieve the set goal. That makes the authors conclude that there is an urgent need in elaboration of alternative competitive criteria.

The article refers to the issues related to the development of high-tech industry. The text describes the history of the beginning of its development that as well as the main factors that determine its origins that development and location. Scientific description highlights the importance of high-tech industry. It is the cooperation of scientific knowledge with technological capabilities of the twenty-first century and a reasonable use of the opportunities offered by financial institutions while using the modern infrastructure. aim of this work is to identify the role of high-tech industry in the economy of European countries, especially Polish. The description illustrating the situation of the world technology helps decide the place of Poland in technological reality. Large differences in the political burden of the past significantly delayed the Polish industry. The positives of the current situation of Polish industry are constantly increasing expenditures on research and development and the use of the possibilities offered by EU funds for the financing of innovative projects. The existence of technology parks and special economic zones in Poland described in the article also brings with it the opportunities for the development of high-tech in the future.
