Bioinformatics has pervaded all fields of biology and has become an indispensable tool for almost all research projects. Hence the demand for graduates well-trained in bioinformatics has grown. Teaching bioinformatics has been incorporated in all traditional life science curricula. Better than teaching stand-alone bioinformatics, it would be useful to stress multidisciplinary and problem-solving aspects. Since bioinformatics relies heavily on the use of computers, e-learning is particularly convenient, but few examples have been produced so far. We present a tutorial that starts from a practical problem: finding novel enzymes from marine environments. First, we introduce the idea of metagenomics, a recent approach that extends biotechnology with non-culturable microbes. We then lead the students through databases such as BRENDA, and programs such as BLAST and Clustal Omega. Lastly, we let the students querying these databases about molecules found in marine environments. At the end of the experience, students will have acquired practical knowledge of bioinformatics fundamentals.

Abstract Background: The post-mastectomy changes to the locomotor system are related to the scar and adhesion or to the lymphatic edema after amputation which, in turn, lead to local and global distraction of the work of the muscles. These changes lead to body statics disturbance that changes the projection of the center of gravity and worsens motor response due to changing of the muscle sensitivity. Objective: The aim of the study was to evaluate the static balance of women after undergoing mastectomy. Methods: The study included 150 women, including 75 who underwent mastectomy (mean age: 60±7.6) years, mean body mass index (BMI): 26 (±3.6) kg/m2) and 75 who were placed in the control group with matched age and BMI. The study was conducted using a tensometric platform. Results: Statistically significant differences were found for almost all parameters between the post-mastectomy group and group of healthy women, regarding center of foot pressure (COP) path length in the Y and X axes and the mean amplitude of COP. Conclusions: First, the findings revealed that balance in post-mastectomy women is significantly better than in the control group. Second, physiotherapeutic treatment of post-mastectomy women may have improved their posture stability compared with their peers.

Summary An important factor for individual and organizational learning is the identification and the sharing of practical experience. This article presents PATONGO-Storm, a process and an e-Learning tool for supporting workshops that initiate cross-organizational exchange of practical knowledge. The tool collects and relates experiences and challenges. Practitioners with related contributions are then brought into a discourse where they develop solutions for relevant challenges. The approach was validated in the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) where it showed first positive effects.

Aim: To assess the knowledge and attitude of students of dental schools in Southern India towards Basic Life Support (BLS), as well as to study the retention of BLS knowledge over time. Subjects and methods: A prevalidated questionnaire was employed, which contains 12 knowledge Questions and five questions designed to assess the students perspective towards BLS. It was hosted on Google Forms, and the URL was distributed to the Students. Results: A total of 267 responses were received, of which 66 were males and 201 were female students. Out of a maximum possible score of 12, the mean knowledge score of the group was 4.54. It was found that those who attended a BLS workshop within the last 2 years scored significantly better than those who either took it more than 2 years ago or had never undergone BLS training. Almost all participants (96%) agreed that there is a need for BLS to be learned by all dental students and hence BLS training should be part of the dental curriculum. 76.8% of respondents expressed reluctance to perform CPR on strangers. Conclusion: The findings show that the dental students who participated in the study had inadequate knowledge in BLS, but had a positive attitude towards the adoption of BLS into the dental curriculum.

The scenario based e-learning in Electrical Engineering Education Learning (EEEL) was developed by covering the scope and characteristics of all subjects and the competence unit of graduates in the field of pedagogy, professional, social and personality, with url addresed http://jpte-ft-unimed.edu20.org. The scenario incorporates the concept of Problem Based Learning (PBL) and Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL), by supporting of Information Communication Technology (ICT) to establish the competence of the students, from beginners to become proficient, as the teachers of electrical engineering, and the electrical technicians. Based on the analysis, it obtained the students’ learning motivation, the lecturers’ attitude in teaching, and the students’ learning outcome are tend to be high, and the competence of the students who used the model are better than not use.

This paper aims at measuring the extent of some translation students' competence of grammatical aspect compounds (strings) and their adequacy in rendering them in English. It also tries to establish which strings students tend to mistranslate. The researchers designed a multiple-choice test, using Google form, in which a given Arabic text is provided with four alternatives: one correct answer and three distractors. The test was distributed to students from translation departments at Yarmouk University and the German Jordanian University enrolled in the second semester, 2020 via the E-learning systems. Responses of students (202 out of 300 from YU and 63 out of 86 from GJU) were collected in tables. The researchers used One-way ANOVA and Scheffe Test to analyze the data. The paper has concluded that there are no significant differences among students with regard to gender, study plan, level of study, and taking Arabic courses traditionally taught. However, students joining Yarmouk University and the German-Jordan University from international and private schools are better than those coming from public schools. The majority of students do not have problems with the simple present and simple future and their perfective and progressive aspects, nor do they with past perfect. However, they confuse the perfective and progressive aspects of the simple present and the simple past. In the last two decades, technology has evolved at a great pace and has influenced almost all spheres of life and education is no exception to it. Nowadays, most of the educational institutions are using various tools and equipments to impart education to the students. This paper has tried to explore the impact of e-education tools on thestudents in higher educational institutions. The sample consists of students enrolled in higher educational institutions. Both quantitative and qualitative methods have been adopted for data collection including questionnaires, semi-structured &open-ended interviews. Use of computer and internet was found to be one of the most important e-learning tools. The findings are expected to assist the higher educational institutions in framing their policies to impart quality education to the students.

Currently the development of information technology has an important influence in the development of learning systems, one of which is technology in the multimedia field. Multimedia technology is an indispensable tool for the learning process. The use of text, images, audio, video, and animation in learning helps students to quickly understand learning material. Multimedia also provides opportunities for educators to develop learning methods so that they get maximum results. AMIK AKMI Baturaja is a computer college that has not fully utilized information technology in its learning, especially in the field of Multimedia. For this reason, researchers conducted this research for the development of learning at the Campus AMIK AKMI Baturaja. This study aims to produce a multimedia-based learning media at AMIK AKMI Baturaja which can be a driving force for student learning achievement. In this study using a research method of literature study, observation, questionnaires, and interviews. The media development method uses MDLC (Multimedia Development Life Cycle) which consists of six stages, namely concept (needs analysis), design (design), material collecting, assembly, testing, and distribution. . The result of this research is a multimedia-based learning system presented in the form of e-learning. This media is expected to have a positive influence in increasing student achievement and learning independence.

The purpose of this chapter is to analyze and present theoretical and empirical findings about the ways that teachers in Higher Education (HE) interpret the role of ICT for their professional development both as teachers in HE and as medical professionals in some cases. Two research questions were formulated: 1) Why is the employment of technologies fully accepted and promoted in almost all aspects of professional activity, but employment of ICT for teaching and learning at HE is not always used to its full potential? 2) What (if any) educational support is needed for university teachers to use available e-learning opportunities for their own development as teachers to a greater extent? Educational support for university teachers to use contemporary information communication technologies and network provisions more effectively for their competence development are presented.
