Tilapia aquaculture has growing vertiginously in the world, reaching 7.02 million tons in 2020. In Mexico, the same year reached 72.6 thousand tons. This production values have increased environmental impact and production costs. In Mexico there is a pre-Hispanic aquaponics system, where people culture corn, bean fishes and other organisms. Taken this system as basis, the aim this work was demonstrate the benefits in tilapia aquaculture, by Vetiver grass. Three mini-ponds make up by tilapia juveniles and Vetiver in aquaponics system, and one mini-pond without Vetiver, were cultured during ten weeks. The ammonia, nitrates, dissolved O2, pH etc., and also tilapia weights were recorded along experiment. Results indicated that, ammonia decreased, nitrate increased and tilapia weight increased significantly in mini-ponds with Vetiver than without Vetiver. A von Bertalanffy simplified model was used to calculate time required for tilapias reached 500 g (commercial size) with Vetiver and without Vetiver; it was 48.6 and 54.4 weeks respectively. An extrapolation to commercial tilapia aquaculture, will decreased production cost, due to lower amount of feed and water in tilapia hatcheries; also, a lower environmental impact by wastes discharged to coastal ecosystems, e.g., the amount of ammonia produced in mini-ponds with Vetiver was 4.56 times less than mini-pond without Vitier at week ten. Moreover, tilapia culture with Vetiver, have an aggregated value, because Vetiver is used in perfumes production, reaching 45.2 billons US dollars in 2020.

The limited fossil reserves, spiraling price and environmental impact due to usage of fossil fuels leads the world wide researchers’ interest in using alternative renewable and environment safe fuels that can meet the energy demand. Biodiesel is an emerging renewable alternative fuel to conventional diesel which can be produced from both edible and non-edible oils, animal fats, algae etc. The society is in dire need of using renewable fuels as an immediate control measure to mitigate the pollution level. In this work an attempt is made to review the requisite and access the capability of the biodiesel in improving the environmental degradation.

The level of economic development of entrepreneurship in any country in the world is crucial in increasing the competitiveness of the national economy in the world market of goods and services. The activities of economic entities are the driving force for the sustainable development of regions and their suburban areas, and they also impact the welfare of population. The article dwells on the analysis of scientific approaches to the regulation of economic development of enterprises in suburban areas of the region. The article analyzes the scientific approaches to the regulation of economic development of enterprises in suburban areas of the region. According to the well-known classics of the fundamental economic theory of entrepreneurship development (A. Smith, D. Ricardo, V. Laungard, A. Loria) the peculiarities of economic development of entrepreneurship in suburban territories of the region are determined by the possibility of distribution of surplus production, minimum production costs per unit of production, availability of labor resources. In modern economic theory (M. Weber, A. Pre, S.M. Kimelberg, E. Williams, C. Vlachou, O. Iakovidou, J. van Dijk, P. Pellenbarg) the development of entrepreneurship in suburban areas of the region can be determined by institutional, innovation, technological, social, ecological and other features of the economy at the regional, state or world levels. The complex and comprehensive generalization of the features of economic development of entrepreneurship in suburban areas is proposed. There are (1) the type of decision taken by an enterprise to carry out business activities in the relevant suburban area of the region, and (2) the influence of internal and external factors on economic activity. The article argues that large enterprises are guided by more objective decision-making reasons, attaching the most importance to the physical and innovative environment. Medium and small enterprises are mainly focused on getting benefits for the entrepreneur in the short-term time period and location in the nearest geographic area. The attention was paid to the tools of ensuring economic development of entrepreneurship in suburban areas of the region, taking into account institutional changes in the national economy and the experience of developed countries of the world.

The number of consumers with green awareness have grown these days and as a result they have turned to purchase eco-friendly products. For this reason, this study aims to propose a method for eco-design based on the anticipatory failure determination method to develop eco-design products. By using eco-design concepts adopted from the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, the process will limit the failures and issues related to environmental impact in product design. The proposed method for eco-design product in this study follows the following procedure. First, we analyze product failure. Second, we propose the determination of the non-green phenomenon of the failure. Thirdly, we integrate the intensified non-green phenomenon to generate non-green hypotheses and fourthly, we eliminate each non-green phenomenon hypothesis by introducing the contradiction matrix of TRIZ for obtaining solutions. Finally, we assess alternative eco-design solutions by evaluation. To verify the practicality of the new procedure, a washing machine is used as an example for illustration.

The objective of fully mechanizing olive harvesting has been pursued since the 1970s to cope with labor shortages and increasing production costs. Only in the last twenty years, after adopting super-intensive planting systems and developing appropriate straddle machines, a solution seems to have been found. The spread of super-intensive plantings, however, raises serious environmental and social concerns, mainly because of the small number of cultivars that are currently used (basically 2), compared to over 100 cultivars today cultivated on a large scale across the world. Olive growing, indeed, insists on over 11 million hectares. Despite its being located mostly in the Mediterranean countries, the numerous olive growing districts are characterized by deep differences in climate and soil and in the frequency and nature of environmental stress. To date, the olive has coped with biotic and abiotic stress thanks to the great cultivar diversity. Pending that new technologies supporting plant breeding will provide a wider number of cultivars suitable for super-intensive systems, in the short term, new growing models must be developed. New olive orchards will need to exploit cultivars currently present in various olive-growing areas and favor increasing productions that are environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable. As in fruit growing, we should focus on “pedestrian olive orchards”, based on trees with small canopies and whose top can be easily reached by people from the ground and by machines (from the side of the top) that can carry out, in a targeted way, pesticide treatments, pruning and harvesting.

Between 1988 and 1993 six periods of field study were undertaken to investigate the environmental impact of the construction of a main irrigation canal and other works in the proposed extension of Suklaphanta Wildlife Reserve and to recommend protective measures. Suklaphanta is administered by His Majesty's Government of Nepal through the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation. Special emphasis was placed upon the barasingha Cervus duvauceli population because it is the largest remaining group of this endangered deer species in the world. This paper presents recommendations for the management of the barasingha and its habitat.

 Batik is a picture art that is poured in a piece of cloth that is one of the Indonesian nation's identity that is recognized as World heritage. Unesco has set Batik as a Masterpieces of the Oral and the Intangible Heritage of Humanity on October 2, 2009. In Indonesia, Batik has expanded and penetrated the market share as the development of fashion in the world. Motives that exist in the market is also various types and apparently. Among others: Batik Mega Mendung, Batik Parang Rusak, Batik Kawung, etc. Which makes each type of batik has a different aesthetic value is different its uniqueness.. Dyeing techniques also vary from dyeing techniques, connective techniques, jumputan techniques etc.. Seeing this opportunity encourages the emergence of the idea of making Batik, but replace the use of the night with Leaf Betel. Leaf Betel  itself is only used as medicine or herbal medicine by the surrounding community. With this idea, in addition to raising the economic value of Leaf Betel, the original legacy of Indonesia can also be preserved. Starting from drawing sketches on mori cloth, then burst the Batik motif with Scratches Ginger Leaf Betel on it using Nails. After this step is passed, continued the coloring, for staining time required about 1-2 hours for 1x1 meter sized fabric. The results are sold in the form of batik cloth, and marketed through social media, and sold directly in the area of Madiun and surrounding areas.

In recent years, discoveries of methane plumes (also called methane flares) have been reported in various sea areas around the world. Clusters of naturally seeping methane bubbles rising from the seafloor are visualized as methane plumes on the echograms of quantitative echo sounders and multibeam sonars. In order to determine if seeping methane can be used as energy resources and its environmental impact, it is necessary to estimate the amount of naturally seeping methane. From April, 2020, a 3-year project is being conducted in Japan to evaluate the amount of methane seepage from methane plumes. The authors propose the following steps to quantify the amount of methane seepage accurately. First of all, methane plumes in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of Japan are mapped out using acoustic devices such as quantitative echo sounders and multibeam sonars. Secondly, methane bubbles of a few millimeters in diameter from methane seeps at seafloor are collected and sampled using a cone-shaped collector with 20 cm in diameter, operated by Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV). If we can identify the number of seep mouths that form into one single plume, we will be able to quantify the methane seepage from one plume. Based on this result, calibration of the mean backscattering strength and the amount of seeping methane from methane plumes becomes possible and will be applied to the mapped plumes in order to estimate the methane seepage in the EEZ of Japan. Once this calibration is established, it can be applied to the methane plumes observed worldwide, and methane seepage can be quantified simply by acoustic observations of methane plumes. In this study, a method to verify the correlation between methane plumes and methane seeps is introduced, as well as a method to locate methane seeps effectively using the Target Position function of a quantitative echo sounder. The authors intend to use this as the basic data for establishing a method to estimate the amount of methane released from a methane plume by observing the methane plume acoustically.

Climate prediction models suggest that agricultural productivity will be significantly affected in the future. The expected rise in average global temperature due to the higher release of greenhouse gases (GHGs) into the atmosphere and increased depletion of water resources with enhanced climate variability will be a serious threat to world food security. Moreover, there is an increase in the frequency and severity of long-lasting drought events over 1/3rd of the global landmass and five times increase in water demand deficits during the 21st century. The top three cereals, wheat (Triticum aestivum), maize (Zea mays), and rice (Oryza sativa), are the major and staple food crops of most people across the world. To meet the food demand of the ever-increasing population, which is expected to increase by over 9 billion by 2050, there is a dire need to increase cereal production by approximately 70%. However, we have observed a dramatic decrease in area of fertile and arable land to grow these crops. This trend is likely to increase in the future. Therefore, this review article provides an extensive review on recent and future projected area and production, the growth requirements and greenhouse gas emissions and global warming potential of the top three cereal crops, the effects of climate change on their yields, and the morphological, physiological, biochemical, and hormonal responses of plants to drought. We also discuss the potential strategies to tackle the effects of climate change and increase yields. These strategies include integrated conventional and modern molecular techniques and genomic approach, the implementation of agronomic best management (ABM) practices, and growing climate resilient cereal crops, such as millets. Millets are less resource-intensive crops and release a lower amount of greenhouse gases compared to other cereals. Therefore, millets can be the potential next-generation crops for research to explore the climate-resilient traits and use the information for the improvement of major cereals.

This study aims at exploring the impact of economic globalization factors on the gravity economic systems. Nonetheless, the basis of the research is a gravity economic system exposed to the impacts of globalization, and the concern is to explore the effects of the exposure on the influences of distance and economic sizes on the model. Recognizing the role of population growth and globalization in driving bilateral trade follows is one of the objectives of this research as should be part of an economic model. The study used the modified gravity and globalization variables, data retrieved from the CEPII, the World Fact-book, and the World Bank. The ordinary squares regression and STATA statistical software were used to investigate the hypotheses. The model leading to the general hypothesis that globalization is reducing the cost of entry, and total time required to set up a business and to minimize the bureaucracy associated with registering businesses and launching operations. The trade flow latent variable should contain information on export, import, free trade agreements, preferential trade agreements, and union memberships, which would help in identifying globalization factors that mediate the interaction between global variables and bilateral trade responses.
