Kata Kunci: Edukasi, Jus Wortel, Remaja, Dismenore ABSTRACTDysmenorrhea is mild pain that can be tolerated without medicine, however, severe conditions can disturb daily activity or be absent in school. The main trigger of primer dysmenorrhea is a prostaglandin that has an important role in causing cramps, contraction, and other symptoms. The way to overcome dysmenorrhea can be done by using carrot juice in which very rich in carotene, pectin, asparagine, fiber, fat, carbohydrate, calcium, phosphorus, iron, sodium, amino acids, essential oil, beta carotene, and A, B, C, D, E, K vitamin. Vitamin E helps block the formation of prostaglandin and helps in overcoming the effects of increased prostaglandin so that it is very effective in decreasing pain.  Counseling activity was done in the worked area of Mulya Asri’s Public Health Center on 15th March 2021.  This activity was started by doing a pretest, delivering the material, demonstrating in making juice, and ended by evaluating in the form of the posttest. Recently, application of high-pressure homogenization (HPH) treatments has been widely studied to improve shelf life and rheological and functional properties of vegetable and fruit juices. Another approach that has drawn the attention of researchers is the use of biocontrol cultures. Nevertheless, no data on their possible combined effect on fruit juices shelf life and functionality have been published yet. In this work, the microbial, organoleptic, and technological stability of extremely perishable carrot juice and its functionality were monitored for 12 and 7 days (stored at 4 and 10 °C, respectively) upon HPH treatment alone or in combination with a fermentation step using the biocontrol agent L. lactis LBG2. HPH treatment at 150 MPa for three passes followed by fermentation with L. lactis LBG2 extended the microbiological shelf life of the products of at least three and seven days when stored at 10 °C and 4 °C, respectively, compared to untreated or only HPH-treated samples. Moreover, the combined treatments determined a higher stability of pH and color values, and a better retention of β-carotene and lutein throughout the shelf-life period when compared to unfermented samples. Eventually, use of combined HPH and LBG2 resulted in the production of compounds having positive sensory impact on carrot juice.

Carrot juice is a critical source of vitamins, selenium, and β-carotene, which is suggested to protect from Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). The present study aimed to show the effect of carrot juice supplementation compared to selenium tablet supplementation, so our study includes (44) blood samples belonging to young men with RA. All patients aged (20-45) years, 44 blood samples were obtained before treatment at week (0), twenty-four men with RA were supplied with fresh carrot juice. The other group of 20 patients was given an artificial selenium supplement for 21 days as well, and the results were analyzed. The samples were collected from Kirkuk hospital, and external specialized clinical from October/2019 to September /2020; experimental groups were divided into three groups: Group 1 : (44) men Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) before treatment, Group 2: (24) men with RA+ Carrot juice, Group 3: (20) men with RA +Selenium Tab, We reach to following results: the patients who have RA consumption Carrot juice and patients take up Se tab. show significant decrease respectively in RBCs, WBCs, ERS, and RF compared with the Rheumatoid arthritis group, so as the results show a significant decrease in Leptin, IL-6, C-Reactive Protein, and TNF-α concentrations in comparison with the Rheumatoid arthritis group. In contrast, we found a significant increase in GSH, Selenium concentrations, and VD3 in men with RA administration carrot juice and patients' consumption Se tab. Respectively compared with the RA group and, finally, our finding shows no difference in Ceruloplasmin in experimental groups.

Dysmenorrhea is a condition of a woman who experiences pain during menstruation which has a bad effect and causes disturbances in carrying out daily activities because of the pain. The pain arises due to the presence of the hormone prostaglandin which makes the uterine muscle (womb) contract. If not handled properly, it can reduce the quality of life of women. Treatment of dysmenorrhea can be by giving carrot juice. The content of beta-carotene and vitamin E in carrots can provide analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects that can help block the formation of prostaglandins and overcome the increase in the hormone prostaglandin, which is a hormone that affects dysmenorrhea. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of giving carrot juice to the intensity of dysmenorrhea in midwifery students at Pasir Pengaraian University, Rambah Hilir District, Rokan Hulu Regency. This research method is quantitative analytic with pre-experimental research design with one group pre-test and post-test design. Collecting data using a checklist while data analysis using the T- Dependent test. The sample in this study amounted to 20 female respondents who experienced dysmenorrhea. The results of the data analysis of the average decrease in the intensity of dysmenorrhea before being given carrot juice was 3.65 with a standard deviation of 0.93 and a standard error of 0.20. In the measurement after giving carrot juice, the average pain intensity was 0.30 with a standard deviation of 0.47 and a standard error of 0.10. In conclusion, there was an effect of giving carrot juice to decrease the intensity of dysmenorrhea in midwifery students at Pasir Pengaraian University, Rambah Hilir District, Rokan Hulu Regency with (p value = 0.001). Suggestions for women who experience dysmenorrhea to be able to consume carrot juice. Because the administration of carrot juice can reduce the intensity of dysmenorrhea in women and can be used as an alternative therapy.
