In this study the normal and activated charcoal were used to prepare normal and activated multi walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) from same plant (Citrus aurantium) which is a source of carbon by Chemical Flame Deposition method (CFDM). The obtained products were analyzed using FESEM, FTIR, XRD, and Raman spectroscopy. The FESEM image of normal charcoal revealed that it has much less nanopores than activated charcoal. The ratios of ID/IG for the normal and activated MWCNTs were 0.85 and 0.91 respectively, which shows that use activated charcoal as a source enhance the disorder and the defects on the carbon nanotubes. The results demonstrate and confirmed that a carbon nanotubes which were prepared from normal and activated charcoal have some disfigurements and have converging diameter nearly (31-88 nm) and (37-70nm) for normal and activated MWCNTs with length about (1-2) μm respectively.

This work is focusing on synthesizing the cobalt nanoferrite materials substituted by copper forming Co0.6Ni0.4-xCuxFe2O4 with x = 0.0, 0.1, and 0.3 using the sol-gel auto-combustion method. The phase analysis of XRD showed the spinel structure with the lattice parameter in the range 8.36-8.39 Å. FESEM image showed the grain size initially decreasing and then increasing with Cu concentration. The FTIR curve's two absorption bands in the specified range of frequency assured the spinel nano ferrite structure. The values of remanent ratios obtained from VSM showed their isotropic nature forming single domain ferrimagnetic particles.

Some arsenic compounds can show extraordinary polymorphism. Realgar (As4S4) is among several minerals with various crystal forms and is one of the most important sources of arsenic for pharmaceutical use. Currently, realgar is used as an arsenic source in many industries, such as weaponry, publishing, textiles, cosmetics, and health products. In this paper, we used and reported new methods for the purification, nanonization, and structural morphological investigations of As4S4by using planetary ball mills process for nanonization of the compound. The product was characterized using X-ray powder diffraction analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectrometry spectra, and field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) imaging. We investigated the morphological properties of FESEM-imaged realgar nanoparticles by an image-processing technique that calculates fractal dimensions using values on a computer with MATLAB software. We applied the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences software for statistics data extracted from the FESEM image and obtained the statistics results of the fractal dimension and histogram plot for the FESEM image.

Titania (TiO2) nanotube gaining predominance as a bioceramic due to its excellent features such as high specific surface area and exhibiting appropriate cellular response. At present, we showed a conversion from titania nanoparticle to nanotube by hydrothermal treatment with 10M soduim hydroxide and 1M HCl solutions at 150°C over 48h. Then the sample annealed at various temperatures. Results indicate the reaction temperature is a main factor in determining the aspect ratio of the tubes. FESEM image conformed the synthesis of nanotube. In vitro study by using 150 °C-synthesized nanotube calcined at different temperatures are also presented establishing the potential of nanotubes in biomedical applications

Electrospun Polymer nanofibers have a wide range of applications including automotive air filters. Large surface area, small pores, flexible and adequate porosity are widely recognized as important parameters for improving the performance of the filter media and therefore measuring the porosity of the medium is extremely important. Porosity measurement techniques such as density based method, mercury porosimetry, capillary flow porometry, image analysis are relatively inaccurate and they have some disadvantages for measuring the porosity of the nano fibers. In the present study porosity measurement for nanofiber mat using pycnometer was explored. Pycnometer is generally used to measure the density of the solids of having volumes upto 150 cc. Volume of the nanofiber was measured by pycnometer and porosity is determined as fraction of the void in total volume of the fiber. Total volume is calculated from FESEM image thickness. Various advantages of pycnometry method when compared to other techniques were discussed based on the results of porosity measurements of nanofiber mats.

Flower-shaped ZnO nanocrystals have been synthesized by a two-step solution based deposition method; mist-atomizer and solution-immersion on seeded glass substrate. The samples are annealed at different temperature in the range of 350 to 500 ᵒC. The structural properties of the samples were studied. Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) micrograph and atomic force microscopy (AFM) images for the ZnO thin films were obtained. Morphological changes due to various annealing temperature are discussed as changes observed in the ZnO crystals. FESEM image of the surface of the ZnO reveal the flowerlike vertical nanorods with hexagonal crossection. The samples with higher roughness analyzed from AFM images indicate that the sample have larger grain. AFM results are found in good agreement and supported the FESEM results.

In this paper we address sensitivity of SnO2 thin film deposited by thermal chemical vapor deposition in terms of its behavior towards humidity variations. The structural, optical and electrical properties of SnO2 thin film deposit at different substrate temperature grown by thermal chemical vapor deposition (CVD) are also reviewed. FESEM image reveal smallest particle size of SnO2 at substrate temperature 500°C. Pl measurement shows red shift of SnO2 at substrate temperature 500°C. All thin film performing slightly linear sensitivities towards relative humidity (RH%).
