This paper addresses the theory of knowledge in relativistic terms of Paul Feyerabend, stressing the importance of personal involvement in the research and theorizing. Since the topic is a constant and widely accepted premise the author is insisting that it has been actually ignored in the sociology and philosophy of science. It is apparent in discursive form, neglected in actual consequences for science in general. Defending the thesis of relativism had remained unacknowledged by the general scientific community. Biographies of mavericks and their struggle and exclusion from scientific community etc. had been constant in the history of science. Is science nowadays able to accept criticism and implement arguments of knowledge beyond the institutionalized standards? Throughout this article we argue that personal involvement creates biased scientific facts; acknowledging and applying tacit knowledge we move beyond personal involvement and create appropriate interpretations of facts and phenomena under investigation, where we reconsider the construction of facts and personal beliefs, knowing that our fields of expertise are incommensurable.

The fundamental question that must be answered by any theory of knowledge that claims to be adequate is the question of how it is possible to change our knowledge. The very fact of change undoubtedly takes place, and the problem is to theoretically explicate this fact. The methodological significance of this issue is due to the fact that changing knowledge means nothing more than its development, namely, the question of the ways and means of developing our knowledge is of central importance both for the logic and methodology of science, and for general epistemology. This work is of a review character, and aims to draw the reader’s attention to a new promising direction in the modern theory of knowledge called “belief revision”.

The purpose of the article. To highlight the peculiarities of the functioning of pop-jazz music in the bayan-accordion art of Ukraine in a certain period. The methodology is based on the basic principles of the theory of knowledge, such as objectivity, scientific character, historicism, integrity, interconnection, and interdependence of phenomena and processes of reality, as well as conceptual provisions of the theory of professional skills. The scientific novelty lies in the coverage of the creative activity of local button accordion players and the systematization of the stages of development and creative achievements of the academic school of the specified period. Conclusions. Pop-jazz music in the context of performing creativity of local and foreign bayan accordionists has a consistent character and develops on the musical basis of Negro folklore, urban culture (genres of everyday dance music - waltzes, polkas, tango, foxtrots, etc.), professional music - improvisations, concert transcriptions, retro suites for jazz themes, jazz-style suites, jazz-rock-partitas). The main factors that influenced the dynamics of the development of pop-jazz music in the bayan-accordion art of Ukraine and abroad were various artistic processes that took place during the period under study, determined by the evolution of quality indicators. W. Sady’s book Struktura rewolucji relatywistycznej i kwantowej w fizyce [The Structure of the Relativist and Quantum Revolutions in Physics] is discussed. In his analysis of the history of physics of XIX and early XX centuries the Author argues, contrary to Kuhn, that grand discoveries result as conclusions from certain assumptions and suitably selected pieces of background knowledge. I point to major Sady’s inspirations — Wittgenstein, Wiśniewski and Fleck — and the kinship of his account to hinge epistemology and my sandwich theory of knowledge. His view on the social nature of knowledge and the role of mathematics is commented upon. In conclusion I suggest that the tension between Sady’s antirealism and traditional truth requirement for knowledge can be resolved by a suitable modification of Ajdukiewicz’s radical conventionalism.

What is the value of Yoruba epistemology, theory of knowledge, particularly its philosophy of perception, to humanity in general, and to contemporary Nigeria, in particular? How does Yorùbá epistemology connect with educational theory and practice in Nigeria? This essay recognizes but goes beyond the more general overviews on classical Yoruba education and its contemporary significance represented in works of Yorùbá and Africanist scholars. I demonstrate the significance of Yoruba philosophy of education beyond its cultural context, by projecting its universal and timeless value, foregrounding its distinctive concepts in dialogue with ideas from other cultures. In its engagement with Nigerian educational dynamics, the essay concentrates, first, on Yoruba epistemology in its intersection with ethical and metaphysical perspectives from Yoruba thought. Second, the essay deploys the African art-centered investigations of the role of the senses in relating with art, understood as paradigmatic of navigating the world.

The article considers the anti-representational paradigm regarding the concept of “language” presented by the American thinker, the founder of neopragmatism, Richard Rorty. Richard Rorty is the most cited philosopher in the Western philosophical community, the popularity of the texts of the American thinker, and the resonance of his ideas in the modern philosophical community are of great interest and discussion. The relevance of the topic in the context of postmodern society is dictated by the fact that modern American philosophy, in particular, neopragmatism and the concept of “language”, are insufficiently studied and covered in Ukrainian philosophical studies. The purpose of the article is to update the discussions about the philosophical tradition of neopragmatism by Richard Rorty regarding the concept of “language”. The research methods of the study are comparative analysis and descriptive reconstruction. In the course of the study, the following provisions of the philosophy of Richard Rorty have been analyzed: criticism of the epistemilogization of the discourse of philosophy; analysis of the main provisions of neopragmatism, in particular, the theory of truth and anti-representational paradigm regarding the concept of “language” as the basic concepts of human culture.The analysis of the specifics of the formulation and understanding of the main philosophical ideas in R. Rorty’s neopragmatic theory of knowledge allows approaching their analysis unconventionally, which does not refute, but complements and deepens the classical concepts, allowing them to be fruitfully applied to solving problems of specific sciences.

The article considers two traditions in the interpretation of the actual infinity. One is associated with the name of Nicholas of Cusa, the other with the name of Rene Descartes. It is shown how Nicholas of Cusa within the framework of his idea of the coincidentia oppositorum overcomes the traditional Aristotelian norms of philosophizing, while Descartes puts the finitist ideology at the foundation of both his theology and the theory of knowledge.

The article is devoted to the problems of formation and positioning of the category of factual communities in legal science. The relevance of this phenomenon in law is due to the need for a broader approach to the study of a set of factual circumstances that are the grounds for the emergence, change or termination of legal relations, which undoubtedly contributes to a more effective implementation of the goals of both lawmaking and law enforcement practice. The purpose of this article is to determine the prerequisites for the formation of the legal category under consideration, to identify the main types of factual communities, as well as to understand their functions. Achievement of this goal will make it possible with sufficient certainty to identify the main characteristics of the specified legal category, as well as to determine functional links with related legal concepts. The methodological basis of the article was made by modern achievements in the theory of knowledge. In the process of research, theoretical, general philosophical (dialectical, analysis, synthesis, deduction, systemic method), as well as traditional legal methods (formal-logical, normative-dogmatic and others) were used. In the course of the research, based on the analysis of the relationship of physical objects, phenomena and their groups among themselves, it was concluded that the term factual communities is a logical continuation of the development of the theory of legal facts, reflects the interconnected association of individual legal facts, as well as their actual composition. Such associations can have a different scope, as a result of which their functionality may also differ. The primary factual commonality is the actual composition. Factual systems are larger in volume and more complex in structure.

This article examines the understanding of academician J.M. Abdildin's dialectical-logical principles and methodology of theoretical knowledge in dialectical logic. In the history of Kazakh philosophy, J.M. Abdildin for the first time deeply investigated the principles of dialectical logic, the methodology of theoretical knowledge, revealed the internal contradictions and definitions of the concept of essence, the key to uncovering the understanding of the subject of dialectical logic is the unity of dialectics, logic and the theory of knowledge. The problem of the contradiction of thinking, concepts in dialectical logic is closely connected with the problem of objectivity of cognition of reality, its spiritual - theoretical comprehension. J.M.Abdildin emphasizes the most important moment of any theory - the choice of the subject area, the identification of the beginning of thinking, the substantiation of the universal principle, the identification of the dialectical connection of the essence, the unity of the individual, the particular and the universal.
