One of the most effective methods towards improving the environmental safety of combustion engines is the application of specially prepared water-fuel emulsions (WFE). The application of WFE makes it possible to reduce primary sulfur fuel consumption and reveals the possibility of capturing the pollutants from exhaust gases by applying condensing low-temperature heating surfaces (LTHS). In order to realize such a double effect, it is necessary to investigate the pollution processes on condensing LTHS of exhaust gas boilers (EGB), especially the process of low-temperature condensing a sulfuric acid vapor from exhaust gases to investigate the influence of condensing LTHS on the intensity of pollutants captured from the exhaust gases. The aim of this research is to assess the influence of the intensity of pollutants captured from exhaust gases by condensing LTHS in dependence of water content in WFE combustion. Investigations were carried out at a special experimental setup. The processing of the results of the experimental studies was carried out using the computer universal statistical graphic system Statgraphics. Results have shown that in the presence of a condensing heating surface, the degree of capture (purification) of pollutants from the exhaust gas flow is up to 0.5–0.6.

Introduction. The article deals with artistic bilingualism which is interpreted as the creative use of two languages in creating works of literature based on precise understanding of the specific features of semantic and pragmatic potential of these languages. The purpose of the article is to identify the features of artistic bilingualism in the work of the modern Udmurt poet B. Anfinogenov. Materials and Methods. The main source of research is the collection of B. Anfinogenov’s poetry “Aishet of the future”. The methodological framework includes linguistic analysis of poetic texts, synthesis and generalization of the achievements in literary studies, structural analysis, etc. The research is based on the use of the descriptive method as well as the method of full coverage and methods of contextual and situational-contextual analysis. Results and Discussion. Based on the analysis of the poetry of the young Udmurt author Bogdan Anfinogenov, it was revealed that one of the techniques inherent in the bilingual communication strategy is the use of code switching, which performs various functions. In addition to the traditional thematic function, emotional, decorative, recipient, factual and emphatic functions of code switching, artistic bilingualism in the work of this author draws the reader’s attention to the Udmurt language and culture. Also, the Udmurt poet deliberately emphasizes changes in the social environment and orientation towards Western culture. In other words, the use of code switching introduces additional semantic nuances into the literary text, a certain system of values, a certain type of modal-emotional meanings. Conclusion. The main constituent elements of code switching are language units representing all language levels: phonetic, morphological, syntactic. Special attention is paid to the phenomenon of code switching, represented at the level of the graphic system of the Udmurt language.

Abstract Background To explore the molecular genetic cause of a four-generation autosomal dominant retinitis pigmentosa family in China. Methods Targeted region sequencing was performed to detect the potential mutation, and Sanger sequencing was used to validate the mutation. Multiple sequence alignment from different species was performed by CLUSTALW. The structures of wild-type and the mutant RHO were modeled by Swiss-Model Server and shown using a PyMOL Molecular Graphic system. Results A novel heterozygous nonsense mutation (c.1015 A > T, p.Lys339Ter, p.K339X) within RHO, which cosegregated with retinitis pigmentosa phenotype was detected in this family. Bioinformatics analysis showed the mutation was located in a highly conserved region, and the mutation was predicted to be pathogenic. Conclusions We identified a novel heterozygous nonsense mutation of RHO gene in a Chinese family with retinitis pigmentosa by target region sequencing and our bioinformatics analysis indicated that the mutation is pathogenic. Our results can broaden the spectrum of RHO gene mutation and enrich the phenotype-genotype correlation of retinitis pigmentosa.

Abstract Only one of two opening compositions in the Codex Xolotl has been recognized. The conventional version shows the entry of Xolotl, Nopaltzin, and six lesser rulers into the Basin of Mexico from near Tula, Hidalgo, followed by settlement at Xoloc and later a place that will become Tenayuca. The manuscript’s two larger fragments, assembled correctly for the first time, show Xolotl and Nopaltzin observing and moving across a more settled eastern basin into regions to the south ranging from Puebla to Morelos, notably including Cuernavaca. At the same time, they and their six followers are shown settled among caves in the western basin around the future Tenayuca. The two Chichimecs attract fellow Chichimecs from the Cuernavaca region to the Tepetlaoztoc region and trouble ensues. These two realizations of a Chichimec vision of empire are well recorded by the remarkable Aztec graphic communication system. Its portrayal of changes to different ways of life over the centuries reveals an interplay of an oral gathering and hunting culture with a settled society, recording the Chichimec experience and their own way of life with their combined oral and graphic system. Elements of the Chichimecs’ visions of empire endure throughout the Codex Xolotl as its messaging power shines across the contact period and into early colonial times.

Indonesia’s Local Content Representation in Asian Games’ 2018 Mascot Design. The Asian Games is a grand event in the field of sports which is held every four years and involves hundreds of athletes from all over Asia. Therefore, the Asian Games, in addition to being a sporting competition, are also allowing the host country to show their development and relevance in the international league. The Asian Games event is also a major concern of President Joko Widodo because of its potential to be the place for attracting investors and also promoting Indonesia’s tourism. One main focus towards this event is shown by using a graphic system and branding following design principles and harmonization with Indonesia’s local wisdom. The representation of Indonesian culture and representation of the motto of the 2018 Asian Games "Energy of Asia" must be embodied in the visual design of the 2018 Asian Games, including logo design, graphic systems, and mascot design   Keyword: Asian Games 2018, vernacular design, mascot design, local content.

The article sheds light on the concept of text graphics and the importance of punctuation in the graphic system of the text, in particular, poetic text. The author elucidates various scholars’ approaches to the definition of the term author’s individual punctuation, with a focus on the system-structural features of some punctuation marks and the most important functions of punctuation as a stylistic device. The article analyzes the expressive and stylistic means used to produce the greatest emotional influence on the listener or reader and classifies them into constructive, emotive, combined, and contaminated groups. The multi-functionality of the author’s punctuation embraces strengthening the aesthetic loading of punctuation marks and expanding the boundaries of their use. The unregulated use of punctuation mark is determined by historical changes and the semantic principles concerning the location of punctuation marks. Author’s punctuation can be interpreted as a substitution of some normatively motivated signs/marks with the unregulated ones; as a text devoid of any marks; as an excessive use of either some particular punctuation marks or only one of them and, on the contrary, their complete absence in the text. The article outlines the main functions of the author’s punctuation: emotional, emphatic, logical, evaluative, semantic, dividing. The individual style, dependence on the functional style, genre, traditions, and norms of a definite historical epoch are the factors that influence the author’s individual punctuation system formation. The author’s punctuation is an interstyle phenomenon because it is inherent in texts of different functional styles. The research findings argue that the author’s individual punctuation system should be interpreted in a broad sense as any conscious, deliberate choice of the unregulated punctuation mark, not fixed in the spelling rules, and in a narrow understanding — all the punctuation marks in the author’s manuscript, which are different from the normative use.
