The article presents the results of the analysis of the marriage satisfaction level of Muslims in monogamous and polygamous families in Russia. Such studies have not been conducted previously despite the fact that this problem is relevant for the institution of family and marriage as a whole. Muslims make up approximately 15 percent of the population of the Russian Federation, and their well-being in family relations is important both for each individual, and for the community and the state as a whole. The study involved 172 people between the ages 18 to 71 years: 85 men and 87 women. The satisfaction of spouses with marital relations was measured using the Russian-language version of Susan S. Hendrik’s (1988) “7-point Relationship Assessment Scale (RAS)” adapted by Sychev O. A. Data analysis was performed using Microsoft Offi ce and IBM SPSS Statistics. The results obtained allow us to conclude that the level of satisfaction of spouses in monogamous marriages is higher than the level of satisfaction in polygamous marriages, and the level of satisfaction with the marriage of the fi rst wives is lower than the level of satisfaction of the second/third/fourth wives. These results make it possible to develop practical recommendations for improving the practical application of theoretical and empirical research data in counseling, therapeutic, adaptive and preventive work with Muslims who are already married and who intend to enter into it.

Background: Postoperative outcomes vary considerably across bariatric patients and may be related to psychosocial factors. In this study, we examined whether a patients family support predicts weight loss and the remission of type 2 diabetes (T2DM) up to 5 years following surgery. Methods: Between 2008 to 2018, 359 patients completed a pre-surgical questionnaire before undergoing gastric bypass or sleeve gastrectomy. As part of the questionnaire, patients described their family support in terms of structure (marital status, number of family members in the household) and function (marriage satisfaction, family emotional support, family practical support). These were applied as predictors to percent total weight loss (%TWL) and T2DM remission at 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 years following surgery. Results: Marital satisfaction was found to be a significant predictor of post-surgical weight trajectories. Namely, patients who reported higher marital satisfaction were more likely to sustain weight loss than patients who reported lower marital satisfaction. Conclusions: Given the link between marital support and long-term weight outcomes, providers could consider asking patients about their spousal relationships during pre-surgical counselling.

Changes in the adolescents’ attitude to their future marriage in longitude are considered. The sample included children from labor migrants’ families aged 12–14 (88 respondents), who were surveyed in 2014 and a part of this sample’s respondents (49 students), who were surveyed in 2017, and, at that time, they were 15–17 full years respectively. Also, in 2014 it was carried out the psycho-diagnostic examination of children from complete families (63 respondents) and 23 of them were surveyed in 2017. Methods. To diagnose the peculiarities of family ideas in longitude, S.V. Hypothesis. There is a possibility that negative tendencies during the formation of family ideas among labor migrants’ children remain constant throughout the adolescent period. Results. Statistical analysis. It is carried out the comparative analysis of family ideas, which adolescents from complete functional families have. The descriptive statistics are used to determine the average, minimum, maximum indicators in the group, the indicators of standard deviation; the Student’s t-criterion. As a result of the longitudinal study of family ideas, it has been revealed that children from labor migrants’ families have negative dynamics in the formation of ideas about the future family, that is, the representations are predictably more and more unfavorable in comparison with children from complete functional families. Conclusions.
