The pattern of news production in the Indonesian television broadcasting industry generally uses two human resources, namely permanent journalists and temporary journalists. Regular journalists are organic employees of television companies. Meanwhile, journalists who are not permanent or contributors only work under a news sale and purchase contract. They are not the organic employees of the television company. They only get honorarium when the news airs. As a result of such a working relationship, the contributors' bargaining position is very weak in front of the television station management. The coverage and news agenda will follow the tastes of television stations. News coverage that is at risk of not airing will be avoided. As a result, there has been neglect of the ideal function of the media in serving the public interest. Based on the political economy theory of media, there has been a commodification of labor in the television news production process.  The object of this research is the process of commodification of contributors in the production of television news.Meanwhile, the subjects of this study were television contributors, and news producers of Jakarta television stations.Other contributors who became research informants were in West Java and Ambon. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Collecting data using in-depth interviews, observation and literature study. The results showed that there has been a commodification of contributors in the production of television news. Television management exploits contributors. Television management promotes false consciousness among contributors who are unaware of the commodification. Mereka bukan karyawan organik perusahaan televisi. Mereka hanya mendapat imbalan honor ketika beritanya ditayangkan.

The broadcasting law number 32, 2002 provides space for developing local broadcasting institutions in the regions, including the Local Public Broadcasting Institute (LPPL) Selaparang TV. On the other hand, the proliferation of local TV also raises many doubts because its competition is also increasing. As a business entity, local televisions face many challenges. Local televisions and other industries need the income that supports its survival as part of the media industry. With a limited source of media income, local television existence inevitably is threatened. Moreover, there are not many large industries or companies in Nusa Tenggara Barat province that can support local broadcasting institutions' sustainability. This phenomenon is interesting to study how local TV can survive in a competitive broadcasting industry with limited advertising sources. The object of this research took one of the local TV stations in East Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Barat province, namely the Local Public Broadcasting Institute (LPPL) Selaparang TV. The data analyzed relied on a media ecology approach. The method used to analyze the data from fieldwork is a descriptive qualitative approach

The concept of different publishing patterns during a day has been employed for many decades in the broadcasting industry. These patterns are close related with dayparts, which are defined as sequential time blocks on comparable days during which the audience size is homogeneous, as is the group depiction using the specific medium. During the first decade of the World Wide Web, Internet media strategy was focused on total web reach, demographics and affinity of content without particular attention to how the nature of the audience changes by time of day. This paper studies the variation of publishing patterns of the top 22 Greek media websites. More than 550 thousand articles were indexed in a period of four and a half months. The study identified distinct WWW time periods that exhibit specific publishing characteristics. Specifically, different categories of news articles present different publishing patterns during weekdays and weekends. The results appear to be in agreement with findings of previous studies.
