In intelligent transportation systems, Vehicular Cloud Computing (VCC) is a new technology that can help ensure road security and transport efficiency. The study and evaluation of performances of a VCC is a topic of crucial interest in these environments. This paper presents a model of the computation resource allocation problem in VCC by considering heterogeneity and priority of service requests. We consider service requests from two classes, Primary service requests and Secondary service requests. We involve a Semi-Markov Decision Process (SMDP) to achieve the optimal policy that maximizes the performances of the VCC system taking into account the variability of resources, the income and the system cost. We utilize an iterative approach to achieve the optimal scheme that characterizes the action to be taken under each state. We validate our study by numerical results that show the effectiveness of the proposed SMDP-based scheme.

Kata Kunci: analisis isi, gojek, grab, iklan, semiotika AbstractGojek and Grab are some of the largest online service companies in Indonesia. Both Gojek and Grab have various types of services, but transportation is the primary service. Road conditions in big cities in Indonesia, especially Jakarta, often experience traffic jams so that two-wheeled vehicles are a popular alternative to driving. As two online transportation companies have the same services and target consumers, Gojek and Grab advertisements tend to have the same message and similar themes but also look different. This study purpose to analyze the meaning of the #gakpakelama by Gojek and #antingaret by Grab campaign advertisements by parsing visual signs to show the distinctions between the two online transportation services. The research was conducted using the content analysis method combined with the semiotic approach of Roland Barthes that analyzed the expansion of the meaning of the sign. From the analysis of the results, it was found that online transportation users are described as young office workers who need solutions in the form of online transportation services that are ready at any time as a solution that can help people struggle with working life in big cities related to time. Keywords: campaign, content analysis, gojek, grab, semiotic

Accuracy in choosing a location is one of the factors that determine the success of a business. Entrepreneurs always have a location close to customers in order to provide primary service to customers so that relationships can be maintained properly. The right business location is expected to meet consumer expectations in order to obtain profit, but if there is an error in choosing a business location automatically the maximum profit will not be obtained by the entrepreneur. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of choosing a business location on sales. The selection of sales locations is very influential on the sales results of traders. Place/location of business is one element of the marketing mix which is very important for the continuity of a business. This type of research includes field research, namely the new market clothing store and the old market in the Rantauprapat. This research is descriptive, because this study seeks to collect existing facts. This research focuses on efforts to reveal a problem and the situation as it is, which is examined is the technique of interviewing and documentation. While the data analysis was carried out using the data obtained in the form of descriptions, then the data were analyzed using inductive thinking. The results of the research indicate that there is a very strong relationship between the place of business and the profit. The place of business has a positive effect on the profits obtained by the trader.

Abstract Background Residents’ preference for primary health care (PHC) determined their utilization of PHC. This study aimed to assess the determinants of PHC service preference among the residents and the trend in PHC service preference over time in China. Methods We employed the nationally representative longitudinal data from 2012 to 2018 based on the China Family Panel Studies. The analysis framework was guided by the Andersen model of health service utilization. We included a total of 12,508 individuals who have been successfully followed up in the surveys of 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2018 without any missing data. Logistic regressions were performed to analyze potential predictors of PHC preference behavior. Results The results indicated that individuals’ socio-economic circumstances and their health status factors were statistically significant determinants of PHC preference. Notably, over time, the residents’ likelihood of choosing PHC service represented a decreasing trend. Compare to 2012, the likelihood of PHC service preference decreased by 18.6% (OR, 0.814; 95% CI, 0.764–0.867) in 2014, 30.0% (OR, 0.700; 95% CI, 0.657–0.745) in 2016, and 34.9% (OR, 0.651; 95% CI, 0.611–0.694) in 2018. The decrease was significantly associated with the changes in residents’ health status. Conclusions The residents’ likelihood of choosing PHC service represented a decreasing trend, which was contrary to the objective of China’s National Health Reform in 2009. We recommend that policymakers adjust the primary service items in PHC facilities and strengthen the coordination of service between PHC institutions and higher-level hospitals.

Professionals who primarily deliver services to children on the autism spectrum employ a range of techniques and supports that are colloquially known as applied behavior analysis therapy. The landscape of evidence supporting interventions for children on the autism spectrum has vastly transformed in the last decade. A substantial, relatively high-quality literature base supports the effectiveness of Naturalistic Developmental Behavior Interventions for supporting development in children on the autism spectrum, yet few professionals serving this population receive training in this category of interventions. Board Certified Behavior Analysts and related professionals are the primary service providers for this population. The purpose of this survey study is to describe and understand the knowledge and beliefs that Behavior Analyst Certification Board certificants have around Naturalistic Developmental Behavior Interventions, and the implications for training the professionals most likely to serve young children on the autism spectrum. A total of 901 respondents completed the survey. Respondents indicated, on average, little to no knowledge of Naturalistic Developmental Behavior Intervention practices and that few believe these practices to be effective or appropriate for the field. We discuss the implications and needs for future training and research in this area. Lay abstract Primary service providers for young children on the autism spectrum and developmentally delayed children use many strategies under the umbrella of applied behavior analysis therapy. The evidence supporting interventions for children on the autism spectrum has changed last decade, and powerful research supports the relative effectiveness of Naturalistic Developmental Behavior Interventions, yet a few professionals serving young children on the autism spectrum receive training in this category of interventions. Board Certified Behavior Analysts and related professionals are the primary service providers for this population. The purpose of this survey study is to describe and understand the knowledge and beliefs that Behavior Analyst Certification Board certificants have around Naturalistic Developmental Behavior Interventions. The survey was completed by 901 respondents. Respondents indicated, on average, little to no knowledge of Naturalistic Developmental Behavior Intervention practices and few believe that these practices are effective or appropriate for the field. Recommendations include increasing training opportunities for related professionals, and changing certification requirements to match the current evidence.

Objective To compare rates of cochlear implant referral and cochlear implantation across different races and to compare audiometric profiles of these patients. Study Design Retrospective study. Setting Academic tertiary care institution. Methods Demographic and audiometric data were collected for patients who underwent cochlear implant evaluation or cochlear implantation from 2010 to 2020. Results A total of 504 patients underwent cochlear implant evaluation; 388 met cochlear implant candidacy criteria, and 258 underwent implantation. Of the patients referred for cochlear implant evaluation, 68.5% were White, 18.5% were Black, and 12.3% were Asian, while the institution’s primary service area is 46.9% White, 42.3% Black, and 7.7% Asian (P < .001). Black patients referred for cochlear implant evaluation had significantly worse hearing (mean pure-tone average [PTA] 84.5 dB, 26.1% word recognition) than White patients (mean PTA 78.2 dB, P = .005; 35.7% word recognition, P = .015) and Asians patients (mean PTA 77.9 dB, P = .04; 36.5% word recognition, P = .04). Black patients who underwent cochlear implant evaluation also had significantly worse AzBio scores than White patients: 24.5% versus 36.7% (P = .003). There was no significant difference in cochlear implantation rates between Black and White candidates (P = .06). Conclusion Black patients undergo cochlear implant evaluation and cochlear implantation at rates disproportionately lower than expected based on local demographics. In addition, Black patients have significantly worse hearing at the time of cochlear implant referral than White and Asian patients. Identifying and increasing awareness of these disparities are essential steps to improving cochlear implant access for potentially disadvantaged populations.
