Research and publication is considered an authenticated certificate of innovative work done by researchers in various fields. In research, new scientific results may be assessed, corrected, and further built up by the scientific neighborhood only if they are available in published form. Guidelines on accountable research and publication are currently set to encourage and promote high ethical standards in the conduct of research and in biomedical publications. They address various aspects of the research and publishing including duties of editors and authorship determination. The chapter presents research and publication system using big data analytics and research data management techniques with a background of information systems and need of information in research data management.

Agartala, the capital of Tripura, is one of the most important and populated cities of North-East India. From the aspect of geomorphology, the whole area is characterized by highlands (tilla) and lowlands (lunga). Tectonically, Tripura falls under very active zone (Zone V). Assessment of tectonic activities of this region is very significant. For identification of tectonic activity, morphological or geomorphic signatures play very important role. The chapter identifies the presence of tectonic activity from morphological signatures in and around Agartala city. Landsat 8 OLI, maps from Geological Survey of India, Google Earth imageries have been used in this study. The presence of some lineaments and sag ponds has been identified on the basis of which fault mechanism of Agartala and Baramura hills has been delineated. This study contains a brief note on the conceptual demonstration of application of GIS and RS technologies and how morphological signatures and satellite images can help us to recognize tectonic activities over a region.

A major part of Indo-Gangetic plain is affected with soil salinity/alkalinity. Information on spatial distribution of soil salinity is important for planning management practices for its restoration. Remote sensing has proven to be a powerful tool in quantifying and monitoring the development of soil salinity. The chapter aims to develop logistic regression models, using Landsat 8 data, to identify salt affected soils in Indo-Gangetic plain. Logistic regression models based on Landsat 8 bands and several salinity indices were developed, individually and in combination. The bands capable of differentiating salt affected soils from other features were identified as green, red, and SWIR1. The logistic regression model developed in the study area was found to be 81% accurate in identifying salt-affected soils. A total area of 34558.49 ha accounting to ~10% of the total geographic area of the district was found affected with salinity/alkalinity. The spatial distribution of salt-affected soils in the district showed an association of shallow ground water depth with salinity.

Cognitive and somatic health is predominantly congruous. Happiness creates a propitious impact on a person's wellbeing. Likewise, stress can be detrimental to a person's overall health. Nevertheless, it is perplexing to truly understand an emotional state of a patient for an unerring diagnosis. Considering the old adage, necessity is the mother of invention, there is a need for a sentimental and emotional analysis tool for the accurate identification of the mental state of the patient. Thus, Sentilyser was created. It is a clinical decision support system. Using the recorded voice of a person, the mood is analyzed using support vector regression. Arousal and valence of the audio file is calculated, and thus, the corresponding mood is predicted. The objective of this chapter is to propose the use of Sentilyser as a part of a patient's diagnosis, which will not only help the physician reach a better conclusion but will also help them in cases where the patients themselves are unaware about their own psychological state.

In the most recent couple of decades, medical image processing stood out within picture preparing research fields because of its nonintrusive nature. Restorative imaging modalities, for example, MRI, CT filter, for the most part, rely upon computer imaging innovation to create or show advanced pictures of the inward organs of the human body, which causes the medicine professionals to envision the internal bits of the body. Here the proposed algorithm is thresholding different tissue type of brain MR image. Modes of the histogram represent different tissue types in brain MR image. So, this algorithm depends on the principle of finding maxima and minima using differentiation of the smoothed histogram. Using discrete differentiation, the author finds the multiple thresholds of brain MR image by selecting proper location of minima. The algorithm can be used as an initial segmentation of different tissue types of brain MR image for further accurate detection of the regions.

Decision makers require a versatile framework that responds and adjusts to the always changing business conditions. The personal information handling arrangement of an organization can offer the least help since it identified with exchanges. For this situation, the decision support system (DSS) joins human abilities with the abilities of PCs to give productive administration of information, announcing, investigation, displaying, and arranging issues. DSS provides a refinement between organized, semi-organized, and unstructured data. Specifically, a DSS lessens the amount of data to a ridiculous organized sum; because of this, choices are made to help the assembling procedure. The objective of these frameworks is to prevent issues inside the generation procedure. This chapter gives an outline of the state-of-the-art craftsmanship writing on DSS and portrays current methods of DSS-related applications inside assembling situations.

IT governance or IT outsourcing both have their own unique benefits but the decision to choose one over other is not always so clear. This chapter examines the impact of globalization of software development and localization of service delivery in the offshore software development and outsourcing services sector. A case study is used to illustrate the key ideas that helped contribute to a successful IT project that was outsourced by a US organization to a transnational IT outsourcing services provider based in India. The two key points illustrated by the case study discussed in this chapter are what are the issues facing a North American company that deals with an IT service supplier thousands of miles and many time zones away and what are the lessons learned from a successful outsourcing relationship.

Tropical cyclones are also known as typhoons or hurricanes. Also, special emphasis is given on the various aspects associated with cyclogenesis, like the six essential parameters required for cyclogenesis as given by W. M. Grey, and Dvorak technique is discussed in this chapter. INSAT-3D is an indigenous advanced dedicated meteorological satellite in geostationary orbit, which was launched on 26th July 2013. INSAT-3D was declared operational by IMD on 15th January 2014. INSAT-3D has four payloads, namely. IMAGER, SOUNDER, data relay transponder (DRT), and satellite aided search, aid and rescue (SAR). Three rainfall estimates are being generated from INSAT-3D, namely, hydro-estimator (HE), INSAT multispectral rainfall algorithm (IMSRA), and QPE (quantitative precipitation estimate). It has been found in this study that IMSRA performs better during initial stages of cyclogenesis (i.e., during T1.0, T1.5, and T2.0); during mature stages T2.5 to T3.0, HE performs better. During weakening stages IMSRA gives better results.

In this chapter, machine learning algorithms along with association rule analysis are applied to measure how the project teamwork success rate depends on various technical and soft skill factors of a software project. A real-life dataset is taken form UCI archive on project teamwork, which comprises of 84 features or attributes with 64 samples. The most effective feature set is therefore selected using meta-heuristic algorithms (i.e., particle swarm optimization [PSO] and simulated annealing [SA]) and then the data are given to support vector machine (SVM) and k-nearest neighbor (KNN) classifier for classification. Association rule mining is also used for rule generation among the different features of software project team to determine support and confidence. This chapter deals with how the project-based learning helps to manifest the students towards professionalism.

Fields with rice-based cropping systems are unique from other wetland or upland soils because they are associated with frequent cycling between wetting and drying under anaerobic and aerobic conditions. This alters the C and N transformations, microbial activities and their diversity, and soil physical properties, depending on the other crop in rotation with rice. This chapter aims to compare the soil quality of vertisols of central plains of Chhattisgarh under rice-wheat and rice-chickpea cropping systems. Soil quality index was developed using analytical hierarchy process (AHP). Five soil quality indicators were selected under minimum datasets including soil organic carbon, mean weight diameter, available water content, available phosphorous and zinc. The results indicated that the rice-chickpea cropping system shows improved soil quality than that of rice-wheat cropping system.
