Chili field school is one of the efforts to increase human resources and increase the productivity of chili crops through the development of human resources. The field school is a learning medium that can shape the behavior of local chili farmers. The purpose of this study is to explain the implementation of the field school program which is seen from the behavior of farmers (knowledge, attitudes, skills). The research method uses explanatory methods. Determining the location of the study with the purposive method. Determination of informants using purposive sampling. Data collection is done by interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis using interactive models Miles and Huberman. Test the validity of the data using source triangulation. The results showed that all farmers experienced behavioral changes related to the study of polybag breeding, seed selection, spacing and control of chili plant organisms. In the study of tillage and liquid organic fertilizer, behavior changes occur in the majority of farmers, while only a minority of farmers experience behavioral changes related to the study of vegetable pesticides.

The use of agricultural equipment and machinery is one way to increase the productivity and efficiency of farming. In order to accelerate the adoption of agricultural equipment and machinery as part of the application of agricultural mechanization, one of which is through the agricultural equipment and machinery service business/usaha pelayanan jasa alat dan mesin pertanian (UPJA). This study aims to analyze the application of agricultural mechanization, especially related to the use of equipment and machinery by UPJA for the rice production system in Banyumas, Purbalingga and Banjarnegara Regencies. Data were obtained, including the ownership of the equipment and machinery, the extent of coverage carried out by the UPJA, the cost of renting the equipment and machinery determined by each UPJA, and the costs incurred for the operation of the equipment and machinery in each UPJA. The results of the calculation of the working capacity of the hand tractor obtained an average of 0.07 ha hour-1. The lack of ability of equipment and machinery operators as well as the topography of the area and soil conditions are factors that affect the working capacity of the hand tractor in this study. UPJA which has a coverage area of more than the Break Event Point (BEP) value means that the UPJA has met the minimum area that must be processed to break even. The results of the calculation of the B/C ratio are that 9 UPJAs are feasible because the B/C ratio > 1 and 10 UPJAs are not feasible because of the B/C ratio < 1. UPJA whose business is not feasible is expected to improve the managerial and performance of UPJA.

This study aims to determine the adoption of farmers and the factors that influence the adoption of farmers in the use of superior varieties of Malaysian cassava. This study was conducted in Sei Rampah Sub-district, Serdang Bedagai Regency from March to May 2021. This location was chosen because it is a cassava-producing village. Determination of the sample using a random sample, ie all members of the population are assumed to have the same opportunity to be selected as the research sample. The data collection method used is observation, interviews and distributing questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability. To determine the level of adoption, a Likert scale model was used and to determine the factors that influence adoption, multiple linear regression analysis models were used. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the adoption rate of farmers in the use of superior varieties of Malaysian cassava in Sei Rampah Sub-district was very, simultaneously the variables of innovation characteristics (X1), communication media (X2), the role of extension workers (X3) and the role of farmer groups (X4) together -equally significant effect on farmer adoption in the use of Malaysia cassava varieties, while partially the factors that significantly influence are the characteristics of innovation (X1), communication media (X2) and the role of farmer groups (X4) while the non-significant influence is the role of extension worker (X3).
