Being a migrant worker is an alternative choice for many Karawang people to get out of the economic hardship. The decision of many women to be a migrant worker indicates the reposition of their role from reproduction to production. However, this creates internal problems, as well as deeply affects their domestic functions and roles, in their families. This research aimed to describe the reposition of women’s role in migrant workers’ families related to their decision to work abroad. Case study was the method used to provide a complete and in-depth view on the subject under study. The subject was multi-sources with ten key informants of female migrant workers from Tempuran District in Karawang Regency. Data were collected through in-depth interview, observation, and library study. The result shows that the reposition of female migrant workers’ role in Karawang is from domestic sphere (as housewives) to public sphere (as breadwinner). It occurs because of family economic pressure, which eventually resolved by working abroad. Although it has a positive impact on the fulfillment of family economic needs, it has a negative impact on psychological and social aspects of abandoned husbands and children.

The relevance of this article is due to the importance of labor migration and remittances from migrant workers for the economy of Tajikistan. The purpose of the article is to determine the impact of remittances on living standards in Tajikistan at both the national and local levels. It is known that labor migration has become a significant socio-economic phenomenon for the country and society, involving a large part of Tajikistan’s population. Using statistical and sociological research methods, the authors show the key trends and the scale of labor emigration from Tajikistan in 1990-2020, as well as the socio-demographic structure of migrant worker flows from Tajikistan to the Russian Federation and other countries, with identification of a new trend towards a reorientation of migration flows to OECD countries. It has been established that migrant remittances have a positive impact on GDP growth, helping to open small businesses, develop entrepreneurship, create new jobs in the private sector, and boost construction. Remittances stimulate additional consumption: migrant workers’ households have more opportunities to meet their basic needs for food, consumer goods and durables, education, etc. The negative impact of remittances is that they actually help to meet only current needs, while the creation of new, high-technology jobs is slow and insufficient, lagging behind population growth. The country thus becomes hostage to external market conditions: the demand for foreign labor and crisis phenomena in the receiving countries.

ABSTRAKUndang-Undang  No 18 tahun 2017 Tentang Pelindungan Pekerja Migran Indonesia (PMI) sangat penting dalam melindungi para PMI yang akan bekerja di Luar negeri. Dimana kita ketahui bahwa mayoritas pekerja migran berasal dari desa, namun selama ini desa nyaris tidak dilibatkan dalam pelindungan calon dan mantan pekerja migran. Padahal untuk memutuskan menjadi pekerja migran dibutuhkan kecukupan informasi dari sumber yang dapat dipertanggungjawabkan. Sejak adanya UU No 18 Tahun 2017, desa berperan dalam melindungi PMI dan keluarganya. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan memberikan pemahaman dan pengetahuan terhadap masyarakat desa Bonjeruk  dan aparat desa tentang pentingnya perlindungan terhadap PMI. Metode yang digunakan adalah sosialisasi Undang-Undang No 18 Tahun 2017 Tentang Pelindungan Pekerja Migran Indonesia. Adapun perwakilan yang hadir dalam kegiatan ini adalah aparat desa, Kepala Dusun, calon PMI, mantan PMI, Tokoh Pemuda. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah aparat desa dan masyarakat mengetahui dan mendapatkan informasi yang jelas tentang  aturan yang baru mengenai perlindungan pekerja migran Indonesia. Kata kunci: sosialisasi; PMI; perlindungan. ABSTRACTLaw No. 18 of 2017 concerning the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) is very important in protecting PMIs who will work abroad. Where we know that the majority of migrant workers come from villages, but so far the village has barely been involved in protecting prospective and former migrant workers. In fact, to decide to become a migrant worker requires sufficient information from an accountable source. Since the existence of Law No. 18 of 2017, villages have played a role in protecting PMI and their families. This service activity aims to provide understanding and knowledge to the Bonjeruk village community and village officials about the importance of protecting PMI. The method used is the socialization of Law No. 18 of 2017 concerning the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers. The representatives who attended this activity were village officials, hamlet heads, PMI candidates, former PMIs, youth leaders. The result of this activity is that village officials and the community know and get clear information about the new regulations regarding the protection of Indonesian migrant workers. Keywords: socialization; PMI; protection.

Working as a female migrant worker has a positive and negative impact. Negative impacts include children who are left without love, this will cause children to experience intellectual, emotional and moral social problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in emotional intelligence of teenagers with the employment status of mothers as migrant workers and non-migrant workers. Method used comparative descriptive research design with cross sectional approach. Sample was 31 teenagers with mothers of migrant workers and 30 teenagers with non-migrant mothers was taken by purposive sampling technique. The study was conducted at Nurul Huda and Mambaul Ulum Islamic junior high school, and also junior high public school 1 Bantur in September 2017. The dependent variable was emotional intelligence, measured by the TEIQue-ASF questionnaire (Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire Adolescent Short Form). Data analyzed by independent t test. The average value of emotional intelligence in teenager with mothers of migrant worker is 129.03, in teenager with non migrant workers is 141.53. P value (0.005) < α (0.05), meaning that there are differences in emotional intelligence in both teenagers, where in teenager with non migrant worker their emotional intelligence is higher. Parental attachments, especially mothers can influence emotional response patterns, so this will affect emotional intelligence. It is recommended to the school to monitor emotional intelligence, because it can have an impact on their social behavior and conduct direction to surrogate family members who work as migrant workers about how to educate children in their teens. Keywords : Emotional Quotient, teenager, Mother Migrant Workers, Mother Non Migrant Workers

Children being left behind by their parents whose migrating are vulnerable to face social problems. Several studies noted the negative impact on migration on the children, but some positive impact on the household prosperity were gained as well. Even though it has the negative impact, international migration has an increasing tendency to become one of the efforts to boost the household economy. This article uses data from CHAMPSEA (Child Health and Migrant Parents in South East Asia) Study which underlined the importance to know the child’s condition as the impact of international migration phenomena towards the family they left behind. Study showed that children being left by migrated parents, especially fathers, gave more positive responses, but those being left by mothers or both of the parents gave more negative responses. Nevertheless, those children apparently had desire to do migration abroad just as their parents did. Apparently the surrounding of the migrants and the better economy of migrant households had in uenced the children to do migration and work abroad as well.

EMPOWERMENT OF FEMALE MIGRANT WORKERS RETIREMENT OF SOLOKURO DISTRICT, LAMONGAN. Solokuro Village is one of the majority of the population being Indonesian Migrant Workers (TKI) and Female Migrant Workers (TKW), as for the background of the large number of residents who choose to work abroad due to economic factors and the lack of jobs that can meet the needs of families in the Solokuro village. This PKM activity will provide assistance to the group of women who are retired after TKW “Sinar Berdikari Business Group” by developing a variety of home-based snack products. The solutions offered in this program are: Help increase production capacity and business marketing management, strengthen business group institutions. The solution offered in this program is by providing production tools, training in business management and marketing, facilitating the formation of business groups in a professional manner, assisting in making media marketing business information technology. The method used in this service is the training method combined using the FGD (Focus Group Discussion) method, participatory assistance. From the results of the Sinar Berdikari Business group assistance and the residents of Solokuro Lamongan, innovation needs to be made to make food made from corn with a variety of flavors and shapes to increase partner productivity, equip partners with good managerial, partners will be able to run their businesses effectively and efficiently, train good packaging methods will increase sales of partners to package a product so that it is more attractive and has high selling power, teaching partners with marketing training can increase the sales volume of partners from the local market to the national market and the need for continuous monitoring and coaching so that the business partners and residents of Solokuro Lamongan can develop accordingly hope.

<p><em>In this study, researchers examined the role of the Village Care for Migrant Workers (Desbumi) program in mentoring female migrant workers in Darek Village, Praya Barat Daya District, Central Lombok Regency. This research is field research with data collection steps, namely interviews, documentation and observation. Therefore, this research aims o find out female migrant worker assistance patterns through the Desbumi program in Darek Village, Praya Barat Daya District, Central Lombok Regency. The results and discussion in this study are that the Desbumi program has three roles. First. Information center provides information to migrant workers about safe and legal migration (safety migrations). Second is the mobility data center, which assists prospective migrant workers in arranging migration filings at the village office. Third, the center for case advocacy, namely the role in providing protection and assistance to migrant workers who experience problems abroad.</em> <em>Meanwhile, the pattern of assisting female migrant workers in the Desbumi program approach is namely. First, pre-work mentoring, namely conducting socialization to the community by bringing migration flyers that have been given by Migrant Care and from the BNP2TKI office in Central Lombok Regency. It then provides an opportunity for people to ask questions about safe migration. Second, after work assistance, the Desbumi program can carry out consolidation and integration with Migrant Care, PPK and BNP2TKI if they encounter problems with migrant workers abroad. Furthermore, they confirm through social media with the Desbumi program in Darek Village, Praya Barat Daya District, Central Lombok Regency. Third, post-work mentoring, where former migrant workers are empowered in the village with various empowerment approaches. These approaches included making crackers, chips, sewing training and soft skills activities supported by the village government, Migrant Care, the Mataram City Panca Karsa Association (PPK), and BNP2TKI Central Lombok Regency </em></p><p> </p><p>Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti mengkaji peran dari program Desa Peduli Buruh Migran (Desbumi) dalam pendampingan buruh migrant perempuan di Desa Darek Kecamatan Praya Barat Daya Kabupaten Lombok Tengah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian lapangan dengan langkah pengumpulan data yakni wawancara, dokumentasi dan observasi. Oleh karenaitu, tujuan dalam penelitian ini yakni untuk mengetahui bagaimana pola pendampingan buruh migrant perempuan melalui program Desbumi di Desa Darek Kecamatan Praya Barat Daya Kabupaten Lombok Tengah. Hasil dan pembahasan dalam penelitian ini yakni, bahwasannya program Desbumi memiliki tiga peran seperti. Pertama. Pusat Informasi yakni untuk memberikan informasi pada buruh migrant tentang bermigrasi yang aman yang legal. Kedua, pusat data mobilitas yakni untuk membantu calon buruh migrant mengurus pemberkasan migrasi di kantor desa. The rapid flow of migrant worker mobility from Lombok to other countries drains almost all villagers of working age. On the one hand, the success of the large number of Overseas Workers contributed to accelerating the growth of income per capita of the villagers, but on the other hand, it continued to accelerate the mobility of the villagers to work abroad despite the high risk route. The departure of a head of a family who becomes a migrant worker abroad will impact on the abandoned family in fulfillment of basic needs that have been fulfilled. The other thing that needs serious attention is the education of the prodigal children who are still in school age. However, a frequent phenomenon, including in Bagik Polak Barat Village, is that the education of children is not getting serious attention, especially the children of migrant workers who are abandoned by their parents abroad. As for the data data collected in this research is the economic level data of migrant workers and junior high school education department. Data completion method used inthis research is done by: Observation, Questionnaire, Documentation and Interview Based on the analysis of the topics discussed in Chapter I and II, it can be drawn a conclusion as follows: 1. Economic income of migrant workers in Bagik Village West Polak Subdistrict Labuapi West Lombok in general is very minimal in accordance with the amount sent by families working abroad. 2. Continuity of education of TKI child in West Bagik Village of Labuapi Subdistrict of West Lombok is varied ie there are only graduated from elementary school. 3. The relationship between the level of income of the families of migrant workers to education in West Bagik Village of Labuapi Subdistrict of West Lombok is at the level of significance of 01% and 05% ie r = 0.654> r-table = 0.279 (05%) and r- count = 0.654 > r-table = 0.361 (1%).

This article aims at proposing an analysis formula on how the mechanism of cultural intermediaries done by Indonesian migrant worker student. The subject of this study were Indonesia migrant worker students in Korea undertaking higher education while under the contract as migrant workers. Various previous research on migrant workers mostly put them as "those who are powerless or unskilled." The emergence of these migrant worker students reflects that there is a change in values in viewing immaterial consumption by migrant workers. There is a kind of trendsetter (role model) that might influence them to enter the university as well as mediate new culture to other migrant workers. In this context, they are mediating the importance of having a higher education. Cultural intermediaries have an important role in creating a new social class. Many research reported, those involved in the work of cultural intermediaries include music critics, fashion directors, bloggers, stylists, advertisers, brand agents- refer to a certain social class. However, there has not been much research on intermediary work carried out by migrant workers. This study conveys a new perspective placing migrant workers as actors involved in mediating "cultural products" and consumption of "tastes" of consumers.

<p>Indonesian Migrant Workers are Indonesian workers who work abroad. They must leave Indonesia at a productive age, by leaving various social problems to bear the burden of solving family economic problems and providing foreign exchange for the country. These foreign exchange heroes in the country where they work are seen as tools to get work done, and not as human beings who need privacy, protection, respect and other human needs. This view has caused many problems, both psychological and social problems that have not been resolved until now, especially for migrant workers who work in the domestic sector, as happened to Marruni, a character of migrant worker in the novel of Sumayyah by NizarAbadzah. Abadzah is seen as a character who comes from the country that uses migrant workers’ services. This study is needed to understand the root problems that have been faced by Indonesian Workers who working in the Middle East. This study aims to find out author’s world view Marruni, the character of Indonesian Migrant Worker in the Novel of Sumayyah by using the theory of genetic structuralism.</p>

The empowerment of Indonesian post-migrant workers (Purna PMI) is carried out continuously to reduce the numbers of Indonesians working abroad. Aside from programs of related agencies, the government also involves direct community participation. This study sought to describe the participatory development communication (PDC) of Forum Purna PMI in Desa Celak, Kecamatan Gununghalu, Kabupaten Bandung Barat. This study used case study approach to provide a complete and in-depth view of the subject under study. The nature of the subject was multi-source, with key informants representing bureaucrats, academics, community leaders and post-migrant workers. Data was collected through interviews, observations and literature study. The results showed that community involvement was an important factor in realizing community development communication. Direct involvement in the planning and implementation of empowerment programs in the village fosters the community awareness to build their village, to get a job, to improve their welfare and to not leave their village in order to be a migrant worker.
