Abstract Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is a widely used environment-friendly fuel. Previous studies have shown an increasing number of LPG-related burns. Our study was designed to evaluate the epidemiologic pattern of these injuries and provide recommendations for burn prevention. This retrospective study included all patients with LPG-related burns from eight burn centers in Zhejiang Province, China between 2011 and 2015. Database variables included patient demographics, accident characteristics, and injury characteristics. The association between different categorical variables was identified using the chi-square test. And the association between two or more means of quantitative variables was analyzed by the one-way analysis of variance or t-test. A total of 1898 patients were included, 47.31% were males and 52.69% were females. The predominant age group was 31 to 70 years (74.50%), and the majority were poorly educated and the incidence peaked from June to September. The most common place of occurrence was home (74.08%) and gas leak (96.52%) was the most common cause. The four limbs (43.33%) were the most frequently affected areas; the mean burn area was 25.19 ± 20.97% of the total body surface area and most patients (46.89%) suffered from moderate burns. The mean length of hospital stay was 17.66 ± 16.55 days and the majority of patients (89.36%) recovered with a 0.84% mortality rate. Our findings reflected that the increase in incidence rate was alarming, and the causes resulting in LPG-related burns have not gained much attention yet. Therefore, this calls for simple but strict measures aiming at each hazardous step during the use of LPG to prevent these burn injuries.

Critical values for testing the significance of many-one contrasts, all-pairs contrasts, and two types of complex contrasts are presented in a single table. The table can be used in connection with four nonparametric analogs of analysis of variance, representing the one-way and two-way cases for dichotomous and ranked data: the 2 × K chi-square test, the Kruskal-Wallis test, the Cochran Q test, and the Friedman test.

Lifestyle And Physical EducationIn order to improve the influence of Physical Education within schools on the creation of a healthy lifestyle, it is essential to analyze students' opinions in regard to this subject and its teachers. The aim of this research was to establish lifestyle typologies and to find out if these are correlated with the perception of Physical Education and its teachers. The participants in this research consisted of 745 teenagers belonging to three different rural environments. In order to establish typologies related to the use of spare time, a cluster analysis was carried out. Then, the relation between lifestyle and the evaluation of Physical Education was determined by means of the Chi-square test. The results show the existence of two lifestyle typologies. The group with a healthier lifestyle is the one that rates Physical Education and its teachers more positively.

Cognitive function varies in each human being, from simple to complex, requiring attention, concentration, and coordination. Cognitive is related to a person's ability to think, solve problems, organize and also to communicate and interact with others and the environment. Methods: cross-sectional research, samples involve the students of medical faculty of Unissula-Semarang with GPA less than 3 and more than 3 graduated in 2018, instrument Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE). Descriptive analysis and Chi-square test. Results and Discussion: samples are 56 students, the highest gender is men (51%), the range of age 18-21 years old (53.6%), the number of GPA is the same as the one below and above 3 there are 28 (50%). Test Chi Square gender difference with P value of 0.422 GPA gender does not have significant difference to the GPA, based on the age of the results of T-test p-value 0.000, showed age had significant difference to the GPA, where the age is getting younger GPA is getting better, based on the scores of MMSE test, it was obtained p 1.000, MMSE score has no significant difference with the GPA. Conclusion: Gender and MMSE value have no difference with GPA, there is difference between age and GPA, the younger the students the better GPA the students achieve.

Abstract This article aims to examine the effects of new technology on the purchase of regional brands in Czechia and draw conclusions that will help to adapt the brands to customer needs. Regional brands are a speciality of Central Europe, which emerged due to consumer dissatisfaction with low-quality of global retail products. These traditional local handmade products are heavily influenced by new technology and customers requiring them to be purchasable online with a massive online presence. The sample consisted of 1050 residents of the Czech Republic. The data were gathered by a professional marketing agency Ipsos using a questionnaire survey. The sample was tested using the one-way Chi-square test, which had good compliance to test the basic sample characteristics, followed with the one-sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov test to test the data distribution, and then, the dependencies were tested with the Kruskal-Wallis test. Finally, a post-hoc test suitable for the type of analysis could be chosen to better understand the type of factors that could influence the results and their possible effect. The main findings indicate a slow change in the demand as customers are neutral in relation to regional brands available from online shops as well as their about social media presence but require them to have a good-quality website. Solutions are proposed using a government-run brand with a platform providing web layouts and hybrid e-shop. The type of content is proposed, indicating the appropriate execution, which should be done based on the researched-derived segmentation criteria.

It is widely accepted that empirical research methods and statistics belong together. This is no different in phraseology. In contrast to the natural and social sciences however, no standardized statistical culture has yet emerged in this field. Empirical research in German phraseology during the last 15 years shows a variety of approaches and analysis methods, which often led to contradictory results. Part of this dilemma can be explained by the fact that statistical methods were ignored, too few participants were involved in the studies, the participants chosen were not representative for the intended group or the statistical tests were improperly used. This article gives a basic introduction to the main statistical tests needed in phraseological research (i. e. chi-square test, t-test, analysis of variance and regression) and clear instructions on when and how to use them. Special attention is drawn to the importance of interactions between different factors (that can be tested with the help of analysis of variance). With this article I hope to have been able to demonstrate that statistics are a necessary tool in phraseology and other linguistic disciplines: on the one hand to organize and to clearly present the data and on the other hand to provide more evidence for regularities in the data.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper i to determine which group – the managerial personnel or the directors of libraries – had a more extensive social network and were more eager to engage in cooperation, in other words – had the qualities believed to be important in managerial positions.Design/methodology/approachThe paper presents the results of research on the levels of individual social capital, as well as the social activity among librarians in 20 countries across the world, which are important for integration with the local community and development of library services.FindingsThe research confirmed that library directors are more active than managerial personnel or line workers, although there were areas in which line workers and managers scored higher than directors. In some areas of civic activity, line workers and managers, rather than directors, led the way.Research limitations/implicationsThis is the first research into the social capital and social activity of the managerial personnel of libraries conducted on such a large scale – in 20 countries across the world. The electronic survey resulted in the total of 6,593 valid responses, which were analysed statistically. The one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) statistics were calculated, and the chi-square test of independence and the Mann–Whitney U test were applied. The level of individual social capital was calculated on the basis of a resource generator – Questionnaire for the Measurement of Individual Social Capital (KPIKS).Originality/valueThis is the first research into the social capital and social activity of the managerial personnel of libraries conducted on such a large scale – in 20 countries across the world. OBJECTIVE: to determine the individual profile of blood concentration of creatine kinase CK in elite soccer players as well as to analyze the CK concentrations in different periods during the Professional Brazilian Championship.METHODS: resting CK of 17 soccer players was evaluated before the competition pre-season and after the matches 36 and 46 hours after the games CKGame for the individual blood CK. The Chi-square test was used to analyze the individual CK during the season. The competitive season was divided into three periods: initial, intermediate and final. The one-way ANOVA with repeated measurements followed by post hoc Student-Newman-Keuls test was used to compare the individual CK of each soccer player in each competitive period. The significance level was set at p<0.05.RESULTS: the highest frequency of individual CK was found in the second quartile 71 observations and the lowest frequency in the first 26 observations and the fourth quartile 40 observations compared to the expected number of 45.8 x2=22.21. CK concentrations were lower in the intermediate mean=66.99% and final mean=60.21% periods than in the initial period mean=89.33%.CONCLUSION: soccer players did not show elevated muscle damage and probably a muscle adaptation occurred in the competition, due to the reduction of CK concentrations observed.

The aging process which happens in elder people has effects on blood pressure. The well maintenance of blood pressure will impact on elder people’s daily activities, included in increasing spirituality. This is the one factor which can control over blood pressure. This research uses cross sectional design with purposive sampling method which had been implemented for 70 elder people and got 33 respondents. Data were collected by giving questionnaire such as elder people charactheristic, Daily Spiritual Experimental Scale (DSES) and Sphygnomanometer used to measure blood pressure. Chi-Square Test by 0,05 significance values is examined as data analysis. The result indicates that the average value of spirituality level is Md 39 + 36-47,5 and the average value of blood pressure level is 160,52 systole and 97,09 diastole. Thus, the results also reveals relationship betwen spirituality level and blood pressure (p value 0,002). This study significance shows that  the higher level of spirituality is, the easily elder people manage blood pressure. Therefore, elder people living in nursing home should increase the spirituality level or their religion to control blood pressure.
