Abstract This study aimed to analyze the concentration change of Aluminum in the soil with addition of MycoSilvi and soil ameliorant in silica sand post mining soil media. There are three types of MycoSilvi, single or combination, added with soil ameliorant which tested on Albizia chinensis (Osbeck) Merrill. The experimental design used was a factorial design with two factors, MycoSilvi (M) consisting of four levels (M0 = without MycoSilvi; M1 = MycoSilvi type 1; M2 = MycoSilvi type 2; and M3 = MycoSilvi type 3) and soil Ameliorant (LC) consisting of four levels (L0C0 = without soil ameliorant; L1C0 = lime; L0C1 = compost; L1C1 = lime and compost). Data analysis used analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results showed that the combination of MycoSilvi and soil ameliorant decreased aluminum concentration from 7.70 to 0.10 cmol(+)/kg and increased pH from 3.20 to 5.67 were positively correlated with total biomass. Significant changes were shown in MycoSilvi type 3 with the addition of lime and compost (M3L1C1). Application of MycoSilvi type 3 (M3L0C0) gave equivalent response with application of lime (M0L1C0) to increased dry biomass, so that lime can be replaced with MycoSilvi type 3 (M3L0C0) to promote plant growth, especially biomass of plant.

Growth improvement of Falcataria moluccana inoculated with MycoSilvi grown in post-mining silica sand soil medium amended with soil ameliorants. Biodiversitas 21: 422-427. High aluminum content in soil of post-mining silica sand area inhibits plant growth. MycoSilvi is an inoculum of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (FMA) enriched with Mycorrhizal Helper Bacteria (MHBs) which plays an important role for improving plant growth in unfertile soil medium. The aims of this research were to analyze the growth response of Falcataria moluccana (Miq.) Barneby & JW Grimes) seedlings treated with MycoSilvi and soil ameliorants (compost and lime) in post-mining silica sand soil medium. The randomized complete design with factorial scheme was used in this study. The results showed that the interactions of MycoSilvi and Soil ameliorant significantly increased height, diameter, biomass and mycorrhizal colonization of F. moluccana. Combination of MycoSilvi variant 3 and lime increased height, diameter, and biomass of F. moluccana by 965%, 147%, and 1427% respectively, as compared to those of control plants. The mycorrhizal roots colonization in those treatments was 98%. The addition of compost and lime increased pH and decreased Aluminum and Fe of the soil medium. F. moluccana seedlings have high mycorrhizal dependency on post-mining silica sand soil media. These results indicate prospective uses of MycoSilvi and soil ameliorants for improving plant growth in unfertile soil medium, including soil in post-mining area.

Abstrak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui pengaruh komposisi media tanam dan konsentrasi giberelin serta ada tidaknya interaksi keduanaya terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil bunga mawar (Rosa hybrida L.). Telah dilaksanakan penelitian di Dusun Sumber Rejo, Desa Sei Bamban Kecamatan Batang Serangan Nomor 25, Langkat - Sumatera Utara pada bulan April hingga Agustus 2019. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) pola faktorial 4 x 3 dengan 3 ulangan. Faktor pertama yang diteliti adalah komposisi media tanam (M) yang terdiri dari 4 taraf yaitu : M0 (tanah), M1 (tanah + pupuk kandang (1:1)), M2 (tanah + sekam (1:1)), M3   (tanah + pupuk kandang + sekam (1:1:1)) dan faktor kedua adalah konsentrasi giberelin yang terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu : G0 (0 ppm), G1 (200 ppm), G2 (400 ppm) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT) pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian ini adalah media tanam berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah cabang umur 30 HST. Komposisi terbaik dijumpai pada perlakuan media tanah+pupuk kandang+sekam.  Giberelin berpengaruh sangat nyata  terhadap panjang cabang umur 30 HST, berpengaruh nyata terhadap  jumlah cabang umur 30, 60 dan 90 HST, dan jumlah helai bunga. Konsentrasi terbaik untuk pertumbuhan mawar dijumpai pada konsentrasi giberelin 400 ppm. Terdapat interaksi yang nyata pada kombinasi perlakuan komposisi media tanam tanah + sekam dengan pemberian konsentrasi 200 ppm terhadap diameter bunga tanaman mawar.  Effect of Growing Media Compotition and Gibberellin Concentration on the Growth and Yield of Rose Plant (Rosa hybrida L.)Abstract.This research aims to find out the influence of the growing media composition and gibbberelline concentration, and their interaction on the growth and yield of rose flower (Rosa hybrida L.). This research had been held at Sumber Rejo village, Sei Bamban, Batang Serangan number 25, Langkat - North Sumatera from March to August 2019. The design used in this study was factorial block randomized with 4x3 factorial pattern and three replications. Design are two factors studied, the first factor is the composition of the planting media (M) which consists of four levels, there were : M0 (soil), M1 (soil + manure (1:1)), M2 (soil + rice husk (1:1)), M3  (soil + manure + rice husk (1:1:1)) and the second factor is concentration of gibberellin that was consist of three levels, that were : G0 (0 ppm), G1 (200 ppm), G2 (400 ppm) and continued with Low Significant Different (LSD) at 5% level. The results of the study shows that the growing media affect significantly the number of branches at the age of 30 DAP. The best composition of the planting media was found in the treatment of soil media + manure + rice husk. Gibberelline concentration affected significantly of the number of branches at the age of 30, 60 and 90 DAP, length of the branches at 30 DAP and the number of flowers. The best concentration for the growth of Rose is 400 ppm an gibberelline concentration. There was interaction strands between the composition of growing media and gibberlline concentration on the diameter of flower on the rose plant on the combination treatment of composition of the soil + rice husk media by giving concentration of 200 ppm.

This objectives of this research were both to study and determine the best level of concentration of yeast Saccharomyces cereviseae and period of fermentation on the quality of tomi-tomi vinegar (Flacourtia inermis). A completely randomized experimental design with two factors of treatment was applied in this research. The first factor was concentration of yeast S. cereviseae having four levels of tretament, i.e.: without the addition of yeast 0.5, 1 and 1.5 g yeast. The second factor was period fermentation with 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 weeks. The result indicated that the concentration of yeast S. cereviseae 1.5 g and period fermentation 5 week produced a good tomi-tomi vinegar with total acids 51.22%, total dissolved solids 8.35, total sugar 8.07% and pH 5.40.

AbstractWe constructed a mining soil restoration system combining plant, complex substrate and microbe. Sludge was added to reconstructed mine substrates (RMS) to accelerate the reclamation process. The effect of sludge on plant growth, microbial activity, soil aggregate stability, and aggregation-associated soil characteristics was monitored during 10 years of reclamation. Results show that the height and total biomass of ryegrass increases with reclamation time. Sludge amendment increases the aggregate binding agent content and soil aggregate stability. Soil organic carbon (SOC) and light-fraction SOC (LFOC) in the RMS increase by 151% and 247% compared with those of the control, respectively. A similar trend was observed for the glomalin-related soil protein (GRSP). Stable soil aggregate indexes increase until the seventh year. In short, the variables of RMS determined after 3–7 years insignificantly differ from those of the untreated sample in the tenth-year. Furthermore, significant positive correlations between the GRSP and SOC and GRSP and soil structure-related variables were observed in RMS. Biological stimulation of the SOC and GRSP accelerates the recovery of the soil structure and ecosystem function. Consequently, the plant–complex substrate–microbe ecological restoration system can be used as an effective tool in early mining soil reclamation.

Abstract Plant growth is influenced by seed quality. Seeds need to be treated to prevent pest and disease disorders or to increase seed germination. Soybean planting was carried out in this study by the treatment of varieties and seed pre-treatment application before planting. The study aimed to measure the growth and yield of soybeans by varieties and seed treatment before planting, carried out in the Village of Nggembe, District of Bolo, Bima Regency. The study used factorial randomized block design with two factors. The first factor was soybean varieties consisting of two levels, namely Devon and Dena varieties, and the second factor was the application of pre-planting seed treatments consisting of four levels namely Cruiser, Marshall, Agrisoy, and without seed treatment, each treatment was repeated three times. Observations were made on the performance of agronomic crops and soybean yields. The results showed that the treatment of soybean varieties and the application of seed treatment had a significant influence on plant height and soybean productivity, and both treatments had interactions on parameters of plant height, number of filled pods, weight of 100 seeds, and soybean productivity with the best results successively produced by a combination of Devon-Control, Devon-Marshall, Devon-Agrisoy, and Dena-Cruiser.

   Pakcoy is a type of mustard plant that is quite popular with the community, it is very suitable to be cultivated considering the need for vegetables is quite large. The community's need for fresh and pesticide-free vegetables is a choice now in line with the community's understanding of a healthy diet. Alternatives to fulfillment are chosen by planting with hydroponic media. Hydroponics is a substitute for soil media that can be used to grow vegetable crops. The presence of hydroponics is expected to be able to overcome the narrowing of agricultural land and reduce the use of pesticides considering that pesticides greatly affect human health and the environment.   This study aims to determine the effect of nutritional doses of AB mix agrifarm and age of seedlings and their interactions on the growth and yield of pakcoy plants, this study is carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Tabanan University which began on 9 December 2018 until 12 January 2019.   The study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of two factors. The first factor is the nutritional dose of AB mix agrifarm (N) which consists of three dose levels, namely the dose of 850 ppm, 1050 ppm and 1250 ppm. The second factor is the age of seedlings (U) which consists of two seedling age levels, namely the age of seedlings 1 week and 2 weeks. Each treatment is repeated four times.   The results of the study obtained the interaction of dose agrifarm treatment with seed age showed a very significant effect (p 1 0.01) on all parameters except for the parameters of the number of leaves aged 35 days old which showed no significant effect (p 5 0.05). The economical wet weight of plant-1 and BKO of the highest yield of 1-crop yield is produced in the combination treatment of N3U, which amounted to respectively 244.09 g and 78.10g or increased respectively by 57.78% and 293.85% compared to results the lowest produced by the combination treatment of N1U1 is 154.71g and 19.83g

In the present field study, the capability of Canada thistle to develop shoots from intact roots and root fragments at different soil depths was studied. The experiments were performed on four sites with high-density Canada thistle, with three or four replications per treatment. At each site, the soil in the plots was removed layer by layer (to 30 or 40 cm, depending on the site), within a 1 by 1-m quadrat, and spread out on a plastic sheet. All roots and other plant parts were removed, and the soil was either replaced without any root material (two sites), or the roots of the thistles were cut into 10-cm-long fragments and replaced into the source holes (two sites). The measured variables were shoot number and biomass. The number of shoots of Canada thistle decreased with increasing depth (P < 0.001) and increased with time. Additionally, the two factors interacted (P < 0.001) such that shoot development was slower from greater depths. Roots from ≤ 20 cm depth produced higher biomasses than did roots from below 20 cm depth. Replacement of root fragments did not affect the amount of biomass produced. It was concluded that the intact root system contributed considerably more to the total biomass produced by Canada thistle than did the root fragments in the upper soil layers.

ABSTRAK Buah pisang Cavendish merupakan salah satu produk hortikultura yang rentan mengalami kemunduran fisiologis dan sangat rentan terhadap kerusakan fisik setelah panen. Penggunaan berbagai konsentrasi asap cair bambu tabah dengan lama perendaman yang berbeda dapat digunakan sebagai pengawet alami. Buah pisang yang digunakan adalah pisang Cavendish yang berasal dari Kabupaten Buleleng, dalam satu sisir berisi paling sedikit10 buah dengan panjang rata-rata 18.89 cm dan berat rata-rata 125  gram (g). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menemukan kombinasi perlakuan terbaik dari perlakuan konsentrasi asap cair dan lama perendaman untuk menjaga kesegaran dan masa simpan pada buah pisang Cavendish selama penyimpanan. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) faktorial dengan dua faktor, yaitu faktor pertama adalah konsentrasi asap cair bambu tabah dan faktor kedua adalah lama perendaman. Faktor pertama terdiri dari empat taraf konsentrasi yaitu 1%, 3%, 5%, dan 7%. Faktor kedua terdiri dari tiga taraf lama perendaman yaitu 10 menit, 20 menit dan 30 menit dengan suhu penyimpanan menggunakan suhu ruang (28±2oC).  Parameter yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah laju respirasi, susut bobot, kekerasan, TPT, tingkat kerusakan, dan organoleptik. Hasil interaksi terbaik ditunjukkan pada perlakuan 7% konsentrasi asap cair bambu tabah dan perendaman 10 menit, dengan nilai rata-rata parameter laju respirasi 51.18 ml CO2/kg.jam, nilai rata-rata susut bobot dengan nilai 17.61%, nilai rata-rata kekerasan 3.82 kg, nilai rata-rata TPT 15.65 %Brix, nilai tingkat kerusakan 2.40, nilai rata-rata organoleptik rasa sebesar 4.67, aroma sebesar 4.54 dan warna sebesar 3.87. Disimpulkan bahwa kombinasi perlakuan A4B1 (konsentrasi asap cair bambu tabah 7% dengan perendaman selama 10 menit) adalah kombinasi terbaik untuk menjaga kesegaran dan memperlambat penurunan kualitas buah pisang Cavendish hingga akhir periode penyimpanan hari ke-15. ABSTRACT Cavendish banana one of the horticultural products that are prone to physiological setbacks and very vulnerable to physical damages after harvest. Various concentrations of tabah bamboo liquid smoke with different soaking times can use as natural preservatives. The bananas used in this study were Cavendish bananas from Buleleng, every bunch consists of at least ten banana with a length of 18.59 cm and a weight of 125 ± 5 g. This study aims to find the best treatment combination of the treatmentoof liquid smoke concentration and soaking time to maintain freshness and shelf life of Cavendish bananas during storage. The experimental design used in this study was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors, the first factor was the concentration of tabah bamboo liquid smoke, and the second factor was the soaking time. The first factor consists of four levels of concentration namely 1%, 3%, 5%, and 7%. The second factor consists of three levels of soaking time, namely 10 minutes, 20 minutes and 30 minutes with storage temperature using room temperature (28 ± 2oC).  The parameters observed in this study are: repiration rate, weight loss, hardness, level of damages, TPT and organoleptics. The best interaction results are shown in the treatment of 7% concentration of tabah bamboo liquid smoke with 10 minutes of soaking with an average value of respiration rate parameters of 51.18 ml CO2 / kg.hour, an average value of weight loss with a value of 17.61%, an average value of hardness of 3.82 kg, the average value of TPT was 15.65% Brix, the value of the level of damage was 2.40, the average organoleptic value of taste was 4.67, aroma was 4.54 and color was 3.87. The conclus of this study indicates that the combination of A4B1 (7% tabah bamboo liquid smoke concentration with soaking for 10 minutes) is the best combination to keep freshness and the quality of green bananas until the storage period of the 15th day.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji interaksi kombinasi perlakuan antara rasio starter dan  konsentrasi ekstrak buah naga merah (Hylocereus polyrhizus) pada yogurt drink terhadap aktivitas antioksidan, BAL, viskositas dan nilai L*a*b*. Penelitian dengan menggunakan desain eksperimen rancangan acak lengkap pola faktorial dengan dua faktor dan tiga kali pengulangan. Faktor pertama adalah rasio starter, mempunyai tiga taraf yaitu S1,1 (L. bulgaricus + S. termophilus): 1 B. longum; S2,1 (L. bulgaricus + S. termophilus): 2 B. longum; dan S3, 2 (L. bulgaricus + S. termophilus): 1 B. longum dan faktor kedua konsentrasi ekstrak buah naga merah mempunyai empat taraf dengan T0 tanpa buah naga merah, T1 ekstrak buah naga merah 5%; T2 ekstrak buah naga merah 10%; T3 ekstrak buah naga merah 15%. Variabel yang diuji aktivitas antioksidan, BAL, viskositas dan warna . Variabel dianalisis dengan ANOVA pada taraf 5% dan  dilanjutkan dengan uji Wilayah Ganda Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya interaksi rasio bakteri dengan konsentrasi ekstrak buah naga merah terhadap aktivitas antioksidan dan  pengaruh nyata (P<0.05) terhadap viskositas dan nilai  L*a*b* sedangkan pada  jumlah  BAL tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0.05). Semakin tinggi rasio Bifidobacterium longum menghasilkan kenaikan viskositas dan semakin tinggi penambahan  konsentrasi ekstrak buah naga merah menghasilkan  kenaikan nilai a (warna merah - hijau)  sedangkan viskositas, nilai L (kecerahan) dan nilai b (biru – kekuningan) mengalami penurunan, dan jumlah BAL tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap perlakuan.The  purpose of this research was to evaluate the interaction combination of treatments between starter ratio and the concentration of red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) extract of yogurt drink to  antioxidant activity, LAB, viscosity and L*a*b* score . The experiment design of  this research was completely randomized design  of factorial pattern with two factors and three replications. The first factor was a starter ratio, with has  three levels of  S1, 1(L. bulgaricus + S. termophilus): 1 B. longum; S2, 1( L. bulgaricus + S. thermophilus): 2 B. longum; and S3, 2 (L. bulgaricus + S. termophilus):1 B. longum) and  the second factor was the concentrations  of red dragon fruit extract having four levels (T0,  without red dragon fruit extract; T1, red dragon fruit extract 5%; T2, red dragon fruit extract 10%; T3, red dragon fruit extract 15% ). Variables tested for antioxidant activity, BAL, viscosity and  L*a*b* score . The variables were analyzed by ANOVA at 5% level  and continued by Duncan Multiple Range Test . The result showed that the interaction of bacteria ratio with red dragon fruit extract concentration on antioxidant activity and significant effect (P <0.05) on viscosity and L*a*b* score  while in LAB did not have significant effect (P> 0.05). The higher  ratio Bifidobacterium longum  resulted in increased viscosity and the higher concentration of red dragon fruit extract yields a (red - green) value rises while viscosity, L (brightness) and b (blue - yellow) values decrease.

This study aims to determine the performance yield component of sweet corn and weed density due to different kinds of fertilizer treatments. This study uses a randomized complete block design (RCBD) in factorial patterns with two factors. The first factor is biofertilizer-Arbuscular mycorrhiza fungi (biofertilizer-AMF) which consists of four levels, namely without biofertilizer-AMF (A0), biofertilizer-AMF 5 g/planting hole (A1), biofertilizer-AMF 10 g/planting hole (A2), biofertilizer-AMF 15 g/planting hole (A3). The second factor is cow manure fermented consisting of three levels, namely without cow manure (B0), cow manure 5 tons ha-1 (B1), cow manure 10 tons ha-1 (B2) with 3 replications so that there are 36 experimental units. The variables observed in this study were: cob length (cm), cob diameter (cm), number of seed rows, cob weight with husk (g), cob weight without husk (g) productivity of sweet corn plants (ton ha-1) and kinds of weeds and their absolute density. The results showed that the highest average corn crop productivity was obtained in the treatment without biofertilizer-AMF and cow manure fermented 10 tons ha-1 (A0B2) as 8.52 tons ha-1. If the combination of treatments contained biofertilizer-AMF and cow manure fermented, the highest average productivity of sweet corn was obtained in the treatment of biofertilizer-AMF 5 g/planting hole and cow manure fermented 10 tons ha-1 (A1B2) as 7.19 tons ha-1. The highest weed density from broadleaf is H.capitata (34.167%), from grasses is I.cylindrica (32.432%) and from sedges is Cyperus sp (30.21%).
