Purpose This paper aims to verify the effect of 12 weeks of grape juice (GJ) consumption associated with aerobic exercise on the variation of the hypertensive elderly pressure. Design/methodology/approach A total of 45 hypertensive elderly of both sexes were distributed into: control group (CG, n = 10), exercise group (EG, n = 10), juice group (JG, n = 12) and juice and exercise group (JEG, n = 13). Blood pressure and heart rate were checked weekly before exercise in JG and JEG, and before and after intervention in all groups, with JG and JEG supplemented with 200 mL of GJ. Three weekly sessions of moderate walking were applied. Findings There was a reduction in EG, JG and JEG for systolic pressure and diastolic only for JG and JEG. The GJ consumption to the practice of aerobic exercise provided reductions in the arterial pressure of hypertensive, in addition to stabilization of the diastolic pressure. Research limitations/implications Although the objective of the study was to compare the effect and value of intervention with controls, the study had no intervention in food consumption, which could have led to more significant results. There was a limitation in the control drink, leading the study not to be blind, which may have impaired the results. However, it is probably not a bias, as the groups were divided by residence area, and therefore, had no direct contact with the other groups. Another limitation was that the sample size was still small, which would lead to more reliable results. Finally, although the existing limitations cannot be disregarded, the results of this research are very promising, especially when the objective is the effect of GJ and aerobic exercise on blood pressure, with the possibility of implementing supplemental GJ and the inclusion or not of exercise to the hypertensive elderly. Originality/value The paper deals with the benefits of GJ consumption associated with aerobic physical exercise on the blood pressure of elderly hypertensive patients. Considering that GJ along with physical exercise was enough to reduce the blood pressure of hypertensive elderly, this may be a new model to be used to reduce and/or control blood pressure, and GJ and the exercise to be part of the daily life of the population.

BACKGROUND Physical exercise is strongly associated with the release of β-endorphin. It is assumed that the type and intensity of physical exercise contributes to the release of β-endorphin. This study aimed to compare levels of β-endorphin in brain tissue in response to aerobic and anaerobic physical exercise. METHODS This study was an experimental laboratory study using 35 male Wistar rats divided into one control group and two physical exercise treatment groups: aerobic and anaerobic. Physical exercise was conducted on an animal treadmill running at aspeed of 20 m/min for 30 min of aerobic exercise and 35 m/min with 1-min intervals every 5 min for 20 min for anaerobic exercises. Each aerobic and anaerobic exercise group was furtherly classified into three subgroups (1×/week, 3×/week, and 7×/week). β-endorphin levels were determined using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The data were analyzed using independent t-test and one-way analysis of variance. RESULTS The highest mean of β-endorphin level was found in the weekly exercise (54.45 [1.41] pg/ml) of aerobic exercise group and daily exercise (70.50 [11.67] pg/ml) of anaerobic exercise group. Mean of β-endorphin level in control group was 33.34 (3.54) pg/ml. A significant increased of β-endorphin mean level (p<0.001) was found in all aerobic and anaerobic exercise groups except the aerobic exercise 7×/week group(37.37 [6.30] pg/ml) compared to control. CONCLUSIONS Both aerobic and anaerobic physical exercise conducted for 6 weeks could increase the level of β-endorphin in brain tissue.

Objective: This study attempted to determine whether the effects of physical exercise were reflected in the resting electroencephalographic (EEG) pattern of ADHD children. Method: Thirty-two ADHD children were assigned to either an exercise group or a control group. The exercise group participated in a water aerobics program for 8 weeks, whereas no intervention was administered to the control group. Resting EEGs were recorded under open-eyes condition before and after the intervention. Data from eligible participants, 15 from the exercise group (11 boys and 4 girls, 7.93 ± 1.02 years) and 14 from the control group (14 boys, 8.27 ± 1.04 years), were further analyzed. Results: While controlling for the baseline resting EEG, separate ANCOVAs indicated that the exercise group showed smaller theta/alpha ratios over the frontal and central brain sites after the intervention compared with the control group. Conclusion: This finding suggests that aerobic exercise may enhance the cognitive functions of children with ADHD, as reflected in resting EEG.

Hypertension is defined as a persistent blood pressure where the systolic pressure is above 140mmHg and the diastolic pressure is above 90 mmHg. Empowering patients by providing ongoing care services can create ongoing communication, building relationships between clients and service providers so that they will increase patients' confidence in overcoming problems. The visit of hypertensive patients has increased every month, health education about hypertension diet is generally carried out when the patient is diagnosed with hypertension and does not regularly monitor the implementation of the diet. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in the effect of the approach to sustainable nursing services through health education about diet to changes in blood pressure of hypertensive patients. The research method uses a quasi-experimental design pre-post test with the control group. The study population was 108 respondents, the sampling technique used purposive sampling and obtained a sample of 33 respondents for each intervention and control group. Patient characteristics data were taken using a questionnaire, while blood pressure data was carried out by blood pressure examination. Data analysis used univariate, bivariate analysis with paired t-test statistical test. The results showed that there was a significant influence on diet health education on changes in elderly behaviour.

Objective Gut microbiome has a significant impact on human health through the interaction with host and environment, which is closely related to a series of chronic diseases. The diversity of gut microbiome and its metabolic disorder are the risk factor of hypertension. The changes of gut microbiome structure and abundance are closely related to the pathogenesis of hypertension, in which Bifidobacterium and lactic acid bacteria can bind with the hypotensive substances to show the hypotensive therapy. However, the diet and exercise have great impact on the structure and function of gut microbiome, and of which aerobic exercise could increase the ratio of gut beneficial bacteria to harmful bacteria effectively. The effect of treadmill exercise on gut microbiome of hypertensive mice was studied in this paper, which provided a theoretical basis for the prevention and treatment of hypertension by gut microbiome. Methods SPF Kunming mice were fed with 8% high salt diet for 6 weeks to make the hypertension model. Compared with the blood pressure of mice before the formal experiment, The standard was that the blood pressure of the experimental mice was increased by SBP >15% or DBP > 5%, which was indicated the model of hypertension was established successfully. The motion slope and velocity of the maximum oxygen uptake of 30%, 50%, and 70% were measured respectively. The mice were divided into 4 groups randomly according to their body weight, 10 mice/group. The 30% VO2 max, 50% VO2 max, and 70% VO2 max were exercised for 6 weeks as well as the control group. The mice were divided into cages and fed in accordance with the national standard rodent diet. The blood pressure of mice was measured weekly by tail pressure method (Tail-cuff).The abundance of Bifidobacterium, Bacteroides, Lactobacillus and Enterobacter in the gut microbiome of mice feces were tested by 16S sequencing every two weeks. The ratio of Firmicute / Bacteroides (F/B ratio) was also measured by sequencing as a parameter to reflect the disorder of gut microbiome. The ratio of Firmicutes / Bacteroides is almost equal 1, and the present study found that the F/B increased significantly in the hypertensive group. Real-time PCR was used to detect the changes of plasma inflammatory factors IL-1β, IL-6 and TNF-ɑ. The previous study had shown that the intestinal disorders can lead to an increase in pathogenic bacteria, further leading to the inflammation. Finally, the experimental data were analyzed by independent sample t-test. Results (1) After six weeks of exercise intervention, the blood pressure (132.87mm Hg±5.23mm Hg) of the exercise group was significantly lower than the control group (99.57mm Hg±7.47mm Hg), especially in the 50%VO2 max mice. (2) Compared with the rest group, the abundance of gut microbiome in the exercise group was increased, among which the number of Bifidobacteria, Lactobacillus, and Bacteroides were increased significantly, of which 50% of VO2 max group increased most significantly, and the number of Enterobacter was less than the control group (p<0.05). (3) Compared with the control group, the ratio of F/B in the exercise groups were lower than the control group, but the 50% VO2 max group was decreased most obviously (p < 0.05). (4) Compared with the control group, the plasma levels of IL-1β, IL-6 and TNF-ɑ in exercise groups were significantly lower than the control group (p < 0.05). Conclusions  (1) The aerobic exercise could change the abundance and structure of gut microbiome in hypertensive mice, increase the beneficial bacteria Bifidobacteria and lactobacillus in the intestinal tract of mice, and reduce the ratio of Firmicutes/Bacteroides, improving the gut microbiome disorder. (2) The aerobic exercise could alleviate the inflammatory reaction of the body by regulating the structure of gut microbiome of hypertensive mice, improving the blood pressure of mice; (3) 50%VO2 max was the most significant exercise intensity to improve the abundance and structure of gut microbiome in hypertensive mice.

Objective Breast cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in women.The number of women diagnosed with breast cancer each year is also increasing.It is also the leading cause of cancer deaths in women, accounting for 14-23% of cancer deaths.However, with the development of medical technology, the survival rate of breast cancer patients is improving.In general, the treatment of breast cancer mainly includes surgical treatment, adjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy,But these treatments can do a lot of damage to breast cancer patients.These injuries can limit some of the physical activity of breast cancer patients, and can be accompanied by significant psychological damage,Therefore, the quality of life of breast survivors is largely destroyed.Physical exercise is one of the important ways to improve the overall health of the human body.It also plays an important role in increasing people's mood and quality of life.So whether physical exercise has a positive impact on improving the quality of life of breast cancer survivors or there is some doubt.Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to explore the impact of physical exercise on the quality of life of breast cancer survivors, and then to prove the impact of supervised exercise and individual exercise on the quality of life of breast cancer survivors. Methods Data bases searched were MEDLINE, EMBASE, CINAHL, PubMed.Keywords were“breast cancer and quality of life” in combination with “exercise”or “physical activity”.At the same time, the references of the included articles were reviewed to obtain more relevant studies.In terms of the criteria for inclusion and exclusion of literature, the paper was initially screened to determine whether the title and abstract of the paper were consistent with the research topic.The criteria for inclusion are ①the subjects were breast cancer survivors,②the type of intervention was physical exercise,③the measured result is quality of life,④the type of experiment is randomized controlled trial.The exclusion criteria of the article are ①the subject's occupation was athlete,②quality of life is not measured on a formal scale,③article type is review or abstract. Results A total of 14 articles are included in our review.Quality of life was measured using scale tools in all included studies, of which two scales were used in all included articles.The two scales used can reflect the real life quality of the subjects, of which FACT-G is a mass life quality scale and FACT-B is a life quality scale designed specifically for breast cancer patients. Both scales are globally recognized by the public.In our review, we found that exercise significantly improved the quality of life of breast cancer survivors, particularly aerobic exercise.In the studies included in our study, except Nanette et al. used aerobic exercise combined with resistance strength training as the intervention method in their study, all the other studies used aerobic exercise as the intervention method for the subjects.Among the 14 included studies, 10 indicated that physical exercise significantly increased the quality of life of breast cancer survivors, and 4 found that compared with the control group, the quality of life of breast cancer survivors did not have significant changes, but there was a trend of improving the quality of life.At the same time, our review found that monitoring breast cancer survivors improved quality of life.In two of the studies we included, subjects were divided into individual exercise groups and supervised exercise groups.In their study, Anne et al. divided the recruited research samples into the supervision intervention group and the routine control group. Among them, the supervision intervention group received physical exercise 5 times a week for 12 weeks, and the quality of life of breast cancer survivors was significantly improved.In the study of Cadmus et al., the subjects recruited were divided into individual exercise group, supervised exercise group and routine control group, and the exercise group performed physical exercise with the same load and frequency. The result was that there was no physical activity in the home individual exercise group or the routine control group that improved the quality of life for breast cancer survivors.However, in the supervised exercise group, breast cancer survivors' scores for FACT-B and SF-36 (a measure reflecting quality of life) were significantly improved. Conclusions Exercise can improve the quality of life for breast cancer survivors, especially aerobic exercise. Supervised exercise intervention for breast cancer survivors can better improve their quality of life and alleviate social and psychological problems than individual exercise.The supervised aerobic exercise can be integrated into the life of breast cancer survivors so as to better promote the recovery of breast cancer survivors.

The incidence of hypertension in Southeast Sulawesi tends to increase each year. Many people with hypertension are tired of taking blood pressure-lowering drugs because they are addictive and have side effects. The objective of the study was to understand the effect of watermelon juice supplementation to decrease blood pressure on early adult hypertension sufferers in the working area of the Public Health Center of Poasia Kendari city. This study was a true experiment through pretest-posttest with a control group design. The sample size was 30 people who were determined by purposive sampling technique and was allocated by matching within 15 people for both treatment and control groups. The statistical test result showed that there were different blood pressure both systolic and diastolic blood pressures before and after receiving watermelon juice supplementation for 7 days with the dose was twice 350/gr/glass/day on treatment group with significance value ρ = 0,000 (α = 0,05). Meanwhile, for the control group, there was no different blood pressure before and after receiving supplementation with significance value ρ = 1,000 (α = 0,05) for systolic pressure and ρ = 0,499 for diastolic one. There was different blood pressure after receiving watermelon juice supplementation between treatment and control groups with significance value ρ =0,031 (α = 0,05) for systolic pressure and p = 0,012 for diastolic one. Hence, it’s concluded that there was a significant effect of watermelon juice supplementation to decrease the blood pressure on early adult hypertension sufferers.

The brachial and digital blood pressures were estimated by auscultatory techniques in 10 patients with essential hypertension and in a group of 6 subjects with normal blood pressure who were in a state of regulated peripheral vasoconstriction and again when they were in a state of regulated vasodilatation. The brachial to digital systolic and diastolic pressure gradients in both control subjects and hypertensive patients were greater when the individuals were heated than when they were cooled. The brachial to digital diastolic pressure gradient in the hypertensive patients was not significantly different from that in the subjects with normal blood pressure. However, the systolic pressure gradient was greater in the hypertensive patients than in the control group both when the individuals were heated and when they were cooled.

The aim of this study was to evaluate concurrent risk factors for high blood pressure in adolescents. This is a prospective cohort study including 4,452 adolescents born in Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil, in 1993. Blood pressure was measured before and after the interview, and the mean value was used in the analyses. Mean systolic blood pressure was 101.9mmHg (SD = 12.3) and mean diastolic pressure was 63.4mmHg (SD = 9.9). Adolescents with black skin had higher blood pressure than those with white skin. Mean systolic pressure among subjects in the top quartile of body mass index (BMI) was 11.6mmHg higher than among those in the lowest quartile. Mean systolic pressure among postmenarcheal girls was 5.4mmHg higher than among premenarcheal girls. Similar trends were found for diastolic arterial pressure. Our findings suggest that blood pressure control must begin already in childhood and adolescence.

Introduction Music has been proposed as a safe, inexpensive, nonpharmacological antistress intervention. The purpose of this study was to determine whether patients undergoing cataract surgery while listening to meditation music experience lower levels of blood pressure and heart rate. Methods Two hundred individuals undergoing cataract surgery participated in the study. Hundred individuals listened to meditation music, through headphones, before and during the operation (intervention group) and 100 individuals received standard care (control group). Patients stress coping skills were measured by the Sense of Coherence Scale (SOC Scale). Systolic and diastolic blood pressure and heart rate were defined as outcome measures. Results According to the SOC Scale, both groups had similar stress coping skills (mean score: 127.6 for the intervention group and 127.3 for the control group). Before entering the operating room (OR) as well as during surgery the rise in systolic and diastolic pressures was significantly lower in the intervention group ( P < 0.001). Among patients receiving antihypertensive therapy, those in the intervention group presented a lower increase only in systolic pressure ( P < 0.001) at both time recordings. For those patients in the intervention group who did not receive antihypertensive treatment, lower systolic blood pressure at both time recordings was recorded ( P < 0.001) while lower diastolic pressure was observed only during entry to the OR ( P = 0.021). Heart rate was not altered between the two groups in any of the recordings. Conclusions Meditation music influenced patients' preoperative stress with regard to systolic blood pressure. This kind of music can be used as an alternative or complementary method for blood pressure stabilizing in patients undergoing cataract surgery.

Hypertension in preeclampsia is found in pregnant women with gestational age> 20 weeks. Hypertension is defined where systolic pressure above 140 mmHg and diastolic pressure above 90 mmHg. Handling hypertension in pregnant women up to now is still using pharmacological therapy or drugs by 100%. One nonpharmacological therapy that can lower blood pressure is aromatherapy lavender massage therapy. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of lavender aromatherapy massage on blood pressure reduction in pregnant women with preeclampsia.The design of this study used the Quasy Experiment Design with the Control Time Series Design research design, where the study used two groups divided into experimental groups and control groups. In this study both groups were pre-tested and after being given treatment in the experimental group a post-test was carried out in both groups. The research sample amounted to 50 respondents, of which 25 respondents became the experimental group and 25 became the control group. This research took place at PBM. Lilis Suryawati, Sambong village, Dukuh, Jombang District, Jombang Regency. This research was conducted from February to April 201.                    The results showed a significant difference between the blood pressure of the experimental group who were treated and the control group that was not treated. The systolic blood pressure of both groups p-value 0.003 and the value of Z -4.007. While diastolic blood pressure in both groups p-value 0,000 and Z value -5,559.                    It is expected that the midwifery profession can provide information about the importance of aromatherapy lavender massage to reduce blood pressure in pregnant women with preeclampsia, so that it can minimize the occurrence of complications in pregnant women with preeclampsia.
