Schools are institutions where human relations are intensive due to the existence of different individuals and groups. Therefore, as in every organization, it is natural to have conflicts in schools due to different human profiles and changing views. While it is a natural situation to have conflicts, the main thing to focus on is how to manage the conflict rather than the existence of the conflict. At this point, administrators, who are leaders in schools, have big duties. The response and conflict management strategies that managers will give to the conflict are directly related to the leadership styles of the preventators. In this study, it was aimed to determine the strategies used by school administrators with paternalist leadership style, which is one of the leadership styles sought in contemporary education approach, during conflict resolution or management. In the research prepared using the qualitative method. The sample of the research consisted of 5 teachers (25 teachers) each who worked in the schools of 5 administrators working in private and public primary schools affiliated to the TRNC Ministry of Education in the academic year 2019-2020. The sample of the research is in accordance with the “purposeful sampling” approach. During the analysis of the data, “content analysis” method was used. According to the results of the research, according to the opinions of the teachers, it was understood that the most common method of conflict resolution, which the paternalist leaders pursue in the conflicts in the school environment, was “uniting those in common view”. In addition, there have been conclusions that the managers tried to find a solution to the conflict by making one-to-one interviews with the people who caused the conflict after the conflict, and that this was effective in preventing the conflict from recurring.

This research study starts with the hypothesis that the personality traits of managers influence their leadership styles. Personality traits are taken from the model Big Five (McCrae and Costa) since it is one of the most dominant models of personality in modern psychology. Management styles (leadership) were investigated within the theories of transformational and transactional leadership, including laissez-faire style (Bruce Avolio - Bernard Bass). The research was conducted with 160 lower-level, middle-level and high-level managers in Serbia, employed in private and public sectors. From the questionnaire the NEO Personality Inventory (Serbian version, Kostić, P. 2002), and with the analysis of the main components, five dimensions of personality have been extracted: extraversion, neuroticism, conscientiousness, agreeableness and openness to experience. From the shorter version of Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire, three factors of leadership have been extracted: transformational, transactional and laissez-faire. The relationship between the received factors was checked by Pearson`s correlation coefficient and by multiple regression analysis. The received information showed that there is a statistically significant relationship between personality traits and leadership styles, and the most dominant relationship is between the transformational leadership style and extraversion (in a positive sense) and neuroticism (in a negative sense).

Summary: The concept of “sense of coherence” (SOC) has been widely recognized since it was first introduced by Antonovsky. The originality and usefulness of the SOC scale and its relation to other psychosocial measures has been the subject of lively debate. The aim of this paper was to test for associations between SOC and work-related psychosocial factors (mainly the Job Demand-Control model), general living conditions, education, and social network factors. Cross-sectional data from a population-based sample of 1782 rural males from nine counties in Sweden were analyzed with a multiple regression technique. The subjects were occupationally active at inclusion and the mean age was 50 years (range 40-60). SOC was assessed with the original 29-item questionnaire. Psychosocial variables and lifestyle factors were assessed using questionnaires and structured interviews. The mean SOC among the subjects was 152.3 (standard deviation, 19.4). A strong negative correlation was found between SOC and job demand, whereas a positive correlation with job control was demonstrated. A positive correlation with general living conditions and with social support was also found. However, there was no correlation to education and occupation. Thus, SOC was shown to be strongly correlated to work-related psychosocial factors and social support, but independent of sociodemographic factors.
