On the Safety of Agricultural Disc Mowers

Abstract A thrown object test protocol was developed and performed based on agricultural rotary mower safety standards to analyze the safety of an agricultural disc mower. Test results reveal a relationship between the guard to ground clearance and the quantity of thrown objects striking the operator zone target. Application of the Safety Hierarchy systematically explores safety strategies for mitigating the thrown object danger.

Railways are a mass transportation system with high safety and punctuality. These strengths have been well proved by tests and evaluations. Railways are an integrated system with cars, power, signal, communication, line structures and operation. Among many safety standards of these systems, contact force between wheels and lines can be chosen since a derailment coefficient evaluated by contract force is the most important fact that decides the safety of railways. Especially regarding express trains, since they run twice faster than conventional ones, the evaluation of a derailment coefficient is more important than any other criteria. Currently, Korean express trains between Seoul and Pusan use the same stations as conventional trains in Daejeon and Dong-Daegu; therefore, express trains run on conventional lines from express lines. This paper describes test results acquired by increasing the train speed where express lines and conventional lines are connected. Test results tell that it is safe with under 0.8 derailment coefficient and running time is reduced by 10~30 seconds in each section.

The purpose of the study is to determine the best composition variation of the fifth variation of the composition of the composite material against the wear test, hardness test, tensile test comparing values ​​ with the safety standards of the brake lining composite SAEJ 661. Making the specimens was performed by mixing the ingredients with a mixer for 15 minutes and then do the process of compaction, with a load of 4 tons and detained achieve holding time is desired, then dies (mould) are placed in the oven and do the sintering process at a temperature of 1500 C for 180 minutes and specimens removed from the mould, the process of finishing and testing. These test results show that the composition of the material that is on variation V best price obtained 96.575 HBN hardness, wear rates of 1,29x10-6 gr / (mm2.detik), and a tensile strength of 0.842 MPa, but the brake friction material not meet safety standards SAEJ brake 661.

An infant asphyxiated when a machine screw detached from a crib, the headboard separated from the crib rod, and the infant’s head stuck in the opening. The evaluation of infant cribs by inanimate standard test protocols is enhanced by live child crib shake testing. This live testing provides data for quantifying the horizontal push and pull forces that children actually apply to the sides of a crib. Comparisons are made between the live child shake test results and the inanimate test requirements contained in crib safety standards. Although the inanimate standard test protocols are inconsistent, the machine screw did not fail from normal use because the inanimate test requirements far exceed the maximum live results.

Southwest Research Institute conducted a test program on the 26-inch diameter hatch seal o-ring for a manned submersible vehicle. The tests measured o-ring extrusion at pressure differentials across the seal of up to 1560 psig and gaps between the sealing surfaces of up to 0.110 inches. This paper presents a test protocol for determining the maximum gap that a given size o-ring can seal at a given pressure. This paper also presents charts of extrusion vs. seal gap and addresses the potential for o-ring damage when the sealed joint is depressurized. The test results were used in the design of the hatch seal for the U.S. Navy Pressurized Rescue Module and represent the first industry-wide o-ring design data for face seals in large diameter mechanical joints that do not close with pressure.

Meatballs are one of the foods that undergo processing and meatballs are very popular with people of various backgrounds and ages, where the meatballs assessed consumer acceptance of the characteristics that suit the tastes of consumers without regard to nutrition and food safety standards. This research aims to detect any contamination of borax and formaldehyde in meatballs circulating in the town of Lhokseumawe, analyze the levels proximate to the meatballs circulating in the town of Lhokseumawe, and to determine the level of consumer knowledge meatballs to formaldehyde and borax as harmful preservatives. The samples are meatball sauce and meatball skewers taken from meatballs traders in the city of Lhokseumawe. Results of research on the meatball sauce sold in the shop found a 12.5% positive samples containing borax, while samples meatball skewers sold in schools is not found contamination borax, formalin as well as in the examination did not reveal any contamination of formaldehyde in the meatball sauce and skewers. The test results of proximate levels meatball soup obtained average values and standard deviations where the protein content of 9.43 ± 1.00, 10.53 ± 4.08 fat content, water content of 65.88 ± 3.51, ash content 2 , 76 ± 0.65 and 11.40 ± carbohydrate content of 3.33 and between levels of education and knowledge of the relationship between education and knowledge meatballs consumers to the dangers of borax and formaldehyde when used in food products (P <0.05). Conclusions 12.5% found gravy meatball stall containing borax, and not found any contamination of formaldehyde in the sauce and meatballs skewers and education levels affect the buyer meatballs knowledge about the dangers of formaldehyde and borax, proximate levels meatballs sold in some gravy meatball stall in the town of Lhokseumawe meet the standard values proximate levels meatballs issued by SNI.

Nowadays, vehicles are the main requirement for carrying out activities of daily life. One of the most widely used by Indonesians is motorbikes. The motorcycle safety system provided by motorcycle manufacturers has not been effective and still has many shortcomings. Besides, the rampant motorcycle thief and robbery cases have made vehicle owners have to pay attention to their motorbikes' safety. An integrated motorcycle safety system is much needed. The design of a motorcycle vehicle system that is integrated with the Arduino via Bluetooth media provides quite maximum test results. Based on the results of testing, the accuracy of the tool gives 99% results. This safety system can turn off and turn on the motorcycle stock contact automatically. When the motorbike is on, Bluetooth on the motorbike and Bluetooth on the helmet are separated beyond a distance of 10 meters, the stock contact on the motorcycle vehicle will turn off so that the motorbike cannot be turned on at the same time the alarm will flash. The motor can be turned on after Bluetooth on the helmet, and the motorbike is connected or reconnected. With this, the safety standards on motorbikes are getting better. Motorcycle users will feel safe after leaving their vehicle.

Assessment of Air Way Resistance Indexes and Exercise-Induced Asthma after a Single Session of Submaximal Incremental Aerobic ExerciseThe present study aimed at assessing air way resistance indexes that include FEV1 (Force expiration Volume in one second), FVC (Forced vital capacity) and FEV1/FVC and exercise-induced asthma (EIA) after one session of sub maximal incremental aerobic exercise. Fifty healthy male subjects (age 19-26) from the faculty of Physical Education, University of Shahid Chamran served as the participants of the study. They were randomly assigned to either exercise or control groups. Body height, body mass and pulmonary factors were measured in the pre-test conditions. The study protocol included a sub maximal incremental Astrand - Rhyming test on an ergocycle. After performing this test by the exercise group, FEV1, FVC and FEV1/FVC, were measured again for both groups and compared with pre test evaluations. The data were analyzed through descriptive and inferential statistics (dependent and independent t test). Results showed that there was a significant difference in FEV1 between the two groups after the exercise protocol (p ≤ 0.05). There was no significant difference in FVC between the two groups after exercise, and a significant difference was registered in FEV1 and FEV1/FVC between pre-test and post-test results in the group that performed the aerobic test protocol (p ≤ 0.05). Our results indicate that one sub maximal incremental aerobic exercise session causes a significant change in FEV1 and FEV1/FVC, and causes exercise-induced asthma.

Cooperative UAV systems can have great advantages over isolated UAV systems, regarding application, safety, efficiency and many other perspectives. Motivated by challenges from practical multiple UAV formation flight, this paper presents our approaches towards cognitive formation flight. It introduces the principle ofmulti-UAV cognitive formation flight and the control structure utilized in our development, describes a low-cost UAV testbed developed by ourselves, and details the tuning procedures of the implemented multi-agent flight controller for stable and consistent formation flights. Different formation flight scenarios are also discussed and the experimental setup is presented including real-time issues and the formation flight test protocol. Routinized comprehensive flight test results are also shown at the end.

This paper presents the performance analysis of a latest-generation hybrid vehicle (Toyota Yaris 2020) with a testing campaign in real road conditions and a comparison with the previous model (Toyota Yaris 2017). The study was conducted by applying the Real Drive Truth Test protocol, developed by the research group, validated and spread to other full hybrid vehicles: Toyota Prius IV (2016) and Toyota Yaris 2017 (2017). In the case of the 2020 tests, the co-presence on board—deemed unsafe in the usual ways given the ongoing pandemic—was achieved through precise and sophisticated remote control. An on-board diagnostic computer, video transmission and recording equipment guarantee the virtual co-presence of a technical control room and a driver. Thus, several engineers can follow and monitor each vehicle via a 4G modem (installed in each vehicle), analysing data, route and driver behaviour in real-time, and therefore even in the presence of a single occupant in the car under test. The utmost attention has also been paid to adopting anti-COVID behaviours and safety standards: limited personal interactions, reduced co-presence in shared rooms (especially in the control room), vehicle sanitising between different drivers, computers and technicians and video technicians working once at a time. The comparison between the two subsequent vehicle models shows a significant improvement in the performance of the new generation Yaris, both in terms of operation in ZEV (zero-emission vehicle) mode (+15.3%) and in terms of consumption (−35.1%) and overall efficiency of the hybrid powertrain (+8.2%).

Cool roofs use reflective materials or coatings to reflect a portion of the incident solar radiation. This results in a lowering the surface temperature of the cool roof compared to black roofs, and thus helps reduce the cooling energy loads during the summer season. The research reported in this paper was conducted to assess experimentally and numerically the performance of cool and black roofs that were subjected to the hot, humid and dusty climate of Jubail Industrial City (JIC). This paper focused on characterizing one of the important properties of reflective coating material (RCM), which is its solar reflectivity. In this study, the effect of dust/dirt accumulation on the solar reflectivity of the RCM was investigated at different exposure times to the natural weathering conditions of JIC. The test results showed that dust and dirt can significantly contribute in reducing the solar reflectivity of the RCM. As such, a number of cleaning processes were conducted on the surface of the RCM so as to increase its solar reflectivity. The effect of each cleaning process on the solar reflectivity of the RCM was investigated. Finally, this paper provides a test protocol and procedure for characterizing the dust concentration/intensity on the surfaces of the RCM and cleaning this material after different exposure times to a natural and polluted climate.
