Leishmaniasis is a protozoal vector-borne disease that affects both humans and animals. In the Mediterranean Basin, the primary reservoir hosts of Leishmania spp. are mainly rodents and canids. Lipidomic approaches have allowed scientists to establish Leishmania spp. lipid profiles for the identification of cell stage specific biomarkers, drug mechanisms of action, and host immune response. Using an in silico approach of global network interaction between genes involved in fatty acid (FA) synthesis followed by the GC-MS approach, we were able to characterize the fatty acid profiles of L. major derived from human and rodent hosts. Our results revealed that the lipid profile of L. major showed similarities and differences with those already reported for other Leishmania species. Phospholipids are the predominant lipid class. FA composition of rodent parasites was characterized by a lower abundance of the precursor C18:2(n-6). One of the rodent clones, which also expressed the lowest lipid abundance in PL and TAG, was the least sensitive clone to the miltefosine drug and has the lowest infection efficiency. Our findings suggest that the lipid composition variation may explain the response of the parasite toward treatment and their ability to infect their host.

Abstract A composite electrode composed of electrodeposited, nickel-iron nanostructured clusters onto a glassy carbon (GC) disk electrode was used as a working electrode to detect methylene blue at concentrations below 10 μM. The Ni-Fe clusters were prepared by pulse electrodeposition and a lateral composition variation was observed reflective of a local pH change across the Ni-Fe feature. The applied potential for the detection of MB at a pH of 4 was determined through voltammetry and demonstrated using chronoamperometry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) where the adsorption of MB influenced both the capacitance, C, and ohmic resistance, Rs. A peak present in it1/2 vs t chronoamperometry plots decreased with lower MB bulk concentration, while in contrast, the RsC parameters determined from equivalent circuit models of EIS had the opposite behavior having a larger signal with lower MB concentration, and hence providing a way to increase the detection signal at lower MB concentration.

The purpose of the study is to determine the best composition variation of the fifth variation of the composition of the composite material against the wear test, hardness test, tensile test comparing values with the safety standards of the brake lining composite SAEJ 661. Making the specimens was performed by mixing the ingredients with a mixer for 15 minutes and then do the process of compaction, with a load of 4 tons and detained achieve holding time is desired, then dies (mould) are placed in the oven and do the sintering process at a temperature of 1500 C for 180 minutes and specimens removed from the mould, the process of finishing and testing. These test results show that the composition of the material that is on variation V best price obtained 96.575 HBN hardness, wear rates of 1,29x10-6 gr / (mm2.detik), and a tensile strength of 0.842 MPa, but the brake friction material not meet safety standards SAEJ brake 661.

The effect of the sample composition, variation of the temperature field and the feed material non-homogeneity on uniformity of the growing crystal is considered. It is shown that optimization of the solvent composition makes it possible to minimize the jump of the ZnTe concentration at the seed/crystal boundary. The composition fluctuations at variation of the thermal field during crystal growth are smooth enough and relatively non-significant. The feed composition distribution has, as a rule, a random character. Different harmonics of composition distribution non-uniformity in the feed material differently affect the homogeneity of the growing crystal. Longwave non-uniformities in the feed transform into the growing crystal almost completely. At the wavelength equals to a half of the solvent length or shorter, the perturbations of the growing crystal composition are relatively small. Evidently, the cause of the local composition variations, found in real crystals, is, basically, the feed composition non-uniformities

Composite thin films arouse great interests owing to the multifunctionalities and heterointerface induced physical property tailoring. The exchange bias effect aroused from the ferromagnetic (FM)–antiferromagnetic (AFM) heterointerface is applicable in various applications such as magnetic storage. In this work, (LaFeO3)x:(La0.7Ca0.3MnO3)1−x composite thin films have been deposited via pulsed laser deposition (PLD) and the exchange bias effect was investigated. In such system, LaFeO3 (LFO) is an antiferromagnet while La0.7Ca0.3MnO3 (LCMO) is a ferromagnet, which results in the exchange bias interfacial coupling at the FM/AFM interface. The composition variation of the two phases could lead to the exchange bias field (HEB) tuning in the composite system. This work demonstrates a new composite thin film system with FM-AFM interfacial exchange coupling, which could be applied in various spintronic applications.

Bioplactic from banana corm and glycerol has been studied in this research. In addition, the physical chemical properties of it has been improved by adding chitosan, clay and CMC as filler and glycerol as plasticizer. Plastic that produced form organic material such as starch usually has poor properties in physical and mechanical. Composition variation of chitosan, clay and CMC as filler then combined by variation of glycerol as plasticizer have produced significant improve of the bioplastic physical properties. Properties of the bioplastic that studied in this research was focused to biodegradation, elongation, and tensile strength. The addition of fillers and plasticizers is carried out to produce a better bioplastics. This study used 3 variations of the filler composition : 4, 5, and 6 grams and 2 variations of the plasticizer composition: 1 ml and 2 ml. The bioplastics that produced were tested for tensile strength, elongation, and biodegradation of the soil for 7 days. The best tensile strength results is 8.43 MPa for bioplastic that using CMC fillers. On the other side, the best elongation percentage is 9.87% for bioplastic which using CMC fillers. The bioplastic that added Clay as filler can be degraded up to 100% in 7 days.

The textural properties of butter are influenced by its fat content and implicitly by the fatty acids composition. The impact of butter’s chemical composition variation was studied in accordance with texture and color properties. From 37 fatty acids examined, only 18 were quantified in the analyzed butter fat samples, and approximately 69.120% were saturated, 25.482% were monounsaturated, and 5.301% were polyunsaturated. The butter samples’ viscosity ranged between 0.24 and 2.12 N, while the adhesiveness ranged between 0.286 to 18.19 N·mm. The principal component analysis (PCA) separated the butter samples based on texture parameters, fatty acids concentration, and fat content, which were in contrast with water content. Of the measured color parameters, the yellowness b* color parameter is a relevant indicator that differentiated the analyzed sample into seven statistical groups; the ANOVA statistics highlighted this difference at a level of p < 0.001.

Compositions of [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] were mixed and sintered at 1250[Formula: see text]C to fabricate [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] targets, and RF sputtering method was used to deposit [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] films by introducing pure Argon during the deposition process. After [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] films were deposited, we used the X-ray diffraction pattern to analyze their crystalline properties, the ultraviolet–visible-infrared spectrophotometry to measure their transmittance spectra in the wavelength range of 200–800 nm, an X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy to find their composition variation, and a Hall equipment to measure their electrical properties, including the carrier concentration, the mobility, and the resistivity. We found that the absorption edges of [Formula: see text] films were shifted to higher wavelength as [Formula: see text] value increased from 0.2 to 0.4. We also found that the Hall parameters of [Formula: see text] film could not be measured because of its high resistivity. Therefore, [Formula: see text] film was used to fabricate thin-film transistor (TFT), and the electrical properties of the fabricated TFT were also well investigated.
