The article represents the proprietary methodology of audit service of museums. Urgency of the methodology relates to integration processes, which connect cultural institutions and the tourism industry. Obviously, the travel service becomes the essential component of the activities of cultural objects. This means not only an increase the number of museum visitors, but also the changing approaches to service, the use of new technical means and technologies of display. Thus, the determination the quality level of tourism services in the museum at the moment and on this basis substantiation of decision on the improvement and development in operational and strategic perspective become the important issues. The objectivity of the received information is the key issue. Therefore, the audit service, as any other, is offered to carry out by independent experts with the active use of the known method of «secret shopper». Blockchain technology is considered one of the most revolutionary innovations that has much to offer the tourism industry, having a positive impact among consumers with the help of interactive applications but also easy to use. Tourist services must constantly evolve in a society where the consumer has everything a click away and his requirements are demanding when it comes to quality leisure. Blockchain technology has the power to change the course of the travel experience, offering the customer more autonomy, but the applications developed by the providers can offer transparency and trust to the customers from the moment T0, when the desire to go on a trip is born, until the end at which it should provide feedback. So far, digital and tourism specialists have not agreed on the development of blockchain-based applications, although the benefits are great for both consumers and tourism service providers, as in this publication we can see a series of advantages that blockchain technology can offer the tourism field. This paper also investigates the satisfaction that the Romanian consumer has after purchasing tourist services through e-commerce applications, a satisfaction that can be an additional motivation for specialists to implement blockchain technology. Following the research in this paper, it can be seen how important it is to develop a series of easy-to-use applications, because if the consumer does not manage to use the applications, this affects the degree of satisfaction and the intention to continue using the online applications for the purchase of tourism services.

The tourism industry has grown rapidly in recent years, and IT technology is also having a big impact on tourists. Tourism services, information generated by tourists and other sources can be used to build models of tourist behavior. These models can improve the travel experience in various ways. The author presents the system for analyzing tourist behavior based on the concept of a digital pattern of life. The system determines the tourist, possible data sources, ways of storing and presenting data, as well as tools for analyzing behavior. The author used artifi cial neural networks to analyze behavior from a dataset of tourist travels made with cars. One scenario of tourist behavior using artifi cial neural networks is presented. The collected results will be used for improving tourist services.

The aim of this paper is to examine potentials and obstacles for the development of rural tourism in the Republic of Srpska. The analysis of both the potential and the integration of the entities crucial for the development of rural tourism, as well as the limiting factors that lead to stagnation in the development of rural tourism, is covered. Also, the goal is to explore the views of users and providers of rural tourism services and institutions dealing with the tourism industry on the state of the tourist offer and the limiting factors of its development. Rural destinations are becoming more attractive and more visited by tourists due to the natural environment, clean air, manifestations, possibilities of consuming traditional food and beverages, sports and various other activities. However, the ruin of rural tourism is reflected in the fact that it can violate the original form of rural space through various forms of environmental pollution of space, water and air. Preservation of existing resources is a necessity because the preserved environment is a prerequisite for the development of rural tourism. Republic of Srpska has seen a steady growth in the tourist visit in recent years, but there are still limiting factors for the development of rural tourism, which are most often seen in the poorly developed infrastructure of certain rural destinations, lack of accommodation capacities and the lack of qualified labor force, cooperation of several actors. It cannot be developed without the cooperation of regional and local authorities, non-governmental organizations, tourist organizations and businesses with local people. These actors should help the development of rural tourism through various subsidies, incentives, infrastructure construction and marketing.Republika Srpska faces the problem of insufficient promotion of tourism products, which reflects on the bad image of the entire tourism. The strong competition from the countries of the region, primarily Croatia and Montenegro, draws a large number of tourists, which points to the fact that the consumers of tourism services of the Republic of Srpska are in the highest estimate domestic guests of a poor standard of living. The development of rural tourism should be based on an integrated approach to development and care for resources. Only preserved resources can be a condition for the development of rural tourism now and in the future.

This study investigates the impact of the international openness in tourism services trade on wage inequality between highly skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled workers in the tourism industry. The sample covers 10 developed countries and expands over 15 years. A cointegrated panel data model and an error correction model were used to distinguish between the short- and long-run effects. The results are compared to those of openness of business services and manufactured goods. The findings point out that tourism increases wage inequality at the expense of the least skilled workers in the long run and the short run.

The paper covers relevant issues, such as the current state of the tourism services sector in China, Japan, and South Korea. The significance is confirmed by the growing role of the North-East Asian countries in the world trade in services and the growing contribution of tourism to the global gross domestic product. The purpose of this study is to identify the features, problems, and prospects for the development of the tourism services sector in China, Japan, and South Korea. The paper uses methods of systematisation and typification, which made it possible to determine the specifics of the development of cultural tourism in the Far Eastern region among the current range of opinions and areas of cultural tourism research. The study uses the principles of historicism and objectivity, which allowed analysing the development and current state of tourist exchange. A cultural approach was also used to reconstruct the cultural and humanitarian population of North-East Asia through the mutual enrichment of nations and people. The systematic approach made it possible to understand the importance of humanitarian exchange between people and identified the universality of tourism.

The article deals with internal and external factors affecting the tourism industry in Russia as well as the ways of its promotion and development. The authors analyze decrease in sales in the tourism industry at the present period; the situation with provision of tourism services during the pandemic is identified and justified; the negative effects of the crisis are revealed. The authors also point out and present positive factors, which stimulate travel and tourism, including hotel business, catering, as well as resort business; the possibility of finding new ways to promote tourism industry is justified. The authors also analyze the main measures of tourism industry’s state support. The article considers dominant areas affecting the development of domestic tourism. The authors assess main aspects contributing to the development of event tourism. Conditions for the development of sports and event tourism are investigated and discussed; special features of tourism industry stimulation during the pandemic are presented. The authors consider and justify the possibility of restoring the tourist market.

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to measure tourists' satisfaction with quality of life issues at an arts festival - the Aardklop National Arts Festival in Potchefstroom. Problem investigated: Understanding satisfaction with quality of life issues could assist Festival organizers and other businesses to improve services for tourists by tailoring these to meet their needs. Satisfied tourists spread positive word-of-mouth communication and are more likely to return in the future. Methodology: A self-administered survey developed and validated by Neal, Sirgy and Uysal (1999:156 & 2004:245) was fielded at the 2007 Aardklop National Arts Festival in Potchefstroom. The target population included all visitors to the Festival who were staying for two or more days, and who had travelled to Potchefstroom from elsewhere. Findings and implications: Respondents were satisfied with travel / tourism services and experiences at the Festival, and with their leisure time and life in general. However, certain things at the Festival led to lowered levels of satisfaction. Demographically, respondents did not differ significantly in their levels of satisfaction with travel / tourism services, travel / tourism experiences, leisure life, and life in general at the Festival except in terms of population group and region from which they came. Organizers of the Festival and other businesses should take cognizance of the fact that all parties involved in providing services to tourists attending an arts festival impact on their satisfaction levels with travel / tourism services and experiences - and ultimately also on their quality of life. Tourists attending the arts festival are not homogenous and differ substantially in terms of their demographic profile. Tourist service providers should tailor their offerings in order to satisfy the varied needs of the different types of tourist attending the Festival. Originality and value of the research: This research focused on measuring tourists' satisfaction with quality of life issues at an arts festival. Such research has never before been conducted in South Africa; the results contribute to the deeper insight of interested parties (such as the tourism industry and arts festival managers) into what they need to offer at such events.

In recent decades, tourism has shown itself as a key component of a modern economy and a sustainable source of innovative industries that ensure balanced development, especially in developing countries, most of which have the most popular resources for the tourism industry. The main goal of the work is presented in the idea of how to conserve natural reserves and use them rationally in the present and in the future, developing detailed plans and striving to increase the level of efficiency. The result of such work will lead to increased profits with the simultaneous organization of all types of activities related to tourism. Improving the effectiveness of strategies aimed at solving problems regarding sustainable development and changing patterns of production and consumption of tourism services requires a deep analysis of all aspects of the area under consideration, including the study of the effects of elements of the external environment under conditions of stability / instability. In other words, conducting a closer study of the planning functions in the systemic management processes of the tourism industry is quite relevant. The significance of this study lies in the fact that planning for sustainable development of the tourism sector is considered as an integral part of the overall plan for economic and social development, which requires the obligatory participation of all public and private stakeholders in the actual implementation of policies and strategies in this direction, since not only income, but and the responsibility for the development of this sector of the economy is shared between government and business. Accordingly, the author proposes to develop a methodology for indicative planning to achieve longterm improvement of tourism services in developing countries, including identifying aspects of modern problems faced by most economies in crisis and instability.

Abstract The aim of this paper is to present the process of appropriation of public space by the tourism industry in island states with the example of the temple of Borobudur, addressing the question of the changing trends of the temple’s basic functions, from sacred to tourist functions, and the effects of the presented changes on the traditional users of the temple. The Borobudur temple complex has been (symbolically and practically) transferred from the hands of Buddhists into the hands of tourists. The Javanese cultural heritage has been commoditized in a systematic way and lacks religious functions. This is one example of how tourism increasingly appropriates spaces and redefines the meaning of cultural objects. Structural inhibitions to the Borobudur temple being used for traditional religious purposes can be considered an example of tourist neo-colonialism (both from the perspective of postcolonial theory and in light of previous research on the subject).
