The purpose of the actual research is to determine the factors which create organizational distrust in regular high school managers. Semi-structured interview method, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the present study. Managers of 3 regular high schools which are located in the city center of Kırıkkale were interviewed. The factors which create organizational distrust in regular high school managers were grouped under 4 categories after the content analysis. These categories are as follows: Employees' behaviors which cause distrust in managers, legislation and practices of the Ministry of National Education, characteristics and features of the school and other managers' behaviors which cause distrust in high school managers. High school managers stated that the abuse of the right to receive health certificate which is provided by the law No. 657, political and other kinds of pressures that employees put on the managers, low amount of subsidies sent to regular high schools, populist explanations of the Ministry for the public, not being authorized (for managers) to choose assistant managers, the legislation which does not give authorization to local governors and the impact of politicians on school managers created a distrust in them. This research revealed that the factors which cause distrust in high school managers resulted mostly from the structure of public institutions and cultural structure.

Management upon value is to consolidate occupations around common values so that managers are aware of the individual values of the occupations and act effectively and efficiently in the direction of their organization. It is envisaged that the managers will create a system of common values, without emphasizing individual values, to develop the motivation and skills of the organizational workshops. The purpose of this research is to determine the opinions of the principals working in public elementary, secondary and high school levels affiliated to Denizli province Merkezefendi and Pamukkale districts about the topic management by values. In this qualitative research in the case study, a structured interview technique was used and the questions developed by the researchers were asked to the school principals. The working group consists of 10 school principals working in the public primary, secondary and high school levels affiliated to the Denizli Provincial Directorate and Pamukkale District National Education Directorates. In the analysis of the data, descriptive and content analysis techniques were used together. The data transferred to the article were edited, the themes were created from the encoded data, and the findings were defined and interpreted. The school principals interviewed indicated that it would be an effective way to act jointly by providing consensus on the way in which the management style can be built with values and this management style; employees will be able to help themselves to the company, to be happy at work, and to work more effectively and efficiently.

The Right to Information Act 2005 was passed by the UPA (United Progressive Alliance) Government with a sense of pride. It flaunted the Act as a milestone in India’s democratic journey. It is five years since the RTI was passed; the performance on the implementation frontis far from perfect. Consequently, the impact on the attitude, mindset and behaviour patterns of the public authorities and the people is not as it was expected to be. Most of the people are still not aware of their newly acquired power. Among those who are aware, a major chunk either does not know how to wield it or lacks the guts and gumption to invoke the RTI. A little more stimulation by the Government, NGOs and other enlightened and empowered citizens can augment the benefits of this Act manifold. RTI will help not only in mitigating corruption in public life but also in alleviating poverty- the two monstrous maladies of India.

The normative perspective of this chapter is how to guarantee respect for the fundamental values of freedom of expression and journalistic reporting on matters of public interest in cases where a (public) person claims protection of his or her right to reputation. First it explains why there is an increasing number and expanding potential of conflicts between the right to freedom of expression and media freedom (Article 10 ECHR), on the one hand, and the right of privacy and the right to protection of reputation (Article 8 ECHR), on the other. In addressing and analysing the European Court’s balancing approach in this domain, the characteristics and the impact of the seminal 2012 Grand Chamber judgment in Axel Springer AG v. Germany (no. 1) are identified and explained. On the basis of the analysis of the Court’s subsequent jurisprudence in defamation cases it evaluates whether this case law preserves the public watchdog-function of media, investigative journalism and NGOs reporting on matters of public interest, but tarnishing the reputation of public figures.

AbstrakPembelajaran berbasis proyek merupakan salah satu model pembelajaran yang direkomendasikan untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran menurut kurikulum 2013. Pelaksanaan proses pembelajaran di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) memiliki karakteristik yang berbeda dengan pelaksanaan pembelajaran di Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA). Guru SMK harus mampu mengembangkan model pembelajaran yang dapat menghasilkan aspek keterampilan kerja. Salah satu masalah paling kritis dalam proses belajar mengajar Bahasa Inggris di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan adalah keengganan dan kreativitas guru yang kurang untuk menemukan cara agar pembelajaran lebih kreatif dan menyenangkan. Untuk mengetahui sejauh mana pemahaman siswa tentang suatu materi yang telah diajarkan dalam proses belajar mengajar, guru harus memberikan tugas kepada siswa. Penugasan dapat dilakukan dengan model Pembelajaran Berbasis Proyek (PjBL). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana persepsi guru tentang pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam desain deskriptif kualitatif yang melibatkan tiga guru Bahasa Inggris SMK di Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir, Provinsi Riau sebagai responden. Penelitian ini menggunakan wawancara semi terstruktur sebagai instrumen pengumpulan data. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa guru memiliki persepsi positif terhadap pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis proyek perlu dilakukan oleh guru di kelas Bahasa Inggris sebagai salah satu model dalam proses belajar mengajar karena berfokus pada siswa.Kata Kunci: Pembelajaran Berbasis Proyek, Persepsi Guru, dan Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan. AbstractProject-based learning is one of the recommended learning models to be used in learning according to the 2013 curriculum. The implementation of the learning process in Vocational High Schools have different characteristics from the implementation of learning in Senior High Schools. Vocational high school teachers must be able to develop learning models that can produce aspects of work skills. One of the most critical problems in teaching and learning English at Vocational High School is teachers’ unwillingness and less creativity to find ways to make learning more creative and fun. To find out what extent students understand about the material that has been taught in the teaching and learning process, the teachers must give assignments to the students. The assignments can be done with the model Project-Based Learning. The aim of this study was to investigate how teachers’ perception about project-based learning. This research conducted in descriptive qualitative design which involved three vocational high school English teachers in Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province as respondents. This research used semi-structured interview as an instrument to collect the data. The result of the analysis showed that teachers have positive perception toward project-based learning. Globalization is the increasing interaction of peoples, states or countries through the growth of the global trade, international flow of capital, ideas and culture. The paper discusses how privatization of public corporations and invention of information and communication technology (ICT) lead to the retrenchment and casualization of public servant. The aim of this study is to examines the impact of globalization on the public servant in Nigeria. The methodology involves the use of secondary data, through a systematic literature review which entails the document analysis of related matters. The findings reveal that globalization infringes on the right of a public servant by making them vulnerable without job security. The paper concludes that government must stop unfair labor practice such as retrenchment and casualization of workers, and improve good working conditions to make public servant more productive.

One of the anticipation actions that can be done before the flood disaster comes is to determine the evacuation route and evacuation location or shelter for flood relief and spread to the public in order to accelerate the process of evacuation of disaster victims so as to minimize losses from the flood itself. This research was conducted by approaching Geographic Information System (SIG) The purpose of this research is (1) Knowing the flood-prone agihan in Laweyan Subdistrict based on SIG. (2) Analyze the Availability of Shelter Locations (Educational Buildings and Buildings of Worship) of flood victims in Laweyan Subdistrict. It is expected that in the research to know the potential of the best temporary evacuation shelter / protection and evacuation design so that it can be considered and help the relevant agencies, especially local BPBD in order to improve flood mitigation in Sumber Village, Banjarsari District, Surakarta City. To reduce or overcome the impact caused by flood disasters on the comfort and safety of the community in Laweyan Subdistrict, researchers need to raise the title, " Determination of Flood Victim Shelter in Lawean District of Surakarta City Based on Geographic Information System".

Permasalahan utama dalam penelitian ini adalah ketidaktepatan penjatuhan pidana oleh Hakim kepada pelaku dalam kasus pencurian dengan pemberatan pada Putusan Nomor 143/Pid.B/2015/PN.Dmk. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis faktor yang melatarbelakangi terjadinya pencurian dengan pemberatan dan pertimbangan Hakim dalam menjatuhkan pidana terhadap pelaku dalam Putusan Nomor 143/Pid.B/2015/PN.Dmk. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa faktor yang melatarbelakangi terjadinya tindak pidana pencurian dengan pemberatan dalam putusan Nomor 143/Pid.B/2015/PN.Dmk oleh AD sebagai pelaku turut serta melakukan pencurian dengan pemberatan yaitu disebabkan oleh faktor ekonomi karena ia merupakan tulang punggung keluarga dan harus memenuhi kebutuhan hidup baik untuk dirinya maupun keluarganya. Kemudian, oleh karena semua unsur dalam dakwaan primair telah terpenuhi, Hakim menjatuhkan pidana kepada pelaku dengan dakwaan kesatu yaitu pelaku melanggar Pasal 363 Ayat (1) Ke-3, Ke-4, dan Ke-5 KUHP. Hakim sudah tepat mengambil keputusan yaitu mengadili pelaku dengan tindak pidana pencurian dalam keadaan memberatkan akan tetapi hukuman yang dijatuhkan oleh Hakim sangatlah minim dan lebih rendah dari apa yang dituntut oleh Jaksa Penuntut Umum karena pelaku sebelum melakukan tindak pidana pencurian dengan pemberatan baru saja keluar dari Lembaga Pemasyarakatan (Lapas) dengan kasus Penggelapan dalam Putusan Nomor 133/Pid.B/2014/PN.Pti dan sudah pernah dihukum. Maka dari itu, hukuman yang diberikan kepada pelaku tidaklah sebanding dengan apa yang dilakukannya dan sebaiknya Hakim juga mempertimbangkan dampak dan kerugian yang ditimbulkan bagi korban akibat perbuatan pelaku.AbstractThe main problem in this research is the inaccuracy of the sentence handed down by the judge to the perpetrator of the robbery case weighing Decision Number 143/Pid.B/ 2015/PN.Dmk. This study aims to see and analyze the factors underlying the weighted actions and judges' considerations in imposing crimes against the perpetrators of Decision Number 143/Pid.B/2015/PN.Dmk. The results showed that the factors behind the occurrence of criminal acts of theft with weighting in the decision Number 143/Pid.B/2015/PN.Dmk by AD as the perpetrator participated in committing theft with weight, namely due to economic factors because he was the backbone of the family and had to meet the necessities of life both for himself and his family. Then, because all the elements in the primair indictment had been fulfilled, the Judge sentenced the perpetrator to the first charge, namely the perpetrator violating Article 363 Paragraph (1) 3rd, 4th, and 5th of the Criminal Code. The judge has made the right decision, namely trying the perpetrator with a criminal act of theft in burdensome circumstances, but the sentence handed down by the Judge is very minimal and lower than what is demanded by the Public Prosecutor because the perpetrator before committing the crime of theft with weight has just left the Penitentiary (Lapas) with embezzlement cases in Decision Number 133/Pid.B/2014/PN.Pti and have already been convicted. Therefore, the sentence given to the perpetrator is not proportional to what he has done and the judge should also consider the impact and harm caused to the victim as a result of the perpetrator's actions.

Purpose A large, predominantly undergraduate university in Tennessee partnered with a local magnet school aiming to assist high school seniors with their college-level research assignment. The partnership began as a pilot, but quickly expanded to include other high schools as a result of initial successes. This paper aims to describe the development of the partnership and its importance in fulfilling a key component of college preparedness for gifted high school students. Design/methodology/approach This paper describes how the Library partnership commenced as a service to a local high school that required its students to access college-level research materials. The paper details how both the Library and the high school recognized the impact of collaborating to expose these students to the information literacy skills needed for college readiness. Findings The paper presents the challenges encountered when attempting to provide college-level information literacy instruction to large groups of students visiting a college campus. It concludes with best practices and lessons learned, as well as plans for formal assessment and future initiatives. Originality/value The author has presented at Library Instruction West, July 2018. A review of the professional literature demonstrates that other academic libraries have partnered with local schools for a variety of library-related initiatives. Therefore, the concept of partnerships between the Library and local high schools is not unique. However, this paper aims to describe challenges encountered, best practices, lessons learned and suggestions for future directions, including formal assessment, all of which could be adapted by other academic libraries as applicable.

The study investigates types, sources of innovation, and corresponding challenges to commercialization among small and medium-sized industries (SMIs) in Tanzania. It employed a qualitative research design with semi-structured interview method. Findings indicate that incremental, product, and process are common types of innovations introduced. The major sources of innovations are employees, consumers, user-manufacturer lifestyles, consequential needs, and best practices by manufacturing firms. Also, it was revealed that SMIs do not follow all steps of the innovation commercialization process. Major challenges facing SMIs in the commercialization process include lack of commercialization knowledge; lack of development infrastructure and fast logistics; lack of strong university, industry, and public institutions linkage; and regulatory authorities' bureaucracy, among others. The study recommends that SMIs establish strong research and development units and collaborations with key stakeholders in order to improve identification and commercialization of innovations in Tanzania.
