Artificial intelligence (AI) and robotic technologies have recently been increasingly used in various areas of human activity. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to consider the medical, social and economic aspects of the use of artificial intelligence in various spheres of human activity. The reason for people turning to the above-mentioned innovations is to expand a number of human capabilities, increase labor productivity, reduce the negative impact of the human factor, etc. The social aspect of the use of robotic technologies should also not be underestimated. The economic aspects of the use of artificial intelligence and robotic technologies are the possibility of optimizing the number of labor resources, replacing a whole staff of auxiliary workers, which can significantly reduce the salary fund in general and the costs of a company using such technologies, in particular.

Using sampling survey data from 20 representative villages, this paper analyzes the status of environmental pollution in mountainous and hilly rural area of Sichuan Province in China, and makes comprehensive analysis of environmental pollution factors of the research area based on BP neural network model. The result shows that there are about 60% of the villages investigated displaying environmental pollution of varying degrees. It also indicates that environment renovation measures conducted by government and labor out-migration are conducive to environmental protection in mountainous and hilly rural area of Sichuan, while the concentration of population and development of rural enterprise have negative impact on local environment. The influence degree of each factor in descending order is labor out-migration, environment renovation measures, concentration of population, rural enterprise development.

The article discusses densification of fully urbanised territories, which causes deterioration of living conditions for tenants of neighbouring houses (third parties) due to the negative impact of construction on local environment. Specifically, detection of fundamental right violations during territorial planning is in focus, because not only third parties but also future tenants of the house being constructed suffer loss of healthy and harmonious work and recreational environment as a direct result of such violations. A classifier of fundamental right violations during territorial planning was developed for that purpose. The judicial practice was analysed; persons authorised to contest environmental violations under the Law on Administrative Proceedings (hereinafter LAP) and the scope of their authorisation were determined.

AbstractImplementation of various restrictions to eradicate viral diseases has globally affected human activity and subsequently nature. But how can the altered routines of human activity (restrictions, lockdowns) affect wildlife behaviour? This study compared the differences between human and wildlife occurrences in the study forest area with acreage of 5430.6 ha in 2018 (African swine fever outbreak, complete entrance ban), 2019 (standard pattern) and 2020 (COVID-19 restrictions) during the breeding season. The number of visitors was lower by 64% in 2018 (non-respecting of the entry ban by forest visitors) compared to standard 2019, while in 2020, the number of visitors increased to 151%. In the COVID-19 period, distinct peaks in the number of visitors were observed between 8–11 AM and 4–7 PM. The peaks of wildlife activity were recorded between 4–7 AM and 9–12 PM. Animals avoided the localities that were visited by humans during the people-influenced time (24 h after people visit), which confirmed the direct negative impact of human activities on wildlife.

With the exploitation of underground sources, nature receives a huge negative impact on the local environment introducing surface subsidence. A mining region needs to be observed in sequences before, during, and after coal extraction from the coal mine. Different measuring methods exist to monitor subsidence, and all of them apply various instrumentation. A choice of methodology depends on access to a field of observation and requested accuracy. Obviously, the most accurate results provide geometric leveling, but, many times, the terrain does not allow surveyors to walk over the dangerous outfields. Looking for the most adequate and feasible method, this research did a comparison between observation of the same points, applying statistical analysis of differences between the reference points heights, and tested methods. Monitoring procedure comprised utilization of total stations (TS), global navigation satellite system (GNSS), and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). In this paper, the Velenje coal mine was taken as a case study, and observation data were collected during 2017.

The article presents an analysis of offered ecological (environmental) insurances by insurance companies operating in Poland as an innovative tool to protect local environment. The purpose of this article is to analyse the role of insurance and reinsurance companies in managing environmental risks. The research method was an analysis of the environmental insurance offered to Polish enterprises and normative acts. The idea of ecological insurances was compared for selected EU countries and data for biggest ecological disasters. This concept helps create a source of funds to restore natural environment after damages which may occur due to human activity. Poland and Hungary are the countries with the highest number of ecological disasters but none financial protection is applied to reduce these threats.

This paper contributes to the analysis of the impact of FDI on host countries by taking into account the regional dimension of spillover effects. Focusing on the case of Ukraine, we explore the effects of inward FDI on changes in productivity, technology, and efficiency in local firms. For the country as a whole, the results suggest that the presence of foreign-owned firms had a negative impact on productivity change in local firms during the period 1999-2003. However, there were notable differences between the effects in the western and eastern parts of the country: the overall findings were mainly driven by the development in western Ukraine, whereas inward FDI in eastern Ukraine did not seem to have any impact on local productivity growth and technical change. These results arguably reflect deep economic and institutional differences between the two parts of Ukraine, which have led to differences in the character of incoming FDI and differences in the ability of local firms to benefit from FDI. The conclusion is that the impact of FDI on the host economy may vary even at the sub-national level, depending on the specific local environment.

The authors analyzed the environment protection measures and effectiveness of the environmental activities atCherepovetsiron and steel works which is situated vitally close to the specially protected natural area of international importance Darwin Nature Reserve. They show that the measures taken cover all essential issues to decrease the negative impact of the iron and steel works on the local ecosystems and human health according to the modern world practice. The measures include defining the basic pollutants and monitoring their release, modernizing manufacturing equipment to reduce contaminated wastewater discharges, air and soil pollution, safe disposal of industrial waste and diversified monitoring of the local environment. The above mentioned activities resulted in significant reduction of industrial waste, reduced water consumption and decrease in wastewater and soil pollution. After analyzing data of the independent monitoring of the environment the authors noted high efficiency of environment protection activity carried out in different years atCherepovetsiron and steel works. The results of the studies and the authors’ field research inDarwinnature resort showed improvements in the environmental conditions in the local area including improvement of the general state of the nature resort’s ecosystems. The state of the environment has basically improved, for example, in the past 5 years the air inCherepovetshas become cleaner, the pollutant content in soil and vegetation inDarwinnature resort area has also reduced.
