Purpose: to determine the dynamics of physical fitness of 5 grade pupils under the influence of outdoor games with elements of martial arts. Material and methods. The research was carried out in Kharkov, on the basis of a comprehensive school of I-III levels No 118. The study involved 40 students of 5t grade (20 experimental and 20 control groups). In the educational process, which was developed on the basis of the curriculum in physical culture for general educational institutions of grades 5-9 (approved by order of the Ministry of Education and Science of October 23, 2017 No 1407, we included outdoor games with elements of martial arts). During the research, the following methods were used: theoretical analysis and generalization of literary sources, Internet data, generalization of theoretical and practical experience of specialists in the field of physical culture and martial arts, pedagogical research, methods of mathematical statistics. Results: the analysis of the results obtained indicates that the indices of physical fitness are better in the experimental group than in the control group. The results of the arithmetic mean indicators when performing a 30-meter run in the experimental group were 6,45±0,1, in the control group 6,46±0,11 s; shuttle run test 4×9 m (s) in the experimental group – 11,74±0,16, in the control group - 11.83 ± 0.14; in the test, the long jump from the spot (cm), 146,55±3,05 and 146,55±3,05; indicators of the test performance long jump with a run (cm) in the experimental group are within 245-310 cm, in the control group 240-320; when throwing a small ball at a distance (m) in the experimental group – 22,45±1,12 and the control group – 20,15±1,05; indicators of pupils in the experimental and control groups in the test of raising the body in sitting for 30 seconds 23,4±0,82 and 20,65±0,85. Conclusions. Modern trends in physical education in general educational institutions require the teacher to search for new means and methods to expand the motor experience of students. This can be achieved through the targeted use of specialized outdoor games with elements of martial arts. After the pedagogical experiment, the level of competence of students in the experimental group is higher than that of the control group. The high level of competence in the experimental group ranges from 15 to 80 %, sufficient - from 20 to 50 % and average - from 15 to 35; in the control group, students predominantly have sufficient from 30 to 40 and average from 25 to 60 % and high from 15 to 60 %. The results of the indices of the coefficients of variation of the experimental and control groups are stable in terms of the general population in the tests: running 30 m (sec) – 7,42 and 7,79; shuttle run 4 × 9 m (s) 6,37 and 5,41; standing long jump (cm) 9,29 and 8,86; long jump with a run (cm) 6.77 and 7.87, moderately stable: throwing a small ball at a distance (m) 22,36 and 23,29; raising the body in a sitting position in 30 seconds (number of times) and 18,6. Keywords: physical culture, martial arts, students, lesson, means, elements.

Purpose: to determine the effectiveness of use the wrestling means of game and competitive nature in physical education of lyceum students with enhanced military and physical preparation. Material and methods. There were used methods of theoretical analysis and generalization of scientific literature, pedagogical observation, pedagogical experiment, methods of mathematical statistics. The study involved 49 students of 10th grade of the Lviv State Lyceum with enhanced military and physical preparation named after Heroes of Kruty, who were divided into control (KG, n=25) and experimental (EG, n=24) groups. The first was engaged during the semester in the traditional curriculum of physical culture, the second - in the author's program with an emphasis on the use of wrestling means of game and competition nature. Results: the professionalism of a military man requires versatile personal development already starting from the level of secondary education. An important component in the skill structure of the future defender of the Fatherland is the level of his physical preparedness. Today in lyceums with enhanced military and physical preparation there is a need to update the material on the subject of «physical culture» in the direction of finding new sports activities that on the one hand would be aimed at formation the necessary skills of future military man and on the other - develop important physical qualities for this profession. It is determined that positive changes also take place in various aspects of development and preparedness of participants in the studied groups. The average total increase in functional tests in EG participants was 5,7 %, and in CG pupils – only 2,0 %, and most of the changes in both groups were significant (p≤0,05-0,001). There were significant changes in the level of physical fitness of the participants in the pedagogical experiment. Thus, in EG pupils the total average increase of its level was 24,5 %, and in the studied of CG – only 8,9 %. According to the preparedness indices, the results also increased in both groups. In EG, the total average increase in index indicators was 4,1 %, while in CG – 1,6 % (p≤0,05–0,001), except for indicators of CG speed index and endurance index in EG (p>0,05). Conclusions. During the pedagogical experiment, in fact, for all groups of indicators, the author's program on physical culture with the use of wrestling means turned out to be more effective in comparison with the traditional program for students of 10th graders of the Lviv State Lyceum with enhanced military and physical preparation named after Heroes of Kruty. Positive changes were recorded in the level of functional capabilities of the participants of the studied groups. The average total increase was 5,7 % in the participants of the experimental group, and only 2,0 % in the students of the control group. Significant changes were also in the students’ physical fitness, the students of the experimental group had an overall average total increase in its level of 24,5 %, and the participants of the control group - only 8,9 %. Background: With an increase in the aged population, there is a growing concern regarding the care of the elderly. This study aims to identify effects of cognicise-neurofeedback on health locus of control, depression, and quantitative electroencephalography (QEEG) alpha asymmetry in elderly women. Methods: A quasi-experimental control group pre-test–post-test design was used. Korean women aged 65 years or over at a senior welfare center were randomly allocated to the control (n = 12) or experimental (n = 19) groups from July to October 2019. The intervention consisted of cognicise (exercise with intensified cognitive activity) and neurofeedback twice a week for 10 weeks. The locus of control and depression were measured via self-reported questionnaires. QEEG alpha asymmetry was measured using BrainMaster. Results: Depression significantly decreased in the experimental group (t = 4.113, p = 0.001), while internality in the locus of control significantly decreased in the control group (t = 3.023, p = 0.012). On the other hand, QEEG alpha asymmetry index differences in F3-F4 between the pre-test and post-test were not significant in the experimental group (t = 0.491, p = 0.629) or control group (t = 0.413, p = 0.678). Conclusions: Due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, contact between the elderly and healthcare workers in the clinical practice field has become more restricted. These findings can help decrease negative emotions among elderly women in the community based on an integrated neuroscientific approach.

This study analyzed the effects of an exercise training program consisting of a knee joint complex exercise device (leg-link system) with digitally controlled active motion function and squat movement on physical fitness and gait ability of elderly women aged 70 or above. Fifty four (54) elderly women aged 70 or above were divided into three groups as control group (n = 18), aerobic training group (n = 18), and combined training group with resistance and aerobic exercise (n = 18). Health-related physical fitness, gait ability-related physical fitness, and the temporal and spatial parameters of gait ability were compared. The health-related physical fitness after the 12-week training was not significantly altered in control group, whereas combined training group showed significant increase in all factors (p < 0.05) and aerobic training group showed significant increase (p < 0.05) only in the physical efficiency index. The gait ability-related physical fitness and all items of the temporal and spatial parameters of gait were found to have significantly increased (p < 0.05) in combined training group after the 12-week exercise training; however, in aerobic training group, only the factors related to muscular endurance and balance showed significant increase (p < 0.05). This study suggested that the exercise training consisting of knee joint complex exercise with digitally controlled active motion function and squat exercise for strengthening lower extremities and core muscles had positive effects on enhancing the ambulatory competence in elderly women.

We aimed to investigate the effect of Taekwondo training on physical fitness, mood, sociality, and cognitive function among international students in South Korea. We randomly assigned 24 international students to a control group (CG, n = 12) and experimental group (EG, n = 12). The EG performed Taekwondo training for 16 weeks, while the CG did not train. Each participant underwent a physical fitness test and sociability questionnaire before and after the intervention. We also examined changes in mood state and cognitive function, using the Korean version of the Profile of Mood State-Brief (K-POMS-B), and the Stroop Color and Word test, respectively. Regarding the physical fitness variables, sit-and-reach records in the EG significantly increased after intervention (p < 0.05). In the sub-variable of K-POMS-B, Vigor-Activity scores significantly increased (p < 0.05) after intervention, while the Fatigue-Inertia scores significantly decreased in the EG (p < 0.05). Furthermore, in the EG, peer relationship scores, a sub-variable of sociability, significantly decreased after intervention (p < 0.05). These findings suggest that Taekwondo training can not only improve flexibility among physical fitness factors, but can also be effective in improving the mood state and sociality of international students.

Objectives: In this paper, the effects of tobacco on aerobic exercise ability and physical fitness recovery of college students were studied. Methods: University group sports intervention form: traditional characteristic project (basketball) + Taiji soft ball (R&D intervention project). Exercise time: 3 times/week; Activity duration: 30min; Activity intensity: the heart rate is controlled at 120-140 beats/min. All the college students in the experimental group are students who have never smoked, and the college students in the control group are students who have smoked for more than two years. The other conditions are the same. Results: The exercise time and endurance of experimental groups I and II were significantly lower than those of the control group, and the cardiopulmonary function was significantly lower than that of the control group. The indexes of experimental group II changed significantly compared with experimental group I, and the difference was statistically significant. Conclusion: Cigarette smoke can significantly reduce the aerobic exercise ability and anti fatigue ability. The longer the smoking time, the more serious the adverse effects. Therefore, tobacco smoke and nicotine will damage college students’ aerobic exercise ability and have a negative impact on the recovery of physical fitness after exercise.
