Finding a cure when people get sick is an important thing. One of the efforts done by Kediri people in finding for a cure is to come to a Dukun (Shaman/traditional healer) Suwuk and Dukun Prewangan. The purposes of this research are to know the profiles and methods of Dukun Suwuk and Dukun Prewangan, and their role in curing diseases. This research used descriptive qualitative method. The results of this research show that (1) the process of healing and problem solution performed by Dukun Suwuk uses prayer as a key source of power. And Dukun Prewangan uses the help of supernatural beings who become their working partners to cure or resolve the problem, (2) Dukun Suwuk and Dukun Prewangan has an important role in society because of their presence is needed and respected. In addition, Dukun Suwuk and Dukun Prewangan who have been offering the services had experienced a lot of things as a living experience, (3) healing process performed by Dukun Suwuk and Dukun Prewangan is one solution for patients to be free from the ambiguous conditions of liminal stage. Choosing to go to a traditional healer healing is a rational choice for each patient.

The outbreak of Covid-19 in Mandailing Natal has caused several problems in the economic, educational and social fields. The problems that occur certainly really need the role of Baznas in overcoming them. The purpose of this research is to find out how the distribution of zakat in the process of preventing Covid-19 in Mandailing Natal and to know the perspective of maqashid sharia on this distribution. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method in the review of maqashid sharia. The results of the research show that the zakat distribution mechanism is carried out by means of Baznas actively engaging the community to call for zakat, it is even recommended to the public to take part in paying without having to be visited by Baznas or other policies including the muzakki's own workplace. Zakat distributed is not only in the form of money or food but is adjusted to the needs of the people affected by Covid-19 and is distributed periodically and Baznas is actively monitoring and evaluating the program. Zakat as an Islamic fiscal instrument has helped ease the burden on people affected by Covid. Consumptive zakat or productive zakat can be a mental solution and make the mustahik prosperous. Zakat together with its derivatives has brought enormous benefits to affected communities or other mustahiks. Zakat can guarantee the continuity of life in various aspects including maintaining life, property, religion, reason and of course zakat is the main object of maqashid sharia towards a prosperous society

ABSTRACT This article explains the result of Sa’Unine String Orchestra as one of Indonesian orchestras in popular culture. Main idea of this research is to uncover and describe the characteristic, func- tion, and role of Sa’Unine String Orchestra within the popular culture in Indonesia. This research used qualitative method with ethnographical approaches to identify all facts that discovered during research. The conclusions of this research show that Sa’Unine String Orchestra moves in two ways, there are; the idealism which had a vision to create a real Indonesian string orchestra and a part of music industry. At the end, these two ways are connected to each other because of the earnings of those. Music industry becomes a support factor which create the idealism of Sa’Unine String Or- chestra to be an Indonesian String Orchestra. Keywords: String Orchestra, Music, Popular Culture.

The theme of this research is about the strategy of labor carriers (buruh gendong) to exist in facing the various life dynamics around the area of Beringharjo market, Yogyakarta. Researcher desire to know how the strategy or effort done by all labor in order to take care of themselves existence and also how the role of the social capital that playing in a part of its effort. Strategy can be formulated as effort to take care of themselves existence as labor carry on the back woman at Beringharjo market. Method used in this research is the descriptive qualitative method. In this research, there are six labors of women carriers (buruh gendong perempuan) that still active work around the area of Beringharjo market taken as the informant object. According to them, we know how their efforts and strategy done to take care of themselves existence in facing of the dynamics life at Beringharjo market. One of their strategies is join the labor group in the area of Beringharjo market. Sayuk Rukun Association directs under construction an institution which interest in charwoman activity. A lot of efforts developed, for example cooperation, saving and loan and religious activity which usually always continued with the activity of health service. In religious activity, it also gives some materials to add their knowledge. In this research found some factors related to the background of the existence of labor woman carriers (buruh gendong perempuan) and also efforts done to maintain themselves in facing of market economics.   Keyword: Existence, Labor, Woman Carrier

The pastor cannot be separated from his ministry life. In the church, the pastor is a leader, the attitudes and actions of pastors are often imitated by their congregation. Therefore, the pastor must maintain the attitudes and actions of his congregation as well as possible, the most important thing is that he must be able to set an example for others. For this reason, this article describes Paul's life teaching in serving as the goal in this writing which is beneficial for the implementation of the shepherd in serving God and others. Using descriptive qualitative method with literature study and analysis approach. So it can be concluded that the implementation of teaching about the life of the Apostle Paul in serving is based on 2 Timothy 3:10-17, among others: The Apostle Paul's Way of Life (Verse 10a). The Patience of the Apostle Paul (Verse 10b). The love of the Apostle Paul (Verse 10c). Perseverance of the Apostle Paul (Verse 10d). Live Hold on to the truth (Verse 14). Seek to know the Scriptures (Verse 15a). Wisdom (Verse 15b). Faith in Jesus (Verse 15). Living in the Word (Verse 16) Willing to Teach God's Word (Verse 16a). Willing to admit mistakes (Verse 16b). Willing to correct behavior (Verse 16c). Willing to be educated in the truth (Verse 16d). Willing to do good (Verse 17). All of this can be a guide for pastors in implementing Paul's teachings for the church and its ministry entrusted by God.

Media Features beautiful as an ideal body shape which is slim, not fat with a flat stomach.  There are various beauty concepts which have been adopted by the mass media which stick in the public's mind. This often leads to acts of discrimination and bullying, which happened to a plus body size woman. Plus size women federation community (KAGUMI) has become a place for self expression and help for women of plus size to increase their confidence. This research aims to determine the communication strategy of Kagumi as a place to motivate and increase self confidence of their members. This research uses qualitative method; interviewees are the founder and members of Kagumi. The data obtained were analyzed using interactive analysis techniques including reduction, data presentation and conclusion. Results of this research show that the community role of Kagumi is a place to motivate through a credible communicator in conveying motivational messages can be quotes, words of wisdom which contain positive values for life, using inspirational stories through social media facebook, television, tabloids and offline activities. Obstacles encountered in the implementation of the communication strategy are self control from members, cyber crime and the spread of the message on a large scale in media which is contrary to the purpose of Kagumi.

This research aims to find out the problems of local community of Bayung Gede to develop tourism Village. Research technique as qualitative method to find, describe and understanding focus of this research. With purpossive sampling as the specific informant and technique analysis data used descriptive qualitative. The result of this research show a complex problems when local community of Bayung Gede develop their own tourism village.  The problems are garbage, infrastructure maintenance, vision and mission tourism village equalizing, souvenir core product and marketing icons. However, as long few years this tourism village has been succeed to done tourism activity with not forced participation or spontal typical participate. A'dangang ceremony is a cultural value in the Kajang Customary Area. The purpose of research to analyze the view of society and function of A'dangang Ceremony to the life of Kajang society. This type of research is descriptive qualitative method, data collection is used by observation, interview, and documentation. Processing techniques and data analysts performed through three stages of data reduction, presentation and draw conclusions. The results show there is a ceremony of death A'dangang, which consists of several levels, namely: a) Dampo Ceremony, b) Lajo-lajo Ceremony. The culture requires the role of government, cultural scientists, academics, journalists, students and all walks of life, to preserve traditional cultural heritage.Keywords: Structure, Ceremony, A'dangang

This research is descriptive qualitative research using the feminist literary criticism approach. The subject of this research are three novels by Okky Madasari which are titled: 1) Maryam, 2) 86, and 3) Entrok. The technique of data collecting used in this research is to study the library read the note, conducted by reading carefully and repeated thoroughly and classifying the data obtained based on women’s image. Analyzing data in this research use the descriptive qualitative method. The research finding in the form of physical women’s image, the image of women’s psychic and the role of women consisting of domestic and public areas. Domestic roles include as a child, wife, and mother. The role of women in the public domain consists of the educator, economic, and social movement sectors.

Christian Faith Resilience Amidst the Era of Disruption. The current era of disruption which is marked by the birth of various innovations and new technologies cannot be avoided by all people, organizations and churches. The era of disruption will affect the Christian faith, so that the attitudes, policies and culture adopted by believers who are Christian to the influence caused by this era of disruption will greatly determine the continuity of their Christian faith, whether it will continue to grow or will die completely. With a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study approach, the author proposes a conceptual frame of the role of the challenge of Christian faith in the era of disruption. The main source of analysis includes research results contained in journals and books, which are analyzed by looking at the relationship and compatibility with the title of the writing. The results of this study on the era of disruption and dimensions of Christian faith are then used to formulate the concept of resilience of the Christian faith in the era of disruption. There are eight main attitudes that must be developed in order to maintain Christian faith in this era of disruption.       Abstrak: Ketahanan Iman Kristen Di Tengah Era Disrupsi. Era disrupsi yang berlangsung saat ini yang ditandai dengan lahirnya berbagai inovasi dan teknologi baru tidak dapat dihindari oleh semua orang, organisasi dan gereja. Era disruspsi akan berpengaruh kepada iman Kristen, sehingga sikap, kebijakan serta budaya yang diambil oleh orang percaya yang ber-iman Kristen terhadap pengaruh yang ditimbulkan oleh era disrupsi ini sangat menentukan keberlangsungan iman Kristen-nya apakah akan kokoh terus berkembang atau akan mati total. Dengan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi literatur penulis mengemukakan sebuah bingkai konsep peran tantangan iman Kristen pada era disrupsi. Adapun sumber utama dari analisis meliputi hasil penelitian yang terdapat pada jurnal dan buku, yang dianalisis dengan cara mencermati hubungan dan kecocokan  dengan judul penulisan. Hasil kajian tentang era disrupsi dan dimensi-dimensi iman Kristen ini selanjutnya digunakan untuk menyusun konsep ketahanan iman Kristen pada era disrupsi. Terdapat delapan sikap utama yang harus dikembangkan guna mempertahankan iman Kristen di era disrupsi ini

Speech communication employs various and complex expressive ways ranging from linguistic to extralinguistic features, and it studies the interaction between the speaker and listener, including interpersonal interaction like the one between a patient and his or her traditional healer. This article discusses some of the issues concerning the language used in the traditional healing process which uses Baduy mantra among the community. Therefore, this study is interdisciplinary in nature and the overall approach is qualitative. Methodology-wise, this research is conducted using discourse analysis and an ethnography of communication. There are two aims from this study, which are: 1) to point out the linguistic and extralinguistic features utilised in the communication component related to activities contributing to the healing process; 2) to describe the meaning of the mantra used in the process of therapeutic practices; 3) to reveal the patterns of the Baduy medicinal mantra perceived from an ethnography of communication point of view. The results of the research indicate that the mimetic and expressive functions of mantra reflect the role of traditional therapeutic efforts as well as interpersonal relations among the members of the community. The extralinguistic elements are employed to arouse suggestion in order to support the effort of a treatment. Keywords: Baduy, communication, linguistic, extralinguistic, mantra.
