The purpose of the work was to explore the indicators of functional state and function of protein synthesis of the cow liver within experimental fasciolysis, sensitized to atypical mycobacteria. Ten cows of black-and-white breed were selected for the experiments. Two groups consisting of five animals each were formed. The control group cows were clinically healthy. The animals of the experimental group were contaminated with mycobacteriosis and fascicular invasion. In the course of research, the rules for performing zootechnical experiments on the selection and maintenance of animal-analogues in the group, harvesting technology, use and accounting of consumed feed were followed. Being impacted by fascicular invasion, the cattle sensitized with mycobacteria demonstrated the suppression of the liver protein synthesis function, which manifests itself as a decrease in total blood protein, a decrease in the level of albumins and an increase in the level of globulins. According to the clinical manifestation of fasciolosis in the cattle sensitized with atypical mycobacteria, disease pathogens have a toxic effect on hepatocytes causing an increase in the permeability of the biological membranes of the cell membranes. The indicated changes lead to an increase in the activity of blood serum enzymes, in particular, aminotransferases (AsAT and AlAT) and alkaline phosphatase. High activity of AlAT and AsAT in the blood serum of the cows under experimental fasciolysis sensitized by atypical mycobacteria, indicates destructive processes in the liver that cause release of aminotransaminases from cellular organelles in the blood of the cattle. Thus, the results obtained indicate an increase in destructive processes in the body of the cows under experimental fascioliasis sensitized with atypical mycobacteria.

The article presents the results of studies on the influence of cadmium sulfate in different doses on the organism of poultry. Absorbed cadmium accumulates in the liver as a complex with metallothionein. The purpose of the work was to find out the effect of cadmium sulfate in doses of 2 and 4 mg / kg of body weight on the functional state of the liver of chicken. For research, three groups of birds were formed: control and two experimental. The control group of chickens were in the usual diet, they were fed with forage and were given water without introducing cadmium sulfate. To the drinking water of chickens of experimental groups for 30 days, added cadmium sulfate in doses: the first group – 2 mg/kg, the second group – 4 mg/kg body weight. The conditions for keeping chickens and the microclimate parameters in the room for all bird groups were similar. Blood from the chickens was taken from the subclavian vein in periods: before the dasg was given and on the first, seventh, fourteenth, twenty-first and thirtieth day of the experiment. It was determined that the presentation of cadmium sulfate in doses of 2 and 4 mg/kg of body weight of cows, which contributed to a violation of the functional state of the liver, as evidenced by the increased activity of aminotransferases in their blood serum. The activity of alanine and aspartate aminotransferase was higher in serum of blood of chickens in the second experimental group at 21st and 30th days of the experiment. The high activity of aminotransferases in the blood serum of chickens for cadmium loading indicates destructive processes in the liver that cause an increase in the release of aminotransaminases from cellular organelles in the blood of experimental poultry. Thus, the obtained results indicate an increase in destructive processes in the body of chickens for cadmium loading.

To evaluate possibilities of aspirin-induced gastroduodenopathy treatment in the patients with chronic ischemic heart disease by means of applying the internal endogenous prostaglandins stimulant.  Material and methods. 340 patients suffering from chronic coronary heart disease and receiving a long-term acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) therapy were examined on the base of the cardiovascular care unit of The Nizhny Novgorod Regional Clinical Hospital named after N.A. Semaschko. There were evaluated frequency, nature and severity of the aspirin-induced gastroduodenopathy. The patients with coronary heart disease and aspirin-induced gastroduodenopathy were divided in two groups. In the first group of patients there was applied rebamipide therapy (in a single daily dose 300 mg) in combination with the proton pump inhibitor (PPI) — pantoprazole. In the second group there was applied only pantoprazole therapy. For the purpose of specification of AIG pathogenetic mechanisms development, all the examined chronic coronary heart disease cases were tested on the prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) level in blood serum before the therapy beginning and after the treatment. The control group was formed of chronic coronary heart disease patients showing no AIG evidence. Statistical processing of the received data was fulfilled with the program «Statistika 10.0». Results. AIG was registered in 15% out of 340 chronic coronary heart disease patients. According to the endoscopic examination erosive disease of the body and antrum prevailed among the patients. The PGE2 level in the blood serum was significantly lower (р = 0,00087) in these patients in comparison with the control group. In association with PPI and rebamipide mixed therapy, esophagogastroduodenoscopy results showed no pathological findings in gastrointestinal mucosa and statistically significant (р = 0,00067) blood serum PGE2 level growing in all the treated patients. As a result of exclusive PPI therapy there was marked positive dynamics in endoscopic view in 19 out of 25 patients and a tendency to normalization of PGE2 level in the blood serum. However, PGE2 level growing was insignificant. Conclusion. The presented research demonstrates the possibility of AIG treatment with the use of internal endogenous prostaglandins stimulant — rebamipide in complex with proton pump inhibitor PPI therapy.

Diabetes mellitus is prevalent in many countries of the world, affecting all ages both in developing and developed nations. The use of plants as remedies or preventive therapies has increased over the years. The study investigated the biochemical changes caused by  combined leaf extracts of Vernonia amygdalina (bitter leaf) and Gnetum africanum (okazi leaf) on alloxan induced diabetic wistar rats.Aqueous extracts of the leaves were prepared using the conventional method.Forty male wistar rats weighing 150-180g were  grouped into eight (five rats each). Group 1 was the normal control while diabetes was induced using alloxan (160mg/ kg)in groups 2-8.Group 2 received no treatment while groups 3-7 received varied ratios of the extracts at (BI/OK|10:90%), (BI/OK|30:70%),  (BI/OK|50:50%), (BI/OK|70:30%) and (BI/OK|90:10%). Group 8 was the diabetic control treated with the standard diabetic drug (Metformin). The animals were weighed and blood glucose was determined at 7-day intervals. They were sacrificed on the 28th day and blood samples collected for serum protein, serum electrolyte, urea, creatinine, liver enzymes and markers of oxidative stress analyses.  The results showed steady increase in the body weights (g) of the rats with (BI/OK|70:30)% treated group showing the highest increase (175.40±1.28). The fasting blood sugar (mg/dl) showed timedependent reduction in all the treated diabeti groups with (BI/OK|90:10)% having the highest (56.20±1.65) reduction. There was a significant increase (p<0.05) in total blood protein concentration (g/dl) in all the treated groups. The results of this study showed time and ratio dependent effect on the parameters measured. Since the two plants are staple vegetables in some countries, their utilization particularly in appropriate combinations should be encouraged. Key words: Extracts, bitter leaf, waterleaf, diabetes mellitus, biochemical parameters.

The combined action of pesticides is one of the problems of toxicology, because in comparison to individual active substances, their mixtures can increase toxicity and delayed action effects, which is a risk to human health. It is known that plant growth regulators (PGR) when applied together with pesticides help to reduce the quantitative rates of pesticides applied, the accumulation of pesticides and heavy metals in plants, reduce the acute toxicity of xenobiotics. The combined effect of the prolonged admission of PGRs and pesticides is an unexplored area, and it is an important issue in preventive toxicology. The Aim of the Research. Determination of the nature of toxic effects of Chlorpyrifos and “Ivin” combined action at subchronic oral admission. Materials and Methods. Chlorpyrifos and PGR “Ivin” (2.6-dimethyl-N-pyridine oxide) combined action was studied on male Wistar Han rats. Substances were administered orally, via a feeding tube for 13 weeks; Chlorpyrifos was administered in the form of an aqueous emulsion with an auxiliary material OP-10 at a dose of 5 mg/kg (1/15 LD50), “Ivin” — in the form of an aqueous solution at a dose of 13 mg/kg and 0.013 mg/kg (1/100 and 1/100000 LD50 respectively), the control group of rats was given water with an auxiliary material OP-10. Signs of intoxication were recorded, body weight was measured in 4, 9 and 13 weeks, biochemical indicators of blood serum were determined (the activity of ALT and AST enzymes and alkaline phosphatase; the content of crude protein, urea, cholesterol, triglycerides and glucose were determined using kits of reagents by BioSystems (Spain); cholinesterase (ChE) activity in serum, red blood cells and brain tissue was determined with the use of methodology by Hesrtin S. using a kit of reagents produced by LLC NPP Filisit-Diagnostics (Ukraine). Results. No clinical signs of intoxication were detected in the experimental groups of rats. Under the isolated use of Chlorpyrifos a significant decrease in body weight, ChE inhibition activity in all bio substrates, with the greatest effect in the brain (by 48.8%); increase (after 9 and 13 weeks) in the activity of ALT and AST by 26.7–32.6%, 12.5–12.0%; a slight but a significant increase in the level of urea and glucose in blood serum to 17.3% and 17.6 %, respectively was detected. Under the combined action of Chlorpyrifos and “Ivin” in specified doses the body weight of rats was at control level, decrease of ChE activity was observed in all biological substrates and was at nearly the same level with the isolated use of Chlorpyrifos. There was a tendency towards the decline in ChE inhibition activity in brain tissue, and under the combined action of Chlorpyrifos with “Ivin” at higher doses after 4 weeks this effect was a significant (22.15%, p < 0.05). Conclusions. Chlorpyrifos under the isolated oral admission for 13 weeks has a weak hepatotoxic effect, as evidenced by the increase in cytolysis enzymes and urea levels in serum and causes a moderate anticholinesterase effect. “Ivin” under combined with Chlorpyrifos admission to the organism eliminates the hepatotoxic effects of Chlorpyrifos and reduces its anticholinergic effects in brain, which contributes to a less severe intoxication. Key Words: Chlorpyrifos, Ivin, hepatotoxic effect, anticholinesterase effect.

The aim is to study the level of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) and insulin-like growth factor-2 (IGF-2) in the blood serum of patients with papillary thyroid cancer, depending on the main clinical and morphological features of the disease. Materials and methods: The material was the information about 60 patients with papillary thyroid cancer (group 1). In group 2 there were 10 patients without oncopathology. All patients underwent clinical examination after total thyroidectomy before special treatment (radioiodine therapy): ultrasound diagnosis of the neck, confirmed diagnosis of papillary thyroid cancer by morphological examination of operative material. All patients underwent anthropometric studies (height, weight), on the basis of which the body mass index (BMI) was calculated. The study program also included determination of the level of thyroid-stimulating hormone of the pituitary gland (TSH), thyroglobulin (TG), antibodies to thyroglobulin (AB-TG). It was also determined the serum glucose level. In order to assess insulin resistance, the HOMA-IR index was calculated. All patients were tested for serum IGF-1 and IGF-2. Results: In the blood serum of patients with papillary thyroid cancer in 63% of patients the level of IGF-1 and in 85% – IGF-2 was probably higher than in the control group. There is a relationship between the level of IGF-1, IGF-2 and elevated level of proliferating factor – insulin in the serum of patients with papillary thyroid cancer. This may indicate an aggressive potential of the disease (i.e. clinical data on the prevalence of papillary thyroid cancer coincide with laboratory data). There was found a relationship between the expression of IGF-1, IGF-2 and insulin: at elevated levels of insulin> 24.9 μIU/ml, IGF-1 increases 4.2 times, and IGF-2 – 2.5 times. Evaluation of the relationship between the level of IGF-1 and IGF-2 and cervical lymph node involvement shows that in the absence of lesion (N0) there is an increase in these indicators by 2.2 and 1.8 times, respectively. Conclusions: The signaling system of insulin-like growth factors (IGF-1 and IGF-2) plays an important role in the occurrence and progression of malignant tumors. It is especially true for papillary thyroid cancer, so its components can be considered as potential diagnostic and prognostic markers of the disease and targets for anticancer therapy.

The purpose of the research is to increase the effectiveness of the supplement Reasil on the growth of milk-fed calves. For the scientific and economic experience, three groups of calves were formed (control, 1 and 2 experi-enced). Groups of animals of 10 heads were formed according to the principle of analogues. The indicators of live weight, growth and blood of calves were studied after Reasil use in a diet: Reasil HumicVet as a liquid form, and Reasil Humic Health – reduced to powder. In the experiment, animals of a black-and-white breed were used. The Reasil feeding in the diet contributed to an increase in the live weight of milk-fed calves in the 1-st and the 2-nd experimental groups at two months of age by 5.65 and 5.48 kg (or by 7.4 and 7.2%), respectively, compared to the indicator of the control group analogues. The average daily growth of calves of the experimental groups exceeded this indicator of control animals by 96 and 82 g, respectively. The blood of calves of the 1st and 2nd experimental groups, showed that hematoglobin was higher by 15.7 and 11.4%, red blood cells – by 16.5 and 15.1%, and the alkaline reserve – by 5.2%, compared with blood of calves from the control group, which indicates the activation of metabolic processes in the body. The total protein amount in the blood serum of animals from the experimental groups increased by 8.4 and 5.9% respectively, compared to the tests of calves from the control group. The albu-min content of animals of the 1st experimental group tested was higher by 5.3%; from the 2nd experimental group there was no significant difference compared to the control. The number of gamma-globulins in the blood of ani-mals of the experimental groups increased, which indicates an increase in defense reaction of animals. The con-tent of calcium in the blood serum of calves from the experimental groups was higher by 8.3 and 5.9%, phosphorus – by 4.8 and 2.4%, which indicates a more effective use of these mineral elements.

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of supplement «Press-Acid» on some parameters of mineral and protein metabolism and resistance of piglets. The study was done in condition «Meta» on two groups of piglets of the F-1 (BWхL) genotype. There were determined indexes of bacterial and lysocim activity of blood serum, calcium and phosphorus in piglets at the age of 21–30–45–75 days. Effect of supplement on the growth rate, morbidity and safety of pigs were revealed. We used hygienic, zootechnical, hematological, biochemical, immunological and statistical methods of analysis. The influence of «Press-Acid», which consist of formic, lactic, citric and fumaric acids, was established for the first time. The concentration of calcium in blood serum of experimental group of piglets were lower than in animals of control group. The level of phosphorus increased in blood serum of experimental animals on 11.83% (30 day), on 3.74% (45%), on 17.65% (75 day) respectively. Concentration of hemoglobin and the amount of erythrocytes increased on 11.8% and on 1.82% (30 day) in animals that feed the supplement. There were established the increase of viability of the pigs with gastro-intestinal diseases which were given the supplement in comparison with that, who did not feed it. Severity of diseases was determined using the Melenberg coefficient which did not higher than 1.2–2.4 score, it was lower on 6,0–9,3 unit than in control group. Using the supplement allowed to increase the intensity of growth of piglets by 3.7% (45 day) and 9.4% (75 day) respectively. Concentration of total protein, albumines and globulins increased on 8.66%, 9.90%, 7.3% respectively. The activity of alaninaminotransphaerasae in the blood serum of experimental animals were lower on 3.45% than in control piglets. Lysocym and bacterial activity of blood serum were higher in experimental group of piglets. Feeding piglets with addition supplement Press Acid promotes higher grow rates in experimental animals, that can be explained increases of oxidative-reducing processes in them organism. Feeding piglets with acidifier «Press-Acid», «Nifulin», zinc oxide, probiotics «Lactisan Complex» promotes growth energy, increase of morphological, biochemical and immunological parameters which indicates a higher level of oxidative reaction in the body. A low coefficient of Melenberg is recorded in the piglets at the age of 1 day. Safety was within 92.1–97.0%. That indicates a more successful elimination of complexes of protein, mineral substances, humoral protection in blood of experimental group of animals.

Aim. To assess the plasma protein fractions as organism’s reaction to osteosynthesis by medical devices made of medical steel and of medical steel coated by titanium and gafnium nitrides mixture. Methods. Diaphyseal tibial fracture was modeled on 30 rabbits with further assessment of animal organism reaction to osteosynthesis by pins made of medical steel and of medical steel coated by super-hard metal nitrides mixture. The change of blood plasma protein fractions and acute phase reactants was used as an indicator. Measurements were performed before the osteosynthesis and on the 5th and 180th day after the surgery. Results. Together with the stable level of total blood protein, dysproteinemia characteristic for acute phase of the inflammation was observed after the trauma and reparatory process induction. Two-waived reaction was registered. The first developed at the 5th day after the surgery and was characterized by the drop of blood albumin level together with α- and β2-globulin levels increase, the reaction was observed in the intervention group earlier compared to control group. The second wave developed at the 180th day and was characterized by β2- and γ-globulin levels increase. The registered changes corresponded with the phases of acute non-specific response, which includes the overproduction of «positive» and decreased production of «negative» acute phase reactants by liver, influenced by cytokines, as well as later adaptive immune response. Conclusion. Overall, the intensity of acute phase reactions was lower in the intervention group, indicating less damage associated with titanium and gafnium nitrides coated implants use.

The use of «Arkusit» at a dose of 20 μg / kg of body weight indicates a beneficial effect on the factors of nonspecific resistance of the silver-black fox. The concentration of alkaline phosphatase in the blood serum in the experimental group decreased by 1.8 times (P <0.001), the ALT index - by 1.2 (P <0.05). The concentration of glucose in the experimental group increased 2 times (P <0.05) compared with the control group. In animals of the experimental group, the lysozyme activity of blood serum increased 1.3 times (P <0.05), the OPR reaction and the phagocytic index - 1.4 times (P <0.05), the bactericidal activity of blood serum - 1.8 times (P <0.05). «Arcusit» stimulates the synthesis of gamma globulins, increases the opsonophagocytic, bactericidal activity of blood serum. Thus, the analysis of experimental data indicates that the drug «Arcusit» has a pronounced immunostimulating effect, providing the activation of factors of nonspecific resistance of the body of the silver-black fox.

The article deals with a comparative analysis of biochemical and morphological parameters of blood of Holstein cows during the transit period of lactation and obtained from them heifers of the dairy period. The content of globulin in the blood serum of group 1 cows at 1 month of lactation is 56,0 g/l, at 3 months 53,9 g / l, which is significantly higher than the level in other groups (P≤0,05). In group 3 cows at the 3rd month of lactation, creatinine significantly increased to 74,8 mmol/l (P≤0,05). The blood content of alkaline phosphatase in 1 month of lactation in all examined animals is normal. The blood glucose level in cows is kept in the range of 3,6-4,0 at 1 month and 2,7 – 4,3 at 3 months of lactation (at the norm of 2,0 – 4,8 mmol/l). The concentration of total blood protein in calves at 3 months is within the normal range, but the variation was from 70,3 in group 1 to 84,4 g / l in group 3 (P≤0,05). Significant changes in the serum creatinine content at the 3rd month of life of experimental calves of group 3 up to 73,6 mmol/l (P≤0,10) within the normal range determine the intensity of adaptive mechanisms. Glucose in the blood serum of heifers is at the upper limit of the norm in groups 1 and 2 – 4,9 mmol/l (the norm is 4,8 mmol/l), which indicates a fairly high energy security of the calves ' diet. Total bilirubin in the blood serum of heifers of groups 1 and 2 is slightly higher than normal (the upper limit of the norm is 8,15) – 9,3 and 8,7 mmol/l. By the third month, the total bilirubin content in the blood of group 2 heifers increased to 10,7 mmol/l (P≤0,05), in the rest – within the normal range.
