The recently created RuWordNet thesaurus reflects hierarchical, primarily synonymous, relations in the vocabulary so that it is built from a set of synsets. In this paper, we applied the method of a comparative analysis: we compared the data of classical dictionaries of Russian language synonyms, RuWordNet thesaurus and the results of a students' poll. The students represent two areas of specialization: linguistic and nonliguistic. As a result of the psychosemantic experiment, we specified the criteria for the distribution of lexical units among synsets. We referred to them cognitive, semantic, stylistic and quantitative criteria. The quantitative method made it possible to determine the fixation frequency of synonyms for the stimulus word in the respondents' minds. The results of the experiment showed that the most adequate principle, implemented in verbal and cogitative activity by the identifying of the synonymic chains, is a pragmatic one. It reveals itself in the possibility of the interchange of similar in meaning words in different contexts. The research results contain recommendations on the systematization of linguistic information in the RuWordNet thesaurus, aimed at improving the principles of synsets' building. The performed research is aimed at verifying the reflected in RuWordNet data from the point of view of their correspondence to the real idea of native speakers of the synonymic, hyponymic and other system-based relationship in the vocabulary.

The article discusses the issue of pragmatic meanings of diminutive forms in the Russian language from the point of view of politeness and speech act theories. The impact of diminutives on the illocutionary force and perlocutionary effects of speech acts raises the question of their appropriateness in various communicative situations. Since there is a negative bias towards diminutives among lay native speakers, it was decided to analyse their opinions, beliefs and feelings in order to define 1) the speakers illocutionary intentions; 2) contexts of use and 3) perlocutionary effects. The online articles, forums, posts on social networks and comments of Internet users were collected, with a total amount of 23 sources and 714 user comments. The emic and bottom-up approach referred to speakers intuition reveal 1) negative attitude towards diminutives in hierarchical relationships, 2) perception of diminutives as a positive politeness tool in low distance relationships, 3) perception of diminutives as a manipulative tool in unequal relationships. Thus, the appropriate use of diminutives calls for pragmatic skills to assess a communicative situation in terms of social variables, such as social distance and power, mutual costs and benefits, rights and obligations of interlocutors.

The article is devoted to the description of a synonymous series of Russian verbs with a dominant idle against the background of the Vietnamese language for further presentation of Russian units in a Vietnamese audience. The approaches to the study of synonymous units traditionally highlighted in Russian linguistics are considered. The relevance of an integrative approach to the analysis of synonyms for linguodidactic purposes is substantiated. The novelty of the study is that such a comprehensive approach allows us to analyze synonyms at the level of the language system, discourse and language consciousness of native speakers. The relevance of the study is due to the fact that the synonymous row under study is included in the lexico-semantic group of behavior verbs, nuclear for the Russian language, as well as the lack of training dictionaries of Russian synonyms for foreign students. The authors determine the structure of the studied synonymic row in the Russian language, analyze the semantics, typical situations of use, the stylistic classification of units according to the components that make up the synonymic series. Particular attention is paid to data from a survey of native Russian speakers. A comparative analysis of Russian synonyms and their translation equivalents in the Vietnamese language is presented. Relevant parameters of the characteristics of the members of the synonymous row are identified to optimize the work with these units in the Vietnamese audience. Linguistic and methodological recommendations on the presentation of Russian synonyms in a Vietnamese audience are offered.

Learning the character's linguistic personality is impossible without exploring its individual vocabulary. The study was based on the novels Pearl Buck "Imperial woman" and Pavlo Zagrebelniy "Roxolana". The main theoretical aspects of the concept of "character’s individual lexicon" are considered in the article. The terms "individual lexicon", "mental lexicon" and "internal lexicon" are specified. The comparative analysis of the individual lexicon of the real linguistic personality and character’s linguistic personality is carried out. The independent value of the character’s individual lexicon is determined. Analysis of the individual lexicon is performed at the morphological and syntactic level. For both heroines, concepts such as knowledge, hope, children, freedom, greatness (triumph), painting (singing) are most essential. In other cases, Roxolana's priorities are faith, native land, happiness, salvation. For Tzu Hsi - peace, triumph, debt, people. The individual lexicon of the character is characterized by the distinctive characteristics of the linguistic personality (the closeness of the list of lexical units, statical state of the system). The individual lexicons of the characters share common morphological indicators (nouns and verbs predominate). From the point of view of syntax the prevailing use of direct imperative forms in the communicative acts of the characters has been revealed (order, requirement Tzu Hsi - 48%, Roxolana -35%). In the speech of both characters in the analysis of the affirmative form of imperative is dominated by verbs of movement and auditory perception. Direct imperative forms testify to the highest situational and status position of both ladies. Threat sentences are more typical of Tzu Hsi. Indirect imperative forms (request, offer, advice, persuasion, praise, support and consolation) are dominant in Roxolana’s individual lexicon.

Today, the linguocultural approach to teaching RFL is considered the most promising and significant. Every culture has words that native speakers avoid either subconsciously or consciously. These forbidden words reflect the cultural characteristics of a particular nation; they are a necessary component of a linguistic personality and are directly related to formation and functioning of a conceptual picture of the world of a particular ethnic group. Mastering a language is impossible without understanding the culture of the people being studied, and taboo vocabulary is, of course, a significant part of our language and culture. The article presents an attempt to consider the taboo vocabulary of the modern Russian language from the point of view of the necessity and the possibility of teaching it in the RFL course for foreign philology students. In particular, there is a change in the causes of emergence of modern speech taboos: if earlier the main reason for taboos was fear, then today we are talking about psycholinguistic changes in society related to the general orientation towards tolerance, providing all members of society with equal opportunities. Nowadays, this is the main reason for the taboo on certain words. In addition, the author argues that taboo topics will not be the same for intra-communication and intercultural communication (as an example, we can talk about negative ethnic stereotypes). Finally, the RFL teacher is asked the question: should a taboo vocabulary be discussed in class with foreign students? And if so, what is the mechanism for teaching “forbidden” words? The author concludes that, despite some exotic themes, knowledge of the vocabulary tabooed in our culture is extremely important for foreign students, as it will help them not in the predictable atmosphere of the university, but in real life. Obviously, in the system of teaching taboo vocabulary, it is advisable to use the system of language and speech tasks, pretext, text and posttext tasks that is familiar to teachers. As an illustration, the author offers samples of several such exercises, noting that not only sentences modeled by the teacher, but also adapted texts of different styles of speech can serve as examples.

In the real decision process, an important problem is how to express the attribute value more efficiently and accurately. In the real world, because of the complexity of decision-making problems and the fuzziness of decision-making environments, it is not enough to express attribute values of alternatives by exact values. For this managing with such sorts of issues, the principle of Linear Diophantine uncertain linguistic set is a valuable and capable technique to manage awkward and inconsistent information in everyday life problems. In this manuscript, we propose the original idea of Linear Diophantine uncertain linguistic set and elaborated their essential laws. Additionally, to determine the association among any numbers of attributes, we elaborated the Linear Diophantine uncertain linguistic arithmetic Heronian mean operator, Linear Diophantine uncertain linguistic weighted arithmetic Heronian mean operator, Linear Diophantine uncertain linguistic geometric Heronian mean operator, Linear Diophantine uncertain linguistic weighted geometric Heronian mean operator, and their properties are also discovered. By using these operators, we utilize the multi-attribute decision-making procedure by using elaborated operators. To determine the consistency and validity of the elaborated operators, we illustrate some examples by using explored operators. Finally, the superiority and comparative analysis of the elaborated operators with some existing operators are also determined and justified with the help of a graphical point of view.

This paper is devoted to the problem of learning Russian by native speakers of the Polish language. The presented research is made in the context of the language-oriented approach and includes linguistic experiment, comparative analysis of Russian and Polish languages and identification of problem areas causing interference errors. A system of rules and exercises for Polish learners of Russian is being proposed as a recommended practice for excluding interference errors. The language-oriented approach used in this report is based, first, on provisions that take into account the already existing initial language system of learners, second, on a comparative analysis of languages, and third, on an analysis of learners’ mistakes. Mastering a foreign language takes place in close interaction with language systems in the minds of students. In the situation of interaction between two contacting languages, interference is likely to occur. Identification of interference errors in the analysis of speech of foreign languages allows us to identify problem areas in the studied language and correct the language skill in the course of learning. Typical mistakes are material for creating the necessary strategy of teaching the Russian language for native speakers of a certain language. Keywords: interference, Polish language, Russian language, learning Russian as a foreign language, language-oriented approach

The purpose of the present article is to describe the significance of translator's notes from the point of view of localization of English works of fiction for Russian readership, as well as to identify the types of lexical units that become object of adaptation and the degree of their explication. The theoretical and methodological basis of this study is made up of the key provisions of translation studies, the study of linguistic localization and the study of literary discourse. Within the framework of the present research, a comparative analysis of the concepts of adaptation (pragmatic adaptation) and localization has been carried out to substantiate the advisability of using a new term to name culturally determined modifications of the original text. The characteristics of a literary text have been established, which make it possible to classify works of fiction as objects of localization. Content analysis of the English and Russian versions of the novels Cloud Atlas, The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet and The Slade House by the British writer D. Mitchell has been carried out. The original English-language and translated Russian-language versions of the specified literary works are analyzed, in particular, a comparative analysis of the English-language lexical units and phrases, accompanied by translator's notes in the secondary texts, has been conducted. The advantages of notes as a form of localization of literary texts are indicated. They consist in the possibility of a more detailed and quick description of foreign cultural units in comparison with intra-text transformations.
