The article is devoted to substantiation of influence of personal experience as an organized semantic formation on the development of a psychologist professional competence. It is shown that the problem of professional competence development should be considered in the context of a post-nonclassical methodological approach that interprets an individual as a person which is capable of self-determination, self-creation and self-designing. The experience constructing as a necessary condition for personal development is interpreted as bringing sociocultural and personal information into the system, organizing this information into related structures that help to understand its meaning. Professional competence is considered as the unity of knowledge, which is necessary for successful professional activity and experience, which involves not only the possession of necessary practical skills and abilities, but also the presence of a specialist’s developed field of professional meanings, which determine the creative nature of the psychologist’s professional activity to a large extent. The personal experience is an organized and holistic structure, the source material for which is provided by real life and professional events. It can be considered as comprehension and ordering of current events, which arise in certain life and professional situations, and, being defined, understood and interpreted, they are transformed into personal experience. The main components of professional competence are cognitive, operational and communicative. They are formed at different stages of education in the process of carrying out the following activities: educational quasi-professional and educational-professional. It is shown that the development of all professional competence types is based on understanding a students’ personal experience and to a great extent depends on the successful resolution of major conflicts – inconsistencies, desemantization and semantic conflict. Failure to resolve these conflicts blocks the development of the future specialist’s semantic sphere and leads to the person’s professional experience rigidity, uncertainty in his own professional capabilities, frustration in the future profession. It is proved that one of the conditions for resolving major conflicts is the development of the ability to understand and interpret, which are important procedures of the psychologist’s practical activities, as well as his self-knowledge, self-development and professional reflection, thus enriching his professional and personal experience. It is also shown that the development of new schemes and scenarios of professional activity with the help of two main mechanisms for understanding and interpreting personal experience – semiotic and communicative, as well as the development of dialogism as one of the professionally important qualities of a psychologist, plays an important role in the development of a psychologist’s professional competence.

The quality of a teacher's professional activity is closely tied to personal growth. Personal growth, however, is influenced by self-knowledge (K. G. Jung 1994, 2001; Wilber 2010, 2013; Plotkin, 2020; Dispenza, 2015, 2016). Nowadays, there is a shift in the approaches of upbringing and educational work – from a child-focused approach to a child-centered one (OECD, 2019). Therefore, one of the currently relevant skills is getting to know oneself in order to cooperate more successfully with others and be able to accept real-life situations. The results obtained confirm that through the self-knowledge process, teachers get to experience their own personality growth. Categories such as empathy, attitude, and daringness are identified in personal growth. The research shows that by experiencing the procedural activities of self-knowledge with the help of “Get to know yourself!” method and methodological tool developed by the author, teachers improve their emotional responsiveness. The results of the study show that through the experiences gained in the self-knowledge process, teachers learn to integrate new models of action into their pedagogical activities. The aim of the study was to show the importance of self-knowledge in improving teachers' emotional responsiveness in lifelong education, by using the method "Get to know yourself!" developed by the author of the study. The objectives of the study were literature examination and evaluation and work with the target audience by using the author's method and methodological tool "Get to know yourself!".Methods: Literature studies, survey, observation.

The article discusses some aspects to be taken into account when preparing polygraph examiners in order to form skills for conducting polygraph tests using search tests related to the method of revealing hidden information. Search tests have their own characteristics and differ from other tests, both in the degree of complexity and the composition of the methodological techniques used, and in the degree of accuracy and reliability of the results obtained. The use of search tests assumes that the polygraph examiner has not only knowledge, but also practical skills to perform a certain sequence of actions for their use, as well as the interpretation of the results obtained. Special attention is paid to the consideration of a number of difficulties that arise when using search tests, directly related to the interpretation of the information received and the development of techniques for the formation of skills for solving them. The authors put the main emphasis on the fact that in the process of training polygraph examiners, self-conducting polygraph tests when solving problems modeled on the basis of situations from practical activities, as well as a detailed consideration of the causes of psychophysiological reactions, will contribute to improving the level of professional competence in decision-making in nonstandard situations. In addition, conducting a detailed analysis of the results obtained, taking into account the interpretation of the recorded reactions when using search tests, will help to reduce the likelihood of making errors of various types in the real conditions of the future polygraph examiner’s professional activity.

The purpose of the research is to define the proficiency state of the motivation- and value-related components of the professional competence acquired by the specialists in the field of processing and food productions (based on the results of the experiment which involved the first-year students specialised in 181 "Food technologies"). To determine the proficiency of level of the motivation- and value-related components of the professional competence to be acquired by the future specialists in the field of processing and food productions we used the methodologies adapted to our research: the testing of person’s value-related reference points and the testing of person’s capacity for self-discovery. The experiment was aimed at revealing and comparing future specialists’ motivation to study, basic reasons for educational activity, grounds for choosing a profession, and value-related orientations of the students constituting experimental and control (general) groups. The experiment involved the students specialised in 181 "Food technologies" in Kharkiv State University for Food Technologies and Trade, Kharkiv Petro Vasylenko National Technical University of Agriculture and Kharkiv Cooperative Trade and Economic College. The experiment consisted of two stages. At the first stage, 237 future specialists participated in the continuous questioning specially elaborated by the author. On the second stage, the first-year (two groups) and the second-year students (two groups) were tested according to the methodology "Motivation for study": test 1 "Studying the reasons of students’ educational activity”, test 2 "The necessities to develop students’ self-evaluation". The future specialists in the field of processing and food production acquired the professional competencies during the pedagogical events facilitating the development of stable motivation for their professional activity. The experiment allowed us to affirm that the professional competence demonstrated by the future specialists in the field of processing and food productions consists of some components, the motivation- and value-related component being one of them. On the whole, the results of the questioning confirmed the insufficient (reproductive) proficiency level which the future specialists of processing and food production demonstrated within the professional competence. The results of the first stage of the experiment (continuous questioning) testify that it is important for most students rather to get an appraisal than acquire knowledge. Most students failed to give any reasons for self-perfection or systematic professional development.

The article addresses the problem of a current trend in foreign and domestic psychological science which is self-regulation among professionals working under extreme conditions. Self regulation in risk situations plays a crucial role in making decisions and choosing strategies of behavior under conditions of uncertainty, which is not only a rational process implemented by cognitive mechanisms but also an emotional process including people’s attitudes toward a situation. A set of extreme professions includes service of managers in the penitentiary service, which is associated with emotionally intense social activity and involves a constant presence of pronounced negative stressors. Studying the problem of self-regulation related to the interaction of managers with the socium of extreme nature focuses on answering the key question: What psychological and situational factors contribute to a sufficient level of self-regulation for successful activities under stress conditions? To analyze the system of self-regulation among managers in the penitentiary service we conducted a research using 6 standardized psychodiagnostic technique: Behaviour Self-Regulation Style (V. I. Morosanova, E. M. Konoz); Burnout Assessment, adapted by A. A. Rukavishnikov; Personal Aggressiveness and Propensity to Conflicts (E. P. Ilyin and P. A. Kovalev); Rapid Evaluation of Management Potential (N. P. Fetiskin, V. V. Kozlov, G. M. Manuylov); Evaluation of Communicative and Organizational Aptitudes (V. V. Sinyavsky and B. A. Fedorishin); Orientation Styles of Professional Communication (N. P. Fetiskin, V. V. Kozlov, G. M. Manuylov). The principal assumption in this research was that the structure of individual features of self-regulation (a self-regulation style) and its levels was determined by one’s personal characteristics and professional-environmental factors. The study objectives were: to identify the relationship between the level of self-regulation, overall mental state, and management potential in managers involved in extreme activity (working in the penitentiary service); to reveal psychological factors for optimization of managerial competencies under extreme conditions of professional activity; and to identify main difficulties and competence deficiencies for subsequent corrective and psychotherapeutic interventions. The research conducted enabled us: to study in details the peculiarities of self-regulation, overall mental state, and management potential among managers in the penitentiary system; and to determine which system components require intentional development in order to mitigate deficiencies and to increase the effectiveness of managers. Key words: self-regulation; manager; professional competence; extreme profession; penitentiary service.
