A study to find the effect of stress on gender and their demographic variables among nursing students

The study was conducted with the aim to assess the association of stress among nursing students and their demographic variables.Stress arises when there is increasing demand from external factors and is commonly found in nursing students due to number of factors like; academic stress, new environmental stress etc. Quantitative research approach with Quasi Experimental, Non-randomized control group design [Pre-test –Post-test Control group design] was used Total enumerate sampling technique was used to collect data from the 40 subjects who fulfilled the inclusion criteria and were assigned to control group (n=20) and experimental group (n=20). Findings of the present study revealed that there was statistically significant association of level of stress score in the control and the experimental group with the age, total monthly income of the family, and residence of the study subjects with (p=0.008),(p=0.027), and (p=0.000) respectively, while as no association was found between pre-interventional level of stress scores in the control and the experimental group with other demographic variables like gender (p=0.113), and type of family (p=0.429) at 0.05 level of significance.The results revealed that there was significant association between the age, total monthly income of family and residence of study subjects with pre-interventional level of stress scores of control and experimental group. Whereas no significant association was found between demographic variables i.e. gender and type of family with pre-interventional level of stress scores of control and experimental group.

This research aims to analyze the effect of the application of ombre technique combined with cat eyes on the slanted eyes shape correction in night makeup that is assessed based on indicator of the impression of the length of the eye, the impression of the width of the eye and folds of the eyelids. This research is a quantitative research with quasi experimental method with Non equevalent control group design. The object in this study were three samples with slanted eyes characteristics. Sampling using purposive sampling technique. Based on the data analysis, it was found that: a) The control group without using scote tape and fake eyelashes showed less optimal results, b) The experimental group using scote tape and false eyelashes showed very maximum results, c)The hypothesis that reads "there is a significant influence on the application of the Ombre technique combined with cat eyes on the results of slanted eyes correction for night makeup" was accepted at 95% significance level because the price of t count> t table (7,721> 1,895).

Health counseling about contraception is essential to provide more knowledge about how to use contraception and improve the attitude and behavior of the family toward the Family Planning Program. This study aimed to determine the effect of counseling on the intrauterine device (IUD) knowledge and attitudes. This research was conducted in Bojong Menteng village, Tunjung Teja district, Serang regency, in February–July 2019. This study used the true experimental design method to look for the treatment effect on others in controlled conditions using pretest-posttest control group design and a quantitative research approach. In this study, the experimental and the control group are given a pretest to find out the initial conditions to see whether there are differences between the experimental group and the control group. Samples used random sampling techniques where 40 people were divided into two groups who have not used the IUD and have two children and more. The study employed paired t test and unpaired t test to analyze the data. The results showed that the average knowledge of the experiment group increased to 72, and the average knowledge of the control group increased to 70.2. In addition, the average attitude of the experiment group increased to 82.35. The difference between the two groups was only seen in wearing, where the experimental group showed positive behavior towards using the IUD. The conclusion is that counseling through leaflets, information education counseling kit, and direct explanation have positive responses.EFEK PENYULUHAN KESEHATAN MENGENAI IUD TERHADAP PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP PADA PASANGAN DI KABUPATEN SERANGPenyuluhan kesehatan tentang kontrasepsi penting dilakukan untuk memberikan lebih banyak pengetahuan tentang cara penggunaan kontrasepsi serta meningkatkan sikap dan perilaku keluarga terhadap Program Keluarga Berencana. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh penyuluhan tentang alat kontrasepsi dalam rahim (AKDR) terhadap pengetahuan dan sikap. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Bojong Menteng, Kecamatan Tunjung Teja, Kabupaten Serang pada Februari–Juli 2019. Metode yang digunakan true experimental design dengan menggunakan pretest-posttest control group design dan pendekatan kuantitatif untuk mencari pengaruh perlakuan terhadap yang lain dalam kondisi yang terkendalikan. Dalam penelitian ini kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol diberi pretest untuk mengetahui keadaan awal adakah perbedaan antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Sampel menggunakan teknik random sampling berjumlah 40 orang dibagi dalam dua kelompok yang belum menggunakan AKDR dan mempunyai dua anak dan lebih. Data dianalisis dengan uji t berpasangan dan uji t tidak berpasangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rerata pengetahuan kelompok eksperimen meningkat menjadi 72, sedangkan rerata pengetahuan kelompok kontrol meningkat menjadi 70,2. Selain itu, rerata sikap kelompok eksperimen meningkat menjadi 82,35. Perbedaan kedua kelompok tersebut hanya terlihat pada perilaku memakai saja bahwa kelompok eksperimen menunjukkan perilaku positif terhadap pemakaian AKDR. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa penyuluhan melalui leaflet, kit konseling pendidikan informasi, dan penjelasan langsung memiliki respons positif.

Triggered by the importance of self-regulation, then this research was conducted in order to test the effectiveness of group guidance with self-instruction technique in order to enhance self-regulation of the students. Self-regulation is considered as the As card of human personality as it is assumed to be able to strenghten and increase the ability of a person to face the demand of live as well as act as a guide of behaviours of the person himself. In addition, lack of self-regulation will also cause wide range of problems specifically for the students as it may affect the academic achivement of the students themselves. Quantitative approach with quasy-experimental design was used in this research. Meanwhile, the research method used was Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The selection of the sample of the study was by using the purposive sampling technique, the total samples taken were 69 students, 39 students were placed in experimental group and other 30 students were in control group. The study found that in general the profile of the students’ self-regulation was on the moderate category, and empirically the group guidance with self-instruction technique was proven to be able to enhance students’ self-regulation.

The purpose of this study was to see the effect of the application of literacy based thematic teaching materials with a contextual approach to student learning outcomes. The method used in this study is a type of quantitative research. The research design used in this study was Quasi Experimental Design with the form of Nonequivalent Control Group Design. In the design of this study researchers used one experimental group with a control group that began with the pretest in each group. The results of this study found that the use of thematic teaching materials had a significant effect on student learning outcomes. Contextual based thematic teaching materials with a literacy approach can be used as supporting teaching materials in addition to the main teaching material.

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to determine the increase translate Arabic-Indonesia  santri experimental group (the group that followed the learning by using tarjamah maqtha’ adaby) with a control group students (groups that follow the learning without the use of tarjamah maqtha’ adaby). This study was conducted from Desember to January 2018. The research is a quantitative research, the experimental method design using pretest-postest control group design. The population in this study were all students off class 3 Wustho in the Pondok Pesantren Al-Mabrur banjarnegara as many as 25 students. The data collection techniques performed by using observation, interview, documentation, and test. While the assesment instrument made by validity and reability testing. Data of final analysis result using gain test and t test. Result of analysis for experiment class obtained value 0,388 with medium criterion. While in the control class obtained value 0,308 with medium criteria.  It shows  an increase in the experimental class by using Tarjamah Maqtha’ Adaby technique. And t test with 5% T_ (count) = 2,807 and df = 23 obtained t_tabel = 2,069 for T_ (count) > t_tabel. Keywords: Technique, Tarjamah Maqtha’ Adaby, Translate Arabic-Indonesia

This study aims to determine the effect of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model in the ability of storytelling and cognitive.The used approach research is quantitative research with experimental research model, Where researchers provide treatment in the form of learning by using CTL And make observations in the learning activities of children in the classroom and make measurements before and after giving treatment. The research was conducted using the experimental model design or Quasi Experimental design, which this design has a control group but can not function fully to control the outside variables that affect the implementation of the experiment.  This study used the Nonequivalent Control Group Design, which the experimental group and the control group were not randomly selected. Based on the results of the analysis it can be concluded there is a significant increase on the ability to tell stories using CTL approach of 9.18> 7.82. As for the concept of numbers there is also a significant increase of 18,0909> 13.2273.

This research aims to determine the effect of problem-based learning model on student’s mathematical logical thinking abilities and the amount of it. To achieve the goals, this research used post-test only control group design. This research was held in class XI-IPA of SMAN 1 Sekotong and consist of 60 students which divided into two classes. By considering the post-test only control group design which requires a control group and the experimental group, used saturated sampling technique that took the whole population as the sample. The members of the population were all students of class XI-IPA of SMAN 1 Sekotong which divided into two classes XI-IPA 1 and XI-IPA 2. The instruments were used to measure the student’s logical thinking ability consist of four description. The measurement of the logical thinking ability was measured after the implementation of problem-based learning for four times. The level of compliance to the learning model was measured by observation of student and teacher activity sheets. The results of data analysis using t-test showed that problem-based learning have a significant influence on the mathematical logical thinking ability. Those results were showed by the increasing of mathematical logical thinking ability in each meeting. The analysis using the effect-size gave the result of the d value of 1,60 which means the application of problem-based learning have a high influence to the student’s mathematical logical thinking ability.

Introduction: Stress is a state of physical and psychological strain which imposes demands for adjustments upon the individual. It has been reported that student nurses are affected with the stressors in academic, clinical, financial, due to parental expectations, competition for grades, and career choices. OBJECTIVES 1. To assess the level of stress among 1st year B.Sc nursing students. 2. To fine out association with the level of stress with their socio demographic variables of 1st year B.Sc nursing students. Methodology: A quantitative research approach, descriptive research design was adopted for the study. A sample of 60 students 1st year B.Sc nursing were selected by purposive sampling technique. Modified student stress scale was used to assess the level of stress. The data was analyzed by using the descriptive and inferential statistics i.e. frequency and percentage, mean, standard deviation,and chi-square. Major findings of the study: 14(23%) students had mild stress, 40(67%) students had moderate stress, 6 (10%) students had severe stress. Association between the level of stress and socio demographic variables, there is a statistically significant association with gender and no significant association with other socio demographic variables such as such type of family, father’s education, mother’s education, father’s occupation, mother’s occupation, family income per month, type of residence, distance from residence. Conclusion : The findings of study suggest that 1st year B.Sc nursing students have moderate level of stress which has no significant association with majority of socio demographic variables.

The background of the problem in this study is the basketball club activity, Mranggen Selection Basketball, although in this study it is not directed to see the difference in a skill, but in plain view it is clear that there is a difference in the level of mastering the basic technique of shooting basketball. There are those who are good, moderate, and there are those who have not mastered shooting techniques optimally. As seen when shooting, the child was not maximal. Because there were problems when the students were shooting for the jump shoot, the child's accuracy level had not yet reached its peak. The research method used is quantitative research using true experimental method in the form of pretest-posttest control group design with two kinds of treatments. The population in this study were children who participated in the basketball club in Mranggen Selection Basketball. The sample in this study is the total population sampled for research with a total of 20 respondents. The sampling technique in this study used purposive sampling. The results of the study showed that the shooting exercise jumped on the basketball club participants. After giving push up and squat jump treatment, there was an increase in the shooting result, which was 5.30 where previously it was only 3.10. Through jump shoot practice, players are able to regulate the power or strength of the ball push properly so that the accuracy in shooting is more targeted. The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant effect of training with a jump shoot on shooting skills, there is a significant effect of training with a bank shoot on shooting skills. Key words: Jump Shoot, Bank Shoot, Shooting Latar belakang masalah pada penelitian ini yaitu pada kegiatan klub bola basket, Mranggen Selection Basketball walaupun dalam penelitian ini tidak diarahkan untuk melihat perbedaan suatu keterampilan tetapi secara kasat mata jelas terlihat adanya perbedaan tingkat dalam menguasai teknik dasar shooting bola basket. Ada yang sudah bagus,sedang, dan ada yang belum menguasai teknik shooting  secara optimal. Seperti terlihat ketika melakukan shooting, anak kurang maksimal, Karena ada masalah pada saat siswa shooting untuk jump shoot tingkat akurasinya anak masih belum mencapai puncaknya. Metode penelitian ini yang digunakan yaitu penelitian kuantitatif yang menggunakan metode true eksperimental dalam bentuk pretest-posttest control group design dengan dua macam perlakuan. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah anak mengikuti klub bola basket di Mranggen Selection Basketball. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah jumlah keseluruhan populasi dijadikan sampel untuk penelitian dengan jumlah 20 responden. Teknik sampling pada penelitian ini menggunakan purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan latihan Jump shoot  hasil shooting pada peserta klub mranggen basketball. Setelah di beri perlakuan / Treatment push up dan squat jump terdapat peningkatan hasil shooting adalah 5,30 dimana sebelumnya hanya 3,10. Melalui latihan jump shoot  pemain mampu mengatur tenaga atau kekuatan dorongan bola dengan baik sehingga akurasi dalam melakukan shooting lebih terarah. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah ada pengaruh signifikan latihan dengan jump shoot terhadap kemampuan shooting, ada pengaruh signifikan latihan dengan bank shoot terhadap kemampuan shooting.   Kata kunci : Jump Shoot, Bank Shoot , Shooting

The purpose of this research is to know Influence of Learning through ABC Run Training to ability of sprint. This research uses quasy experimental research method with Pretest - Posttest Control Group Design Design. The population of this research is students, sample determination is done by cluster random sampling technique, then got two class which used as control group and experiment group. The instrument used is through direct observation based on the criteria of the basic engineering assessment which has been provided. After the processing and data analysis, the final test result showed that the control group did not experience significant change, while the experimental group experienced significant change of test result. Based on the results of hypothesis testing it can be concluded that learning through exercise ABC Run has a significant influence compared to learning without through ABC Run training on the sprint capabilities.
