THE EFFECT OF GINGER RHIZOMES (Curcuma xanthorriza Roxb.) TOWARDS THE NUMBER OF OVARIAN FOLLICLES OF FEMALE MICE (Mus musculus) EXPOSED TO MONOSODIUM GLUTAMAT (MSG)

<p><em>Monosodium Glutamat activates an axis ablation in arcuate nucleus hypothalamus which happens to possibly initiate malfunctions in Hipothalamic Pituitary Adrenal axis. Yet, it is known that hypothalamus produces Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone which is able to stimulate the secretion of Gonadotropin Follicle Stimulating Hormon and Luteinizing Hormone from the anterior pituitary gland. These two hormones, however, are essentials for the development of gonad and during the cycles of oogenesis. Hence, any malfunctions resided in the human’s hypothalamus can possibly put endocrine gland into troubles, such as reproduction hormones which affect the workings of gonad. Therefore, the extract of Temulawak is promoted to be the attempt to resolve the issue for its antioxidant properties. Temulawak extract contains antioxidant, properties for as much as 87.01 ppm, according to Rosidi research’s result, analyzing the Temulawak’s potentials. The amount of antioxidant found Temulawak extract is categorized as active and applicable as natural antioxidant source. However, this research adopts true experimental post-test only control group design. It includes 5 (five) groups of female mice as which are K1 (CMC), K2 (CMC+MSG), P1 (MSG+0.4 mg Temulawak extract), P2 (MSG+0.8 MG Temulawak extract), P3 (MSG+1.2 mg Temulawak extract). In addition, the mice’s ovaries are removed to be subsequently tested using Hematoxillin-Eosin and the ovaries’ follicles quantity is observed and counted. The data is analyzed using One Way ANOVA. The research finally comes with a result showing that there are not any significant differences discovered from the ovaries’ follicles quantity from the five tested groups (p&gt;0.05). Objective: Excessive use of MSG in everyday life can cause infertility to men. Exposure to MSG can cause cells to experience oxidative stress which subsequently triggers the generation of free radicals. Free radicals can be resisted with antioxidants. Material & Methods: This research was a laboratory experimental test with a post-test only control group design using male mice as the experimental object. The statistical test used the One Way ANOVA test. Results: In this research, 5 male mice were assigned into 4 groups and 1 control group. Using the One Way ANOVA test, it was found that there were significant differences in ≥ 2 treatment groups in the motility group of spermatozoa with active movement (p < 0.001) and the motility group of spermatozoa with weak movement (p = 0.036). The two groups showed significant differences. The Post hoc LSD test in the motility group with active movement showed significant differences between the control group with MSG treatment (p < 0.001) and the treatment group given Moringa leaves extract of 600 mg/kgW (p < 0.001) and 1200 mg/kgW (p < 0.001). Conclusion: Moringa leaves extract can effect the improvement of the motility of spermatozoa exposed to monosodium glutamate at a given dose of 300 mg/kgW and 600 mg/kgW.

<p class="Default">Penyakit kardiovaskular merupakan penyebab kematian nomor satu di dunia. Gaya hidup masyarakat terutama dalam mengkonsumsi diet yang tidak sehat dapat meningkatkan kadar LDL yang dapat menyebabkan  penyakit kardiovaskular. Rumput laut merah (<em>Kappaphycus alvarezii</em>)<em> </em>yang banyak dibudidayakan di Indonesia mengandung flavonoid dan triterpenoid yang diduga dapat menurunkan kadar LDL. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak rumput laut merah (<em>Kappaphycus alvarezii</em>) <em> </em>terhadap kadar LDL pada tikus putih (<em>Rattus norvegicus</em>) jantan galur Wistar yang diberi diet tinggi lemak. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental murni laboratorik dengan rancangan penelitian <em>Post Test Control Group Design. </em>Sampel yang digunakan adalah 24 ekor tikus putih (<em>Rattus norvegicus</em>) jantan galur Wistar yang dibagi ke dalam tiga kelompok: kelompok yang diberi diet standar selama 28 hari (K1), kelompok yang diberi diet tinggi lemak selama 28 hari (K2), dan kelompok yang diberi diet tinggi lemak selama 28 hari dan pada hari ke-15 sampai hari ke-28 diberi ekstrak rumput laut merah (<em>Kappaphycus alvarezii</em>) dengan dosis 140mg/200grBB/hari (K3). Hasil analisis statistik <em>One Way Anova </em>menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kadar LDL yang signifikan antara ketiga kelompok pada penelitian ini (p&lt;0,001). Kadar LDL pada K2 (=16,00±3,29) meningkat secara bermakna dibandingkan dengan K1 (=10,62±1,77). Sedangkan kadar LDL pada K3 (=6,88±2,42) menurun secara bermakna dibandingkan dengan K2. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak rumput laut merah (<em>Kappaphycus alvarezii</em>) berpengaruh terhadap kadar LDL darah pada tikus putih (<em>Rattus norvegicus</em>) jantan galur Wistar yang diberi diet tinggi lemak.</p><p><strong>Kata kunci</strong> : diet tinggi lemak, LDL, <em>Kappaphycus alvarezii</em></p>

Objective: This study was to determine OPG and RANKL expression after hydroxyapatite (HA) scaffold from crab shells (Portunus pelagicus) application in tooth socket of Cavia cobaya. Methods: This study was a post-test only control group design. Twenty four Cavia cobaya was divided into 4 groups. The lower left incisor was extracted and given a combination of HA and gelatin scaffold. Experimental animals were sacrificed on the 7th and 14th day. The amount of OPG and RANKL expression was calculated under a light microscope at 1000x magnification. The statistical analysis was done by One Way ANOVA Test and Tukey HSD. Results: Compared to other groups, the lowest and the highest level of OPG and RANKL were in P14 group. Conclusion: HA scaffold from crab shells (Portunus pelagicus) can increase OPG expression and decrease RANKL expression in the process of regenerating alveolar bone after tooth extraction.

Salah satu upaya untuk mengurangi kasus DBD adalah dengan pengendalian vektor DBD dengan larvisida. Temephos merupakan salah satu insektisida yang telah digunakan lebih dari 30 tahun dan berfungsi mengendalikan larva vektor. Penggunaan temephos yang tidak sesuai aturan dapat menyebabkan penurunan kerentanan pada vektor DBD.  Tujuan penelitian ini  adalah untuk  menilai  status  kerentanan larva Aedes aegypti di tiga kecamatan di Kota Padang. Penelitian ini menggunakan post  test  only  with  control  group design. Telur diambil dan dipelihara di laboratorium hingga mencapai larva instar III/IV. Uji kerentanan untuk temephos dilakukan berdasarkan standar WHO. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada Kecamatan Kuranji, kematian larva pada konsentrasi 0,005 mg/L sebesar 10%, 0,01 mg/L sebesar 45%, 0,02 mg/L sebesar 86%, dan pada konsentrasi 0,03 mg/L sebesar 100%. Pada Kecamatan Koto Tangah, kematian larva pada konsentrasi 0,005 mg/L sebesar 24%, 0,01 mg/L sebesar 48%, 0,02 mg/L sebesar 99%, dan pada konsentrasi 0,03 mg/L sebesar 100%. Pada Kecamatan Padang Timur pada konsentrasi 0,005 mg/L didapatkan kematian larva sebesar 12%, pada 0,01 mg/L sebesar 43%, pada 0,02 mg/L sebesar 99%, dan pada 0,03 mg/L sebesar 100%. Hasil uji One way-Anova adalah bermakna dengan nilai p<0,05 pada ketiga kecamatan dan LC99 sedikit diatas 0,02 mg/L. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah status kerentanan Aedes aegypti terhadap temephos di tiga kecamatan berkisar antara rentan dan toleran, belum mencapai resisten sehingga temephos masih dapat digunakan dalam pengendalian vektor DBD.

Aedes spp mosquito is the primary vector  or the main transmitter of dengue fever. it’s existence cause public health disturbing. Many research are being done to find ways of controlling mosquitoes, one of them by using a mosquito trap attractants. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the addition of attractants to modified mosquito trap to the Aedes aegypti mosquitoes control. The study design using analytical methods with a "post-test only control group design". The number of mosquitoes that are used at each observation cage was 30, with 9 times  repetition.  One way ANOVA used to analized the data then followed by LSD test. Results modifications mosquito trap attractants addition of palm sugar solution mixed with yeast bread is more effective (ρ = 0.000) of the yeast mixed tape.

This study aimed to determine the effects of red fruit (Pandanus conoideus Lam) oil on MDA levels and spermatozoa quality in mice (Mus musculus) exposed to MSG. The quality includes motility, viability, concentration, and morphology of spermatozoa. This experimental study used randomized post-test only control group design. The subjects of this study were 25 mice (Mus musculus), divided into 5 groups (5 mice per group). K- group received distilled water for 35 days. K+ group received 4 mg/g BW MSG for 21 days. P1, P2, and P3 treatment groups received 4 mg/g BW MSG for 21 days and 0.02; 0.04; 0.08 ml/g BW red fruit oil, respectively, from day 22 to 35. The results showed that mean spermatozoa morphology in K-, K+, P1, P2, P3 groups were as follows: 0.86; 0.56; 0.67; 0.61; and 0.87 (%). The spermatozoa concentrations were sequentially as follows: 21; 10; 15; 32,8,19 (107 cells/ml). The spermatozoa's vitalities were as follows: 0,64; 0,14; 0,24; P2: 0.36; 0.68 (%). MDA levels were respectively: 0.29; 0.60; 0.35; 0.23; and 0.19 (nm). As a conclusion, testicular MDA levels in mice exposed to MSG and given with red fruit oil were lower than those in mice exposed to MSG without receiving red fruit oil. The quality of spermatozoa in mice exposed to MSG and receiving red fruit oil was higher than that of mice exposed to MSG without being given with red fruit oil.

Masa nifas adalah hal sangat penting untuk diperhatikan guna untuk menurunkan angka kematian ibu dan bayi di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk Mengetahui Pengaruh Senam Nifas Terhadap Penurunan Tinggi Fundus Uteri Dan Lochea Pada Ibu Pasca Bersalin Yang Mendapatkan Inisiasi Menyusu Dini Dan Mobilisasi Dini Di Praktek Bidan Mandiri Kota Depok Tahun 2019. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif yang menggunakan desain penelitian Quasy Exsperimental dengan pendekatan post test only control group design. Populasi yang diambil yaitu 65 ibu pasca bersalin. Sampel diambil dengan metode consecutive sampling besar sampel ditentukan dengan menggunakan rumus Federer setiap variabel bebas terdiri atas 3 kelompok dan setiap kelompok sebanyak 9 sampel sehingga jumlah total sampel 27 ibu pasca bersalin. Pengumpulan data berupa data primer dan uji yang digunakan yaitu uji One Way Anova. Dapat dilihat dari nilai signifikan uji One Way Anova pada penurunan tinggi fundus uteri hari pertama sampai hari kesepuluh dengan nilai signifikan yaitu p-value < 0,05 yang artinya H0 ditolak atau ada perbedaan secara signifikan dan dilihat. Hasil post hoc test tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan pada kelompok inisiasi menyusu dini, inisiasi menyusu dini dan mobilisasi dini dan kelompok inisiasi menyusu dini, mobilisasi dini dan senam nifas terhadap penurunan tinggi fundus uteri.

Pendidikan di sekolah membuat remaja dapat mengembangkan keterampilan sesuai dengan minat dan kemampuannya. Pendidikan tersebut hanya mengutamakan aspek fisik dan kognitif sehingga perlu disadari bahwa terdapat aspek psikososial yang hendaknya ditumbuhkan dalam proses pembelajaran yaitu self esteem. Self esteem adalah evaluasi yang dilakukan individu mengenai seberapa besar kepercayaan individu terhadap kemampuan, keberartian, kesuksesan dan keberhargaan, serta memainkan peran penting dalam memprediksi penyesuaian terhadap masa depan. Perkembangan self esteem pada remaja tidak terlepas dari lingkungan sosialnya, mulai dari orang tua, teman sebaya dan masyarakat sekitar serta guru di sekolah yang seringkali memberikan label pada remaja tersebut (Herlina, 2007). Pemberian label akan memunculkan stereotip, separation dan diskriminasi sehingga menjadi sebuah stigma. Crocker (2002) menyatakan stigma memiliki peranan terhadap self esteem. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen yang menggunakan desain kuasi eksperimen nonequivalent control group design. Peneliti menyebarkan skala self esteem pre-test dan skala self esteem  post-test pada kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol yang terdiri dari 44 item, teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan sampel jenuh. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah remaja perempuan yang mengikuti ektrakurikuler tari Bali di SMAN 2 Denpasar, sebanyak 35 orang. Seluruh subjek dibagi menjadi tiga kelompok yang terdiri dari kelompok eksperimen 1, eksperimen 2 dan kelompok kontrol. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan one way anova. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan probabilitas 0,003 (p)<0,05. Hal ini berarti ada pengaruh stigma terhadap self esteem remaja perempuan yang mengikuti ektrakurikuler tari Bali di SMAN 2 Denpasar. Stigma positif maupun stigma negatif berpengaruh negatif terhadap self esteem artinya baik stigma positif maupun stigma negatif membuat self esteem menurun pada remaja perempuan yang mengikuti ektrakurikuler tari Bali di SMAN 2 Denpasar. Berdasarkan hal tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa stigma memberikan pengaruh terhadap menurunnya self esteem remaja perempuan yang mengikuti ektrakurikuler tari Bali di SMAN 2 Denpasar.   Kata Kunci : Stigma, Self Esteem, Eksperimen, Remaja Perempuan

Abstrak: Minyak cengkeh berguna sebagai antibakteri alami. Minyak esensial dari cengkeh mempunyai fungsi anestetik dan antimikrobial. Zat yang terkandung dalam cengkeh yang bernama eugenol dapat membunuh bakteri termasuk bakteri yang resisten terhadap antibiotika, salah satunya adalah bakteri Streptococcus mutans. Bakteri ini merupakan mikroorganisme penyebab utama terjadinya karies. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui efek antibakteri ekstrak cengkeh terhadap bakteri Streptococcus mutans secara in vitro. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental menggunakan post test only control group design. Penelitian ini menggunakan bahan coba ekstrak cengkeh dengan konsentrasi 40%, 60%, dan 80%, Ciprofloxacin, aquades dengan pengulangan sebanyak lima kali. Data dikumpulkan dan dianalisis dengan one-way ANOVA dan post-hoc uji LSD ( = 0,05). Berdasarkan hasil uji statistik penelitian uji efek antibakteri ekstrak cengkeh terhadap bakteri streptococcus mutans secara in vitro, dapat disimpulkaan bahwa ekstrak cengkeh memiliki efek antibakteri dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Streptococcus mutans secara in vitro. Hasil uji lanjut post-hoc uji LSD menunjukan daya hambat ekstrak cengkeh 40%, 60%, 80%, lebih kecil (p<0,05) dalam menghambat Streptococcus mutans secara in vitro dibandingkan Ciprofloxacin. Substances contained in clove called eugenol can kill bacteria including antibiotic resistant bacteria, one of which is the bacteria Streptococcus mutans. This bacteria is a major cause for caries. The purpose of this study was to mengetahui clove extrack antibacterial effects againts Streptococcus mutans bacteria in vitro. This study is an experimental study using a post test only control group design. This research try using clove extract with a concentration of 40%, 60%, and 80%, Ciprofloxacin, aquades repetition five times. Data collected and analyzed by one-way ANOVA and post-hoc LSD test (α = 0.05). Based on the results of the statistical test to test the effects of anti-bacterial research clove extracts against Streptococcus mutans bacteria in vitro, can disimpulkaan that clove extracts have antibacterial effects in inhibiting the growth of Streptococcus mutans bacteria in vitro.further test result post-hoc LSD test shoved its inhibitory clove extract 40%, 60%, 80% smaller (p<0,05)in hibiting Streptococcus mutans in vitro compared Ciprofloxacin.
