Student’s perspective is an essential factor in evaluating lecturers and has an impact on the efficacy of the instructional environment. The purpose of this study was to know EFL  students’ perception on effective lecturer. The study employed mixed method research. By implementing convenience sampling technique, 100 students in one state university in Palembang, South Sumatera, Indonesia were involved as participants in this research. The questionnaire and interview were used to collect the data and the descriptive analysis in the form of percentages was used to analyze the data. The result of questionnaire revealed that instrument which contained 42 items with seven response categories on rapport (26,2%), delivery (40,5%), fairness (11,9%), knowledge and credibility (7,2%), and organization and preparation (14,3%) were perceived very good by the students. It was supported by the result of interview that students were perceived very good to all aspects of effective lecturer, but there were some lecturers who were not. Finally, it was believed that this study could be useful and beneficial to the lecturers as a yardstick to understand themselves better and students’ needs in learning process.

The study aims to identify the job satisfaction and favorable outcome on teachers’ work performance as the noblest profession in terms of appreciation and recognition of work, relationships with colleagues, relationships with superiors, learning career development, promotion, wages, salaries, benefits, and interest in the job. Mixed method research design is employed in the study which focuses on both quantitative and qualitative combined research approaches in identifying the data collection, viewpoints, analysis, techniques, and inferences for the purpose of broad in-depth corroboration and understanding. Purposive sampling is employed and utilized in the study and is also known as subjective, selective, and judgmental sampling. The study comprised thirty (30) respondents only. Results show that most of the respondents like their job and enjoy their teaching profession and favorable outcome on teachers’ work performance because it is their oath to mold and to shape the learning process of students. This resulted in job satisfaction among them and reveals teaching as the noblest profession and show that respondents don't feel their efforts are rewarded, though they enjoy working with their colleagues and co-teachers, respondents like their superiors because they are competent in their work, and there is a limited chance of promotion due to many requirements. Likewise, the respondents show that the benefits they received are good in the organization. However, it shows that there are many rules and procedures that make it difficult among the respondents where sometimes the rules and procedures are not clear among the respondents.    Findings show that there is a significant correlation between job satisfaction and favorable outcome on teachers’ work performance as the noblest profession as observed by the respondents.

This research aimed for: describing factor that cause of the durating of student completing the thesis in Economic Faculty on State University of Padang. The type of this research is descriptive cuantitative. Population of this researh is the student of Economic Faculty on State university of Padang generatin 2010-2013 where they are complete their thesis. Data collection’s technique with questionarie which use proportional random sampling technique. Sampel for this research is 81 student. Data analysis using descriptive analysis, and exploratory analysis factor.The result from this reseach identify cause the length of the student completing their thesis in Economic Faculty on State University of Padang, and  analysis factors being caused is psycological factors, campus environtment factors, family factors, interaction with friend factors, and  attention factors. The dominant factor of this research is psycological factors with variabels effective and efficient guidance, less discipline on guidance, more inquired, attention, guidance schedule, interested, motivation, and readiness. The dominant factor make student long to completing their thesis is quidance schedule. Abstract : This research  aims to analyze (1) Effect of product brands on consumer perceptions of HNI-HPAI herbal toothpaste products in Padang City, (2) Effect of product quality on consumer perceptions of HNI-HPAI herbal toothpaste products in Padang City, (3) Effect of product packaging on consumer perceptions of HNI-HPAI herbal toothpaste products in Padang City. This type of research is descriptive associative. The sampling technique is convenience sampling with a total sample of 100 people in the city of Padang who use Herbal HNI-HPAI toothpaste in the city of Padang. Data analysis techniques used descriptive analysis and multiple regression analysis using the Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) program. The results showed that (1) the product brand had a positive and significant effect on consumers 'perceptions of HNI-HPAI herbal toothpaste products in Padang City, (2) product quality had a positive and significant effect on consumers' perceptions of HNI-HPAI herbal toothpaste products in the City Padang, (3) product packaging has a positive and significant effect on consumers' perceptions of HNI-HPAI herbal toothpaste products in Padang City. Keywords: consumer perception, product attributes, brand, quality, packaging

The present study sought to scrutinize undergraduate EFL students’ learning autonomy in a state university in Indonesia. This study employed a triangulation study of mixed-method design by distributing questionnaires and conducting interviews to get quantitative and qualitative data. The questionnaire was distributed to 40 second year participants enrolled in listening, speaking, reading, and writing for academic purposes classes, whereas 15 participants were selected for the interview Descriptive statistics and thematic analysis were used to analyse the data collected from the questionnaire and the interview. Findings revealed that the level of students’ learner autonomy was classified as moderate level of autonomy. This indicated that Indonesian undergraduate students were considered somewhat autonomous learners. In addition, the Indonesian undergraduate students defined learner autonomy as independent learning with or without the teacher’s assistance, students responsible for their own learning, and learner autonomy was the student’s self-awareness and self-initiated to learn outside the classroom to find ways of learning and collaborate with others. The study recommended that teachers should consistently develop learner autonomy in their teaching practice.


The study critically analyses how the local people in Ga West municipality perceive local participation and socio-cultural factors that influence local participation. The study used the mixed method design. The lottery method of the simple random sampling technique coupled with Neuman and Neuman’s (2006) recommendation on random convenience sampling were used to sample and collect data from 187 respondents. The study revealed that local participation provides the local people employment avenues. It was revealed that developmental projects brought to their communities do not allow the local people to be involved at the planning and implementation phases. The study further revealed that women were of the opinion that projects brought to them were not feminine enough and did not build their capacity. Education, social cohesion, peace and stability were among some of the sociocultural factors that influence participation. The study again recommended that every community member should participate, regardless of their gender, ethnic group or socio-cultural differences.

ABSTRAKParadigma pengelolaan hidup Atur dan Awasi (ADA) merupakan sistem pengelolaan hidup yang banyak diberlakukan di negara-negara berkembang termasuk Indonesia. Implementasi sistem  ADA tersebut sangat dominan dalam pelaksanaan SVLK. Sebagai salah satu pusat industri furnitur, Kabupaten Jepara menjadi daerah yang merasakan dampak langsung dari penerapan kebijakan SVLK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi peranan SVLK dalam “menuntun” industri furniture di Jepara untuk melakukan pengelolaan lingkungan seperti dalam UKL UPL/DPLH yang telah dimilikinya. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode survei melalui pendekatan analisis deskriptif. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 37 perusahaan yang diperoleh dengan menggunakan teknik convenience sampling atau sering juga disebut teknik Insidental. Tahapan penelitian meliputi wawancara dan penyebaran kuisioner serta review laporan pengelolaan dan pemantauan lingkungan untuk dikaji dan dievaluasi. Hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa paradigma ADA yang mengendalikan SVLK belum mampu berperan maksimal dalam mempengaruhi industri furnitur untuk mengeimplementasikan UKL UPL-nyaKata kunci: ADA, SVLK,UKL UPL, industri furnitur.  ABSTRACTParadigm life management Organize and Supervise (ADA) is a management system that is a lot of life imposed on developing countries including Indonesia. Implementation of the ADA system is very dominant in the implementation of the SVLK. As a center for the furniture industry, Jepara district into areas that feel the direct impact of policy implementation SVLK. This study aimed to evaluate the role of SVLK in the "lead" in Jepara furniture industry for management of environment as the UKL UPL / DPLH he had. Research conducted by survey method through descriptive analysis approach. Samples are 37 companies that obtained by using a convenience sampling technique sometimes called Incidental techniques. Stages of research includes interviews and questionnaires and review management reports and environmental monitoring to be studied and evaluated. The Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of Indonesia has introduced several national and international indexers of scientific works. This policy becomes a guideline for lecturers and researchers in choosing the reputable publications. This study aimed to describe the understanding level of Indonesian lecturers related to indexing databases, i.e. SINTA, DOAJ, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar. This research used descriptive design and survey method. The populations in this study were Indonesian lecturers and researchers. The primary data were obtained from a questionnaire filled by 316 lecturers and researchers from 33 Provinces in Indonesia recruited with convenience sampling technique on October-November 2017. The data analysis was performed using frequency distribution tables, cross tabulation and descriptive analysis. The results of this study showed that the understanding of Indonesian lecturers and researchers regarding publications in indexing databases SINTA, DOAJ, Scopus, Web of Science and Google Scholar is that, on average, 66,5% have known about SINTA, DOAJ, Scopus, Web of Science and Google Scholar. However, based on empirical frequency 76% of them have never published with journals or proceedings indexed in Scopus.

Despite being competent in the English language, pre-service teachers struggle a lot when it comes to public speaking. Their ability to deliver and speak competently is hindered by speaking anxiety. The purpose of this study is to determine the causes of speaking anxiety among pre-service teachers and identify how pre-service teachers cope up with speaking anxiety. This study was administered to 7 pre-service teachers using a convenience sampling technique from a reputable public state university in Southern Philippines. The findings showed that speaking anxiety among pre-service teachers is caused by the fear of committing mistakes, having high expectations from the audience, nervousness, and lack of preparation. Additionally, the techniques used by pre-service teachers to cope up with speaking anxiety include preparing an outline, practicing before the actual speech, and boosting one’s self-confidence. Research revealed that speaking anxiety can be eased by employing techniques such as exposure to speaking engagements, preparation, and believing in oneself.

The current advancement of video-blogs (vlogs) in YouTube channel among students of generation z has challenged teachers to make use of its potential for students’ speaking enhancement. The present research aimed at elaborating the implementation of educational vlogs as well as lecturers’ and students’ perceptions in response to the use and the creation of educational vlogs to enhance their speaking proficiency and reduce their speaking hesitancy. The research piloted to university students who attended speaking for beginner course in Lamongan. This is mixed-method research employed 27 students who were purposefully selected as the sample based on their speaking proficiency level (good, average and less than average). The instruments obtained in data collection were notes of observation, students speaking scores, questionnaires, and interview guidance that were analyzed descriptively. The results of the study indicated that integrating vlogs to speaking classroom has positive feedback from both lecturers and students. Therefore, it is suggested to make use of the vlogs toward another classroom in different circumstances and skills.   Keywords: Technology integration, vlogs, speaking for beginner, speaking skill

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan aktivitas peserta didik setelah mengikuti proses pembelajaran dengan scientific approach. Metode penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif analitik dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Objek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik sekolah dasar yang menjadi sasaran implementasi Kurikulum 2013 yang ada di lingkungan Dinas Pendidikan Kota Sukabumi. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan menggunakan teknik sampling purposive. Waktu penelitian dilakukan pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2017/2018 (Januari 2018 s/d Juli 2018). Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan antara lain: wawancara dan observasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas belajar peserta didik dalam kegiatan mengamati (observing) mencapai 98,44%, menanya (questioning) mencapai 87,50%, mengumpulkan informasi/eksperimen (experimenting) mencapai 59,62%, mengasosiasikan/mengolah informasi (associating) mencapai 87,50%, dan mengkomunikasikan (communicating) mencapai 62,50%. Secara rata-rata keseluruhan aktivitas peserta didik dalam mengikuti proses pembelajaran di sekolah dasar dengan scientific approach tercapai 76,60% dengan kategori Baik. Oleh karena itu, aktivitas peserta didik harus lebih dikembangkan lagi dalam setiap tahapan scientific approach selama proses pembelajaran. Analysis of Student Activities in Learning Based on Scientific Approach in Primary School as Implementation 21st Century Skills Abstract The objective of this study is to explain the mapping of students activities after following the learning process with the scientific approach. The method of this study was descriptive analytic research methods with a qualitative approach. The object of this study was elementary school students who were the target of the 2013 curriculum implementation in the Sukabumi City Education Office. The sampling technique using purposive sampling technique. The time of the research was conducted in the even semester of 2017/2018 school year (January 2018 until July 2018). The data collection techniques used include: interviews and observations. The data analysis techniques using descriptive analysis techniques The results of this study showed that students' learning activities in observing activities reached 98.44%, questioning reached 87.50%, experimenting reached 59.62%, associating reached 87.50%, and communicating reached 62.50%. On average, the overall students activities in following the learning process in elementary schools with the scientific approach reached 76.60% with the Good category. Thus students activities must be further developed in each scientific approach during the learning process.
