Code mixing is a state of language use by speakers by mixing two (or more) languages in one speech without any cause for the mixture of languages. One of these codes mixes in the communication process of Thai University students at Jember when using Indonesian. Code interfering events occur when used as communication tools and adaptation tools, interact daily and in the learning process. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method using a sociolinguistic approach. The data in this study are Thai student speeches when using Indonesian. The results showed that mixed code was found when Thai students used Indonesian. From the results of the study found three mixed codes: 1) mixed word code, 2) mixed code form phrases, and mixed code form clauses. The code interfering factors include: 1) regional sense factors, 2) financial factors to explain and interpret, 3) factors in the absence of concepts or terms in Indonesian, and 4) factors of limitations in mastering Indonesian.

Sosiolinguistik memberikan pengetahuan tentang code switching (campur kode). Analisis teks novel untuk memahami penggunaan campur kode penutur dapat dilaksanakan untuk pengembangan ilmu sosiologi bahasa. Metode deskriptif kualitatif dalam menganalisis temuan dan mengklasifikasikan pencampuran kode dari Novel Andre Herata Sang Pemimpi. Analisis data berfokus pada kalimat dan paragraf yang menunjukkan penggunaan pencampuran kode di dalamnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada satu jenis pencampuran kode yang ditemukan dalam novel Sang Pemimpi yaitu pencampuran kode luar (bahasa Indonesia dan Inggris) yang kemunculannya ada dalam bentuk kata, frasa, dan penyisipan klausa. Penggunaan dan jenis-jenis pencampuran kode yang ada dalam novel Sang Pemimpi karya Andrea Hirata meyangkut pencampuran kode; pada pencampuran berbagai unit linguistik, seperti morfem, kata-kata, pengubah, frasa, klausa dan kalimat, terutama yang berasal dari dua sistem tata bahasa yang berpartisipasi dalam sebuah kalimat. Dapat disimpulkan narator menggunakan pencampuran kode dari Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Melayu, dan pencampuran kode luar dari Bahasa Inggris; punchbag, sprinter, fan, session, speaker, shock, slide dan Bahasa Arab. Abstract. Sociolinguistics gave knowledge of the switching codes. Text analysis of novels for understanding the interdiction of interpreting codes can be performed for the development of language sociology. The qualitative descriptive method of analyzing the find and classifying the code mixing of the novel Andre herata Sang pemimpi. Data analysis focuses on sentences and paragraphs that indicate the use of a code mixing in them. Studies have shown that one type of mixing code found in the Sang pemimpi novel is that it includes a mixture of outside codes (Indonesian and English) that appears in the form of words, phrases, and insertion of klausa. The use and kinds of coded blending in the book of Sang pemimpi Andrea hirata passes the mixing of codes; In the mixing of various linguistic units, such as morpheme, words, modifiers, phrases, clauses and sentences, especially those that come from the two grammatical systems that participate in a sentence. It could be inferred that the narrator used a code mixing from Indonesian, Malay, and a proprietary blend of English; punchbag, sprinter, fan, session, speaker, shock, slide dan Arabic.

The study entitled "Mixed Language Usage Code In This Show Talkshow on Net Tv". There are three problems analyzed in this study, namely the types of code mix, mix language code language and the syntactic categories, and the factors that cause mixed code. The purpose of this study is to describe the types and mixed-code factors contained in the It Talkshow show on Net Tv. To achieve that goal used several methods and techniques. First, the process of collecting data using the method refer, which is assisted with techniques libat libat ably and technique record. Second, the process of data analysis used qualitative descriptive method and the method of agih, which is assisted by techniques of lesap. Third, the presentation of data analysis result is used informal method. The population in this study was 120 videos that aired from January to June 2016 downloaded from the youtube site. Sampling was done by quota sampling with 30 video samples. This research uses the theory developed by Fishman (1971), Jendra (2007), Chaer and Agustin (2010), and Chaer (2014). Based on the analysis that has been done in this show Talkshow on Net Tv, obtained results (1) types of mixed codes found, ie mixed into the code comes from Sundanese, Java, Batak, Betawi, and Bali. The mixed code comes from English and Arabic, and mixed mixed code comes from Sundanese and English; (2) mixed code based on the linguistic level found in the form of clause level, the phrase level is divided into the endocentric phrase and the exocentric phrase, the word level is divided into two, ie the word and the word back, and the syntactic categories found in the form of noun category, verb category, category adjectives, and pronoun categories; and (3) the factors behind the code mix are influenced by participants' speech factor, language factor, and factor of purpose of conversation.


Indonesians, in general, are bilinguals. This is because Indonesians have both mother tongue and second language which is used nationally. A person who can speak two languages or more in both formal and informal is called a bilingual. Even though each language has its respective roles, if it is used in one speech or writing it will cause codemixing. Code mixing is the use of two or more languages in one speech. In this study, the researcher analyzed the Mindy Cake & Cookies recipe book by Mindy Mot. The researcher chose Mindy Cake & Cookies recipe book by Mindy Mot because this book is very popular among teenagers, foodies and various circles. In 2019 the Mindy Mot recipe became one of the trending topics on Instagram and YouTube. This recipe book uses Indonesian and a foreign language which causes code-mixing. This study aims to understand and analyze the forms of code-mixing, the types of code-mixing, and the factors causing codemixing in the Mindy Cake & Cookies recipe book by Mindy Mot. The data collection technique in this research was a literature study. The method used in the mixed code research in Mindy Cake & Cookies recipe book by Mindy Mot is a qualitative descriptive method. The object of research in this study is the Mindy Cake & Cookies recipe book by Mindy Mot. The results of the analysis reveal that there are some forms of code-mixing in the Mindy Cake and Cookies by Mindy Mot, such as the form of words and phrases. The code-mixing form also comes in the form of words. There are 15 words out of 26 words which are considered as code-mixing. They are baking, chiffon, muffin, cake, mixer, spatula, stainless, fresh, frosting, meringue, filling, raspberry, whisk, crumble, freezer. There are also found 10 phrases out of 17 phrases that are included in the code-mixing. Those are baking powder, baking soda, overmix, buttercream, whipping cream, buttercream baileys, baileys buttercream, cake emulsifier, cream cheese, brown sugar. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan karakteristik kebahasaan teks pidato mahasiswa yang berperan menjadi guru BP, dan (2) mendeskripsikan implementasi karakteristik kebahasaan teks pidato mahasiswa yang berperan menjadi guru BP sebagai bahan ajar bahasa Indonesia di SMP. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian berupa kata, frasa, klausa, dan kalimat yang terdapat dalam pidato mahasiswa yang berperan menjadi guru BP. Sumber data penelitian berupa wacana pidato mahasiswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik simak dan catat. Untuk menganalisis data penelitian ini digunakan teknik padan referensial dan padan fonetis artikulatoris, teknik perluasan dalam metode agih, dan teknik baca markah. Adapun hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa karakteristik kebahasaan dalam teks pidato mahasiswa yang berperan menjadi guru BP  terdapat enam bidang, yakni (1) bidang ragam non-formal, (2) bidang sosiolinguistik yang meliputi campur kode dan alih kode, (3) bidang sintaksis terdiri dari pleonasme, konjungsi, dan kata mubadzir, (4) bidang fonologi meliputi kesalahan epentesis dan kesalahan pengucapan bunyi atau pelafalan bunyi, (5) bidang morfologi yang meliputi proses afiksasi prefiks me-, kata keterangan jumlah dan derajat, kata keterangan tempat, keterangan akibat (keterangan konsekuatif), kata depan pada dipakai jika diikuti kata keterangan waktu, dan penggunaan kata depan kepada, dan repetisi, dan (6) bidang pragmatik yaitu interjeksi. Kata kunci: Karakteristik kebahasaan, pidato, guru BP   Abstract This study aims (1) to describe the linguistic characteristics​​in the speeches of students who act as BP teachers and (2) to describethe implementation the linguistic characteristics ​​in the speeches of students who act as BP teachers. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive method. The research data are in the form of words, phrases, clauses, and sentences contained in student speeches which play the role of becoming BP teachers. The source of research data is in the form of student speech discourse. The data collection technique uses the technique to see and note. To analyze this research data used referential equivalent techniques and articulatory phonetics, extension techniques in the method of religion, and marking reading techniques. The results of this study found that the linguistic form ​​in the speeches of students who act as BP teachers. This research method uses a qualitative ​​in the speech of students acting as BP teachers had six fields, namely (1) non-formal variety fields, (2) sociolinguistic fields which included code mixing and code switching, (3) syntactic fields consisting of pleonasms, conjunctions, and the word mubadzir, (4) the field of phonology includes episodes of errors and pronunciation of sounds or pronunciation of sounds, (5) the field of morphology which includes the affixation process of the prefix, adverbs of number and degrees, place adverbs, statements of consequences (consequential information), the preposition used if followed by the adverb of time, and the use of the preposition for, and repetition, and (6) the field of pragmatics, namely interjection. Keberagaman etnik dalam komunitas mahasiswa memunculkan suatu nuansa dan fenomena yang khas dan berbeda dalam penggunaan bahasa. Masyarakat multietnik cenderung menggunakan bahasa yang berbeda-beda ketika berkomunikasi dengan etnik satu dan etnik lainnya. Keberagaman etnik dan bahasa tersebut memungkinkan seseorang menjadi mampu menggunakan lebih dari satu bahasa. Komunikasi saat ini dapat dilakukan melalui berbagai media, salah satunya adalah media sosial. Banyak sekali media sosial yang dapat digunakan untuk berkomunikasi, seperti facebook, twitter, bbm (blackberry messenger), line, dan whatsapp. Penelitian dengan ancangan sosiolinguistik dan metode kualitatif deskriptif ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan bahasa yang digunakan dalam komunitas mahasiswa multietnik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahasa yang digunakan oleh mahasiswa multietnik di Kota Semarang dalam media sosial adalah bahasa Indonesia, bahasa daerah, dan bahasa asing. Kemultietnikan mahasiswa dengan bahasa yang berbeda mengakibatkan penggunaan campur kode. Faktor penyebab penggunaan bahasa tertentu antarmahasiswa multietnik adalah stimulus atau inisiasi yang disampaikan oleh penutur pertama. Selain itu, faktor latar atau situasi bahasa tertentu digunakan, faktor penutur dan petutur yang melakukan percakapan, maksud dan tujuan yang diinginkan oleh penutur dan petutur, bentuk pesan dan isi pesan yang dipilih oleh penutur dan petutur turut memengaruhi bahasa yang digunakan. ABSTRACT The ethnical variety in the university student community has brought a unique phenomena and different nuance in their language use. The students in the multiethnic community tend to use various languages to communicate to each other. Those various ethnics and languages would encourage the member of the community to use more than one language. In the other hand, people could communicate nowadays through all sorts of media. One of them is social media. Some of the social medias such as facebook, tweeter, bbm (blackberry messenger), line, and whatsapp could be used as mean of communication. This research uses approach in sociolinguistics and qualitative-descriptive method. The aim of this research is describing the language use in students’ multiethnic community. The result shows that the language used in multiethnic students in Semarang in social media is Indonesian, local, and foreign languages. The students in different language multiethnic community used the code-mixing. The factor that causes a certain language use in multiethnic students is the stimulus or the initiation uttered by the fi rst speaker. The other factor such as setting or situation where a certain language used, speaker, and hearer that are involved in the conversation, form and contain of the message chosen by the speaker and the hearer, have also infl uence the language used.

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengungkap fenomena campur kode di dalam novel Antologi Rasa karya Ika Natassa dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dan pendekatan sosiolinguistik. Kerangka konsep penelitian ini dilandasi oleh referensi teoretis yang mengaitkan sosiolinguistik, bilingualisme-plurilingualisme, dan alih kode-campur kode. Dari data yang dikumpulkan, terdapat wujud campur kode berupa (1) penyisipan kata yang kemudian dibagi atas kelas kata, yaitu nomina, adjektiva, konjungsi, dan interjeksi, (2) penyisipan frasa berupa frasa nominal, frasa preposisional, dan frasa adjektival, (3) penyisipan baster, (4) penyisipan klausa, dan (5) penyisipan idiom. Penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa para tokoh dan narator di dalam novel Antologi Rasa, yaitu: Keara, Harris, dan Ruly, ditampilkan sebagai sosok-sosok muda metropolitan bilingual yang secara aktif dan konsisten menggunakan kombinasi bahasa Indonesia dan bahasa Inggris untuk berkomunikasi. Para tokoh, terutama Keara dan Harris, tampak sangat leluasa mempraktikkan campur kode, baik saat berbicara dengan tokoh-tokoh lain, maupun ketika bertutur di dalam hati. Penggunaan campur kode dapat dianggap menunjang kategorisasi dan labelisasi novel Antologi Rasa sebagai sebuah karya metropolitan-populer (metropop).This research was conducted to uncover the phenomenon of code mixing in the Ika Natassa’s novel of Antologi Rasa by using descriptive qualitative method and sociolinguistic approach. The frame of research concept  is based on theoretical references that relate sociolinguistics, bilingualism-plurilingualism, with code-mixed-code switching. From the data collected, there are mixed codes in the form of (1) word insertion which is then divided into word classes, namely nouns, adjectives, conjunctions, and interjections, (2) insertion of phrases in nominal phrases, prepositional phrases, and adjunctival phrases, (3) baster insertion, (4) clause insertion, and (5) idiom insertion. The research also shows that the characters and narrators in the novel of Antologi Rasa, namely: Keara, Harris, and Ruly, are shown as bilingual metropolitan young figures who actively and consistently use a combination of Indonesian and English to communicate. The characters, especially Keara and Harris, seem very free to practice code mixing, both when talking to other characters and speaking inwardly. The use of mixed code can be considered to support the categorization and labeling of the Antologi Rasa novel as a popular metropolitan work.

This study aims to find out the usage of code mixing in the novel Bidadari Bermata Bening by Habiburrahman El Shirazy. It also aims to find out the types of code mixing. This study is supported by Bhatia and Richie’ theory(2006:337) about code mixing. It is stated that code mixing refers to the mixing of various linguistic units (morphemes, words, modifiers, phrases, clauses and sentences) primarily from two participating grammatical system within a sentence Besides that, this study is also based Suwito’s theory (1983, 76). He classified code mixing into two, they are: inner code mixing and outer code mixing. This study is conducted by using a qualitative descriptive method in analyzing finding and classifying mixed and mixed codes. In this analysis, the data used are the sentences and paragraphs which show the usage of code mixing in it. The result of the study shows that the form of insertion and also the types of code mixing that appear in the novel. There are two types of code mixing found in the novel. First, Inner code mixing (Indonesian and Javanese), its occurences in the form of word, phrase, repetition and clause insertion. Second, Outer code mixing (Indonesian and Arabic), its occurences in the form of word, phrase, and clause insertion.

This research examines and discovers the variation and formation of slang in the street food court (angkringan) of the Perpek community, Ponorogo Regency, which is indicated by a variant of the slang language. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. The research data is in the form of words from languages that contain slang forms and are spoken by sellers and buyers. Data collection uses observation techniques supported by note-taking techniques. The data analysis technique used is the equivalent method and the method of religion. The findings of this research are four processes of the formation of slang language in terms of the formation of phonological structures, namely: (1) reversing the overall arrangement of letters, for example "mahal" to "laham", (2) giving an insert at the beginning and at the end both vowels and consonants, for example "kopi" becomes "ngikop", (3) exchanges consonants and replaces one or two letters, for example "sedikit" becomes "sikit", and (4) words are shortened or cut without changing their meanings, for example "mama cantik" to be "macan". The results of the research findings indicate the formation of new slang languages that are different from the original languages, both from Indonesian and regional languages (Javanese). Penelitian ini mengkaji dan menemukan variasi dan pembentukan bahasa slang di angkringan komunitas Perpek, Kabupaten Ponorogo, yang terindikasi ditemuakan varian bahasa slang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode diskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian berupa kata dari bahasa yang mengandung bentuk bahasa slang dan dituturkan oleh penjual dan pembeli. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi yang didukung dengan teknik simak-libat-catat. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah metode padan dan metode agih. Dari penelitian ini diperoleh temuan berupa empat proses pembentukan variasi bahasa slang dari segi pembentukan struktur fonologis, yaitu: (1) membalikkan susunan huruf secara keseluruhan, misal "mahal" menjadi "laham", (2) memberikan sisipan di awal dan di akhir kata, baik vokal maupun konsonan, misal "kopi" menjadi "ngikop", (3) menukar konsonan dan mengganti satu atau dua huruf,  misal "sedikit" menjadi "sikit", dan (4) kata dipendekkan atau dipotong tanpa mengubah maknanya, misal "mama cantik" menjadi "macan". Hasil temuan penelitian menunjukkan adanya pembentukan bahasa slang baru yang berbeda dari bahasa aslinya, baik dari bahasa Indonesia maupun bahasa daerah (bahasa Jawa).

examined is the types and level code-mixing. In types and level code-mixing, researchers used the Suwito theory. As for the types of code-mixing, including inner code-mixing and outer code-mixing, while in code-mixing level consists of six words: word-level code-mixing, phrase-level code-mixing, clause level code, baster level code-mixing, repetition level code-mixing, and code-mixing level idioms. This research design used is qualitative research. Qualitative research, among others, is descriptive. The data is collected more in the form of words or pictures rather than numbers. The qualitative descriptive method is a method that researchers can use to analyze by doing fact-finding with the right interpretation. Qualitative research is closely associated with the context. Based on the results of the analysis from London to Bali, the data was obtained for types of code-mixing consisting of inner code-mixing 115 data, outer code-mixing 46 data, and level code-mixing consisting of word-level code-mixing 145 data, phrase level code-mixing 10 data, code-mixing clause level 4 Data, baster level code-mixing 1 data, repetition level code-mixing 3 data, idiom level code-mixing 0 data.

This study aims to describe the form of code switching and code mixing used in Indonesian language learning at SMP N 01 Limpung, Batang Regency. This research is included in qualitative descriptive. Data processing that examines code switching and code mixing is thus the data in this study in the form of oral data, namely, speech code switching and code mixing that exist in Indonesian language learning. The data sources came from Indonesian language students and teachers at SMP N 01 Limpung. Data collection techniques in this study used the observation and note technique. The first step, the researcher listens to the use of language in Indonesian language learning. Furthermore, the researcher recorded the speech data including code switching and code mixing. The results showed that the speech used when learning Indonesian at SMP N 01 Limpung included: (1) code switching from Indonesian to Javanese and (2) code switching from Javanese to Indonesian. The form of code mixing that occurs in Indonesian language learning is in the form of: (1) the form of code mixing in the form of word insertion, (2) code mixing in the form of phrases
