Indonesians, in general, are bilinguals. This is because Indonesians have both mother tongue and second language which is used nationally. A person who can speak two languages or more in both formal and informal is called a bilingual. Even though each language has its respective roles, if it is used in one speech or writing it will cause codemixing. Code mixing is the use of two or more languages in one speech. In this study, the researcher analyzed the Mindy Cake & Cookies recipe book by Mindy Mot. The researcher chose Mindy Cake & Cookies recipe book by Mindy Mot because this book is very popular among teenagers, foodies and various circles. In 2019 the Mindy Mot recipe became one of the trending topics on Instagram and YouTube. This recipe book uses Indonesian and a foreign language which causes code-mixing. This study aims to understand and analyze the forms of code-mixing, the types of code-mixing, and the factors causing codemixing in the Mindy Cake & Cookies recipe book by Mindy Mot. The data collection technique in this research was a literature study. The method used in the mixed code research in Mindy Cake & Cookies recipe book by Mindy Mot is a qualitative descriptive method. The object of research in this study is the Mindy Cake & Cookies recipe book by Mindy Mot. The results of the analysis reveal that there are some forms of code-mixing in the Mindy Cake and Cookies by Mindy Mot, such as the form of words and phrases. The code-mixing form also comes in the form of words. There are 15 words out of 26 words which are considered as code-mixing. They are baking, chiffon, muffin, cake, mixer, spatula, stainless, fresh, frosting, meringue, filling, raspberry, whisk, crumble, freezer. There are also found 10 phrases out of 17 phrases that are included in the code-mixing. Those are baking powder, baking soda, overmix, buttercream, whipping cream, buttercream baileys, baileys buttercream, cake emulsifier, cream cheese, brown sugar. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan karakteristik kebahasaan teks pidato mahasiswa yang berperan menjadi guru BP, dan (2) mendeskripsikan implementasi karakteristik kebahasaan teks pidato mahasiswa yang berperan menjadi guru BP sebagai bahan ajar bahasa Indonesia di SMP. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian berupa kata, frasa, klausa, dan kalimat yang terdapat dalam pidato mahasiswa yang berperan menjadi guru BP. Sumber data penelitian berupa wacana pidato mahasiswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik simak dan catat. Untuk menganalisis data penelitian ini digunakan teknik padan referensial dan padan fonetis artikulatoris, teknik perluasan dalam metode agih, dan teknik baca markah. Adapun hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa karakteristik kebahasaan dalam teks pidato mahasiswa yang berperan menjadi guru BP  terdapat enam bidang, yakni (1) bidang ragam non-formal, (2) bidang sosiolinguistik yang meliputi campur kode dan alih kode, (3) bidang sintaksis terdiri dari pleonasme, konjungsi, dan kata mubadzir, (4) bidang fonologi meliputi kesalahan epentesis dan kesalahan pengucapan bunyi atau pelafalan bunyi, (5) bidang morfologi yang meliputi proses afiksasi prefiks me-, kata keterangan jumlah dan derajat, kata keterangan tempat, keterangan akibat (keterangan konsekuatif), kata depan pada dipakai jika diikuti kata keterangan waktu, dan penggunaan kata depan kepada, dan repetisi, dan (6) bidang pragmatik yaitu interjeksi. Kata kunci: Karakteristik kebahasaan, pidato, guru BP   Abstract This study aims (1) to describe the linguistic characteristics​​in the speeches of students who act as BP teachers and (2) to describethe implementation the linguistic characteristics ​​in the speeches of students who act as BP teachers. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive method. The research data are in the form of words, phrases, clauses, and sentences contained in student speeches which play the role of becoming BP teachers. The source of research data is in the form of student speech discourse. The data collection technique uses the technique to see and note. To analyze this research data used referential equivalent techniques and articulatory phonetics, extension techniques in the method of religion, and marking reading techniques. The results of this study found that the linguistic form ​​in the speeches of students who act as BP teachers. This research method uses a qualitative ​​in the speech of students acting as BP teachers had six fields, namely (1) non-formal variety fields, (2) sociolinguistic fields which included code mixing and code switching, (3) syntactic fields consisting of pleonasms, conjunctions, and the word mubadzir, (4) the field of phonology includes episodes of errors and pronunciation of sounds or pronunciation of sounds, (5) the field of morphology which includes the affixation process of the prefix, adverbs of number and degrees, place adverbs, statements of consequences (consequential information), the preposition used if followed by the adverb of time, and the use of the preposition for, and repetition, and (6) the field of pragmatics, namely interjection. This paper contains about Ongkara Pranava, the concept of ritual within the self. Ongkara Pranava is a sacred mantra that many Hindus chant in the archipelago, and even in the world. Another name for Ongkara is Pranava, which means "born of prana". Prana is another name for breath, more precisely, breath is the grossest aspect of prana, every breath that enters and leaves through human breathing is Ongkara. The human body is Ongkara. Breathing is an activity to cultivate the noble qualities within, to grow the Supreme consciousness and to become Consciousness itself. Accustomed to managing and practicing mindfulness through Ongkara meditation, the mantra itself can act as a map and at the same time a vehicle to run the boat of human self-awareness from the swift and complex currents of human thought, crossing the tidal waves originating from the currents of our own thoughts to improve quality. self and lead human consciousness to the Supreme consciousness. Ongkara Pranava, the concept of ritual within is studied using a qualitative descriptive method, the data collection technique used is a document study or literature study, then the data that has been collected will be analyzed descriptively qualitatively to obtain related conclusions about Ongkara Pranava, the concept of ritual within. Abstract: Unacceptable Collocations by Learners of Indonesian as a ForeignLanguage and the Implication in Language Learning. Foreign language learners’ability to collocate words that are natural and acceptable in the target language isimportant in foreign language learning; however, it is notoriously difficult forforeign language learners and sometimes makes them frustrated. This studyattempts to describe the negative transfer of English collocations into Indonesiancollocations made by learners of Indonesian as a foreign language in their writingassignments. This study employed a qualitative descriptive method. The data werecollected from 36 writing assignments by 12 learners whose mother tongue isEnglish. They were trainee teachers with experience in teaching Indonesian inAustralia. The finding shows that there are 176 unnatural Indonesian collocations,some of which are negative transfers of learners’ mother tongue. This suggests thatdirect teaching of collocations should be given special emphasis in teachingIndonesian as a foreign language.Keywords: collocation, lexical collocation, grammatical collocation, languagelearning

<p>The research aims to find out types of code-switching and code-mixing, the functions of code-switching and code-mixing in the English teaching-learning process. The method of this research is a qualitative descriptive method. The data source is English teachers’ utterances in teaching English as a foreign language, the teacher’s language of instructions. The results of the research are: 1) the students and teachers used code-switching and code-mixing in the process of communication in the classroom; 2) in code-switching, they used inter- sentential, intra- sentential, and tag switching; 3) in code-mixing, they used alternation and insertion; 4) the functions of code-switching include reiteration, message qualification, personalization, referential, and poetic; 5) the function of code-mixing is to draw students’ attention in learning. The findings imply that code-switching and code-mixing are necessary to facilitate learning.</p>

Jerome Polin Sijabat is an Indonesian YouTuber. Jerome Polin is known after starting a YouTube channel called Nihongo Mantappu, which shares his personal life in Japan. Apart from speaking Indonesian, Jerome Polin also uses other languages, such as English and Japanese. Jerome Polin's mastery of the language causes code-mixing in the video. This study describes the forms of code-mixing and the factors that cause code-mixing in videos on Jerome Polin's YouTube channel. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a sample of conversational quotations. The data collection technique used is the listening method using note-taking techniques and free-involved-talk listening techniques. The results showed that the forms of code-mixing insertion in Jerome Polin's YouTube video include elements of words, phrases, and clauses. The types of code-mixing in Jerome Polin's YouTube videos are outer code-mixing.

Code mixing is a state of language use by speakers by mixing two (or more) languages in one speech without any cause for the mixture of languages. One of these codes mixes in the communication process of Thai University students at Jember when using Indonesian. Code interfering events occur when used as communication tools and adaptation tools, interact daily and in the learning process. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method using a sociolinguistic approach. The data in this study are Thai student speeches when using Indonesian. The results showed that mixed code was found when Thai students used Indonesian. From the results of the study found three mixed codes: 1) mixed word code, 2) mixed code form phrases, and mixed code form clauses. The code interfering factors include: 1) regional sense factors, 2) financial factors to explain and interpret, 3) factors in the absence of concepts or terms in Indonesian, and 4) factors of limitations in mastering Indonesian.

This study aims to describe 1) the form of cohesion contained in the news Watching Sakinah Movies, UIN Yogyakarta Give Praise Students and 2) describing the forms of coherence contained in the news Watching Sakinah Film, Students of UIN Yogyakarta Give Praise. The subjects used in this study were news of watching Sakinah film, UIN Yogyakarta students giving praise, and the objects used were sentences containing grammatical cohesion, a form of lexical cohesion. The approach used in this study is a qualitative descriptive approach. The data in this study are sentences in the news of Watching Sakinah Movies, This student is a method of literature study. While the method of data analysis in this study is descriptive method analysis method, the method used to analyze and describe cohesion markers and analyze markers of coherence. Test The results of the study show that in the news of watching Sakinah films, UIN Yogyakarta Beri Pujian students have varied markers of cohesion and coherence in the Tebuireng Online news discourse. Cohesion markers were found to reference (3), substitution (1), ellipsis (2), conjunction (3), collocation (1), and markers of coherence found cause-effect relationships (2), relationship coherence suggestions — goals (1), coherence temporal relations (1), and coherence of causal relationships (1).

Sosiolinguistik memberikan pengetahuan tentang code switching (campur kode). Analisis teks novel untuk memahami penggunaan campur kode penutur dapat dilaksanakan untuk pengembangan ilmu sosiologi bahasa. Metode deskriptif kualitatif dalam menganalisis temuan dan mengklasifikasikan pencampuran kode dari Novel Andre Herata Sang Pemimpi. Analisis data berfokus pada kalimat dan paragraf yang menunjukkan penggunaan pencampuran kode di dalamnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada satu jenis pencampuran kode yang ditemukan dalam novel Sang Pemimpi yaitu pencampuran kode luar (bahasa Indonesia dan Inggris) yang kemunculannya ada dalam bentuk kata, frasa, dan penyisipan klausa. Penggunaan dan jenis-jenis pencampuran kode yang ada dalam novel Sang Pemimpi karya Andrea Hirata meyangkut pencampuran kode; pada pencampuran berbagai unit linguistik, seperti morfem, kata-kata, pengubah, frasa, klausa dan kalimat, terutama yang berasal dari dua sistem tata bahasa yang berpartisipasi dalam sebuah kalimat. Dapat disimpulkan narator menggunakan pencampuran kode dari Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Melayu, dan pencampuran kode luar dari Bahasa Inggris; punchbag, sprinter, fan, session, speaker, shock, slide dan Bahasa Arab. Abstract. Sociolinguistics gave knowledge of the switching codes. Text analysis of novels for understanding the interdiction of interpreting codes can be performed for the development of language sociology. The qualitative descriptive method of analyzing the find and classifying the code mixing of the novel Andre herata Sang pemimpi. Data analysis focuses on sentences and paragraphs that indicate the use of a code mixing in them. Studies have shown that one type of mixing code found in the Sang pemimpi novel is that it includes a mixture of outside codes (Indonesian and English) that appears in the form of words, phrases, and insertion of klausa. The use and kinds of coded blending in the book of Sang pemimpi Andrea hirata passes the mixing of codes; In the mixing of various linguistic units, such as morpheme, words, modifiers, phrases, clauses and sentences, especially those that come from the two grammatical systems that participate in a sentence. It could be inferred that the narrator used a code mixing from Indonesian, Malay, and a proprietary blend of English; punchbag, sprinter, fan, session, speaker, shock, slide dan Arabic.

Speaking skill becomes one of the most fundamental skills in this era; however English learners need to develop their capability to show their language skill through speaking practice. This research aims to investigate students speaking fluency level toward speaking practice. The qualitative descriptive method is used to describe data analysis. The sample of this research is single sample, English language program students at semester 5.  The video record towards speaking practice and professional feedback are became the data collection technique. The video records duration is about 10 minutes and during that presentation, researcher tried to analysis based on the vocabulary used, voice, and speech fluency. The result of the research showed that student’s speaking fluency level is still low, and it needed to treat and drill more, could be through watching a YouTube or practice among English learners.

Abstract-This study discusses Guel dance learning media created in the form of postcards. Aims to be able to direct students in identifying, appreciating, and expressing dances of the Gayo area, especially Guel dance. Theories used in the research of packaging theory according to Cahyorini and Rusfian (2011: 28), theory of learning media according to Heinich in Susilana (2016: 06), and graphic media theory according to Susilana and Riyana (2016: 14) Packaging is a theory used for graphic design, in terms of producing the product, and the image media in the form of postcards used to make Guel dance material as a learning medium. The time of the study was conducted from August to October 2017. The research site was at Sanggar Renggali Jalan Merah Mege Hakim Bale Bujang Laut Tawar, Central Aceh District. The population of several artists Gayo and all members of Sanggar Renggali because learning Guel dance is a dance learning materials in schools in Takengon and Samples are 2 people Gayo artists and 2 dancers dance Guel. Data collection techniques include observation, interview, literature study, and documentation, and then analyzed by qualitative descriptive method. Based on research that has been done Guel dance is a tradition dance Gayo community that has been used as learning materials in the schools of Middle Secondary in Central Aceh district. Guel dance which is packed in the form of postcards as a medium of learning with menggunkana first step of planning is preparing the material, determining the location, selection of dancers, and prepare the facilities and infrastructure. The second step of implementation is taking photos, editing process, then the last step is the completion of postcards and final writing.
