Abstract. We study the health and physical development indicators of gymnasts aged 7–12 years in the conditions of transition to the stage of sports specialization characterized primarily by the following changes in the content, types and amount of sports training: an increase in the share of special physical training relative to the previous stage; an increase in competitive time; the appearance of such types of training activities as training camps. Special attention is paid to the psychological and pedagogical aspect of sports training in the conditions of increasing the time of competitive activity. In addition, the issues of proportional development of the forms and functions of the body of young gymnasts within the framework of the health balance between the state of athletes and an ordinary child are considered. The data on the composition of body weight in children are presented to ensure the necessary prevention of the risk of diseases (including diseases of the cardiovascular system) in this life period. Determination of the compliance of the studied indicators with the health criteria of children of this age group on the following points: physical development; neuropsychic development (factors of individual psychological personality traits of students); resistance level; level of the functional state of the main systems of the child’s body.

The aimwas to study of anthropometric indicators to determine the level of physical development of adolescents engaged and not involved in sports.Material and methods.110 male athletes engaged in Sambo wrestling (average age 15.4±0.7) were examined. The study used methods of complex anthropometry and dynamometry. As the main indicators were estimated the length and weight of the body, indicators of the chest circumference and vital capacity of the lungs, the value of back and carpal dynamometry. Hand dynamometry was carried out on the device medical electronic dynamometer DMER-120-0.5. Back dynamometry was carried out on the device back dynamometer, DS-500.Results. In the study group, about 61 % of athletes in each age group have deviations from the weight norm in accordance with the Broca index. Despite active physical activity, about 30 % of the surveyed, in each age group, have a medium or weak physique. The tendency towards weight loss may be due to excessive exercise or insufficient nutrition and recovery.Conclusion. There is a decrease in the values of weight-growth indices, which indicate non-compliance with the basic principles (balance, adequacy) of the nutrition system, as the main part of the system of recovery of the young athlete and require a revision of approaches to the diet of Sambo athletes.

The article provides the results of determining the level of physical development of the 1th-2nd course students of design specialties of the College of Construction, Architecture and Design. The physical development of students was determined by indicators of harmony of the bodybuilding (Kettle index 2), functional state of the cardiovascular system (Ruffier index), and respiratory system (Stange test). Length and weight of the body, heart rate, breathing delay time were measured. As a result of the researches, the “average” level of the physical development is determined in the 1th-2nd course girls and “sufficient” - in boys. Thus, mass-growth indicators of students according to the calculation of Kettle 2 index, both boys and girls correspond to the assessment of 5 points, which indicates a harmonious physique of students; indicators of the functioning of the cardiovascular system (Ruffier Index) of 1st year boys and the 2nd year students make 2 points, which corresponds to the ”below average” level, and the results of the 1st year girls equal to the assessment of 3 points, “average” level; indicators of the functional state of the respiratory system (Stange test) of boys of the 1th-2nd  course correspond to the assessment of 4 points (“above the average” level), and girls of both courses - 3 points (“average” level). In the age and gender aspects, physical development indicators, in general, don’t significantly differ with the general tendency to increase results with age and the dominance of boys over such in girls. The exception is the Ruffier index, where there is an opposite trend - the results decrease with age in girls and they are higher than in boys. Thus, the results of the research indicate the feasibility of introducing the 1th-2nd course students of professional pre-high education of special physical exercises into the process of physical education to improve the functional state of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems.

Background: Determination of the identity of an unknown dead body is one of the most important medico-legal roles of forensic medicine. The present study aimed to determine the gender of the deceased body using the length of the skull sutures. Material and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in the department of forensic medicine, Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal between the periods of January 2016-June 2017. A total of 500 dead bodies were examined for this study. We utilized the discriminant function analysis to predict a relationship between the gender and the independent variables viz. skull sutures. Results: Maximum numbers of the case belonged to 20‐29 years age group and the least were in >70 age group.  The minimum age of any case was 20 years and the maximum age was 89 years, mean of age was 38.07(standard deviation 13.61) and the median age was 35. There was a total of 307 males and 193 females. In the present study, the length of the Coronal suture is the most predictive parameter out of three in determining the gender of the deceased person with a value of 0.946. A total of 66.6% of original grouped cases [263 among 307 males (85.7%) and 70 females from 193 (36.3%)] were correctly classified using discriminant function analysis score.  Conclusion:  The correct gender from the skull of the body was identified in about two-third of the cases.
