Pesantren, the Islamic boarding school, is the oldest Islamic education in Indonesia and is constantly undergoing changes from time to time. This research uses the qualitative approach. This study aims to describe the application of the heutagogy method in the growth of pesantren education. The results of this study indicate that the Al-Luqmaniyyah salaf Boarding School has already applied the heutagogy learning method, it means that pesantren education precedes the Westerners in terms of its utilization. Through the study and discussion of Kitab Kuning (yellow-colored textbooks about Islamic knowledge), students determine their systems, study materials, and problems to find a solution. Sources of learning for students are not only limited by the Kitab Kuning, but students can also have access through the internet, online books and applications with trusted sources. PSDS is responsible for managing the talents and interests of the santri (a term used in Pesantren to call an apprentice), as well as training santri skills by making films, recording, creativity, writing, making advertisements, making interesting contents on social media. LP2M Al-Luqmaniyyah with its various divisions is required to channel and facilitate what the community needs from the students as they can also learn from the community it self. Education is an important factor which cannot be segregated from the life of all human beings, both individually and collectively. Strategies employed by the teacher of PAI (Islamic education) thus have an important role in establishing students’ personality, especially with regard to their religious character. The teaching of PAI therefore must be performed gradually and continuously. Students' ability in reading Qur'an must be improved significantly. A method of habituation constitutes one that can be used to improve students' ability in reading Qur’an. The problems in this research are as follows: 1. How did a PAI teacher overcome problems and difficulties in reading Qur'an through the use of a habituation method at SMK Al Kholily Mlokorejo Puger Jember?; 2. What were inhibiting factors and what were the solutions? This study employed a qualitative approach in the form of a case study. Data were colleted by ways of observation and interviews. The respondents were students at SMK Al Kholily Mlokorejo Puger Jember. The results revealed that the difficulties in reading Qur’an can be improved through the use of a habituation method.

Pattani Province in southern Thailand is the only province with the majority of the Muslim population. Besides Pattani the majority of Thai residents (67 million people) are Buddhists. Only 10% of Thai people are Muslims, including Pattani's Muslim Malay minority. Some data suggest that the Thai government made policies that often discredited and did not accommodate the interests of Malay Muslims. This became one of the reasons for the emergence of opposition to Thai government and ethnicity. For example, must use the Thai language (thaification Program) reinforced by the prohibition of the use of Malay language and nationalization of Thai society culture through language and customs. The cultural policies relating to the use of Thai language and customs are intended to promote Thai nationalism, while they erode the identity (religion and culture) of Pattani Malay. The Malay minority resistance was led by the scholar Tuan Guru Haji Sulong Al-Fathani. He also acted as negotiator with the Thai government in order to fight for Malay Muslim aspirations. His negotiations resulted in a policy of the enactment of Malay language education as a curriculum material at Pattani National School.
