Aquaponics is a technology that combines the cultivation of vegetable production and fish farming. The aquaponics technology also to fertilization to give nutrients to the plant to support of survival. In facts, fertilization done to plants is located on land. Fertilizing the plants that live in the waters are still very rare, because the waters as a growing medium that is considered to always provide sufficient nutrients for plant growth. In this research, using biofertilizer Euchema cottonii of seaweed. The advantages of biofertilizer seaweed is to have the content of macro and micro nutrients are complete. It also contains substances hyper Grow (PGR) plant (auxin, cytokinin, gibberellin, abisat acid and ethylene).In this research to determine the effect of biofertilizer products of seaweed (E. cottonii) commercial on the growth of dumbo catfish (C. gariepinus) and pakcoy mustard (B. rapa L) on aquaponics system. The design of experiments in this research using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment used is fertilizer "AB mix®" 1% (A), without fertilizer (B) and the provision of products biofertilizer seaweed (E. cottonii) commercial 0,16% (C), 0,18% (D) and 0,20% (E). The main parameters measured were heavy growth of biomass, plant height pakcoy mustard (B. rapa L), growth SGR, length and survival rate of fish of dumbo catfish (C. gariepinus).The results showed that the dose of different commercial product biofertilizer seaweed (E. cottonii) gives a significantly different effect on the height growth of pakcoy mustard (B. rapa L) and the survival rate of dumbo catfish (C. gariepinus). The optimal dosage of commercial seaweed (E. cottonii) biofertilizer product in increasing the growth of pakcoy mustard (B. rapa L.) and African catfish (C. gariepinus) in the aquaponic system, namely treatment E at a dose of 0.20%.

Pemberian pakan kombinasi pellet dan usus ayam terhadap ikan lele dumbo (Clarias gariepinus B) dalam wadah jaringan hapa dengan rancangan acak lengkap 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan untuk  perlakuan A : 100 % pellet, B : 75 % pellet dan 25 % usus ayam, C : 50 % pellet dan 50 % usus ayam dan D : 25 % pellet dan 75 % usus ayam. Berat dan panjang rata-rata ikan awal 24 gram dan 13,8 cm. Hasil penelitian  untuk pertumbuhan dan panjang ikan lele dumbo rata-rata  per ekor untuk perlakuan A 139,23 gram dan 14,47 cm. B :  168,33 gram dan 16,27 cm, C : 159,53 gram dan 15,90 cm dan D :  168,97 gram dan 16,60 cm. Tingkat kelangsungan hidup ikan lele dumbo (Clarias gariepinus B) untuk semua perlakuan berkisar 95,33 – 97,33% dan Feed Convertion Ratio (FCR) dan Efisiensi Pakan (EP) berturut-turut yaitu 1,05 – 1,51 gram dan 66,58 – 94,98%. Keyword: Pakan Pelet dan Usus Ayam, Ikan Lele Dumbo AbstractGiving combination pellet and chicken intestine to African catfish (Clarias gariepinus B) in hapa  with a completely randomized design 4 treatments and 3 replications for treatment A  : 100% pellet, B: 75% pellet and 25% chicken intestine, C: 50% pellet and 50% chicken intestine and D: 25% pellets and 75% chicken intestines. The initial weight and length of the fish is 24 grams and 13.8 cm. The results of the study for the growth and length of individual fishes the African catfish were on average A treatment of 139.23 grams and 14.47 cm. B: 168.33 grams  and 16.27 cm, C: 159.53 grams and 15.90 cm and D: 168.97 grams and 16.60 cm. This study aimed to determine the effect of ovaprim hormone, aromatase inhibitor and pituitary on the quality of the catfish eggs (Clarias gariepinus). Experimental Design used was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments, each with three replications. Treatment A: ovaprim; treatment B: Aromatase inhibitors, treatment C: hypophysis and treatment D: Control. The results showed that the difference in treatment gave highly significant effect on fertilization and hatching eggs but no significant effect on the survival rate of larvae. Aromatase inhibitor hormone was the best because it provided highly significant effect on fertilization (92.66%), hatchability of eggs (95%), and surviva rate (81.33%) of fish larvae.   Keywords : Clarias gariepinus. The use of probiotics is certainly one of the solutions in overcoming the problem of increasing seed in fish farming. One of them is the use of probiotic king catfish, in this study tested on catfish, tilapia and goldfish. This research is an experimental study. The design used in this study was a Completely Randomized Design with 4 treatments 3 replications. Data analysis used Statistical Package for the Social Sciences version 15. The results of the analysis of the highest seed survival rate were obtained on Pangasius pangasius (95%), on Oreochromis niloticus (83,33 %), and Cyprinus carpio (80%). The treatment of Rajalele probiotics has a very significant effect (very significant) Fanalysis (23.01) > Ftable 0.01 (7.59) on the graduation of Pangasius pangasius, Oreochromis niloticus, and Cyprinus carpio. The conclusion of this study shows that the survival rate the highest in Pangasius pangasius

The objective of this research was to evaluate the supplementation of turmeric in the diet on antioxidant status and growth performance of African catfish (Clarias gariepinus) in zero water exchange condition. This study used a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 4 replications. Each treatment consisted of feed supplementation turmeric at dosage of 0; 2.5; 5 or 7.5 g kg-1 diet. One hundred catfish juvenile (5.95±0.05 g) were stocked in intermediate bulk container (IBC) tank (1×1×1 m3) and rearing in zero water exchange condition for 60 days. Catfish were fed at satiation twice a day, in the morning and evening. The results showed that an increase in antioxidant content in catfish fed with the addition of turmeric, which simultaneously also reduced the percentage of liver damage. The parameters of liver damage can be seen from several parameters i.e. pale liver, droplet fat and fat content in the addition of turmeric treatment is lower than without the addition of turmeric. However, catfish fed with the addition of turmeric did not show significant results in terms of growth performances.

<p><em>Species, temperature shock duration, fertilization temperature from different climates can cause different hatching results, so it is necessary to do research on the treatment of variations in heat shock at the same temperature, to obtain information about the hatching rate (HR) of African catfish (Clarias gariepinus). The method used is completely randomized design (3x3). The results of the egg hatching rate (HR), with variations in the heat shock at the same temperature (35⁰C), </em><em>showed the highest rate of hatching dumbo catfish eggs at heat shock one minute 233.00%, then heat shock two minutes 212.00%, and heat shock three minutes 200.00% respectively.</em><em></em></p>

Abstract Currently, African catfish is developing quite rapidly, because African catfish is one of the important commodities in the fishery. Efforts to increase the production of African catfish is to improve the quality of feed. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the use of shark waste mill on the growth rate, feed efficiency and survival rate of African catfish fishing. The research method was experimental with completely randomized design (CRD). The research consisted of five treatments and four replications. The treatments used were: (A) shark waste mill at 0% and fish mill by 50%, (B) 5% shark waste mill and 45% fish mill, (C) 10% waste shark mill and 40% fish mill, (D) 15% waste shark mill and fish mill and 35% (E) 20% shark waste mill and 30% fish mill. The main parameters measured were growth, feed efficiency and survival rate. Supporting parameters measured were water quality. Analysis of the data using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and to determine the differences between treatments tested by Duncan Multiple Range Test. The results showed that the giving of shark waste mil on ration had highly different effects on growth rate and feed eficiency of african catfish. The feeding of waste shark mill in ration had no significantly different effect on Survival Rate (SR). The best dose of shark waste mill is treatment C (10%) with growth rate (1,26%/day), feed eficiency (38,64%) and survival rate (55%).

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of immersion time on African catfish (Clarias gariepinus) larvae in natural methyl testosterone hormone on masculinization. This study was conducted in Center of Fish Culture Lamnyong, Banda Aceh. Experimental animals used in this study were 270 African catfish larvae aged 10 days. The study was designed using completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 3 replications. African catfish larvae aged 10 days in group P1, P2, and P3 were immersed in natural methyl testosterone hormone for 10 hours, 20 hours, and 30 hours, respectively. Observations were carried out until fish reach 50 days old. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance (Anova) followed by least significant difference test (LSD). Percentage of male catfish observed in P1, P2, and P3 were 64.24 %, 93.11%, dan 59.94% respectively. As a conclusion, immersion with natural methyl testosterone hormone can change the sex of catfish to be male. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Key words: african catfish, methyl testosterone natural, masculinization

This study aimed to determine the effect of the use of EM-4 probiotics (effective microorganisms-4) in feed on different stockings in increasing the survival rate and growth of African catfish. This research was conducted by the Faculty of Fisheries Laboratory of the Dharmawangsa University Medan from September to October 2019. The design used in this study was a completely randomized design, with 4 treatments 3 replications. The treatment consists of the different amount of stocking density (P1: 50 fish / 48 liters of water), (P2: 65 fish / 48 liters of water), (P3: 80 fish / 48 liters of water) and (P4: 95 fish / 48 liters of water). The observation result Data is analyzed by variance analysis (ANAVA) after meeting the requirements, Subsequently conducted a variety of error test homogenized and use a chi-squared spread with the formula Steel and Torries (2003). The results showed that the different amount of stocking density affected the growth and graduation of African catfish (Clarias gariepinus) seeds. The optimal density of stocking on the growth and graduation of live African catfish is the density of 50 fish/ 48 liters of water, with an average survival rate of 90.66%, the average growth of absolute weight  19.10 grams and average average growth length 9 cm

This study aimed to evaluate of patin seed (Pangasius hypothalamus) that is given Tubifex sp. as additional feed. The experiment design was used  completely randomized design with four treatments and four replications. The treatments studied were 100 % pellet without the addition of Tubifex sp. (A), 95 % pellet with the addition of  Tubifex sp. 5 % (B), 90 % pellet with the addition of  Tubifex sp. 10 % (C) and 85 % pellet with the addition of  Tubifex sp. 15 % (D). Patin seed stocking density was 1 individu/l with the length of  3-4 cm and weight of  0,15-0,28 g. The culture period for one cycle of fish farming was 40 days. The ANOVA test showed commercial feeding with the addition of Tubifex sp. as additional feed gave the significant effect on the specific of growth rate, length and feed conversion ratio, but did not give the significant effect on survival rate of patin seed. The best dose to increase the growth of catfish seeds is 85% commercial feeding with the addition of Tubifex sp. 15%.

The aim of this study was determine the effect of temperature shock on hatching capability of the catfish eggs and its larval survivals.The study was conducted at the Board of Freshwater Aquaculture (BBAT ) in Tatelu  Dimembe District, North Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province. Twelve tanks were set in this experiment. Two hundred (200) eggs were put in each tank with controlled temperature of 25 C, 27 C , 29 C , and 32 ºC. Each temperature was replicated 3 times. The experimental design used in data analysis was completely randomized design (CRD).  The results showed that the treatment temperature showed significant effect on  hatching of  eggs, while the difference in temperature had no effect on the survival rate of catfish larvae.   Keywords:  Temperature shock, eggs, hatching capability, survival rate,  larvae, Clarias gariepinus.
