<p>Seurukan fish (<em>Osteochilus vittatus</em>) has many advantages, besides the fish also has disadvantages which are the slow growth, so the temperature shock of triploidization technique was expected to solve the problem.   The objective of the present study was to obtain an effective temperature to increase of triploidization success of <em>seurukan</em> fish (<em>Osteochilus vittatus</em>). The experimental method and completely randomized design model were used in this study. Five levels of temperature shocks at three replicates were tasted: 4℃ (cold), 6℃ (cold), 28℃ (normal), 35℃ (heat) and 37℃ (heat). The sperms and eggs were fertilized in the plastic jar then a total 100 of fertilized eggs (zygotes) were taken randomly 3 minutes after fertilization and soaked in respective temperature for 90 seconds, and then incubated in incubation jars at the water temperature of 28-29℃. The results showed that the temperature shock gave the significant effect on the hatching and the success of triploidization success (P˂0.05), but did not give the significant effect the fertility and survival rates (P&gt;0.05). The triploid fish can be achieved using cold and heat shock, but the higher triploid fish was recorded at 37℃ was the best temperature recommended for triploidization of <em>Seurukan</em> fish.</p>

Aquaponics is a technology that combines the cultivation of vegetable production and fish farming. The aquaponics technology also to fertilization to give nutrients to the plant to support of survival. In facts, fertilization done to plants is located on land. Fertilizing the plants that live in the waters are still very rare, because the waters as a growing medium that is considered to always provide sufficient nutrients for plant growth. In this research, using biofertilizer Euchema cottonii of seaweed. The advantages of biofertilizer seaweed is to have the content of macro and micro nutrients are complete. It also contains substances hyper Grow (PGR) plant (auxin, cytokinin, gibberellin, abisat acid and ethylene). In this research to determine the effect of biofertilizer products of seaweed (E. cottonii) commercial on the growth of dumbo catfish (C. gariepinus) and pakcoy mustard (B. rapa L) on aquaponics system. The design of experiments in this research using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment used is fertilizer "AB mix®" 1% (A), without fertilizer (B) and the provision of products biofertilizer seaweed (E. cottonii) commercial 0,16% (C), 0,18% (D) and 0,20% (E). The main parameters measured were heavy growth of biomass, plant height pakcoy mustard (B. rapa L), growth SGR, length and survival rate of fish of dumbo catfish (C. gariepinus). The results showed that the dose of different commercial product biofertilizer seaweed (E. cottonii) gives a significantly different effect on the height growth of pakcoy mustard (B. rapa L) and the survival rate of dumbo catfish (C. gariepinus). The optimal dosage of commercial seaweed (E. cottonii) biofertilizer product in increasing the growth of pakcoy mustard (B. rapa L.) and African catfish (C. gariepinus) in the aquaponic system, namely treatment E at a dose of 0.20%.

BPDAS Tondano has plan to rehabilitation of coastal area reached 10,000 hectares, thus requiring the seeds very much. Nyamplung has potential as a rehabilitation plant in coastal  and can support national needs in meeting the needs of biofuel. Nurseries nyamplung in North Sulawesi needs information how to handle the weaning of plant. Research using a completely randomized design with three treatment factors, namely 1). Cutting the leaves consist of two levels ie D1 (dauan left pair) and D2 (leaf still intact); 2) Cutting seeds that stick consists of two levels ie B1 (seeds removed) and B2 (seeds still attached ); and 3) Cutting the length roots consist of three levels ie A1 (5 cm), A2 (10 cm) and A3 (15 cm). 180 seedling were taken from germination using cocopeat media. Results of variance analysis showed that the treatment applied only affect the heigth growth. The survivak rate is not affected by the treatment applied because survival rate reached 100%. The treatment leaves and seeds have a real effect, whereas the root treatment had no significant effect. The result of the highest growth is D2B2C3 ie : 5,8 cm and the lowest growth derived from D1B1C2 is only 1.43 cm.

Some research found that p rotein adequacy from snack for elementary school children are still lacked. Snacks availability at schools have an important role to fulfi ll  protein requirement  for students. The purpose of this research was to analyze the effect of  catfi sh (Clarias gariepinus) and Isolated Soy Protein (ISP) addition on    acceptance level and p rotein content of c ilok (snack). Research methods used for formula development was experimental research with completely randomized design. Repetition was performed four times on fi ve treatments (one control and four modifi cations, those are F1 was added ISP, F2 was added c atfi sh, F3 was added c atfi sh fl our, and F4 was added c atfi sh and ISP). Assessment of a  cceptance used hedonic test. Variable in this research was a  cceptance level (color, aroma, texture, and fl avor) and p rotein content. Hedonic test was performed to 71 students. The difference of a  cceptance (color, aroma, texture, and fl avor) between 5 formulas was tested used Cochran’s Q; the difference within formula then analyzed by Mc Nemar test. Hedonic test result showed that panelists preferred F0. F4 had highest p rotein level based on DKBM and laboratory analysis found  protein level (9.4 g/ 100 g) higher than recommended value. Cochran’s Q test showed signifi cant difference a  cceptance on color (p = 0.002) and taste (p = 0.047). Mc Nemar test showed the difference within formula on the color was F0 with F3, F1 with F3, and F2 with F3, while difference fl avor formula found in F0 with F3. This research concluded that F4 had the highest p rotein level but the a  cceptance was still low, it is recommended to modify F4 so that it become more acceptable but did not change the  protein content.

The effect of baker’s yeast as immunostimulant on innate immunity of carp (Cyprinus carpio L) had been investigated.  Fish was gathered from Freshwater Aquaculture Board (BBAT) Tatelu, Province of North Sulawesi.  The fish were acclimatized for a week in 15 aquariua with a density of 25 fish/aquarium. After acclimatization the fish were fed pellet supplemented with baker’s yeast as immunostimulant at 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20 g / kg of feed for four weeks as much as 5%/body weight of fish/day with the frequency of feeding twice a day at 08.00 am and 16.00 pm . This study used Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with five treatments and each treatment had three replications. Immune parameters consisting of total leucocytes and phagocytosis activity were measured in the last week. After  four weeks of feeding, the total leukocytes from the carp fed with the addition of baker’s yeast 10 g / kg of feed were significantly increased compared with the fish not being fed with the addition of bread yeast (p <0.01). Phagocytic activity of phagocyte cells from carp also increased significantly in fish fed pellet with the addition of 5 g of baker’s yeast / kg of feed (p = 0.01). In conclusion, the addition of baker’s yeast as immunostimulant in the diet at 5-10 g/kg of pellet can increase the nonspecific immune response of carp. Keywords:  baker’s yeast, carp, nonspesific immune response, total leucocytes, phagocytosis activity
