Functional food is food that is naturally or through a process that is beneficial to health. One functional food is a green bean juice packaging beverage that can reduce blood glucose levels. High fiber content, low glycemic index and flavonoids, and polyphenols in green beans (Phaseolus radiatus L) can reduce glucose levels in the blood. This study used experimental animals 7 tails. All experimental animals were given packaged mung bean juice 2 times a day for 9 days by means of a round. The mean results of an examination of blood glucose levels in white rat experimental animals before giving packaged green bean juice drinks was 85 mg dl, while the average results of an examination of blood glucose levels in experimental rats after administration of packaged green bean juice were 75 mg/dl. The results of the Paired T-test statistical test obtained p = 0,000 <α = 0.05. Packaged green bean juice can reduce blood glucose levels in animals testing white rats.

Many antioxidant compounds, flavonoids, and saponins are contained in starfruit leaves (Averrhoa carambola). The purpose of this study was to determine the antidiabetic activity of star fruit extract in mice. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 treatments, namely P1 (aquadest without alloxan) as a negative control, P2 (aquadest with alloxan) as a positive control, P3 (metformin 500 mg / kgBB), P4 (alloxan + ethanol extract of star fruit leaves. 100 mg / kgBB), P5 (alloxan + ethanol extract of star fruit leaves 150 mg / kgBB), P6 (alloxan + ethanol extract of star fruit leaves 200 mg / kgBB). The starfruit leaf extract was made using the maceration method. In order for experimental animals to become diabetic, alloxan is used at a dose of 120 mg / kgBW which is injected intramuscularly into the thigh muscles. After the experimental animals were diabetic, We were given ethanol extract of starfruit leaves according to the experimental design, starting from day 7th to day 21st. Blood glucose levels are measured with a glucometer every week. The results showed that the best decrease in blood glucose levels occurred in the first week and the second week. In the first week, the metformin treatment was able to reduce blood glucose by 88.4%, while the ethanol extract treatment of star fruit leaves at a dose of 200 mg / kg BW was able to reduce blood glucose levels by 60%. The ethanol extract of star fruit leaves has antidiabetic activity. Keywords: mice, diabetes mellitus, blood glucose, starfruit leaves.

Maintaining a lifestyle can reduce the incidence of DM (diabetes mellitus). DM occurs due to insulin disorders so that blood glucose levels increase, which can lead to various complications. The management of blood glucose levels by activating the insulin function can be done by using natural ingredients such as the Yakon (Smallanthus sonchifolius) plant. Yakon leaves contain phenol which can reduce blood glucose. The design of this study was experimental with a pre-posttest approach with control-group design, using male and healthy white rats (Rattus norvegicus). Rats were divided into 3 groups, treatment dose 1, treatment dose 2 and control. The rats were given a high carbohydrate diet during 9 weeks to make the rats hyperglycemic. In the treatment group, dose 1 was 150 mg/kg BW, dose 2 was 300 mg kg BW, and was given for 3 days. The results showed that the rats in the treatment group dose 1 had decreased in the average blood sugar level of 114.10 mg / dl (p 0.002) and dose 2 was 105.27 mg / dl (p 0.005). This showed that there was an effect of treatments on blood sugar levels. The comparison results showed that there was a significant difference between the dose 1, the dose 2 group and the control (Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.001 (α) = 0.05). There was no significant difference in the treatment group dose 1 and treatment dose 2 (Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.693, (α) = 0.05). Yakon leaves can be used alternative to lower to control blood glucose levels in rats receiving a high-carbohydrate diet

Tithonia diversifolia is a plant that has the potential to reduce blood glucose levels that is crucial in Diabetes Mellitus therapy. This study aims to determine the active compounds contained in the extract of T. diversifolia leaves decoction, the effect of decoction extract on the reduction of blood glucose, and the most effective decoction extract to reduce blood glucose levels as well. The study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with the research treatment groups, namely: Kn = normal control (normal mice and not given leaves decoction extract), Ka = STZ control (DM mice, which are normal mice induced by 65mg/Kg of STZ), Kp = treatment control (normal mice given leaf decoction extract) , P1 = DM + mice were given young leaf decoction extract, P2 = DM + mice were given a mixture of young leaf and adult leaf decoction extract, P3 = DM + mice were given adult leaf decoction extract. The leaves used for decoction were 1-6 leaves from the shoots. The analysis of T. diversifolia leaves decoction compounds is using the visible spectrophotometers for tannins, phenols and flavonoids and GC-MS for terpenoid analysis. The result found that Tithonia diversifolia leaves decoction extracts contain tannins, flavonoids and phenols, while terpenoids are not detected. The leaves decoction extracts of T. diversifolia influenced the decreases in blood glucose levels of DM mice, especially the decoction extract of adult leaves which reduced blood glucose levels to 71.16%.

Background: Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder caused by insulin resistance. Noni juice has the potential as herbal medicine which believed to reduce blood glucose levels. This study aims to determine the effect of noni juice on blood sugar levels on diabetic patients. Methods: This study used 16 respondents. They divided two groups, a control group and a treatment group. Each group consists of 8 respondents. The intervention group received 150 ml of noni juice which was given once a day for ten days. Glucose testing was carried out by the glucose-check method. The blood was taken from the respondent's fingertips capillary. The blood glucose levels between the control group and the intervention group were analyzed using independent t-test. Results: The average blood glucose level in the intervention group was 199.88 mg/dl, while the control group was 326.25 mg/dl. The test results of the mean blood glucose levels between the control group and the intervention group had a significant difference with a value of p = 0.003 (p ≤ 0.05). This indicates a significant effect between blood glucose levels in the control group and the intervention group. Conclusion: Noni can reduce blood glucose levels because it contains flavonoid. It has a hypoglycemic effect. Health workers can suggest consuming noni juice to decrease blood glucose in diabetic patients.
