The purpose of this research is to improve science process skill of class X-2 student of SMA Negeri 3 Surakarta 2010/2011 academic matter on subject matter Ecosystem and Environment by appliying Learning Cycle model. This research refers to The Classroom Action Research with subject were 34 students from class X-2 of SMA negeri 3 Surakarta 2010/2022 academic year. The sources of data consist of information from teacher and student, places and events that happened during teaching and learning process, and also some documents. The data of research is collected by using observation sheet, test, questionnaire, interview, and documents. The data is analyzed in qualitative descriptive method. The validity of data is verified through triangulation technique of data collecting method. The result of this research shows that there has been increment percentage of the questionnaire and observation result in every aspect which includes involvement, team work, and responsibility aspects. The result of this research shows that there has been increment percentage of science prosess skill aspect mastery level from 57,03% on presequence become 74,85% on first sequence and 79,89% on second sequence. If it considerate from science process skill indicator, it has been increament percentage of science process skill indicator mastery level too from 56,59% on presequence become 74,08% on first sequence, and 79,88% on the second sequence. The reflection of the first sequence shows that students having low of responsibility in achieving the learning goal, so the researcher gave further treatment in sequence II. It can be concluded from the research that Learning Cycle application can improve science process skill of class X-2 student of SMA Negeri 3 Surakarta 2010/2011 academic year.

Key Words: learning cycle model, science process skill

This research is aimed to develop biology learning materials in Junior High School for plants movement topic to increase students’ achievement and self-directed through Science Process Skill approach. This is development research refers to Kemp’s development model. The learning kit is taught in SMPN 1 Blega Bangkalan Madura for 28 students grade VIII employing science process skill approach. The research design uses One Group Pretest-Posttest and data is analyzed with the qualitative descriptive method. This research reveals that the implementation of learning kit is 83%, dominant student’s activities in 1st and 2nd learning process are observing (22% - 24%), most of the students have positive responses which are indicated by 99% of students expressing their like, the result of students’ learning mastery satisfies the classical criteria for 86%, the rate of students self-directed varies from 55,56% to 83,32%. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that the Development of Biology Learning Kit is feasible.

Keywords: Achievement, Self-directed, Science Process skill approach.

Abstract: This study aims to determine the differences in the 5-Phase Learning Cycle model and the conventional learning model of students' science process skills on thermochemical materials. This type of research is quasi-experimental. Sampling using random sampling techniques and obtained two sample classes, namely Class XI MIPA 6B3 as an experimental class and XI MIPA 6C3 as a control class at SMAN 10 Malang in the academic year 2017/2018. Collecting data using the science process skill observation instrument sheet. The results showed that there were differences in science process skills between students who were taught with the 5 Phase Learning Cycle model and conventional learning models on thermochemical materials.

The aim of this research was to determine the analysis of science process skills in textbooks of chemistry grade XI in SMA N 1 Teras, Boyolali. This research used the descriptive method. The instruments were developed based on 10 indicators of science process skills (observing, classifying, finding a conclusion, predicting, raising the question, hypothesizing, planning an experiment, manipulating materials, and equipment, Applying, and communicating). We analyzed 3 different chemistry textbooks that often used by teachers in teaching. The material analyzed in the book was solubility and solubility product concept in terms of concept explanation and student activity. The results of this research showed different science process skill criteria in 3 different chemistry textbooks. Book A appeared 50% of all aspects of science process skills, in Book B appeared 80% of all aspects of science process skills, and in Book C there was 40% of all aspects of the science process skills. The most common indicator in all books was observing (33.3%), followed by prediction (19.05%), classifying (11.90%), Applying (11.90% ), planning experiments (9.52%), manipulating materials and equipment (7.14%), finding conclusion (4.76%), communicating (2.38%). Asking the question and hypothesizing did not appear in textbooks.

The purpose of this study was to determine the causes of the low sense of nationalism of students in the UNBAJA’s PPKn courses in the second and fourth semester of 2017 - 2018 academic year and to find out the role of lecturers of PPKn courses in increasing the nationalism feeling of students in the UNBAJA’s PPKn courses in the second and fourth semester of 2017 - 2018. This study uses a descriptive method of qualitative approach with data collection techniques using test techniques, observation and interviews. Subjects of this study are lecturers of UNBAJA’s PPKn courses and students of UNBAJA’s PPKn courses in second and fourth semester of academic year 2017 - 2018. The results of this study indicate that the role of the PPKn lecturer can increase the sense of nationalism of students in the PPKn UNBAJA courses in the second and fourth semester of the 2017 - 2018 academic year, such as before the teaching and learning activities are conducted in class, the lecturer always instructed everyone to pray.
