<p>This article discusses the history of <em>pesantren </em>as an educational institution in the changing Indonesian context, and provides a snapshot on their current development and enrolment trends. It aims to provide an updated comprehension on Indonesian <em>pesantren,</em> which is an important aspect in understanding the contemporary development of Islam in Indonesia. The data presented here is based on systematic review of existing literature and policy documents, interviews with key policy makers, and observation in some<em> pesantren</em>. I argue that Indonesian <em>pesantren</em> have continued to grow over different historical periods due to their adaptability in the changing contexts. Such adaptability is seen in their adoption of modern schooling system, their incorporation of non-religious subjects into their curricula, as well as their dynamic integration into the national education system.</p>

<p class="06IsiAbstrak"> </p><p class="06IsiAbstrak">The focus of this paper is the madrasa in Indonesia and its development which is examined from the perspective of Michel Foucault regarding their authority, knowledge and discourse.<strong> </strong>The madrasa’s performance, which is still relatively low and unable to compete with public schools or pesantrens (Islamic Boarding Schools), will be examined from this perspective. This paper departs from the study of literature with a historical-sociological approach. The sources of the data come from the literature related to the history and development of madrasas. From Foucoult's perspective, the performance of the madrasa--which in its development shows a decline trend and is of relatively low quality and less competitive compared with general schools or pesantrens-- is closely related to power, knowledge and discourse factors. My argument is supported by the evidence that there is no an established “blueprint” for the supervision and development of madrasas in Indonesia, in contrast to schools or pesantrens. Likewise, the problem of interplay of madrasa policies in the integration of the national education system has put the madrasa in the midst of domination of schools and pesantrens, especially in the midst of society since the appreciation and level of community participation in the madrasa are not very encouraging. In addition, there is an opinion among the public which perceives the madrasa as the second educational institution after schools or pesantrens. This opinion is, of course, supported by empirical data, such as research from Nur Hamzah (2017) and Sukino (2017) which examined the madrasas in West Kalimantan Province, and revealed the poor quality of some madrasas in this area, which in my opinion is the "top of the iceberg" of the madrasa, especially in the outermost, interior and underdeveloped areas of Indonesia.</p>

In the article the author analyzes some aspects of the cultural and educational activity of Kremenets Gymnasium named after Ivan Steshenko referring to the materials of Kremenets regional society «Prosvita». The conducted analysis shows that the institution became the center of national life of Ukrainians in the region that contributed to the activation of the historical and ethnographic movement in Volyn. It was investigated that local lore studies were carried out on the one hand by Polish research and ethnographic societies, which used the support of the academic institutions of Poland, and on the other hand - Ukrainian local lore centers based on the cultural and educational centers of Western Ukraine, in particular on the Scientific Society of them. Shevchenko, «Prosvita», museum institutions, etc. And certain achievements of the local lore movement in Volhynia became possible to a large extent due to the active work of Prosvita in Kremenets, whose figures influenced the formation of the national consciousness of Ukrainians. On the basis of the analysis of the source base of the research, the investigator presents the facts of the opening of the Ukrainian gymnasium named after Ivan Steshenko, which began functioning on October 1, 1918, and became the focal point of the national life of Ukrainians in the region. At the request of Kremenets' Prosvita, the Ministry assigned her the name of Ivan Steshenko, an active figure of the UPR, the Minister of Education. The opening of the gymnasium was a major event in the life of the region, as it began its activity as a state and was the only Ukrainian secondary school in the whole county. Study of the Ukrainian language and history of Ukraine in the gymnasium was mandatory. The first director of this educational institution was Sergey Milyashkevich, and later in different years of activity – I. Rey, Kobrin, L. Kontsevich. Kremenets Gymnasium was famous for its pets: Ulas Samchuk, Oksana Lyaturinskaya, Cyril Kutsyuk-Kochinsky, Maria Kavun-Kreminyarivska, who became famous writers. Many students of the high school distinguished themselves in the field of Ukrainian writing, education and culture. The author has pointed out the fact that many gymnasium students have been taken an active part in the events of the 40–50's of the twentieth century. The attention has been emphasized on Mykola Medvetsky (pseudo Hrin) as the leader of the rebel formation, who belonged to the secret youth organization «Yunak», which had appeared in an educational establishment. The indisputable role of the gymnasium in forming the intellectuals of the region, which left a significant trace not only in the history of Kremenets but also throughout Ukraine, is noted. The author concludes that the Ukrainian gymnasium named after Ivan Steshenko at that time became the center of the historical and ethnographic movement in the region. In spite of the interference of the then system in scientific life, obstacles on the part of the authorities, the Ukrainian gymnasium did a lot for the national revival of the region, contributed to the establishment of national education. Materials concentrated in the rayon society "Prosvita", contribute to the understanding of its historical heritage, the formation of national consciousness.

This research describes the concept of the kuttab curriculum during the ancient time and its implementation at the lembaga pendidikan kuttab al-fatih surabaya as part of the national education system. This research is qualified as a special study approach. The data is collected using interview, observation and documents. Whereas in analyzing data it uses the concept of analysis of miles and huberman, which is data reduction, data presentation and making conclusion. This research concludes that: 1. Formerly the concept of the kuttab curriculum during the ancient time was made only to wish for allah's blessing but later developed to have a social and even material aim. Also the content of its curriculum is very simple and uses a separate curriculum pattern. 2. The concept of the kuttab curriculum which is applied at the lembaga pendidikan kuttab al-fatih surabaya contains the aim and contents of the curriculum, teaching method and the system of evaluation as well. Kuttab al-fatih educational institution surabaya also uses an informal education (pusat kegiatan belajar masyarakat/pkbm) in applying its educational program by creating an equivalence program in order to achieve the primary education diploma known as the package a diploma as part of the national education which is available in indonesia

The purpose of the study is to reproduce the historical reconstruction of the educational process in the author schools of Ukraine during the eighteenth – early twenty-first centuries to determine their role in the development of the national education system. The article considers the author secondary educational establishments that play a special part at the present stage of development of a new Ukrainian school, as their creators and pedagogical teams seek and indicate the ways of innovative educational development, define new goals, develop the content of education, substantiate and implement alternative educational technologies. The author school is presented as an experimental educational institution, which activity is based on a pedagogical concept developed by a single teacher or author team. It is noted that the author school as a unique educational system has gone a long way in its historical development. The first author school was named “school without walls” headed by H. Skovoroda, whose main goal was to teach people the science of happy life. The peculiarities of the educational process in the most famous author schools in Ukraine of the twentieth century have been analyzed. The experience of the author schools of the period of independent Ukraine was studied and summarized.

Pesantren as an Islamic educational institution which was first established in Indonesia has strong tradition root in society. At the beginning, it was established by the muslim community independently, it was nonformal and taught only religious material. However, it is now continuing to renew the pattern of formal education in the form of schools or madrasa with the standard government curriculum. The existence of pesantren is no longer considered as second class of educational institution, and not qualified, but as a prestigious educational institution because it has established schools or madrasah that are managed professionally, so its ouput and outcome have superior quality compared to general school or madrasah. Thus the existence of pesantren is now a part of the national education system that graduation has a dual advantages of the mastery of science and religion in a balanced way

Integrated Islam schools emerged as a response to dissatisfaction Islamic movement activists against the national education system in Indonesia. National education system considered in the management of education perpetuates the dualism between religion and public education. Therefore, it takes a model of alternative educational institution capable of removing any educational practice dichotomous. During its development, paradox regarding the development of integrated Islamic school when they actually have to be part of the national education system. This study aims to answer the question of how the position of integrated Islamic schools in the National Education map? This study is a qualitative case study model. Data collection methods were participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data was analyzed using inductive-qualitative analysis. The results showed that the integrated Islamic school is an integral part of the national education system. The indications are; the adoption of the curriculum of the ministry of education and culture, use of the name of the "sekolah ", adjustment of the examination system, and certification programs by teachers of integrated Islamic school. Their willingness ro be part of the national education system is one of the Islamic movement activists attempt to do lslamization of formal education institutions in Indonesia. Boarding school is one of the oldest education institution in the national education system. Pesantren functions as a center for the spread of Islam, with a concentration of education in shaping Muslim people with a high understanding of three main problems, namely God, humans, and nature. Regarding its function as an educational institution, the aim of the Pesantren is to form individuals who excel in the field of understanding and practicing Islamic teachings for students or students in their daily lives. therefore it is necessary to have a good management of Pesantren in the development of Islamic religious education. Therefore, through this paper, the author wants to reveal how good management of Islamic boarding schools is in the development of Islamic religious education in the regional office of the Ministry of Religion of Jambi province. To obtain data that supports this article, the author uses a qualitative-naturalistic approach. Through this qualitative approach, it is hoped that a picture of the quality, social reality and perceptions of the research objectives will be exposed without being contaminated by formal measurements. So it can be concluded that there are several obstacles and recommendations for solutions in the management of Pesantren in the development of Islamic religious education in the regional office of the Ministry of Religion of Jambi province.

Abstrak Pesantren memiliki sejarah panjang dalam pengembangan sistem pendidikan nasional di Indonesia. Ini inisiatif diperluas melalui Indonesia, termasuk ke daerah minoritas muslim. Karena itu, makalah ini akan mengeksplorasi bagaimana pesantren terlibat dalam aktivitas mereka dalam mengajar dan belajar bahasa asing. Bahasa asing tersebut adalah Arab dan Inggris. Studi ini hanya akan fokus pada bahasa Arab sebagai sumber utama pemahaman Islam. Penelitian dilakukan di Pesantren Ummi Kalsum, Kabupaten Gunung Sitoli-Nias, Indonesia. Pendekatan kualitatif digunakan selama siklus belajar. Wawancara mendalam dan observasi non-partisipan dilakukan untuk mengumpulkan data. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dari Februari hingga Mei. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pesantren melestarikan proses belajar mengajar tradisional Arab. Mereka masih melakukan badongan (individu) dan sorogan (klasik). Selain melakukan ini, mereka melanjutkan strategi dan metode lain untuk meningkatkan keterampilan bahasa siswa. Ada tujuh belas latihan itu pesantren dilakukan. Program-program tersebut terhubung melalui 24 jam antrian lingkungan hidup. Akhirnya, teknik dan kegiatan diterapkan untuk memperluas prestasi bahasa siswa.   Kata Kunci: pesantren, pengajaran, belajar, Muslim, sekolah. Abstract Pesantren has a long history of developing the national education system in Indonesia. This initiative was expanded through Indonesia, including to Muslim minority areas. Therefore, this paper will explore how pesantren are involved in their activities in teaching and learning foreign languages. The foreign languages ​​are Arabic and English. This study will only focus on Arabic as the primary source of understanding of Islam. The study was conducted at the Islamic Boarding School Ummi Kalsum, Gunung Sitoli District, Nias, Indonesia. A qualitative approach is used during the learning cycle. In-depth interviews and non-participant observation were conducted to collect data. Data collection is held from February to May. Research findings indicate that pesantren preserve the traditional Arabic teaching and learning process. They still do badongan (individual) and sorogan (classic). In addition to doing this, they continue other strategies and methods to improve students' language skills. Seventeen pesantren exercises were carried out. These programs are connected through 24-hour environmental queues. Finally, techniques and activities are applied to broaden students' language achievement. Madrasah is an alternative educational institution and has the same opportunity to become an educational institution taken into account in social change dynamics. However, as a logical consequence, madrasas must develop each sector to achieve its organizational goals. This study examines the opportunities and challenges of developing madrasas, particularly those based on an Islamic boarding school. This study is a literature study, so that the method of analyzing data is by reviewing and collecting information from various references, both books and scientific articles, which are used as a material in studying and adding conceptual insights related to the opportunities and challenges of developing Islamic boarding school-based madrasas in the modern era. The literature review results show that in developing the education system into a preeminent institution and maintaining its existence, madrasas in Islamic boarding school are required to be open and accommodate the community's aspirations and demands. Madrasah needs to develop themselves to become high quality and superior madrasas and a bridge that connects with the national education system, especially those related to students' moral and personality development. This is understandable because the community hopes that educational institutions in Islamic boarding school are religious experts, have morals, and have future skills.

Nurses recognize and promote the importance of advocacy for nurses at all levels of practice. Despite increased involvement of nurses in policy arenas in recent years, existing evidence suggests a continued practice gap in nurse advocacy, particularly related to approaching national policy stakeholders. The reason for this gap are nurses’ perceived lack of personal free time to engage in policy activities and perceived lack of skill in communicating with policymakers. The situation, background, assessment and recommendation (SBAR) situational briefing tool is an evidence-based communication tool familiar to many nurses. The purpose of this article is to discuss nurse advocacy and to examine SBAR as a means by which nurses can effectively and confidently interact with policymakers. The author discusses the history of SBAR communication, provides an exemplar of SBAR application in policy settings, and offers future research and educational implications. Using SBAR when engaging in activities with policy makers may help nurses overcome perceived barriers and more effectively engage with key policy stakeholders.
