WHO China Country Office reported pneumonia cases in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. The virus was lately identified as a new strain of corona virus called Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2. The new cases grow massively and became pandemic. Regarding this rapid transmission, there is a need for socialization to strengthen people’s awareness and role in mitigation and adaptation against this  COVID-19 pandemic. The method used was counseling with socialization or lectures and supported interactions in the form of questions and answers by using power points and leaflets/brochures as information media. This community engagement included the activities of the Movement for Healthy Living Society (GERMAS), Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS), Use of Personal Protective Equipment such as using masks, Use of Antiseptics and Disinfectants, and Planting Family Medicines (TOGA). The implementation of this activity began with socialization to the local community at the village hall, then to the houses of residents to deliver the subject contained in the brochure/leaflet, and last by placing pamphlets in public places to provide information to the community related to the activities that had been done. This socialization is expected to increase public awareness to face against this corona virus disease outbreak.

: Severe acute respiratory syndrome corona virus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) is a contagious pathogen responsible for the ongoing corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. The pathogenesis and immunological response of SARS-CoV-2 infection is poorly understood until now. After a person is infected by SARS-COV-2 immunity is compromised as both innate and adaptive immunity is playing a major role in the same. The host innate immune system forms the first layer of defense for protection from viral infections and initiates activation of the adaptive immune system in order to give maximum protection. In order to protect from tissue damage and diseases, the respiratory tract maintains the balance of T cell, B cell pro- and anti-inflammatory responses. In this review, we discuss the current update in our understanding of the involvement of the immune system in the antiviral defense against SARS-CoV-2. These novel insights at the respiratory tract immunological responses may support the future development of vaccines and immunoregulatory therapy for SARS-CoV-2 infection.

The outbreak of Corona virus disease (COVID-19) has been recently declared as Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) by World Health Organization and the virus has now spread beyond the boundaries of countries and continents. At present, no specific antiviral treatment or vaccine is available or recommended to counter the COVID-19, and the potential therapy is still symptomatic. The outbreak of the Corona virus was begun in Wuhan, China in December 2019. The most common symptoms are fever, tiredness and dry cough. Some individuals also develop aches and pains, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, or diarrhea. It was reported that traditional remedies may alleviate the symptoms of COVID19. Ayurveda is the world’s oldest medical system that can manage any disease without side effects. Ayurveda is equipped with varieties of treatment modalities to handle with any type of deadly diseases. However, a major drawback is a lack of adequate scientific basis. In recent time, a branch of modern medical science has developed and is known as Psycho- Neuro -Immunology. It deals with the phenomenon of how our thoughts and emotions can affect our immune system. Stress, fear and negative emotions are known to weaken our immune system while Yoga (including meditation), mindfulness, positive emotions, and relaxa-tion strengthen it. Yoga plays an important role to strengthen our immune system.

Corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic is caused by SARS-CoV2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2). It primarily targets lung epithelial cells of human respiratory system. The original strain of coronavirus was first identified at the end of December 2019 and emerged during an outbreak in Wuhan, China. The SARS-CoV-2 infection is mostly seen in the people with weak immune system. There are different ex-situ approaches to prevent the infection of corona virus viz., use of masks, sanitizing body and surfaces and maintaining social distance. But apart from them, in-situ prevention approaches like inclusion of nutrient rich healthy foods and herbs in daily diet helps to protect the body from inside by strengthening immune system. Thus, to strengthen immune system from inside we need to take immunity boosters, apart from normal healthy diet. These immunity boosters are prepared from leaves, roots, stems, flowers, barks and some other parts of medicinal and spice crops. These contain a mixture of proteins and other organic chemicals and carbohydrates, which include alkaloids, flavoids, glycosides, saponins, and terpenes. Kabasura kudineer, Nilavembu kudineer, Immuplus, Echinacea liquid, Immusarc, Septilin and immunity plus are some of the important immunotonics to strengthen and to protect body from infections and safeguard health. In this context we have to supplement our body with these immunity boosters to fight against not only COVID-19 but also other diseases.

COVID-19 (Corona Virus Disease of 2019) is one of disease infecting human respiratory system. This pandemic spreads out not only in Indonesia, but also in all countries around the world. In nowdays, COVID-19 become a terrible disease because the virus can infect very fast through human to human transmission and there is no clinically published vaccine against the SARS-CoV-2 virus to prevent the transmission. One of prevention methods of COVID-19 is by enhancing immune system. Consuming of some food which contain antioxidant agent or immune booster is known as one of method to enhance the immune system. Based on literature studies, there are some Indonesian local plants predicted as the inhibitor against COVID-19. Those plants which are potential as the antiviral to inhibit COVID-19 including red ginger (Zingiber officinale), turmeric (Curcuma longa L.), temulawak (Curcuma xanthorriza Roxb), green tea (Camelia sinensis), meniran (Phyllantus niruri L.), salam (Syzygium polyanthum), guava (Psidium guajava), clove (Sygizium aromaticum), dan garlic (Allium Sativum). Keywords: COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2, medicinal plants, antiviral
