This paper describes the "Malaysian" binding method used by the Sub Division of Technical Binding Materials of the National Library of Indonesia in preserving the collection of periodicals such as tabloids and newspapers. Apart from that, this paper also describes some of the advantages and disadvantages seen in the use of the "Malaysian" method as well as the early history of using this method in preserving the collection of periodicals in the National Library of Indonesia. This writing aims to make readers, especially library managers, know and gain insight into the "Malaysian" binding method. This writing method is through descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Methods of data collection are carried out through the field research, interviews, and literature study. The results show that the National Library of Indonesia uses this method after studying it from Malaysia in May 1990. From observations it is also known that this method has several advantages, namely the binding result is stronger, the collection is more preserved, the binding can be assembled and has an aesthetic side. Meanwhile, the disadvantages of this binding method are that the process tends to be longer, more expensive, cannot be put on too many shelves because the collection will shift backwards, the pages tend to come off easily if the stitches are not strong enough, and can only be used in binding periodical collections.

Province of Bali, Indonesia, is growing very rapidly as a tourist destination in recent decades. Currently five to six million foreign tourists visit it every year. On the other hand, Balinese pop music has also grown quite intense in the local communities, especially since the 1990s. Nevertheless, so far, there has not been a significant relationship between Balinese pop music, tourists, and the tourism businesses in this province. Balinese pop music has not been a special product of Bali tourism. This research was conducted to explore and criticize a number of factors that led to the lack of acceptance of the music as part of tourism industry. This literature study was conducted with a descriptive-qualitative approach. The results of the study show that the similarity of Balinese pop music genres to modern music in general is one of the factors. Taste of the tourists, the destinations chosen, lack of promotion, theme of the songs/music, composition, and language used in the lyrics cause the fact that Balinese pop music is less accepted by tourists, especially foreign tourists. It takes certain efforts from artists (musicians), music industry and tourism industries, and also governments to make certain concerted efforts if Balinese pop music wants to be accepted in a tourism business parallel to traditional music products which are already consumed by tourists.

The long debate on the relevance of the concept of Islamic caliphate government to the modern political concept has been occurring among scholars up to nowadays. This situation leads to an important question about, to what extent the relevance/irrelevance of an Islamic political concept, when it is contextualized to the modern political conditions? This article aims to explore the source of Islamic political thought from the Classical Muslim intellectual; Almawardi and its contextualization to the modern political concepts. Through an in-depth literature study by using the political institutionalism approach, found out that the spirit of the classical Islamic political concept lies on the distribution of power which is not relevant to the spirit of power separation in the modern political concepts. Hereby, it can be emphasized that even if the concept of Khilafah which is promoted by the Islamic political activists basically out of date, but there were basic values related to the government administration and institution basically still relevance to the modern political concepts. The principle of justice, problem management, and transparency were generally still agreed by government ruler in this modern era.

Te Hau ki Tūranga is the oldest meeting house in existence. It was built in the early 1840s at Orakaiapu Pā, just south of Gisborne, by Ngāti Kaipoho (a hapū/subtribe of Rongowhakaata) chief Raharuhi Rukupō. In the nineteenth century whare whakairo (carved houses) were significant symbols of chiefly and tribal mana (prestige, control, power). They were ‗carved histories‘, physical embodiments of tribal history and whakapapa (genealogy) representing a link between the living and the dead. In 1867 Native Minister J C Richmond acquired the whare on behalf of the government to augment the collections of the Colonial Museum in Wellington. Over the almost 150 years since the whare arrived in Wellington, the acquisition of Te Hau ki Tūranga has been the subject of three government inquiries and numerous Rongowhakaata requests for its return. It has also been dismantled and re–erected three times and housed in three different museum buildings. At the close of the twentieth century Rongowhakaata submitted a claim to the Waitangi Tribunal for the ‗theft‘ of Te Hau ki Tūranga. Their claim also expressed concerns about the care and management of the whare in the hands of the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa and its predecessors. This thesis tells the story of Te Hau ki Tūranga from 1867 until the present. It asks: was the whare ‗stolen from its people and wrenched from its roots‘? as Rongowhakaata claim and places the story of Te Hau ki Tūranga in its historical context. It aims to understand the motives and agendas of the characters involved and reach a conclusion as to what most likely happened in 1867. This thesis also breaks new ground by examining the politics surrounding the whare as a museum exhibit and a Treaty of Waitangi claim. Overall this study provides a valuable insight into the history of Crown–Māori relations. It reveals why deep–seated grievances still exist among Māori today and demonstrates the value of the Treaty settlement process as an opportunity for Māori to tell their stories and gain redress for injustices that occurred in the past, but are still being felt in the present.

Abstract Khilafah cut off after the Ottoman Caliphate so that is no longer found of the Islamic government in the modern era. Then al-Afghani and M. Abduh reappeared the khilafah to the expression of wahdat al-Islamiyah which idea’s Rashid Ridha turned to a new term into Pan Islamism. This study is a literature study (library research) where the source data obtained from books of khilafah and Islamic government thinkers. Data were analyzed using critical interpretation analysis methods from Khomeini and al-Juwaini's thoughts including data reduction, data exposure, and conclusion. Based on the accumulation of theory among others Al-Mawdudi made it possible to divert Islamic rule to democracy. Hasan al-Banna socialized the return system of the khilafah. Ibn Khaldun hinted that the breaking of the Caliphate signifies that every state has a final period of government so that the caliphate system will not be permanent until the state fell in the territorial nations. Iqbal criticizes Islam not nationalism and even imperialism but the commonwealth nations without racial and demarcation. Al-Shatibi maintains the spirit of the maqashid shari'ah in the Islamic government. Imam Khomeini switched to the wilayat al-faqih. Ibn Taymiyya states that the complexity of establishing the Islamic Government is as complex as determining Islamic scholars. Al-Juwaini offers a solution to the concept of ghiyatsi namely the government that emphasizes the shari'ah that continues to be discussed in searching for the best format. The modern era is certainly running the Islamic Government only through the government of the spiritual republic by not lifting ahlu zimmah (non Muslim), ahlu kitab, munafiq (hipocrit), zindiq (orientalist), dayyus, musyrik (idolatry), dahriyyun (atheis), ashab'ah (naturalist) become government leaders. Preferred leaders who have be ahl muruwwah (authority) ie people who have previous life records in a measurable and open goodness in the public space for executive, legislative and judicial candidates performed fit and proper test by people who have the same religious knowledge with the fuqaha. Keywords: Khilafah, Islam, Government, and Spiritual Republic Abstrak Khilafah terputus pasca Khalifah Utsmaniyah sehingga hampir tidak ditemukan lagi bentuk Pemerintahan Islam di era modern. Hasan al-Banna mengajak mensosialisasikan pengembalian sistem khilafah.
