This paper aims to illustrate that Sufism does not fully lead to scepticism and passivity in fighting for the benefit of Muslims. Sufism was originally a zuhud (ascetic) movement in Islam, and in its development, gave birth to the tradition of Islamic mysticism. Some Islamic thinkers argue that Sufism is an exile from the people who are more concerned with spiritual life so that they no longer think about the problems of Muslims. Sufism experts, as described the Sufis do not care about what is happening around them, let alone strive for the religion of Allah and also as defined by the public. This article is a literature study and uses the content analysis method from several documents about the history of Sufism. This paper proves that not all accusations about Sufism are true. It could see from the reality on the ground, and it turns out that the Sufis and their students play a lot of roles in helping the struggle of Muslims. Both in eradicating evil, re-implementing the Islamic Shari'a, abolishing polytheism, and Jihad. Jihad that has long been forgotten by Muslims in the late Ottoman period. The struggle of heroic Sufis will never fade from the pages of history. True Sufism is Sufism, which follows the instructions of Allah and His Messenger towards the cleanliness of the spirit, the glory of morals and manners, which finally knows Allah with bright eyes. The Holy Jihad is for the sake of perfection, Jihad against self, greed, against tyranny.

Indonesia and Japan are two countries known for their high regard for culture and tradition, with no exception for those associated with religious rituals. In Japan, the Shinto religion is highly renowned for being the existing and believed ancestor religion. Meanwhile, in Indonesia, Islam is the largest religion that has indirectly influenced the cultures and traditions developed in society. Both Islam and the Shinto have a purification ritual with water as their medium, Padusan and Misogi-Harai, respectively. This study focuses on three things, i.e., the history, time of performance, and ritual procedure, to examine the corresponding meaning of the water as the media in both rituals. The method used to collect data is the literature study, and the data is then analyzed using the qualitative content analysis method. As a result of the three aspects studied, two similar meanings of water to the ritualistic purpose were discovered, i.e., purifying the soul from impurities/sin and returning the spirit to devotion to God.

As a great figure, Ibn ‘Arabi’s thoughts greatly influenced the Sufis who came after him. In fact, some researchers in the field of Sufism say that there are new characteristics that have emerged in the history of Sufism after Ibn ‘Arabi, namely philosophical Sufism. The same influence can also be found in the tradition of Sufism thought on Ottoman, one of them is Üftade. In his work entitled Vâkıât, Üftade mentions Ibn ‘Arabi’s name more than 40 times in various topics of discussion. Nowadays, people can easily access everything with one-click away. For example, when you want to read an article in foreign language which you are not familiar with, then you just need to open Google Translate and within seconds, you will get the translation of it. To deal with that reality, a translator has to differentiate himself from machine translation which is increasingly used by the public. Therefore, the translator is required to produce an equivalent and natural translation in the Target Language. This research aims to provide understanding of translation equivalence on video transcripts conducted by students in Movie Translation (Subtitling) course. This study uses qualitative approach, content analysis method, and purposive sampling to collect data. In short, there are two types of translation equivalence used by students, formal and dynamic. Formal equivalence focuses on the similarity of the form and meaning of the message from Source Language to Target Language, while dynamic one focuses on the naturalness of expression in the Target Language.
