Women who prepare early will be better prepared both physically and psychologically to breastfeed exclusively. The purpose of this research was to determine whether the motivation variable as a mediator of the relation between knowledge of exclusive breastfeeding with readiness to exclusive breastfeeding. The study was observational, A total of 150 respondents, These three variables, namely knowledge, motivation, and readiness in exclusive breastfeeding, measured by the enclosed questionnaire. Correlation between variables was analyzed with path analysis. The relation between variables in all three models was significant (p <0.001), whereas the relation between knowledge and preparedness in exclusive breastfeeding is not significant (1b '= 0.142; p = 0.092). The relation between knowledge and preparedness in exclusive breastfeeding changed from the first model, into the fourth model. Besides there is a decline in the path coefficient of 0,302 became 0,142, the relation also becomes insignificant. This shows that the fourth mediation relationship condition is fulfilled. Pregnant women motivation exclusively breastfed mediates the relationship between knowledge of exclusive breastfeeding with maternal readiness in exclusive breastfeeding.

The success of the implementation of exclusive breastfeeding in the community is depend on the readiness of pregnant mothers in exclusive breastfeeding. This readiness is influenced by several factors including motivation and support exclusive breastfeeding by family. This study aimed to examine the empirical model that shows the motivational role as mediators of the relationship between family support of readiness pregnant mothers in exclusive breastfeeding. Cross-sectional study performed on pregnant women in Surakarta. A sample of 150 respondents mother in her first time pregnancy. The closed questionnaire of Likert scale developed to measure three variables of the study. Path analysis procedure used to test the hypothesis of motivational role as mediator relations between two other variables. The results showed that all three variables had a significant relation (p <0.001). The relationship between family support to readiness pregnant women after entering motivation as covariates remained significant but decreased significantly path coefficient (β = 0.365; p <0.001 becomes β = 0.260; p = 0.001). Thus the motivation become a mediator relationship with the family support of readiness pregnant mothers in exclusive breastfeeding.

Pig population in East Nusa Tenggara Province in 2019 was recorded at around 2 million pigs. In east Nusa Tenggara around 85% of the households raise at least 1 (one) pig per household. Pig farming industry has its own challenges and resistances, one of the challenge is the threat of infectious diseases such as Hog cholera disease. Hog cholera is a disease caused by virus and has become endemic in most of the area in East Nusa Tenggara with relatively high prevalence. In Kupang City the prevalence of HC in 2018 was recorded at around 20,5%. The aim of this study is to analyse the relationship of pig farmer characteristics with knowledge level, attitude and practice regarding HC controlling and eradication in Kota Raja Sub-distric Kupang City. In this study, data was obtained by questionnaire and interview of pig farmers which was done in Kota Raja Sub-distric from August until October 2018. Data was analyzed with descriptive statistic and KAP studi data was analyzed with path analysis to measure the relationship between observed characteristics and HC controlling practice. The result of this study shows that variable that has the stongest relationship to practice is level of education with path coefficient (r) of -0,438 (P 0,027), followed by attitude with path coefficient (r) of 0,233 (P 0,000), and then followed by knowledge with path coefficient (r) of 0,224 (P 0,008) and the weakest realationship to practice is farmers age with path coefficient (r) of -0,049 (P 0,016).

Compare to others province in Borneo, central Borneo has fail to meet the minimum target of exclusive breastfeeding, estimated only about 20.5%. However, in Palangka Raya City, the prevalence of exclusive breastfeeding roughly only 14.99% and this number has decreased slowly year by year. Maternal Fetal Attachment (MFA) is playing an important role to the mother’s attitude to breastfeed their babies when they birth. Maternal-fetal attachment also affected to the mother’s health practice attitude toward her pregnancy. The aimed of this study is to explore the relationship between maternal-fetal attachment and their attitude toward breastfeeding exclusively. The consecutive sampling was used to recruited 97 participants in this study. Rank spearmen was calculated to determine the relationship between two variables. The result finding there is no a significant relationship between maternal-fetal attachment and their attitude to breastfeed exclusively. Limitations and recommendations have been made in this article for further study in the same area.

The purpose of this analysis was to determine the independent variables which most affected the dependent ones as crops index and leaf nicotine contain, so that it could reduce the number of independent variables. The agronomical characteristics consist of leaf number/plant, seventh and fiteenth leaf area, dried slice leaf/ha, grade index and crop index obtained from fetilizer experiment on three Virginia tobacco lines at Pekuwon Experimental Garden Bojonegoro, from May to October 2002. The results of this path analysis showed that crop index was strongly affected by dried slice leaf with path coeficient poi = 1.03367 and patial determination coefficient 102%. It was indicated that dried slice leaf was strongly affected by seventh leaf area with path coefficient p,n- 0.85257 and dried slice leaf strongly variable affected the crop index with path coeficient poi= 0.95639, while the grade index had little effect on crop index with path coefficient poi= 0.12316. The path analysis between leaf nicotine content and ive variables above was unfit with residual path coeficient pou= 0.6827, it was higher than each path coefficient of the orther variables. The dried slice leaf was the main independent variable affecting the crops index, so that selling of fresh tobacco leaves by farmers is not recomended.

Key words : Nicotiana tabacum, Virginia tobacco, path analysis, leaf number, leaf area, crop index, grade index, nicotine content, dried slice leaf

Path analysis depicted the strength of association of all independent variables under study on the grain yield. Thus, the study aimed at examining changes in associations and path analysis of yield related traits to yield in post-monsoon and monsoon season. A total of 14 maizegenotypes were evaluated in two growing seasons at the Maize and other Cereal Crops Research Section, Department of Agricultural Research (DAR), Yezin, Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar. Genotypic correlation and path coefficient analyses were carried out to examine the relationship among the traits under both environments. Yield was positively correlated with ear length, row length, ear diameter, rows per ear, kernels per row, shelling percent and 1000 seed weight but had a negative correlation with days to tasseling and days to silking in both growing seasons with different magnitudes. These traits can be used as the main criteria for grain yield improvement of maize yield in the respective growing seasons. Some traits showed similar direct effects in both growing seasons, however, the link between direct and indirect effects on grain yield depends on respective growing season.

Caring relationships are recognized as important resources for information seekers. I consider how nine pregnant women map their relationships with their midwives as they evaluate them as information sources. Data come from interviews. Women described the relationship as a trajectory, beginning with the “idea” of a midwife. As women get to know their midwife, they are able to draw on a set of resources, including the relationship itself, as informative. These resources are not static but are re-negotiated on an ongoing basis. A single encounter therefore maps both to the trajectory of the relationship and to a broader discursive community.

(1) Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine suicidal risk factors, the relationship and the underlying mechanism between social variables and suicidal behavior. We hope to provide empirical support for the future suicide prevention of social media users at the social level. (2) Methods: The path analysis model with psychache as the mediate variable was constructed to analyze the relationship between suicidal behavior and selected social macro variables. The data for our research was taken from the Chinese Suicide Dictionary, Moral Foundation Dictionary, Cultural Value Dictionary and National Bureau of Statistics. (3) Results: The path analysis model was an adequate representation of the data. With the mediator psychache, higher authority vice, individualism, and disposable income of residents significantly predicted less suicidal behavior. Purity vice, collectivism, and proportion of the primary industry had positive significant effect on suicidal behavior via the mediator psychache. The coefficients of harm vice, fairness vice, ingroup vice, public transport and car for every 10,000 people, urban population density, gross domestic product (GDP), urban registered unemployment rate, and crude divorce rate were not significant. Furthermore, we applied the model to three major economic development belts in China. The model’s result meant different economic zones had no influence on the model designed in our study. (4) Conclusions: Our evidence informs population-based suicide prevention policymakers that incorporating some social factors like authority vice, individualism, etc. can help prevent suicidal ideation in China.

Abstract Background Breastfeeding is associated with healthier weight and nutrient status in early life. However, the impact of breastfeeding on carotenoid status beyond infancy, and the influence of adiposity, is unknown. Objective The aim of the study was to retrospectively investigate the relationship between breastfeeding and carotenoid status, and the mediating effect of weight status and adiposity on this relationship among school-aged children. Methods This was a secondary analysis of baseline data collected from a randomized-controlled clinical trial. (ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT03521349). 7–12-year-old (n = 81) children were recruited from East-Central Illinois. Dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) was used to assess visceral adipose tissue (VAT) and whole-body adiposity (%Fat). Weight was obtained to calculated body mass index percentile (BMI %ile). Skin carotenoids were assessed via reflection spectroscopy. Macular carotenoids were assessed as macular pigment optical density (MPOD). Dietary, birth, and breastfeeding information was self-reported by parents. Results Skin carotenoids were inversely related to %Fat (P < 0.01), VAT (P < 0.01) and BMI %ile (P < 0.01). VAT and BMI %ile significantly mediated this relationship between exclusive breastfeeding duration and skin carotenoids, following adjustment for dietary carotenoids, energy intake, and mother education. Conclusions Weight status and adipose tissue distribution mediate the positive correlation between exclusive breastfeeding duration and skin carotenoids among children aged 7–12 years. The results indicate the need to support breastfeeding and healthy physical growth in childhood for optimal carotenoid status.

Pregnant women who are infected with SARS-CoV-2 are at an increased risk of adverse perinatal outcomes. With this study, we aimed to better understand the relationship between maternal infection and perinatal outcomes, especially preterm births, and the underlying medical and interventionist factors. This was a prospective observational study carried out in 78 centers (Spanish Obstetric Emergency Group) with a cohort of 1347 SARS-CoV-2 PCR-positive pregnant women registered consecutively between 26 February and 5 November 2020, and a concurrent sample of PCR-negative mothers. The patients’ information was collected from their medical records, and the association of SARS-CoV-2 and perinatal outcomes was evaluated by univariable and multivariate analyses. The data from 1347 SARS-CoV-2-positive pregnancies were compared with those from 1607 SARS-CoV-2-negative pregnancies. Differences were observed between both groups in premature rupture of membranes (15.5% vs. 11.1%, p < 0.001); venous thrombotic events (1.5% vs. 0.2%, p < 0.001); and severe pre-eclampsia incidence (40.6 vs. 15.6%, p = 0.001), which could have been overestimated in the infected cohort due to the shared analytical signs between this hypertensive disorder and COVID-19. In addition, more preterm deliveries were observed in infected patients (11.1% vs. 5.8%, p < 0.001) mainly due to an increase in iatrogenic preterm births. The prematurity in SARS-CoV-2-affected pregnancies results from a predisposition to end the pregnancy because of maternal disease (pneumonia and pre-eclampsia, with or without COVID-19 symptoms).

Abstract Background The COVID-19 pandemic brings unprecedented uncertainty and stress. This study aimed to characterize general sleep status among Chinese residents during the early stage of the outbreak and to explore the network relationship among COVID-19 uncertainty, intolerance of uncertainty, perceived stress, and sleep status. Methods A cross-sectional correlational survey was conducted online. A total of 2534 Chinese residents were surveyed from 30 provinces, municipalities, autonomous regions of China and regions abroad during the period from February 7 to 14, 2020, the third week of lockdown. Final valid data from 2215 participants were analyzed. Self-report measures assessed uncertainty about COVID-19, intolerance of uncertainty, perceived stress, and general sleep status. Serial mediation analysis using the bootstrapping method and path analysis were applied to test the mediation role of intolerance of uncertainty and perceived stress in the relationship between uncertainty about COVID-19 and sleep status. Results The total score of sleep status was 4.82 (SD = 2.72). Age, place of residence, ethnicity, marital status, infection, and quarantine status were all significantly associated with general sleep status. Approximately half of participants (47.1%) reported going to bed after 12:00 am, 23.0% took 30 min or longer to fall asleep, and 30.3% slept a total of 7 h or less. Higher uncertainty about COVID-19 was significantly positively correlated with higher intolerance of uncertainty (r = 0.506, p < 0.001). The mediation analysis found a mediating role of perceived stress in the relationship between COVID-19 uncertainty and general sleep status (β = 0.015, 95%C.I. = 0.009–0.021). However, IU was not a significant mediator of the relationship between COVID-19 uncertainty and sleep (β = 0.009, 95%C.I. = − 0.002–0.020). Moreover, results from the path analysis further showed uncertainty about COVID-19 had a weak direct effect on poor sleep (β = 0.043, p < 0.05); however, there was a robust indirect effect on poor sleep through intolerance of uncertainty and perceived stress. Conclusions These findings suggest that intolerance of uncertainty and perceived stress are critical factors in the relationship between COVID-19 uncertainty and sleep outcomes. Results are discussed in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, and practical policy implications are also provided.
